방사소음 및 투과소음에 대한 승용차량 대시패널의 설계인자 별 영향도 분석 (Evaluation of Design Variables to Improve Sound Radiation and Transmission Loss Performances of a Dash Panel Component of an Automotive Vehicle)

  • While a dash panel component, close to passengers, plays a very important role to protect heat and noise from a power train, it is also a main path that transfers vibration energy and eventually radiates acoustic noise into the cavity. Therefore, it is important to provide optimal design schemes incorporating sound packages such as a dash isolation pad and a floor carpet, as well as structures. The present study is the extension of the previous investigation how design variables affect sound radiation, which was carried out using the simple plate and framed system. A novel FE-SEA hybrid simulation model is used for this study. The system taken into account is a dash panel component of a sedan vehicle, which includes front pillars, front side members, a dash panel and corresponding sound packages. Design variables such as panel thicknesses and sound packages are investigated how they are related to two main NVH indexes, sound radiation power(i.e. structure-borne) and sound transmission loss(i.e. air borne). In the viewpoint of obtaining better NVH performance, it is shown that these two indexes do not always result in same tendencies of improvement, which suggests that they should be dealt with independently and are also dependent on frequency regions.

Secretion of Bacillus subtilis Cytidine Deaminase by the Aid of Signal Sequences in Escherichia coli

  • In order to secrete the Bacillus subtilis cytidine deaminase (CDase, cytidine/2'-deoxycytidine deaminase) encoded by the B. subtilis cdd gene in E. coli by the aid of signal sequences, the cdd gene was fused in-frame to either amyE or penP signal sequences and the gene expression and CDase localization were examined. For the penP signal sequence::cdd fusion, the cdd gene with 9 amino acids truncated from the 5'-terminus was fused in-frame to the signal sequence, then the $cdd^{+}$ colonies were not occurred from the minimal plate by cdd complementation. The result suggests that 9 amino acids on the $NH_2-terminal$ of CDase have an essential function in the enzyme activity. The hybrid protein obtained by fused gene amyE signal sequence::cdd structural gene gave $cdd^{+}$ phenotype and about half of the total CDase activity was found to be secreted in the periplasm of E. coli transformant JF611/pSO202. The periplasmic CDase activity of JF611 harboring pSO52 containing the intact cdd gene was considerablely lower than that of the cells harboring pSO202 carrying the hybrid cdd gene. This suggests that the CDase was secreted to the periplasm through the cytoplasmic membrane by the aid of the amyE signal sequence in the E. coli transformant.

  • Micro trench structures are applied in gratings, security films, wave guides, and micro fluidics. These micro trench structures have commonly been fabricated by micro electro mechanical system (MEMS) process. However, if the micro trench structures are machined using a diamond tool on large area plate, the resulting process is the most effective manufacturing method for products with high quality surfaces and outstanding optical characteristics. A nonferrous metal has been used as a workpiece; recently, and hybrid materials, including polymer materials, have been applied to mold for display fields. Thus, the machining characteristics of polymer materials should be analyzed. In this study, machining characteristics were compared between nonferrous metals and polymer materials using single crystal diamond (SCD) tools; the use of such materials is increasing in machining applications. The experiment was conducted using a square type diamond tool and a shaper machine tool with cutting depths of 2, 4, 6 and 10 ${\mu}m$ and a cutting speed of 200 mm/s. The machined surfaces, chip, and cutting force were compared through the experiment.

Analytical and higher order finite element hybrid approach for an efficient simulation of ultrasonic guided waves I: 2D-analysis

  • In recent years the interest in online monitoring of lightweight structures with ultrasonic guided waves is steadily growing. Especially the aircraft industry is a driving force in the development of structural health monitoring (SHM) systems. In order to optimally design SHM systems powerful and efficient numerical simulation tools to predict the behaviour of ultrasonic elastic waves in thin-walled structures are required. It has been shown that in real industrial applications, such as airplane wings or fuselages, conventional linear and quadratic pure displacement finite elements commonly used to model ultrasonic elastic waves quickly reach their limits. The required mesh density, to obtain good quality solutions, results in enormous computational costs when solving the wave propagation problem in the time domain. To resolve this problem different possibilities are available. Analytical methods and higher order finite element method approaches (HO-FEM), like p-FEM, spectral elements, spectral analysis and isogeometric analysis, are among them. Although analytical approaches offer fast and accurate results, they are limited to rather simple geometries. On the other hand, the application of higher order finite element schemes is a computationally demanding task. The drawbacks of both methods can be circumvented if regions of complex geometry are modelled using a HO-FEM approach while the response of the remaining structure is computed utilizing an analytical approach. The objective of the paper is to present an efficient method to couple different HO-FEM schemes with an analytical description of an undisturbed region. Using this hybrid formulation the numerical effort can be drastically reduced. The functionality of the proposed scheme is demonstrated by studying the propagation of ultrasonic guided waves in plates, excited by a piezoelectric patch actuator. The actuator is modelled utilizing higher order coupled field finite elements, whereas the homogenous, isotropic plate is described analytically. The results of this "semi-analytical" approach highlight the opportunities to reduce the numerical effort if closed-form solutions are partially available.

