This paper performs analysis the load patterns for the all the special days and studies the change of the load patterns for the last 15 years using Expert system based on the load record and the weather condition record. The Expert system is one of the four major load forecasting methods of the power system And it is used for forecasting. loads of the special days based on the Know-how of the load forecasting Experts. After the author simulates the load forecasting using hourly relative factors of the load patterns based on the past load records, there is considerable improved effect. The average errors of past 5 days load forecasting of lunar New Year's Day (year 2002 and 2003) is $3.23{[\%]}$. Using the new method the author forecast loads of the lunar new year's days (the year 2005) and it shows only $1.78{[\%]}$ error. A field manual for the load forecast can be made using proposed method. The authors expect this article could give a guidance to those who wish to be load forecast expert.
This study was conducted to investigate the relation between ozone concentration and the affecting factors in Seosan City of Korea from Jan. 2002 to Dec. 2002. We analyzed the air pollutants such as NO$_2$, PM$_{10} $,SO$_2$, CO and the meteorological factors including solar radiation, air temperature, wind speed and relative humidity. The analytical data were taken statistics by SPSS method. The results were as follows: The seasonal average concentration of ozone were detected 35.0 ppb in Spring, 25.4 ppb in Summer, 23.5 ppb in Autumn and 21.4 ppb in Winter. So the difference of concentrations showed significantly in statistics. The hourly ozone concentration in a day was increased at 7-9 AM, peaked at 3-4 PM. The correlation coefficients was negative to ozone concentration and NO$_2$, SO$_2$, CO, relative humidity, but positive to solar radiation, air temperature, wind speed. With stepwise multiple regression analysis on the 8 factors such as NO$ _2$, PMSO$_{10}$,SO$_2$, CO, solar radiation, air temperature, wind speed and relative humidity, the seasonal primary factors were air temperature in spring, relative humidity in summer and solar radiation in autumn and winter. The above results suggest that ozone is the secondary pollutant by photochemical reaction as the concentration of ozone was increased with the raise of solar radiation.
This study was performed to determine proper fan and heater management schemes for natural air drying of rough rice in round steel bin with stirring device under Korean weather conditions. A computer simulation model was developed to predict moisture content changes, energy requirements, and drymatter losses during drying of rough rice by natural air. Drying test was conducted to validate the simulation model using round steel bin of holding capacity of 300ton at Rice Processing Complex in Jincheon. The bin was filled with rough rice every day and mixing by stirring device. Moisture contents, ambient air temperatures, relative humidities, static pressures in plenum chamber in the bin, airflow rates, and electrical and fuel energy were measured. Relative errors of moisture content changes predicted by the simulation model were below 5ft, and relative errors of final moisture content, final grain weight, required energy ranged from 0.9% to 6%. These not levels indicated that the simulation model can satisfactorily predict the performance factors of natural air drying system such as drying rates and energr consumptions comparing error level of 10% to 15% in other drying simulation models generally used in dryer desists. Twelve different fan and heater management schemes were evaluated using the computer simulation model based on three hourly weather data from Suweon for the period of 1952-1994. The best management schemes were selected comparing the drymatter losses, required drying times, required energy consumptions. Operating fan without heating only when ambient relative humidity was below 85% or 90% appeared to be the most effective method of In operation in favorable drying weather. Under adverse drying climates or to reduce required drying time, operating fan continuously, and heating air with $1.5^{\circ}C$ temperature rise only when ambient relative humidity was over 85% appeared to be the most suitable method.

Humidity is an important parameter in meteorology and is closely related to weather, human health, and the environment. Due to the limitations of the number of observation stations and other factors, humidity data are often not as good as expected, so high-resolution humidity fields are of great interest and have been the object of desire in the research field and industry. This study presents a novel super-resolution algorithm for humidity fields based on the Wasserstein generative adversarial network(WGAN) framework, with the objective of enhancing the resolution of low-resolution humidity field information. WGAN is a more stable generative adversarial networks(GANs) with Wasserstein metric, and to make the training more stable and simple, the gradient cropping is replaced with gradient penalty, and the network feature representation is improved by sub-pixel convolution, residual block combined with convolutional block attention module(CBAM) and other techniques. We evaluate the proposed algorithm using ERA5 relative humidity data with an hourly resolution of 0.25°×0.25°. Experimental results demonstrate that our approach outperforms not only conventional interpolation techniques, but also the super-resolution generative adversarial network(SRGAN) algorithm.

