  • The performance of a hammer/driving systems is a major factor which affects bearing capacity and integrity of installed piles. Hammer performance can be evaluated from the results of dynamic pile testing using Pile Driving Analyzer(PDA). By comparing the rated energy with measured maximum transferred energy(EMX), the energy transfer ratio(ETR) can be calculated. This paper based on the dynamic measurements of 442 cases in 130 piling projects and evaluated ETR according to the hammer types(hydraulic and drop hammers) and pile types(steel and concrete piles).

Robust Design of Main Control Valve for Hydraulic Pile Hammer Flexible Control System

  • The flexible control system for hydraulic pile hammer using main control valve is present to the requirement of rapidly reversing with high frequency. To ensure the working reliability of hydraulic pile hammer, the reversing performance of the main control valve should commutate robustness to various interfere factors. Through simulation model built in Simulink/Stateflow and experiment, the effects of relative parameters to reverse performance of main control are analyzed and the main interfere factors for reversing performance are acquired. Treating reverse required time as design objects, some structure parameters as control factors, control pressure, input flow and gaps between spool and valve body as interfere factors, the robust design of the main control valve is done. The combination of factors with the strongest anti-jamming capability is acquired which ensured the reliability and anti-jamming capability of the main control valve. It also provides guidance on design and application of the main control valve used in large flow control with interferes.

  • When pile foundation constructed by driving method, it is desirable to perform monitoring and estimation of pile drivability and bearing capacity using some suitable tools. Dynamic Pile Monitoring yields information regarding the hammer, driving system, and pile and soil behaviour that can be used to confirm the assumptions of wave equation analysis. Dynamic Pile Monitoring is performed with the Pile Driving Analyser. The Pile Driving Analyser (PDA) uses wave propagation theory to compute numerous variables that fully describe the condition of the hammer-pile-soil system in real time, following each hammer impact. This approach allows immediate field verification of hammer performance, driving efficiency, and an estimate of pile capacity. The PDA has been used widely as a most effective control method of pile installations. A set of PDA test was performed at the site of Donghea-1 Gas Platform Jacket which is located east of Ulsan. The drilling core sediments of location of jacket subsoil are composed of mud and sand, silt. In this case study, the results of PDA test which was applied to measurement and estimation of large diameter open ended steel pipe pile driven by underwater hydraulic hammer, MHU-800S, at the marine sediments were summarized.

현장실험을 통한 저진동·저소음 진폭가변형 진동해머 성능 평가 (Performance Evaluation of the Vibro Hammer with Variable Amplitude by Field Tests)

  • 국내외에서 차수벽이나 흙막이 벽체로 많이 사용되고 있는 강널말뚝의 관입시 일반적으로 진동해머를 이용하여 시공하고 있다. 진동해머 중에서도 유압식 진동해머가 많이 사용되고 있는데, 진동해머의 시동을 켜고 끌 경우 진동해머 편심축의 이동에 따라 고유진동수의 변화로 진동해머에서 공진이 일어나 진동 및 소음이 크게 발생하는 문제점이 있다. 이에 본 연구에서는 일반 유압식 진동해머에서 발생하는 공진 발생에 의한 진동 및 소음을 줄이기 위하여 진폭가변형 유압진동해머를 개발하였다. 개발된 진폭가변형 유압진동해머는 두 쌍의 편심체 수평 각도를 조절하여 진동수 및 진폭을 조절할 수 있으며, 일반 유압식 진동해머와 개발된 진폭가변형 유압진동해머의 기진체 현장실험을 이용한 성능 평가 비교를 통해, 기존 일반 유압식 진동해머에 비해 진폭가변형 유압진동해머의 진동 및 소음이 감소함을 확인하였다. 또한 현장실험 결과 진폭가변형 유압진동해머는 굴삭기의 추력으로 인해 기존 전기식 진동해머에 비해 관입속도가 증가하였으며, 일반 유압식 진동해머에 비해서도 진폭가변으로 지반조건에 따라 관입속도가 빨라질 수 있음을 확인하였다.

  • The Ν-value in the standard penetration test(SPT) is affected by the magnitude of the rod penetration energy transmitted from the falling hammer as well as the geotechnical characteristics of the ground. Understanding of the striking energy efficiency in the SPT equipment is getting important for that reason. The energy efficiencies of the doughnut hammer with the hydraulic lift system and the automatic trip hammer system were investigated through field tests using the instrumented rod and wave-signal acquisition systems including the pile driving analyzer(PDA) . The rod energy ratio, ΕR$\_$r/ was defined as the ratio of the energy delivered to the drilling rod to the potential free-fall energy of the hammer. It appears that the type of the hammer and lift/drop system had a strong influence on the energy transfer mechanism and ΕR$\_$r/ also varies according to the energy instrumentation system and the analysis methods.

굴착 후 타입된 PHC 말뚝의 재하시험 결과 비교분석 사례 연구 (Case Study of Comparative Analysis between Static and Dynamic Loading Test of PHC Pile)

  • 서해안 연약지반에서 굴착 후 시멘트밀크의 주입없이 경타로 시공된 PHC 말뚝에 대하여 동재하시험과 정재하시험을 병행하여 그 상관성을 분석하였다. 초기 동재하시험은 Hydraulic Hammer(Ram Weight 7.0tf)를 사용하여 낙하고 0.8m에서 최종 평균 관입량은 3.0~8.0mm로 측정되었다. 이때 CAPWAP 분석결과에 의한 최종 허용지지력은 776.4~1,053.6kN/본으로 확인되었다. 정재하시험은 동재하시험을 한 동일 말뚝에 실시하는 것이 가장 이상적이나, 현장 여건상 인접의 말뚝에 설계지지력(120.0tf)의 200%인 총 시험하중(2,400.0kN)을 8단계로 나누어 재하시험한 결과, 총침하량은 15.97~16.38mm, 잔류침하량은 4.48~5.38mm로 측정되었으며, 모든 분석법을 적용하여도 항복하중과 극한하중은 확인되지 않았다. 따라서 최대시험하중(240.0tf)을 항복하중으로 간주하여 안전율 2.0으로 나누어 허용지지력을 산정한 결과 허용지지력은 1,200kN/본 이상 되는 것으로 나타났다. 그 결과 정재하시험보다 동재하시험이 1.54~1.1.4배 큰 것으로 나타났다.

  • Recently the truction of coastal reclaimation work has been extensively implemented in Korea. The Sondo New City is being established on the reclaimed land from the sea, construction companies of metro construction are planing to pull-out the sheet pile for saving the construction cost. In the case of soft marine clay, it is very difficult to pull-out the sheet pile by using the hydraulic hammer difficult. Therefore, the man of the field must be aware of vibration effect to the ground and the structure. For understanding the vibration effect to the ground during subway construction, the model was formulated with 1/25 braced-cut for subway construction. Scott and Iai(1989) proposed the law of the similarity for other experimental conditions. The laboratory model test was conducted under the vibration condition of sheet pile pulling out. The settlement on the ground surface was measured during the shaking table test. The pore water pressure was also monitored in the upper, middle, and lower layers of soil. The field settlement level and the pore water pressure can be predicted by using the results of the laboratory shaking table test.