선체 구조설계를 위한 지식 베이스 전문가 시스템 (Knowledge-based Expert System for the Preliminary Ship Structural Design)

  • 본 논문은 선박의 초기설계와 중앙단면 설계용 지식베이스 시스템을 개발하고 지식공학이 선체구조 설계 분야에 매우 효율적으로 적용될 수 있음을 검토하는데 그 목적이 있다. 이를 위하여 첫째 구조설계에 적합한 지식베이스 전문가 시스템 개발용 도구(tool)인 E.1을 개발하였다. E.1은 C언어로 작성되었고 구조설계 과정을 효율적으로 뒷받침해주기 위해서 자동 반복 계산과 재추론 기능을 갖고 있다. 둘째 살물선의 초기설계시 주요치수 추정과 중앙단면 설계를 위한 지식베이스를 개발하였다. 이 지식베이스들은 통계적 경험식, 선급 규정, 경험적 지식 등을 rule, fact, table로 표현하여 구성하였다. 셋째 지식베이스의 추론을 통하여 중앙 단면 최적 설계 프로그램의 입력 자료를 생성하고 최적화 프로그램을 수행시키는 통합(hybrid) 시스템을 구축하였다. 넷째 보강판 설계용 지식베이스 시스템을 개발하기 위해 최적화 결과의 회귀분석을 이용하는 간이 설계법을 적용해 보았다. 이 시스템을 사용하여 살물선과 보강판의 설계과정을 보이고 그 결과를 검토해 보았다. 앞으로 E.I와 성능 개선과 더 우수한 지식베이스가 축적됨에 따라서 선체 구조설계에 사용되는 기존의 CAD 시스템의 성능이 크게 보완될 것으로 기대된다.

  • The Structures or buildings nowadays draw more complexity in design due to space limitation and other factor that affect the height and dimensions, that results to instability. So the various methods have been carried out to improve the safety factor from an earthquake or a boom until recently. But, it is very hard to get model precisely because these structures are the non-linear and multi-variable systems. For this reason, we developed the active control system that is applied the adaptive control method on the U type Tuned Liquid Damper(TLD) passive control system. It is proven that the proposed active control strategy of the plate carrying U type TLD system is the more effective control method to suppress the vibration of the structure. The entire hybrid control system is composed of the actuator acted in the opposite direction of the TLD system's motion direction and the active control device with an air pressure adjuster. This paper proposed the adaptive control methods to improve the problem of U type TLD system which is used widely for the passive control of the building. And it is proved by the simulation. In advanced, it is developed the pressure control method that is improved the hybrid controller's performance by using air chamber pressure controller. These methods take the advantage of the decrease of the maximum displacement by using the controller as soon as the impact is loaded. This is a very important element for the safety design and economic design of structures.

3D-culture models as drug-testing platforms in canine lymphoma and their cross talk with lymph node-derived stromal cells

  • Background: Malignant lymphoma is the most common hematopoietic malignancy in dogs, and relapse is frequently seen despite aggressive initial treatment. In order for the treatment of these recurrent lymphomas in dogs to be effective, it is important to choose a personalized and sensitive anticancer agent. To provide a reliable tool for drug development and for personalized cancer therapy, it is critical to maintain key characteristics of the original tumor. Objectives: In this study, we established a model of hybrid tumor/stromal spheroids and investigated the association between canine lymphoma cell line (GL-1) and canine lymph node (LN)-derived stromal cells (SCs). Methods: A hybrid spheroid model consisting of GL-1 cells and LN-derived SC was created using ultra low attachment plate. The relationship between SCs and tumor cells (TCs) was investigated using a coculture system. Results: TCs cocultured with SCs were found to have significantly upregulated multidrug resistance genes, such as P-qp, MRP1, and BCRP, compared with TC monocultures. Additionally, it was revealed that coculture with SCs reduced doxorubicin-induced apoptosis and G2/M cell cycle arrest of GL-1 cells. Conclusions: SCs upregulated multidrug resistance genes in TCs and influenced apoptosis and the cell cycle of TCs in the presence of anticancer drugs. This study revealed that understanding the interaction between the tumor microenvironment and TCs is essential in designing experimental approaches to personalized medicine and to predict the effect of drugs.

