This study examined types and color conditions of street views through relationship of high-storied apartment house to street components which has great visual influence on urban street view and requires harmony with street environment as background factor and conducted positive experiment with high-storied apartment houses located at housing site development districts in Gwangju Metropolitan City since 1990s in order to set applicable color ranges in designing external colors of high-storied apartment houses which became background of street view by types. Consequently, in image changes of four factors of main colors in classified street types, P, RP, R and YR colors showed high average values in naturalness, harmony and unity and GY, G, BG and B colors showed dichotomy with low average value, but image of personality showed generally low average value. RP, R and YR colors showed higher adaptability and GY, G and BG colors showed lower adaptability. It was confirmed that according to adaptability of main colors used in high-storied apartment houses by street types, there was difference of appropriate color range in street components and external colors of high-storied apartment houses by street types.

This article aimed at understanding the characteristics of Swedish furniture design since 1980s in the reference to the major paradigm changes in the contemporary design field. For this, the authors examined the theoretical background of modern and post-modern design paradigms to identify today's design tendencies. And we used this frame in the analysis of the latest examples of Swedish furniture design. The main characteristics of Swedish furniture design since 1980s included 'furniture as art object', 'the succession of the Swedish Modern (neo-modernism)', and 'conscious design for sustainable development'. These could be viewed as the consequences of the choices that the Swedish furniture industry and designers made during the last decade, that was to take plurality and contradiction as the accompanying values of the traditional Swedish modern design.

Giuseppe Terragni was one of the founding member and a leading Italian Rationalist pursued a new and more rational synthesis between the nationalistic values of Italian Classicism and structural logic of the machine age. Casa Giuliani Frigerio, a four-story apartment housing in Como, is one of his last major work and is worth to investigate the composition of facades in terms of ambiguity. Unlike the Casa del Fascio, it is never possible to read an priori whole and to allow static and unified readings in a traditional alignment. Due to its misalignments found within the facades of Casa Giuliani Frigerio, it is evident to present unstable and disjunctive readings. These distinctive facades are read as layers applied onto some equally unstable underlying layer and form an ensemble of unexpected unity.

Recently, the studio which is urban housing form is rapidly growing up by new residential space according to increasing 1~2 person households form because of Modern members who have changing patterns of life and diversification of social values. The resident of the studio who lives or uses the space for a work such as students, office worker and soho-jok has various characters by a society nature changes and a regional peculiarity. The studio form and function is getting change according to variety trend changes and their life styles. The role and use of residential space also have variety such as the resident who lives in the studio. This study is to find the space utilization for them and reasonable housing solution in that structure, furniture and Wall Storage System of existing studio which is based on the common life patterns. The study's purpose is to propose the furniture design of changeable Wall Storage System according to the analysis.

This study aimed at quantifying the impact of envelope insulation on energy consumption for thermal controls in residential buildings in southern part of Korea. A series of parametric simulations for a range of R-values of walls, roof, floor, and windows were computationally conducted for a prototypical Korean detached house. Analysis revealed that the total amount of heat gain was larger than that of heat loss, while the amount of energy for cooling was smaller than that for heating due to the difference of system efficiency; the envelope heat transfer was more significant for the heat loss, thus, the increase of the envelope insulation was more effective to reduce heating load; and there were certain levels of envelope insulation after which the energy saving effect was not significant. These findings are expected to be a fundamental database for the decision of proper insulation level in Korean residential buildings.

104 village has kept the landscape of low-income settlements at hillside village as called 'Daldongnae' since 1960s. It has high urban and social values in modern housing history of Korea. This study is to analyze the basic type, transformed type of street facade and also the meaning in the modern housing history. It analyzes basic elements(building elevation, gate, fence) and subsidiary elements(roof form, door, window), and the type of street facade by the composition of the element.

본 연구는 '소비자중심'의 주거문화를 모색하기 위해 한국사회 신세대소비자의 주거 가치와 관련요인에 대해 수도권의 20~35세 남녀를 대상으로 자기기입식 질문지를 이용하여 실증연구하였고 주요 연구결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 14개 주거가치에 대해 전반적으로 중요 하다는 응답이 대부분이었다. 둘째, 주거가치의 요인분석결과 4개 특성이 추출되었고 두 맥 락으로 접근할 수 있었다 하나는 후기 산업사회로의 발전과 함께 중요하게 인식되는 주거가 치특성으로 외부환경의 편리성과 인간성 회복 인접환경의 안전과 프라이버시 내부환경의 편 리성과 아름다움을 중시하는 주거가치가 이에 속한다. 이주거가치들은 신세대소비자에게 매 우 강하게 형성되어 있었으며 공통적으로 신세대가치관이 강할수록 더 강한 것으로 나타났 다. 다음은 전통적으로 중요시된 주거가치로서 위신과 경제성 주거가치이다 이는 비교적 낮 은 수준으로 나타났으며 신세대가치관이 약할수록 더 강하게 나타났다.

The purpose of this study was identifying the essential concept of home of middle class and aged housewives by using a critical incident methodology. All 30 subjects participated in structured interviews designed to elicit statements describing the attributes of home and non-home environment. The qualities of comfort, place-attachment, self-expression, fundamental values and personal identity, social relationships, economic value, and a suitable physical structure were associated with home environments, and were absent in residences which were not regarded as homes.

Polymeric suspended insulators for the electric track line have been developed. The main elements to design polymeric insulators are the insulation ability related with materials of FRP core and housing, and the optimal structure related with fitting parts and interface characteristics. To confirm the design fitness of insulator samples the electric field distribution by FEM and mechanical stress distribution by NASTRAN program was analysed with housing shed shapes and fitting structure. The leakage distance and breakage voltage properties which are core parameters to determine electric insulation ability are selected according to the requirement values of user specification, then the power frequency wet withstand voltage was specified above 22kV and the leakage distance was required above 290mm. The contamination condition of the electric track line was the heavy class according to IEC 815 in order to retain the enough safety margin against overvoltages.

It is said that primary territories such as homes are ercellent examples of how we useterritories to portray ourselves to others. The homes often display openly the personality and values of its occupants. At the same time, as far as childrens' privacy in the household environment is concerned, the range of privacy options generally increases from adolescence on because there is more freedom from parents' supervision at this age period. Children are subject to perpetual intrusion because they are defined as dependents. As long as they continue in this role, they are viewed as, at best, semi-autenomous. In this paper, the authors carried out amd analized some cases specifically to see thestatistical data reported previously more intensively. The results of the analysis are as following; 1) Kids who have bed-rooms of their own(exclusively) seems to be encouraged to invite their friends in more openly and freely than those who share the same bed-room. 2) Social interaction among members of family seems tn be carried cut more frequently and closely in the extended family than in the conjugal family.
