  • Due to recent climate change, big typhoon and heavy rainfall happen frequently not only in Korea but also all over the world. It leads to collapse of levee by extraordinary flood. It lead to collapse of levees by extraordinary flood. These natural disasters give the life and property damages in near region. In this study, it was performed that a stability in levee using seepage analysis. It has been evaluated hydraulic gradient of exit zone according to variations in levee crest width, gradient. As a result, it showed that hydraulic gradient of exit zone was decreased due to increase of levee crest width and gradient, and it was evaluated that vertical hydraulic gradient was decreased than that of the horizontal hydraulic gradient.

  • The objective of this study was to present a damped pneumatic suspension, a bike fork suspension, which can adapt itself to incoming road excitations is presented in this paper. It consists of a hydraulic damper and a pneumatic spring in parallel with a linear spring. The study also proposed a variable and switchable orifice, in the hydraulic damper, to select appropriate damping property. Hydraulic-pneumatic circuit model for the bike fork suspension was established based on AMESim, in order to predict its performance. In addition, elastic-damping characteristics of the fork such as spring constant and viscous damping coefficient were computed and compared, for validation, with those evaluated by experiment using the universal test machine. Through simulation analysis and test, it was established that the hydraulic-pneumatic circuit model is effective and practical for development of future MTB suspensions.

  • The dynamic characteristics of a load-sensing hydraulic servo system are complex and highly unstable. Another property of the system is that the setting value of pump compensator is closely related to energy efficiency as well as control performance of the system. This necessitates the development of an effective control algorithm which guarantees good control performance, stability and energy efficiency. This paper considers a suboptimal PID control for the velocity control problem of the load-sensing hydraulic servo system. The results of simulations studies and experiments show that the proposed suboptimal controller can produce much better control performance than nonoptimal controllers and give effective energy efficiency.

  • Salt accumulated soil should be reclaimed to lower salt level for crop production. This study was carried out to investigate the characteristics of water flow and transport of mono and divalent solutes on salt accumulated soils with different head pressures. Saturated hydraulic conductivity was measured by constant and falling head methods with maintaining different head pressures. Saturated hydraulic conductivity was influenced by bulk density and organic matter contents in soils, but it had different elusion patterns between saline and sodic soil. While the quantity of water necessary for reclamation could be varies with soil type, it was considered that the supply of one pore volume of water was affordable and economic. Additional head pressure significantly increased the volume of leachate at a given time and it was more effective at low organic matter soils. The results indicate that additional head pressure would be one of the best irrigation practices on desalination method for salt accumulated soils.

  • This paper was originated to set up a test equipment and to obtain the proper installation condition of the plastic damper for the hydraulic clutch control system. Performance tests with different specifications have been applied to the damper to investigate the workability and the vibration characteristics of each case, and the result was utilized into the system simulation for the optimal condition for the damper. The procedure has been developed to set up a damper test system to analyze the dynamic properties and the operation of the system, and further to setup a simulation program for the realistic situations. The result can also be applied to the dampers and the clutch systems to be developed in the future for the property tests and the optimization of the installation conditions.

  • In order to analyze the mechanical properties of two-way different configurations of prestressed concrete members subjected to axial loading, a finite element model based on the nuclear power plant containments is demonstrated. This model takes into account the influences of different principal stress directions, the uniaxial or biaxial loading, and biaxial loading ratio. The displacement-controlled load is applied to obtain the stress estrain response. The simulated results indicate that the differences of principal stress axes have great effects on the stress-strain response under uniaxial loading. When the specimens are subjected to biaxial loading, the change trend of stress with the increase of loading ratio is obviously different along different layout directions. In addition, correlation experiments and finite element analyses were conducted to verify the validity and reliability of the analysis in this study.

  • The reinforced concrete lining in the hydraulic pressure tunnel tends to crack during the water-filling process. The lining will be detached from the surrounding rock due to the inner water exosmosis along concrete cracks. From the previous research achievements, the cohesive element is widely adopted to simulate the concrete crack but rarely adopted to simulate the lining-rock interface. In this study, the zero-thickness cohesive element with hydro-mechanical coupling property is not only employed to simulate the traditional concrete crack, but also innovatively introduced to simulate the lining-rock interface. Combined with the indirect-coupled method, the hydro-mechanical coupling algorithm of the reinforced concrete lining in hydraulic pressure tunnels is proposed and implemented in the finite element code ABAQUS. The calculated results reveal the cracking mechanism of the reinforced concrete lining, and match well with the observed engineering phenomenon.

  • This study surveyed on the synthesis of one-step type hydrophilic non-porous PU resin and the physical property of the coated fabric for the garment. Three kinds of chain extender such as MEG, 1,4-BD and NPG were used for the preparation of one-step type hydrophilic non-porous PU resin in order to examine the effect of chain extender on the physical properties of PU-coated fabric. And the effects of isocyanate on the physical properties of PU coated fabric were surveyed by mixing with various TDI and MDI ratios. In addition, the physical properties of the coated fabric treated with one-step type hydrophilic non-porous PU resin were examined according to the pre-treatment conditions such as cire finishing. Finally, the washing durability of the coated fabrics was assessed. The coated fabrics treated with PU resin synthesized with PEG1000, MEG and TDI/MDI (6/4) showed the best physical properties. Considering the pre-treatment conditions, best performance of hydraulic pressure, water vapor permeability, and water repellency were obtained with top roller rotation ratio of 150% under 50 ton pressure at $170^{\circ}C$.

  • Hydraulic filling methods are widely applied to suppress the land subsidence recently. But the research on high-efficiency hydraulic filling to protect the land subsidence is rare. In this study, field experiments to improve the efficiency of the hydraulic filling method are performed by changing the property, specification of the filling material and injection pipe. The filling amounts using vertical injection pipe, reducing tee (${\phi}100mm$) pipe, reducing tee (${\phi}80mm$) pipe and reducing tee (${\phi}50mm$) pipe showed 28.84 ton, 42.62 ton, 53.33 ton, and 63.33 ton respectively. The filling rates using reducing tee (${\phi}100mm$) pipe, reducing tee (${\phi}80mm$) pipe and reducing tee (${\phi}50mm$) pipe showed 47.8%, 84.9% and 119.6% respectively. Filling efficiency can be incresed by using reducing tee. This study shows that simply changing the type of injection pipe is expected to increase the hydraulic filling rate.
