  • Integrated pest management is essential for controlling plant diseases that reduce crop yields. Rapid diagnosis is crucial for effective management in the event of an outbreak to identify the cause and minimize damage. Diagnosis methods range from indirect visual observation, which can be subjective and inaccurate, to machine learning and deep learning predictions that may suffer from biased data. Direct molecular-based methods, while accurate, are complex and time-consuming. However, the development of large multimodal models, like GPT-4, combines image recognition with natural language processing for more accurate diagnostic information. This study introduces GPT-4-based system for diagnosing plant diseases utilizing a detailed knowledge base with 1,420 host plants, 2,462 pathogens, and 37,467 pesticide instances from the official plant disease and pesticide registries of Korea. The AI plant doctor offers interactive advice on diagnosis, control methods, and pesticide use for diseases in Korea and is accessible at https://pdoc.scnu.ac.kr/.

옥천 용암사 마애불의 보존관리를 위한 불연속면의 거동특성 해석 (Behavior Interpretation of Discontinuity for Conservation Treatment of Standing Sculptured Buddha at the Yongamsa Temple, Korea)

  • The host rock of standing sculptured Buddha in the Yongamsa temple was macular biotite granite, which has gone through mechanical and chemical weathering. The principal rock-forming minerals are quartz, plagioclase, alkali feldspar, and biotite, the last two of which have been transformed into clay minerals and chlorite due to weathering processes. The bed rock around the Buddha statue is busily scattered with steep inclinations that are almost vertical and discontinuous planes with the strikes of $N8^{\circ}E$. The major joints have the strikes of N4 to $52^{\circ}W$ and N6 to $88^{\circ}E$ and the dips of 42 to $89^{\circ}$. Especially thee development of the joints that cross the major joints causes tile structural instability of the rock. The host rock of the Buddha image is separated into many different rock masses because of the also many different discontinuity, which group accounts for about $12{\%}$ of the rock. Thus it's estimated that the bed rock has not only plane and toppling failure but also wedge failure in all the sides. Since the earth pressure and the inclination pressure are imposed on the body of the Buddha in the basement rock, it's urgent to give a treatment of geotechnical engineering for the sake of its structural stability. The parts where serious fractures are seen should receive the hardening process using the fillers for stones. It's also necessary to introduce a landfill liner system in order to reduce the ground humidity. The rock surface of the Buddha statue are partly contaminated by lichens and bryophyte. The joints have turned into earth, which promotes the growth of weeds and plant roots. Thus biochemical treatments should also be considered to get rid of the vegetation along the discontinuous planes and prevent further biological damages.

올림픽 문화프로그램의 구성과 특성 분석 - 1988 서울올림픽과 2018 평창동계올림픽을 중심으로 - (The Analysis of Composition and Characteristic in Olympics Cultural Program: Focusing on the 1988 Seoul Olympics and the 2018 PyeongChang Winter Olympic Games)

  • 본 연구의 목적은 1988 서울올림픽과 2018 평창동계올림픽의 문화프로그램의 구성과 특성을 분석하는 데 있다. 연구방법으로는 문헌연구방법을 통해 역대 올림픽대회의 문화올림픽의 발전상과 개최국의 문화올림픽 사례를 고찰하였고, 1988 서울올림픽과 2018평창동계올림픽의 문화프로그램의 구성과 특성을 다양하게 분석하였다. 그 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 1992 바르셀로나올림픽에서는 문화프로그램 개념이 심화·발전되었으며, 2010 밴쿠버올림픽을 계기로 IOC는 문화올림픽 가이드를 발간하였고, 2012 런던올림픽을 통해 문화올림픽 가이드를 개정하였다. 둘째, 1988 서울올림픽과 2018 평창동계올림픽의 문화프로그램은 개최국과 개최도시 이미지 변화와 위상 및 국제적 교류 제고의 특성을 나타내었다. 셋째, 문화프로그램에서 1988 서울올림픽은 문화예술축전 속에 경축, 공연, 전시행사, 그리고 국제학술대회 등으로 구성되었고, 2018 평창동계올림픽은 공연, 전시, 축제, 인문 및 체험, 교육행사 등으로 구성되었다. 넷째, 1988 서울올림픽은 전통과 현대의 조화와 한국의 전통문화의 우수성 홍보 및 공감대 확산 그리고 각 지역의 다양한 문화예술의 특징을 골고루 갖춘 프로그램의 구성이 핵심요소였다. 또한 2018 평창동계올림픽은 문화올림픽을 체계적으로 추진하기 위해 '날마다 문화가 있는, 도민이 참여하는, 문화유산으로 남는 올림픽'을 전략적으로 추진하였다.

