수분개선제로 폐신문지를 이용한 가정쓰레기의 퇴비화 (Composting of Compostable Wet Household Wastes Using Waste Newspapers as Humidity Amendment)

  • 음식물쓰레기는 높은 수분함량 때문에 퇴비화에 상당한 어려움이 있다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 퇴비화를 위하여 제작된 소형 퇴비화 용기에 신문지와 음식 쓰레기를 1:7(질량비)의 비율로 혼합하여 투입하고 퇴비화 진행과정에서의 온도, pH, 수분함량 및 유기물함량, 질소량 및 무기물, 중금속함량의 변화를 4계절에 걸쳐 조사하였다. 퇴비화 기간 중 상승한 최대온도는 봄 $66.0^{\circ}C$, 여름 $69.2^{\circ}C$, 가을 $60.9^{\circ}C$, 겨울 $56.0^{\circ}C$로 나타났다. pH변화는 봄${\cdot}$가을철은 1주 후 8.5 전후로 상승하였다가 증감을 반복하였고, 여름${\cdot}$겨울철은 1주 후 8.5로 증가한 후 $8{\sim}9$ 정도로 유지되었다. 수분함량은 겨울을 제외한 3계절은 감소하는 경향이 뚜렷하였으나, 겨울철은 수분 감소가 아주 적었다. 8주 후의 수분함량은 봄 22.2%, 여름 47.6%, 가을 25.5%, 겨울 72.5%이었다. 퇴비화 원료물질의 질량변화는 4계절 모두 초기 1주는 급격히 감소하였으나, 이후에는 완만하게 감소하는 경향을 보였다. 부피감소는 8주 후 봄 59%, 여름 32%, 가을 27%, 겨울은 34%였다. 유기물 함량은 4계절 모두 감소하는 경향을 보였다. 총질소 함량은 4계절 모두 $0.7{\sim}2.2%$로 나타났다. 무기성분의 함량은 계절에 관계없이 $P_2O_5\;0.94{\sim}2.59%$, $CaO\;1.23{\sim}1.87%$, $MgO\;0.37{\sim}0.46%$, $K_2O\;0.55{\sim}1.98%$였다. 중금속은 퇴비화 기간에 따른 큰 변화 없이 모두 비료공정규격의 퇴비허용기준 이하였다. Hg, Cd, Pb는 4계절 모두 검출되지 않았고, $Cu\;ND{\sim}25.89mg/kg$, $Cr\;2.69{\sim}14.13mg/kg$, $Zn\;ND{\sim}99.59mg/kg$, $As\;ND{\sim}5.87mg/kg$이었다. 온도변화, 질량변화, 수분함량변화 등의 상기 실험결과를 살펴보았을 때 음식물쓰레기에 분쇄한 신문지를 첨가하는 것이 음식물쓰레기만을 퇴비화했을 때$^{4)}$보다 퇴비화가 더 원활히 이루어진 것으로 판단된다.

알루미늄 표면에 생물막의 형성인자 및 항균제에 의한 생물막 제거효과 분석 (Study of Formation Factor of Biofilm on Aluminum surface and Removal Efficiency of Biofilm by Antimicrobials)

  • 에어컨을 작동 시 악취가 심하게 느껴지는 차량 25대에서 총 108종의 미생물(곰팡이 79종, 세균 29종)이 분리되었으며, 곰팡이 43종, 세균 23종이 동정되었다. 차량 내 에어컨 작동 시 발생하는 응축수를 분석한 결과 pH 6.4~7.1, 탄소원 12.5~34.2 mg/L, 질소원 0.9~18.6 mg/L, 이온성분 0.5~27.8 mg/L, 미네랄성분 0.1~7.7 mg/L로 분석되었다. 생물막은 중온성 세균에 의해 여름철 온 습도 조건($26^{\circ}C$, 70% R.H.)에서 형성되었고, 생물막을 인위적으로 제거하더라도 환경인자(영양성분 및 온 습도)가 적합하면 재생됨이 확인되었다. 항균제의 항균 활성은 부유성 세균에 대해 15분 이내에 99.9%의 균 감소율을 보였지만, 항균제의 생물막 제거효과는 없었다. 항균제를 처리한 차량 내에서는 에탄올 성분이 최대 1,940 ppmv이 검출되었고, 에탄올의 흡입 시 급성독성치 보다는 작았지만, 사용된 화학물질들의 인체 안전성에 대한 검토가 필요하다.

