A luxury brand bag is a medium to symbolize brand identity and plays a role in enhancing brand value. A typical example is a designer signature bag such as Hermes Kelly Bag, Birkin Bag, and Lady Dior Bag. The purpose of this study is to analyze the design changes and acceptance of identity of luxury brand bags and examine the design characteristics that succeed to the value of a luxury brand bag. The subjects of the study focused on Louis Vuitton, Gucci, and Chanel bags. Photos were collected from www.vogue.co. uk. based on the fashion collections from S/S 2007 to S/S 2016. The study methodology was to analyze the kinds, shapes, colors, materials, and the ornament of subject bags based on previous studies. The results of the study were summarized as follows. For the identity and design changes of each brand, Chanel has tried to combine functionality pursued in the past with constantly changing femininity by making bags in fantastic moods using various materials and free shapes. Gucci has constantly used Ornament elements holding the brand identity of classic bags and trend colors to keep tradition. Louis Vuitton holds fast to its functional shape to protect brand identity through design philosophy that started with a travel luggage and attempts to express modern emotion through Ornament changes. This study confirmed that luxury brands have accepted their unique design characteristics holding brand identity to improve their brand value and attempted to change constructive elements in many different ways for modern reinterpretation.

Also, hedonic attributes of product and place have stronger effect on brand loyalty in comparison with utilitarian attributes.
The purpose of this study was to examine the impact of offering brand-name fast food at schools on student participation in school lunch. Two studies were conducted in Indiana, USA. In the first study, daily participation rate of 42 Indiana schools were compared between the days when brand-name fast food were offered and when they were not offered. The impact of brand-name fast food service on school lunch participation differed depending on the types of service offering brand-name fast food. Offering brand-name fast food solely as part of reimbursable meals or a-la-carte items was shown to induce students to the lunch option where brand-name fast food was offered. The second study examined the relationship of brand-name fast food service to monthly participation rate by analyzing secondary data of 1,282 Indiana schools using multiple regression analysis. Offering brand-name fast food was associated with monthly participation rate in school lunch only when schools offered them solely a-la-carte. Based on the results of two studies, it was concluded that offering brand-name fast food induced students from other lunch options to the options where brand-name fast food was offered on the day of service. However, increased or decreased participation in school lunch only on a few days could have not impacted average school lunch participation over a month. It is recommended that schools planning to offer brand-name fast food should make it available as part of reimbursable school lunches so that usual school lunch eaters would not be distracted to a-la-carte lines. This study identified the internal motives for the purchase behavior of Korean male consumers in multi-brand fashion stores by conducting in-depth interviews with 8 men in their 20s and 30s. All respondents had significant experience with this type of store. Data were analyzed in an inductive way and compared with Bohemianism to interpret and described the results as a recent phenomenon of men's fashion. The five internal motives were extracted from analysis: the pursuit of freedom of expression, the counter-cultural resistance to department stores and domestic fashion brands, which tend to copy designs from international brands, the pursuit of mobility and adventure for trying to search and wear a new fashion style, the pursuit of pleasure through store experience, and the pursuit of artistic value by considering goods purchased in multi-brand fashion stores as artistic and cultural goods.
In this study, we develop a scale to measure brand image attributes related to the symbolic use of fashion brands, and then, test the validity and reliability of the scale. In Study 1, a comprehensive literature review was conducted to generate the initial set of measurement items. Nominal Group Technique was subsequently conducted to refine the measurement items in a qualitative way. In Study 2, an expert survey was performed to further refine the measurement items in a quantitative way. In Study 3, a consumer survey was performed to determine the final set of measurement items and validate it. The scale of brand attribute symbolism consists of 21 items with six factors (i.e., Strength, Intellect, Cheerfulness, Traditional Femininity, Nature, and Affordability). The six-factor, 21-item scale is found valid and reliable. Implications, limitations of this study, and suggestions for future research are also discussed.
The purpose of this study is to find the differences among the clothing brands through examination of present situation about uniform design in domestic coffee houses and provide the basic materials in developing uniform designs to reflect the brand identity. For research contents and method, the overall circumstances were examined about the domestic coffee houses and their uniforms at large via literature review. Then, characteristics on their 10 uniform designs were reviewed according to item, color, pattern and accessary. The following are results. First, cardigan, cap, and necktie according to the individual brand are added with basis of shirt and apron in composition of coffeehouse's uniform. Second, in cardigan, those colors including black, navy and brown are used, reminding of the coffee. Brand logo or symbol is also presented on it, which addresses the brand image. Third, the kind of shirt consists mainly with long or short shirt blouse and long sleeve or short sleeve pique shirt. Job title or gender differentiates the shape and color. Fourth, one-piece type is commonly applied for the apron. At the same time, a short skirt is put on as well. An image expression is often found by the unique brand color also, but mostly, some dark tones like brown or black are largely used. Fifth, in cap, various kinds are worn including the cap as in the case of baseball, fedora, beret, and hunting cap. In color, black or brown color same to that of apron is common, which fails to show differentiation. Thus, consideration of color remix with application of brand symbol is thought to be an alternative to this.