INFRARED - X-RAY CONNECTION IN NEARBY ACTIVE GALACTIC NUCLEI; AKARI AND MAXI RESULTS

  • Combining the AKARI Point Source Catalog and the 37-month Monitor of All-sky X-ray Image (MAXI) catalog, the infrared and X-ray properties of nearby active galactic nuclei were investigated. The 37-month MAXI catalog tabulates 100 nearby Seyfert galaxies, 73 of which are categorized into Seyfert I galaxies. Among these Seyfert galaxies, 69 ones were found to have an AKARI infrared counterpart. For the Seyfert I galaxies in this sample, a well-known correlation was found between the infrared and X-ray luminosities. However, the observed X-ray luminosity of the Seyfert II galaxies tends to be lower for the infrared luminosity than the Seyfert I galaxies. This suggests that the X-ray absorption is significant in the Seyfert II galaxies. The Seyfert II galaxies seem to have a bimodal distribution of the IR color between $18{\mu}m$ and $90{\mu}m$. Especially, a large fraction of the Seyfert II galaxies exhibits a redder IR color than the Seyfert I galaxies. A possible origin of the redder IR color is briefly discussed, in relation to the star formation activity in the host galaxy, and to the X-ray absorption.

  • The World exposition is considered as a great event to promote the cultural exchanges of their own urbanism and share the technological developments among the various countries across the all over the world. So many countries in the world desired to host and take part in the EXPO, so far only few countries have had the chance to hold the event and show their uniqueness of urban culture, but we might say the past exhibition as those for display and publication of matters of science, technology and trade, now we must say expositions of the 21th century has come under variations on cultural and informational interchange and humanism from the global issue and problem. What makes possible to maximize the effort of reciprocal communication between people and the public can be the EXPO event as a means of the public information of the theme and this kind of event should suggest the public a message of the topic, message, image and even more the EXPO spirits and theme as an international event gives as much considerably spreading effect as its big scale. In that aspect, the pavilion for the exhibition of EXPO and public information should be recognized as a place for smoothly forming the activities of reciprocal communication between the society and the public, with such a aspect this study, as its purpose of improving as well as communication, concerns the process in projecting the space paradigm of pavilion in the EXPO and public message and information as a means of the communication of the global theme.

대구의 문화생태환경 복원과 활용 (The Restoration and Application of Cultural and Ecological Environments of Daegu City)

  • 본 연구의 목적은 2011년 세계육상선수권대회 개최지로 선정된 대구시의 도시 이미지 제고에 필요한 대구의 문화생태환경 복원과 활용을 위한 기초자료를 제공하는 데 있다. 본 연구를 통해 얻은 주된 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 잘못 알려져 있는 대표적인 자연경관은 신천과 입암으로 이에 대한 수정이 시급히 요구되며, 이 외에도 지명의 오기에 대한 수정이 필요하다. 둘째, 고문헌에 전해지는 대구의 두 바위 중 하나인 입암은 이미 사라진 상태이지만, 화암은 최근에 그것의 실체가 밝혀진 만큼 이에 대한 충분한 보존방안이 마련되어야 할 것이다. 셋째, 사라질 위기에 처한 주요 자연경관의 보존을 위해 이들을 대구 문화생태관광 자원으로 활용하는 방안을 제시한다. 넷째, 연구자는 본 연구에서 중요하게 다루고 있는 지형경관 중에서도 문화 또는 역사와 관련된 지형경관을 특별히 '문화지형(Cultural landform)'으로 부를 것을 제안한다.

