Characteristics of Temperature, Humidity and PPF Distribution by Covering Method and Environmental Control in Double Covering Greenhouse (이중피복 온실의 피복방법과 환경조절에 따른 온습도 및 광합성유효광량자속 분포 특성)

  • The objective of the present study is to provide data needed to find double covering method to be able to improve environment of temperature, humidity and PPF in tomato greenhouse. The distribution charts of temperature, humidity and PPF which were measured in environment control conditions such as thermal insulation, air heating, roof ventilation and air fog cooling in conventional and air inflated double layers greenhouses were drawn and analysed. The thermal insulation effect of the air inflated greenhouse was the same as that of conventional greenhouse because the temperature between insulation curtain and roof covering material was equal in heating season. The ventilation effect of the air inflated greenhouse was superior to the conventional greenhouse. The temperature distribution in the fog cooled greenhouse was uniform and the cooling effect was about $3.5^{\circ}C$. The condensation on the roof covering surface could be controlled by removing the moisture between insulation curtain and roof covering by using humidifier. The PPF of conventional greenhouse was more decreased than the air inflated greenhouse as time went by because the transmittance of conventional greenhouse declined by dust collected on the inside plastic film owing to rolling up and down operation for ventilation.

  • This Paper deals with the experimental study of the axisymmetric air jet impinging vertically on the flat heating surface with and without swirl. The purpose of this study is to investigate the characteristics of flow, augmentation of heat transfer rate, turbulent intensity, and the comparison of heat transfer rate, the optimal swirling condition about the swirl and nonswirl axisymmetric air jet. In order to augment the heat transfer on the flat heating surface without introducing any additional power, the technique used in the present work was placement of twisted tape inserted pipe in front of the nozzle exit in order to make a swirl. The effect of swirl degree is investigated in case of S=0., 0.056, 0.111, 0.222 and the velocity of the jet was 14, 20, 26, 32, 38, 44m/s. The distance between the nozle exit and the stagnation point on the impinging plate was the H/D=$1{\sim}14$. In order to analyze of the flow structure which increase heat transfer, the velocity and the turbulent intensity of the axisymmetric jet was measured by a hot wire anemometer according to the swirl number and H/D.

Effect of Reverse Transformation Treatment on the Formation of Retained Austenite and Mechanical Properties of C-Mn TRIP Steels (C-Mn계 TRIP강의 잔류오스테나이트 생성과 기계적 성질에 미치는 역변태처리의 영향)

  • The high strength steel sheets has been widely used as the automobile parts to reduce the weight of a vehicle. The aim of this research is to develop the TRIP aided high strength low carbon steels using reverse transformation process. The 0.15C-4Mn and 0.15C-6.5Mn steel sheets were reversely transformed by slow heating to intercritical temperature region and air cooling to room temperature. The stability of retained austenite depends on the enrichment of carbon and manganese by diffusion during the reverse transformation. The amount of retained austenite formed after reversely transformed at $645^{\circ}C$ for 12 hrs. was about 46vol.% in hot rolled 0.lC-6.5Mn steel. The change in volume fraction of retained austenite with a holding temperature was consistent with the changes in elongation and the strength-ductility combination. The tendency of tensile strength to increase with increasing the holding temperature was due to the decrease of retained austenite after cooling from the higher temperature of $670 ^{\circ}C$. The maximum strength-ductility combination was about 4,250 kg/$\textrm{mm}^2$ㆍ% when the hot rolled 0.lC-6.5Mn steel was reversely transformed at $645^{\circ}C$ for 12 hrs.

  • The electricity conversion-efficiency of solar cell for commercial application is about 6-15%. More than 85% of the incoming solar energy is either reflected or absorbed as heat energy. Consequently, the working temperature of the photovoltaic cells increases considerably after prolonged operations and the cell's efficiency drops significantly. PV/T refers to the integration of a PV module and a solar thermal collector in a single piece of equipment. By cooling the PV module with a fluid steam like air or water, the electricity yield can be improved. At the same time, the heat pick-up by the fluid can be to support space heating or service hot-water systems. In this study, a pulsating heat pipe solar heat collector was combined with single-crystal silicon photovoltaic cell in hybrid energy-generating unit that simultaneously produced low temperature heat and heat and electricity. This experiment was investigating thermal and electrical efficiency for evaluation of a PV/T system.

