Home networks consist of two or more home appliances or communication devices enabling the mutual data communication between appliances such as personal computers, refrigerators, phones, television sets, personal digital assistants(PDA), etc. There are three factors that create demand for the home network services. The first factor is development of technology. Second, on the demand side, consumer demand for the home appliances having access to the Internet is in the increase. Finally, producers need a strategy to deal with the problem of market saturation. Home networks are emerging markets. They are unique in that they unite information technologies with home appliances that provide new services. in this paper we study the main attributes of home network services and analyze consumers' preferences for them. However, it is not quite possible to use the revealed preference approach since the home network market is still at an incipient stage. We therefore use the conjoint analysis method using stated preference data. conjoint analysis has been widely use in the area of marketing for evaluating consumer preferences for new products and services. it presents a hypothetical product to the respondents along with the product's attributes and their levels. The respondents are asked to either rank each alternative or choose between several hypothetical products. By estimating consumers' willingness to pay for the attributes of the home network services and analyzing consumers' preferences, we predict the pattern of the development of the home network services and related technologies along various quality dimensions. Based on the estimation results, we draw policy implications for the national- and company-level strategy.

Middleware enables different networking devices and protocols to inter-operate in ubiquitous home network environments. The UPnP(Universal Plug and Play) middleware, which runs on a PC and is based on the IPv4 protocol, has attracted much interest in the field of home network research since it has versatility. The UPnP, however, cannot be easily accessed via the public Internet since the UPnP devices that provide services and the Control Points that control the devices are configured with non-routable local private or Auto IP networks. The critical question is how to access UPnP network via the public Internet. The purpose of this study is to deal with the non-routability problem in local private and Auto IP networks by improving the conventional Control Point used in UPnP middleware-based home networks. For this purpose, this paper proposes an improved Control Point for accessing and controlling the home network from remote sites via the public Internet, by adding a web server to the conventional Control Point. The improved Control Point is implemented in an embedded GNU/Linux system running on an ARM9 platform.

홈네트워크 사업자는 빠르게 확대 되는 시장 환경에 맞춰 확장성, 신뢰성, 유연성, 저비용의 구조로 홈네트워크 서비스를 제공하는 것에 대해 많은 고민을 하고 있다. 기존 클라이언트-서버 방식은 홈네트워크를 서비스하는데 있어 복잡성, 고비용 등 다양한 문제가 존재한다. 본 논문에서는 이러한 문제를 해결하기 위한 P2P-SIP(Peer to peer - Session Initiation Protocol) 구조를 제안한다. 분산된 자원의 접근을 지원하는 P2P(Peer to peer) 통신 방식의 단말에서 기존의 SIP(Session Initiation Protocol)기반 네트워크 장치들이 가지던 기능을 제공한다. 또한 단말의 이동성을 고려한 네트워크 기반의 PMIPv6(Proxy Mobile IPv6)기술을 적용하여 이동성 관리에 따른 지연시간을 최소화한다. 특히 제안하는 P2P-SIP 구조는 평면 구조에 비해 지역 내 다양한 홈네트워크 간의 뛰어난 확장성과 유지비용을 절감하는 매우 효율적인 구조임을 보여줬다.

유비쿼터스 핵심 기술인 RFID 기술은 기존에 이력관리 등의 국한된 분야에서 사용 되었으나, RFID 응용 기술의 발달로 u-Healthcare, 홈 네트워크, 텔레매틱스 등 다양한 분야에서 사용되고 있다. 한편, 여러 기업들이 홈 네트워크 분야에 관심이 높아지고 관련기술이 발전함에 따라, 홈 네트워크에 RFID 기술을 적용하는 방안에 대해 많은 연구가 진행 되고 있다. 본 논문에서는 OSGi 프레임워크 플랫폼 바탕으로 RFID 리더 처리 방법을 번들 형태로 구현하여 홈 네트워크 응용에게 태그 정보를 넘겨주고, 원격에서 RFID 리더를 제어 할 수 있도록 하는 시스템을 설계 및 구현 하였다.

In this study, we realized the broadband home gateway system of dual mode based upon EDR 2~3Mbps transmission speed and 300Mbps of 802.11n, In broadcasting and telecommunication convergence networks to deliver multimedia services, high-quality home. The bluetooth module is designed to use general low rate data speed service and the 802.11n module also is designed to use high rate speed service at various home network situation. The dual mode home gateway system, bluetooth and 802.l1n module, is well realized for many specification such as emission power, spurious power, impedance matching, frequency channel test.

홈 네트워크는 유무선 네트워크를 기반으로 언제, 어디서나 정보가전 및 기기제어와 양방향 멀티미디어 서비스를 이용할 수 있는 주거환경을 일컫는다. 홈 네트워크가 점차 활성화되고 있는 현시점에서 댁내망은 PC 뿐만 아니라 홈오토메이션, 백색가전 등 다양한 기기들로 구축되기 때문에 외부의 공격 형태 및 피해 양상 역시 다양하게 나타날 수 있다. 그래서 본 논문에서 홈 네트워크에 대한 침입에 대응할 수 있는 SIP 기반 홈 네트워킹인 SSIP(Secure Session Initiate Protocol) 모델을 제안한다. 본 논문에서 제안하는 SIP기반 홈네트워킹인 SSIP(Secure Session Initiate Protocol) 모델은 홈 게이트웨이에서 수행하는 Cluster-to-Cluster환경에 SIP의 인증기능을 추기하여 효과적인 인증과 세션 재설정시에 세션 시간 및 셋업 시간을 줄여 주는 효율적이고 신뢰성 있는 시스템이다.

The purpose of this study was to investigate the characteristics of the social networks and its relationship with the psychological well-being of middle-aged men. The participants were 314 men who were married living in Pusan, aged between 40 and 59, having occupation and children. Data were collected by questionnaire which consists of Social Networks Scale and Psychological Well-being Scale. The major results of the study were summarized as follows; First, the range of the social contact with men's own kin was wider than women's. In the contact frequency of midge-aged men, primary networks were shown more frequent contact than the secondary networks. In the characteristics of interactive function of social networks, kinship of the middle- aged men, their partners and friendship networks were the most important among the six networks, which agrees the fact that kin are still the primary source of social support. Second, the level of psychological well-being was lower than family-related satisfaction and work-related satisfaction. In the work-related satisfaction, the level of job satisfaction was lower than the other sub-categories. Psychological well-being of middle-aged men were affected by Social economic status as well.

In the era of home automation, we need more context-aware and intelligent service applications than before. For these applications, a service gateway as a platform is required to bridge the gap between external data networks to internal home networks. Also, the sonics gateway enables customers to receive new classes of home services. The OSGi service platform is a good solution for the service gateway since it can deliver new applications dynamically from a broader network. This paper shows an implementation of WLAN-based Audio/Video(A/V) system for multimedia home networks. Proposed WLAN-based A/V system can transmit multimedia data of high quality. The entire system consists of a 16-bit RISC controller, a program ROM, a SRAM, timers, an interrupt controller, a DART, GPIOs, an I2C and the OFDM modem supporting for the IEEE 802.11g standard. The simple MAC functions are implemented by firmware on an embedded 16-bit RISC controller. The OFDM modem supports a complete set of data rates up to 54Mbps. Proposed the system is implemented by an Altera FPGA EP1S60F1020C6 device, a 10-bit 2-ch DAC, a 10-bit 2-ch ADC and RF/IF chips.