핀-튜브 열교환기와 알루미늄 열교환기의 전열성능과 압력강하 특성비교 (Comparison of Heat Transfer Performance and Pressure Drop of Fin-Tube and Aluminum Heat Exchangers)

  • 본 논문에서는 루버형 핀 형상을 가진 핀-튜브 열교환기와 알루미늄 평행류 열교환기의 에어컨 응축기 조건에서의 열전달 성능과 공기측 압력강하 특성을 비교하였다. 모든 실험은 ASHRAE 표준에 근거해 제작된 공기엔탈피형 칼로리미터를 사용하여 수행하였다. 관외 측 공기 속도는 0.7-1.6 m/s까지 0.3 m/s 간격으로 변화시켰으며 건구온도는 $20^{\circ}C$, 상대습도는 60%로 유지하였다. 관내 측 물의 입구온도는 $70^{\circ}C$, 유량은 10 LPM로 고정하였다. 알루미늄 열교환기의 열전달 성능은 루버 핀-튜브 열교환기보다 단위체적당, 단위질량당, 단위열전달면적당 약 17-163%정도 높게 나타나는 연구결과를 보였으며 반면에 공기측 압력강하는 핀-튜브 열교환기에 비해 약 19-81% 정도 낮게 나타났다.

  • Due to the environmental problems caused by the greenhouse effect, regulation of $CO_2$ emissions is getting stronger day by day. In paricular, regulations of automobiles $CO_2$ emissions are being strengthen. However, existing $CO_2$ measurement methods do not reflect the environment and operating conditions on actual roads. Emissions of $CO_2$ can be increased by various conditions such as environmental condition(temperature and humidity) and driver's tendency(aggressive and passive). Therefore it is necessary to reflect the conditions of various actual roads such as 5-cycle test method on behalf of the existing $CO_2$ emission measurement method. The 5-cycle measurement method has five test modes; FTP-75, HWFET, US06, SC03, Cold FTP-75. The method reflects the following three environments and operating conditions as compared to conventional method; Using heater at low temperature, Aggressive driving such as rapid acceleration or deceleration, Using air conditioner at high temperature. Because of these various conditions of each test cycle, the 5-cycle method can reflect actual environments and operating conditions. This paper attempt to analyze $CO_2$ emission characteristics based on the results measured through the 5-cycle mode and develop the correction formula that can derive the results of the 5-cycle test method using existing test methods. As a result, the developed correction formula is expected to reduce $CO_2$ emissions and cut down expense for testing 5-cycle mode.

Effects of various cooling methods and drinking water temperatures on reproductive performance and behavior in heat stressed sows

  • The purpose of this study is to evaluate the effects of multiple cooling systems and different drinking water temperatures (DWT) on the performance of sows and their hair cortisol levels during heat stress. In this study, the effect of four different cooling systems: air conditioner (AC), cooling pad (CP), snout cooling (SC), and mist spray (MS), and two DWT, namely low water temperature (LWT) and high water temperature (HWT) on 48 multiparous sows (Landrace × Yorkshire; 242.84 ± 2.89 kg) was tested. The experiment is based on the use of eight replicas during a 21-days test. Different behaviors were recorded under different cooling treatments in sows. As a result, behaviors such as drinking, standing, and position change were found to be lower in sows under the AC and CP treatments than in those under the SC and MS treatments. Lying behavior increased under the AC and CP systems as compared with that under the SC and MS, systems. The average daily feed intake (ADFI) in sows and weight at weaning in piglets was higher under the AC, CP, and LWT treatments than under the SC, MS and HWT treatments. Sows subjected to SC and MS treatment showed higher hair cortisol levels, rectal temperature, and respiratory rate during lactation than those under AC and CP treatments. Hair cortisol levels, rectal temperature, and respiratory rate were also higher under the HWT than under the LWT treatment. As per the results of this study, the LWT has no significant effect on any of the behavioral factors. Taken together, the use of AC and CP cooling treatment is highly recommended to improve the behavior and to reduce the stress levels in lactating sows.