콘크리트 교량의 보강을 위한 온도 프리스트레싱 공법의 실험적 연구 (An Experimental Study on Thermal Prestressing Method for Strengthening Concrete Bridge)

  • 현재 콘크리트 교량의 보강 공법으로 주로 사용되는 외부 강봉을 이용한 후 인장 공법은 적용 범위가 넓고 교량의 극한 및 항복에 대한 강성을 증가시켜 휨보강 효과가 뛰어나지만, 모재 접합부의 응력집중, 비효율적인 하중 분배, 고정앵커부 설치, 유지관리의 어려움 등의 단점이 있다. 본 연구는 기존의 외부 강봉을 이용한 후 인장 공법이 가지는 단점을 보완하고 강판 접합 공법의 장점을 접목한 새로운 개념의 보강 공법으로 온도 프리스트레싱 보강 공법을 제안하고자 한다. 온도 프리스트레싱 보강 공법은 프리스트레싱 보강 강판을 다단계로 가열하여 가열 단계별로 콘크리트 교량의 하부에 접합한 뒤, 열원을 제거하여 발생하는 다단계 수축력을 보강에 필요한 프리스트레싱력으로 이용하는 보강 공법이다. 본 연구에서 제안된 온도 프리스트레싱 보강 공법의 적용을 위한 기초적인 연구로 프리스트레싱 보강 강판을 콘크리트 교량에 설치하기 위한 고정장치의 마찰저항 강도 실험과 온도 프리스트레싱에 의하여 콘크리트 교량에 도입되는 프리스트레싱 효과의 확인을 위한 응력 도입 실험을 실시하여 제안된 공법을 검증하였다.

위상이동 광탄성법과 멱급수형 응력함수를 이용한 인장시편 중앙 균열선단 주위 응력장 해석 (Analysis of Stress Distribution around a Central Crack Tip in a Tensile Plate Using Phase-Shifting Photoelasticity and a Power Series Stress Function)

  • 본 연구에서는 균열선단 주위의 응력장을 균열선단으로부터 멀리 떨어진 직선상에서 위상이동 광탄성법과 멱급수형 등각사상 맵핑함수를 이용하여 해석하였다. 해석된 광탄성 응력장을 실제의 광탄성프린지와 비교하였다. 정성적인 비교가 용이하도록 디지털 영상처리에 의해 등색프린지 패턴을 2배로 증식시키고, 증식된 프린지를 다시 세선 처리하여 서로 비교하였다. 정량적인 분석을 위하여 각각의 광탄성 측정 데이터와 계산된 프린지에 대한 퍼센트 오차와 멱급수형 응력함수의 항의 수에 따른 퍼센트 오차에 대한 표준편차를 비교하였다. 응력함수의 항의 수를 변화시켰을 때 표준편차를 계산하였다. 해석 결과 모드I 응력확대계수는 유한요소법과 경험식으로 계산한 값과 2% 이내로 근접하였다.

  • 교량의 보강공법으로 주로 사용되는 외부강봉을 이용한 후인장공법은 적용범위가 넓고 교량의 극한 및 항복에 대한 강성을 증가시켜 휨 보강 효과가 뛰어나지만, 모재접합부의 응력집중, 비효율적인 하중분배, 고정앵커부설치, 유지관리의 어려움 등의 단점이 있다. 본 연구는 기존의 외부강봉을 이용한 후인장공법이 가지는 단점을 보완하고 강판접합공법의 장점을 접목한 새로운 개념의 보강공법으로 커버플레이트의 열변형 특성을 이용한 다단계 프리스트레싱 보강공법을 제안하고자 한다. 커버플레이트의 열변형 특성을 이용한 다단계 프리스트레싱 보강공법은 커버플레이트를 다단계로 가열하여 가열단계별로 거더의 하부플랜지에 고장력볼트로 접합한 뒤, 열원을 제거하여 발생하는 다단계 수축력을 보강에 필요한 프리스트레싱력으로 이용하는 보강공법이다. 커버플레이트의 다단계 프리스트레싱에 의한 보강효과는 커버플레이트의 온도분포와 가열구간에 따라 결정되므로 본 연구에서는 커버플레이트의 열전달 모형실험 및 강거더 모형 실험을 통하여 커버플레이트의 열전달해석과 프리스트레스 도입효과를 분석하였으며, 단경간 강거더 교량을 대상으로 제안된 보강공법의 효율성 및 적용성을 검토하였다.