  • 1. LPG 온풍기는 용량 16$\times$$10^4$ ㎉ 건타입가스버너, 연소부 및 열교환부, 6개의 50kgLPG탱크와 자동절체기, 가스메타, 배관으로 구성하였다. LPG 온풍기의 이론연소효율은 91%, $CO_2$ 배출량은 11.74%, CO배출량은 0ppm, 과잉공기비는 1.16, 배기가스온도는 253$^{\circ}C$, 온풍온도는 8$0^{\circ}C$로서 우수한 성능으로 나타났다. 2. LPG온풍기에서 배출되는 배기가스중의 $CO_2$ 를 온실로 공급하기 위하여 $CO_2$ 공급기를 제작하여 배출가스연도에 부착하였다. $CO_2$ 공급기는 흡입형 시로코팬(1200㎥/h)과 차단문으로 이루어졌다. 1-2W형 300평 온실내의 $CO_2$ 농도를 1000ppm으로 올리기 위해서는 $CO_2$ 공급기를 약 1시간 정도 운전시켜야 할 것으로 판단되었다. 3. LPG온풍기와 경유온풍기의 경제성 비교분석에 의하면 현 시점의 경유 가격 242원, LP가스 가격 435원을 기준으로 연간소요비용은 각각 5,392,430원, 5,299,917원으로 경유온풍기가 10만원 정도 경제적이지만 탄산가스 시용비용, 탄산가스 공급으로 인한 작물의 수량증대 및 고품질 생산물을 고려한다면 LPG온풍기 사용이 더 경제적이라 사료된다.

Effects of an Inlet Guide Vane on the Flowrate Distribution Characteristics of the Nozzle Exit in a Defrost Duct System (성에제거 덕트 입구 가이드베인 형상이 노즐출구 유량분포특성에 미치는 영향)

  • Effects of the duct inlet guide vane on the flowrate distribution characteristics of the defroster nozzle exit in a defrost duct system were investigated experimentally to design the optimum heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) system applied in an automotive compartment. A 3-dimensional hot-wire anemometer system was used to measure the velocity field in the vicinity of the defroster nozzle jet flow and the velocity distributions near the windshield interior surface. At first, two cases of with- and without-duct inlet guide vanes were considered as the test condition, and then three cases of the duct inlet guide vane were tested to determine the optimum guide vane shape and their positions. The arrangement of the duct inlet guide vanes has an effect on the improved flowrate distribution at the defroster nozzle exit and near the windshield interior surface. However, the application of the lots of guide vane to control the flow direction leads to increase the flow resistance, resulting in the decreased flowrate issuing from the defroster nozzle. The shape of the duct inlet guide vane affects not only the flowrate distribution between the driver side and the assistant driver side but also the reduction of the flow resistance in the defrost duct system.

Variation of Energy Consumption in Barracks through Simulation by Year of Completion

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study is to analyze & suggest the variation of energy consumption consequent on thermal insulation performance strengthening from early 2000s when modernization of barracks began until the present targeting a large barracks. Method: To carry out this research, this study surveyed the standard of thermal insulation by year, which is being applied to a barracks by conducting literature search, and selected the standard model for a barracks. Also, this study analyzed energy consumption by year & region by performing simulation(ECO2)of the selected standard model. Result: As a result, it was analyzed that in case of a building which was completed in 2015, the energy consumption for air-conditioning & heating, lighting, and hot water supply over the year 2000 reduced by 11% on the average in central district, 10% on the average in southern district, and 17% on the average in Jeju, respectively.

  • Researches on unused energy are being continued because of the limited fossil fuel and the destruction of environment. Therefore this study was performed as follows The collectable amount of exhausted heat for an air-conditioning was calculated by the subway thermal environment prediction program. And the electric power needed by conventional heat source equipments was compared with one by unused heat source equipments when the exhausted heat was used by heat pump in heating and hot water supplying.

  • In this study, the autoignition process of liquid fuel, injected into hot and stagnant air in a 2-D axisymmetric confined cylindrical combustor, has been investigated. Eulerian-Lagrangian scheme was adopted to analyze the two-phase flow and combustion. The unsteady conservation equations were used to solve the transition of the gas field. Interactions between two phases were accounted by using the particle source in cell (PSI-Cell) model, which was used for detailed consideration of the finite rates of transports between phases. And infinite conduction model was adopted for the vaporization of droplets. The results have shown that the process of the autoignition consists of heating up of droplets, vaporization, mixing and ignition. The ignition criteria could be determined by the temporal variations of temperature, reaction rate and species mass fraction. And the effects of various parameters on ignition phenomena are examined. These have shown that the increasing the reaction rate and/or the vaporization rate can reduce the ignition delay time.

An Experimental Study on the Operational Characteristics and Performance of the Sodium Heat Pipe (나트륨 히트파이프의 작동 특성 및 성능에 관한 실험적 연구)

  • The experimental study for an operational characteristics and performance of the sodium heat pipe were carried out. For an experiment. the heat pipe which is 1000mm length and 25.4mm diameter of stainless steel container with 50 mesh of screen wick using sodium as a working fluid is manufactured and tested as functions of heat flow rate, inclined angle and operating temperature. The test results are as follows. During the start-up. frontal start up was observed because of the vapor density increasing as increased the hot zone. Also, the heat pipe showed uniform temperature over than $420^{\circ}C$ of the operating temperature. The average heat transfer coefficient increased as the heat flux and the vapor temperature increase, and the range of the total thermal resistance was 0.075-0.04 $^{\circ}C/W$ at the 12-53.55 $kW/m^2$ of heat flux and $500-750^{\circ}C$of operating temperature. The maximum heat flow rate was 750W at the 10 degree of top heating mode.