AWS IoT 와 MQTT 기반 스마트 홈 시스템 구현 (Implementation of Smart Home System based on AWS IoT and MQTT)

  • 본 논문은 AWS IoT 서비스 및 MQTT 기반 스마트 홈 시스템의 구현 사례를 소개한다. 본 연구에서 구현한 스마트 홈 시스템은 온도와 습도를 모니터링 할 수 있고 그에 따라 에어컨 난방 등을 수동 혹은 자동으로 온도 조절이 가능하며 카메라로 방문자를 확인하고 도어록을 원격으로 제어 할 수 있다. 구현된 스마트홈 시스템은 아두이노를 이용하여 도어록, 난방, 전등 및 에어컨을 제어하며 수집된 데이터와 제어정보는 AWS IoT 서비스를 이용하여 관리한다. 본 연구에서는 사용자가 원격에서 IoT 기기들을 제어할 수 있도록 안드로이드 앱을 개발하였으며, 앱과 AWS IoT 서버 및 아두이노 사이의 데이터 통신 및 제어를 위해 MQTT 프로토콜을 이용하였다. 또한 센서 및 기기들을 추가할 수 있도록 확장성을 갖는 AWS IoT 서비스 기반으로 구현되었다.

음식쓰레기 퇴비화 과정에서 석탄회 첨가 효과 (Effects of Coal Fly Ash on Composting Process of Household Garbage)

  • 가정에서 발생되는 음식쓰레기의 높은 수분함량 때문에 원활한 퇴비화가 어렵다. 따라서 본 논문은 가정 쓰레기 퇴비화 수분조절제로서 석탄회의 이용가능성을 알아보고자 하였다. 결과를 요약하면 아래와 같다. 1. 퇴비화기간동안 최고 상승온도는 봄철 $35^{\circ}C$, 여름철 $47^{\circ}C$ 그리고 겨울철 $43^{\circ}C$이었다. 2. 질량은 60일후 70.5% 감소되었으며, 부피는 평균 74.7% 감소되었다. 3. pH의 변화는 3계절 모두 비슷한 경향을 보였으며, 60일 후의 pH는 8.5 였다. 4. 수분함량은 퇴비화 초기에 감소 경향을 보인 후 점차 거의 일정하였다. 60일 후 퇴비의 수함량은 봄철 49.7%, 여름철 33.9%, 겨울철 56.5%였다. 회분함량은 퇴비기간동안은 큰 변화가 없었다. 5. 무기성분 함량은 $P_2O_5$ $0.06{\sim}4.03%$, CaO $0.01{\sim}2.87%$, MgO $0.18{\sim}1.43%$, $K_2O$ $0.39{\sim}2.03%$였다. 각종 중금속 함량은 Hg $ND{\sim}14.08{\mu}g/kg$, Cd $ND{\sim}0.80mg/kg$, Cu $4.99{\sim}28.95mg/kg$, Cr $ND{\sim}242.62mg/kg$, Pb $ND{\sim}20.24mg/kg$, Zn $ND{\sim}59.87mg/kg$이었다.