This study is carried out to determine the concentration of the ozone and the factors affecting the variation of ozone concentration in the ambient air in Seoul. The one-hour average concentration of ozone $(O_3)$, sulfur dioxide $(SO_2)$, nitrogen oxides (NO and $NO_2$), suspended particulate (TSP), carbon monoxide (CO) and non-methane hydrocarbon (NMHC) at 5 sites in Seoul measured from September to October in 1983 and 1984 were analysed statistically along with meteorological data for the same period. The results were as follows; 1. The average concentrations of ozone at 5 sites during the period ranged from 3.3 to 9.1 ppb, they were below 20 ppb of the ambient air quality standard of Korea. 2. The maximum hourly concentration of ozone occurred between 2 and 3 p.m. in a day and concentration at night were very low but higher concentrations were observed at around 4 a.m. 3. The concentration ratio between NO and $NO_2$ in Seoul was relatively lower than that for the cities of foreign countries reported so far. 4. The ozone concentration has negative correlationships with the concentration of other primary pollutants$(SO_2, NO, NO_2, CO and NMHC)$ in simple regression analyses. 5. The ozone concentration was positively correlated to wind speed, temperature and insolation intensity but negatively correlated to relative humidity. 6. Stepwise multiple regression analysis of the ozone concentration to the pollutants and meteorological factors indicate that insolation intensity and $[NO_2]/[NO]$ were the primary influencing factors. 7. The three factors of insolation intensity, $[NO_2]/[NO] and NO_2$ concentration had a significant combined effect on the ozone concentration $(r^2 = 0.47-0.57)$.

The concentration of atmospheric mercury(Hg0 and relevent environmental parameters that include both meteorological and criteria pollutant data were dtermined at hourly intervals during two field campaigns covering the periods of September 1997 and May/June 1998. The mean concentrations of Hg for the two study periods were computed as 3.94 and 3.43ngm-3, respectively. Through a separation of these data into both daytime and nighttime periods, we further analyzed diurnal variation patterns for Hg between two different seasons. Using our Hg data sets, we were able to recognize two contrasting diurnal variation patterns of Hg between two diffeerent seasons that can be characterized as: (1) the occurrences of peak Hg concentration during daytime(fall0 and (2) slight reductions in daytime Hg concentration relative to nighttiime Hg data(summer). To study the systematic differences in diurnal patterns between two different seasons, we analyzed Hg data in terms of different statistical approaches such as correlation(and linear regression0 and factor analysis. Results of these analyses consistently indicated that different mechanisms were responsible for controlling the daytime distribution patterns of Hg. The variation of boundary layer conditions betwen day/night periods may have been important in introducing the relative reduction in daytime Hg levels during summer. However, when the relationship between Hg and concurrently determined O3 is concerned, these differences are unlikely to be an effective sink mechanism within the ranges of ozone concentrations determined concurrently during this study, regardless of season. To further provide the general account for short-term variations in Hg distribution data, we should be able to describe the various factors underlying its sink mechanism.
The aerosol chemical components in $PM_{2.5}$ in several regions (Seoul, Busan, Daejeon, and Jeju Island) were investigated with regard to their concentration characteristics and optical properties. The optical properties of the various aerosol components (e.g., water-soluble, insoluble, Black Carbon (BC), and sea-salt) were estimated using hourly and daily aerosol sampling data from the study area via a modeling approach. Overall, the water-soluble component was predominant over all other components in terms of concentration and impact on optical properties (except for the absorption coefficient of BC). The annual mean concentration and Aerosol Optical Ddepth (AOD) of the water-soluble component were highest in Seoul (at the Gwangjin site) ($26{\mu}g/m^3$ and 0.29 in 2013, respectively). Further, despite relatively moderate BC concentrations, the annual mean absorption coefficient of BC ($21.7Mm^{-1}$) was highest in Busan (at the Yeonsan site) in 2013, due to the strong light absorbing ability of BC. In addition, high AODs for the water-soluble component were observed most frequently in spring and/or winter at most of the study sites, while low values were noted in summer and/or early fall. The diurnal variation in the AOD of each component in Seoul (at the Gwangjin site) was slightly high in the morning and low in the afternoon during the study period; however, such distinctions were not apparent in Jeju Island (at the Aweol site), except for a slightly high AOD of the water-soluble component in the morning (08:00 LST). The monthly and diurnal differences in the AOD values for each component could be attributed to the differences in their mass concentrations and Relative Humidities (RH). In a sensitivity test, the AODs estimated under RH conditions of 80 and 90% were factors of 1.2 and 1.7 higher, respectively, than the values estimated using the observed RH.

