자동차 안전운전 보조 시스템에 응용할 수 있는 카메라 캘리브레이션 방법 (Camera Calibration Method for an Automotive Safety Driving System)

  • This paper presents a camera calibration method in order to estimate the lane detection and inter-vehicle distance estimation system for an automotive safety driving system. In order to implement the lane detection and vision-based inter-vehicle distance estimation to the embedded navigations or black box systems, it is necessary to consider the computation time and algorithm complexity. The process of camera calibration estimates the horizon, the position of the car's hood and the lane width for extraction of region of interest (ROI) from input image sequences. The precision of the calibration method is very important to the lane detection and inter-vehicle distance estimation. The proposed calibration method consists of three main steps: 1) horizon area determination; 2) estimation of the car's hood area; and 3) estimation of initial lane width. Various experimental results show the effectiveness of the proposed method.

  • This paper describes several computational results on the various energy and environmental problems using Patankar's SIMPLE method. The specific problems included in this study are : pollutant and flammable material dispersions in open and confined areas, buoyancy-driven flow in a lake, primary clarifier for water and waste water treatment, hood ventilation in workplace. cyclone combustor and Dow chlorination reactor. A control-volume based finite-difference method is employed together with the power-law scheme. The pressure-velocity coupling is resolved by the use of the revised version of SIMPLE, says SIMPLER and SIMPLEC. The Reynolds stresses are closed using the standard or RNG κ-ε models. A nonequilibrium turbulent reaction model is developed for the application of the chlorination process in the Dow thermal reactor. Other important empirical models and physical insights appeared in this study are presented and discussed in a brief note. The computational method developed in this study is considered, in general, as a viable tool for the design and determination of the optimal operating condition of various environmental engineering system of interest.

실험실습용 국소배기 기초실험장치의 개발 (Development of Basic Local Exhaust Ventilation System for Experimental Education)

  • To enhance educational effect for exhaust ventilation system, more instructive educational engineering such as experimental system should be needed. This study was performed to 1) manufacture the basic experimental system for local exhaust ventilation, 2) experiment with this system and 3) develop methodology of exhaust ventilation education. With this system, three pressures (static pressure(SP), velocity pressure(VP) and total pressure(TP)) were measured and illustrated and the graphic shapes agreed to theoretical ones relatively. Entry loss factor ($F_h$) of each hood was found to be different with hood shape, duct velocity and flow rate. This result implies that precise $F_h$ should be determined case by case and a industrial hygienist should not be dependent on the existing values. Pressure loss using velocity pressure method and characteristics of air movement near hoods using fume were grasped with this system. But larger system should be recommended to produce more precise experimental results.

  • Springback after draw and flange is the critical factor affecting the product quality. It is very difficult to predict the amount of springback not only because of complex geometry and material characteristics of the stamping product, but because the methodology has not been established. In this study, springback mechanism is introduced, and experimental tryout an automobile panel is carried out for die design of automotive hood panel. Further, introduce adapting design and field springback was verified by trial experimental with the measured tryout result. Finally, introduced about general method in order to predict springback in computer simulation.

가스를 연료로 사용한 주방에서의 오염물질 발생 특성에 대한 연구 (A Study on the Occurrence Character of Contaminant in the Kitchen that Use Gas Fuel)

  • This paper is contents that measure the ventilation rates and temperature by driving condition of exhaust fan, vapor, contaminant occurrence amount of carbon dioxide etc. In kitchen of apartment house. The ventilation rates in the apartment kitchen measured by Tracer Gas Method. And, temperature of when cook by gas table hood lower part 10cm and floor upside 10cm of kitchen central part, 120cm, 210cm heights measure. As ventilation rates measurement result, ventilation number of times was 0.7(number of times/hour) when did not to operate exhaust fan. but we were measured by 2.3(number of times/hour) when drove strongly. As temperature measurement result at cooking by gas table, temperature showed highest in hood lower part 10cm of case that do not operate exhaust fan. Temperature at kitchen central was most low in 10cm height in talc floor, and 210cm were measured highest. Concentration of carbon dioxide is very high by 4,350ppm after measurement time 10 minutes in state who do not operate exhaust fan at cooking by gas table.

  • A sirocco fan is widely used for discharging pollutants of a kitchen space since it is able to generate a relatively high air flow rate considering its small size and makes less noise than a axial fan or a centrifugal fan. However, it has a problem because its efficiency is low, and power consumption is larger. Performance of a sirocco fan is influenced by various factors such as number of the fan blades, diameter of the fan, geometry of the fan, geometry of its housing, revolution frequency, static pressure condition, and etc. This research investigated the effect on the performance of geometry of the housing. For CFD analysis, we used a commercial code, SC/Tetra, and used a sliding mesh method to give the same condition as an actual state. Verification of the CFD results is done by comparison of experimental data and numerical one about the suction flow rate, and it is confirmed that two results are well consistent. After we changed the shape of housing according to Archimedes' screw, we observed that suction efficiency is improved by 10.7% maximum.

  • In this paper, we propose the method to find the active region of flame which is produced within the gap between an oxygen blown converter and a skirt. For real-time image processing, basic region segmentation algorithms such as thresholding and XORing are used to segment the active region of flame. The result of this processing may be useful to clear the relationship between hood pressure and flame.

사용자 경험 중심의 섬유일체형 온도조절 스마트재킷 개발과 착용성 평가 (Development and Wearability Evaluation of All-Fabric Integrated Smart Jacket for a Temperature-regulating System Based on User Experience Design)

  • This study aims to develop an all-fabric integrated smart jacket in order to create a temperature-regulating system based on a user experience design. For this research, previous research technologies of a textile switch interface and a temperature-regulating system were utilized and a unifying technology for the all-fabric integrated smart jacket was developed which can provide the appropriate temperature environments to the human body. A self-heating textile was applied at the areas of the back and hood in the final tested jacket, and an embroidery circuit was developed in the form of a rectangle in the back and in both ears of the hood, taking into account the pattern of the jacket part where it was be applied and the embroidery production method. The textile switch interface was designed in a three-layer structure: an embroidery circuit line in a conductive yarn, an interval material, and a conductive sensing material, and it was made to work with the input and output sensors through the multiple input method. After the all-fabric integrated smart jacket was produced according to the pattern, all of the textile band lines for transmission were gathered and connected with a miniature module for controlling temperature and then integrated into the inside of the left chest pocket of the jacket. After the users put on this jacket, they were asked to assess the wearing satisfaction. Most of them reported a very low level of irritation and discomfort and said that the jacket was as comfortable as everyday clothing.

  • Hemming is the last farming process in stamping and determines external quality of automotive outer panels. Few numerical approaches using 3-dimensional finite element model have been applied to a hemming process due to small element size which is needed to express the bending behavior of the sheet around small die comer and comparatively big model size of automotive opening parts, such as side door, back door and trunk lid etc In this study, part model assembling method is suggested and applied to the 3-dimensional finite element simulation of flanging and hemming process far an automotive front hood.

Estimating multiplicative competitive interaction model using kernel machine technique

  • We propose a novel way of forecasting the market shares of several brands simultaneously in a multiplicative competitive interaction model, which uses kernel regression technique incorporated with kernel machine technique applied in support vector machines and other machine learning techniques. Traditionally, the estimations of the market share attraction model are performed via a maximum likelihood estimation procedure under the assumption that the data are drawn from a normal distribution. The proposed method is shown to be a good candidate for forecasting method of the market share attraction model when normal distribution is not assumed. We apply the proposed method to forecast the market shares of 4 Korean car brands simultaneously and represent better performances than maximum likelihood estimation procedure.