섬바디의 건조에 관한 연구 (Study on Seombody Drying)

  • An experimental work was conducted to develop an optimum operating system of various hay drying systems ; sun-drying with long hay, sun-drying after chopping, sun-drying after crushing, heated air drying after chopping using batch-type dryer and heated air drying after crushing using tunnel-type dryer. Seombody having 60 cm long and initial moisture content of approximately 79 % in wet basis was used for the experiment. The criteria selected for determining the optimum operating condition were the drying performance rate, the production cost and quality of dried matter of each drying systems. The result of this study are summarized as follows : 1. Drying characteristics of leaves of long stem hay, chopped seombody and crushed one were obtained by maintaining the oven temperature at 70 degrees centigrade. The required drying times for various samples to approximately 15% moisture content in wet basis were about 50 min .for leaves ; 160 min. for crushed hay ; 250 min. for chopped hay ; 340min. for ling hay and more than 360 min .for stems. The drying time of crushed hay was required about 50 % of that for the uncrushed long hay. Such a significant difference of drying of time between the leaf and long stem may indicate that an effective drying of seombody may not be achieved unless any kind of special process treatment for the whole hay is undertaken. 2. In each individual drying system, the following conclusions were drawn: a. After 8 days sun-drying on concrete floor under good days with average tempe?rature at $256{\circ}C$ and relative humidity at 55% at 2 P.M., the moisture content of long hay was still above 25 5'~ and the leaf loss during drying caused by wind and rough handling was more than 50 ~G. b. It was possible to dry the chopped seombody by sun-drying down to about 10 % moisture content within 5 days, however, a stock of heat and discolouration phenomena were observed during the drying, which may be due to the increased deposit-density by chopping, resulting in lowering the quality of the dried product. c. Sun-drying for the crushed material by hay-conditioner was required about 4 days to reduce the moisture content to about 10 %, keeping the quality of dried product at good grade. o. The optimum deposit-depth of the chopped seombody in the batch-type dryer used was about 28cm with about 42kg/hr of drying performance rate. However, it was necessary to overturn the materials between the upper and lower layers in order to obtain a good quality of dried product. d. The drying performance rate by the tunnel-type drier was highest among those of drying systems tested, giving the rate of approximately 400kg/day. 3. On reviewing the individual drying system for seombody, it was possible to draw conclusion that the best system was tunnel drying with the crushed seombody as far as the performance rate was concerned. However, the methods gives the highest operational cost. The system for the lowest operational cost with good quality of dried product was the sun-drying with the crushed material. Accordingly, it may be recommended that the system of sun-drying for the crushed seombody may be the most feasible system presently applicable to farm-level operation.

공조시스템 개선에 따른 하절기 선실 온열환경 평가 및 유류절감에 관한 연구 - 실습선 새누리호를 중심으로 - (A Study on the Evaluation of Cabin Thermal Environment and Marine Fuels for Fuel Saving in Summer According to the Improvement of Air Conditioning System - The Case of Training Ship SAENURI -)

  • 본 연구에서는 목포해양대학교의 실습선 새누리호를 대상으로 선박의 중앙집중 공조시스템에 공랭식 에어컨을 직접 설치하여 성능을 개선시킨 공기조화시스템으로 운전하였을 경우의 냉방 성능을 비교하고, 선실의 온열환경에 대한 실측조사를 통해서 향후 선박용 공기조화 설계 및 계획에 경험적 기초참고자료로 활용하고자 하는 것이다. 연구결과 동일한 외기조건에서 기존의 중앙집중방식 공조시스템과 개선된 공조시스템으로 운전하였을 경우, 모든 선실의 온도는 $24{\sim}28^{\circ}C$, 습도는 55~75 %로 쾌적한 조건임을 알 수 있었고, 발전기 부하를 측정결과 공기조화시스템의 성능개선에 따라 평균 부하 48 KW, 전부하시 부하율 약 8 %정도 감소하여 1일 연료소모량 FOC는 하루 평균 222[L/day]의 기름이 절약됨을 알 수 있었다. 또한 학생 선실(Cadet No. 21)은 기관실의 전열로 인해서 온도가 높게 나타났는데, 이것은 공기조화 설계 시 취출구 개수 및 전열부하를 고려하지 못한 결과로 판단된다.