통계적 특징 기반 SVM을 이용한 야간 전방 차량 검출 기법 (Night Time Leading Vehicle Detection Using Statistical Feature Based SVM)

  • A driver assistance system is critical to improve a convenience and stability of vehicle driving. Several systems have been already commercialized such as adaptive cruise control system and forward collision warning system. Efficient vehicle detection is very important to improve such driver assistance systems. Most existing vehicle detection systems are based on a radar system, which measures distance between a host and leading (or oncoming) vehicles under various weather conditions. However, it requires high deployment cost and complexity overload when there are many vehicles. A camera based vehicle detection technique is also good alternative method because of low cost and simple implementation. In general, night time vehicle detection is more complicated than day time vehicle detection, because it is much more difficult to distinguish the vehicle's features such as outline and color under the dim environment. This paper proposes a method to detect vehicles at night time using analysis of a captured color space with reduction of reflection and other light sources in images. Four colors spaces, namely RGB, YCbCr, normalized RGB and Ruta-RGB, are compared each other and evaluated. A suboptimal threshold value is determined by Otsu algorithm and applied to extract candidates of taillights of leading vehicles. Statistical features such as mean, variance, skewness, kurtosis, and entropy are extracted from the candidate regions and used as feature vector for SVM(Support Vector Machine) classifier. According to our simulation results, the proposed statistical feature based SVM provides relatively high performances of leading vehicle detection with various distances in variable nighttime environments.

  • Website service quality is widely accepted as one of the key determinants of online business success. Several studies identified key factors that determine the website service quality factors appropriate for online business environments. A convention and visitors bureau (CVB) website is a service portal that delivers information online about a destination so users can develop an overall image of the location. CVBs struggle to deliver positive destination images because the competition among destinations to host conventions is intense. In spite of the important role of CVBs and the beneficial spillover effect of CVBs, there are few studies available reporting on the unique service qualities of a CVB website. The primary purpose of this study was to examine the determining factors that are appropriate for CVB websites from the meeting planners' perspective. The research questions arc: What are the determining factors of service quality of a CVB website? Do the determining factors of CVB website service quality positively influence meeting planners' satisfaction? The new conceptual framework was developed from a variety of destination marketing and Internet marketing concepts: e-servicescape management, web community network, Internet service encounter management, and online system quality. Empirical results indicate that three of the four factors, that is, e-servicescape, web community network, and online system quality are important determinants in evaluating CVB website service quality. The findings also show that three determinants have significant and positive influence on meeting planners' satisfaction. The findings from this study will provide meaningful advice for CVB website quality management. To enhance the CVB website service quality and satisfaction level of meeting planners, these three determinants' should be considered of the utmost strategic importance and priority.

3차원 전기비저항 역산 방법을 이용한 삼보 광산에서 금광 탐사 (Application of Gold Exploration Using Three-dimensional Resistivity Inversion in Sambo mine)

  • 전라남도 무안군 해제 면에 위치한 삼보광산은 편마암류 및 유문암내에 발달한 열극에 열수가 충전하여 형성된 열극 충전광산이다. 시추자료에서 얻은 분석 품위는 금이 0.05~10.9 g/t 이하, 은이 0.05~389 g/t 이하로 부분적으로 금ㆍ은 광화작용이 인지되었다. 본 연구는 지표에서의 쌍극자, 슐럼버저 및 웨너 배열을 이용한 전기비저항 탐사와 시추공에서의 전기비저항 토모그래피 탐사를 복합하여 삼보광산에서 광화대의 분포 및 이와 관련된 지질구조를 파악하고자한다. 3차원 전기비저항 역산의 결과는 광화대가 지표부터 약 80m 심도까지 30m의 폭을 가지며, N10°~20°E의 방향으로 240m 연장되어 있음을 보여준다. 전기비저항 영상에서 얻어진 1,000ohm-m이하의 전기비저항 값은 시추 자료에서 확인된 금ㆍ은 광화작용이 인지된 구간 및 연약대 구간과 거의 일치하였다.

  • 유니버시아드 대회와 같은 대형이벤트의 성공적인 개최는 국 내외 관광객의 대량 유업효과, 개최국가와 지역의 이미지 개선효과 이외에도 대회준비를 위한 사회간접시설의 조성으로 인한 지역경제 활성화를 도모하는 등 많은 외형적인 변화를 가져온다. 이러한 관점에서 본 연구는 1997년 무주에서 개최된 동계 유니버시아드대회가 개최지역인 농 산촌지역에 끼친 파급영향을 다측면적인 관점에서 분석하기 위하여 종단적인 시간비교연구를 실증적으로 수행하였다. 그 결과 지역주민들이 지각하는 동계유니버시아드 대회의 파급영향은 개최지역의 관광산업과 지역개발분야에서는 투자효과가 큰 것으로 나타났으나, 지역경제의 활성화 측면에서는 그다지 크게 성공적이지 못한 것으로 분석되었으며, 또한 개최지역인 덕유산국립공원의 자연환경에 피해를 준 것으로 평가되었다.