This paper analyzes the distribution of water vapor pressure and relative humidity in complex terrains by collecting weather observation data at 6 locations in the valley in Jungdae-ri, Ganjeon-myeon, Gurye-gun, Jeolla South Province and 14 locations in Akyang-myeon, Hadong-gun, Gyeongsang South Province, which form a single drainage basin in rural and mountainous regions. Previously estimated water vapor pressure used in the early warning system for agrometeorological hazard and actual water vapor pressure arrived at using the temperature and humidity that were measured at the highest density (1.5 m above ground) at every hour in the valley of Jungdae-ri between 19 December 2014 and 23 November 2015 and in the valley of Akyang between 15 August 2012 and 18 August 2013 were compared. The altitude-specific gradient of the observed water vapor pressure varied with different hours of the day and the difference in water vapor pressure between high and low altitudes increased in the night. The hourly variations in the water vapor pressure in the weather stations of the valley of Akyang with various topographic and ground conditions were caused by factors other than altitude. From the observed data of the study area, a coefficient that adj usts the variation in the water vapor pressure according to the specific difference in altitude and estimates it closer to the actual measured level was derived. Relative humidity was simulated as water vapor pressure estimated against the saturated water vapor pressure, thus, confirming that errors were further reduced using the derived coefficient than with the previous method that was used in the early warning system.

Four different buildings having various wall construction are analyzed for the effect of wall mass on the thermal performance and inside building air and wall temperature transient and also for calculating the energy consumption load. This analytical study was motivated by the experimental work of Burch et al. An analytical solution of one-dimensional, linear, partial differential equations is obtained using the Laplace transform method, Bromwich and modified Bromwich contour method. A simple dynamic model using steady state analysis as simplified methods is developed and results of energy consumption loads are compared with results obtained using the analytical solution. Typical Meteorological Year data are processed to yield hourly average monthly values. This study is conducted using weather data from two different locations in Korea: Daegu having severe weather in summer and winter and Jeju having mild weather almost all year round. There is a significant wall mass effect on the thermal performance of a building in mild weather condition. Buildings of heavyweight construction with insulation show the highest comfort level in mild weather condition. A proportional controller provides the higher comfort level in comparison with buildings using on-off controller. The steady state analysis gives an accurate estimate of energy load for all types of construction. Finally, it appears that both mass and wall insulation are important factors in the thermal performance of buildings, but their relative merits should be decided in each building by a strict analysis of the building layout, weather conditions and site condition.

Hourly measurements of $PM_{2.5}$ mass, organic and elemental carbon (OC and EC), and water-soluble ionic species were made at the air quality intensive monitoring stations in Baengryeongdo (BR) and Seoul (SL) during the winter (December 01~31, 2013) and summer (July 10~23, 2014) periods, to investigate the increase of $PM_{2.5}$ and secondary ionic species and the reasons leading to their increase during the two seasons. During winter, $PM_{2.5}$ and its major chemical species concentrations were higher at SL than at BR. Contribution of organic mass to $PM_{2.5}$ was approximately 1.7 times higher at BR than at SL, but the $NO_3{^-}$ contribution was two times higher at SL. Total concentration of secondary ionic species ($SO{_4}^{2-}$, $NO_3{^-}$, and $NH_4{^+}$) at BR and SL sites accounted for 29.1 and 40.1% of $PM_{2.5}$, respectively. However, during summer, no significant difference in chemical composition of $PM_{2.5}$ was found between the two sites with the exception of $SO{_4}^{2-}$. Total concentration of the secondary ionic species constituted on average 43.9% of $PM_{2.5}$ at BR and 53.0% at SL. A noticeable difference in chemical composition between the two sites during summer was attributed to $SO{_4}^{2-}$, with approximately twofold concentration and 10% higher contribution in SL. Low wind speed and high relative humidity were important factors in secondary formation of water-soluble ionic species during winter at SL, resulting in $PM_{2.5}$ increase. While the secondary formation during summer was attributed to strong photochemical processes in daytime and high relative humidity in nighttime hours. The increase of $PM_{2.5}$ and its secondary ionic species during the winter haze pollution period at SL was mainly caused either by long-range transport (LTP) from the eastern Chinese regions, or by local pollution. However, the increased $SO{_4}^{2-}$ and $NO_3{^-}$ during summer at SL were mainly caused by LTP, photochemical processes in daytime hours, and heterogeneous processes in nighttime hours.
