Design of Home Furnishing Simulation System using Real Space Information (현실공간 정보를 이용한 셀프 홈퍼니싱 시뮬레이션 시스템 설계)

  • As the interest in home furnishing becomes more focused due to the increase of small-sized households, the need for a virtual simulation system for this purpose is increasing. However, in the case of existing virtual simulation systems, simulation is performed using a virtual object in a virtual space, so accurate simulation results can not be derived. In the case of a simulation using an augmented reality, Thereby causing inconsistency in space. In this paper, we propose a system that performs the home furnishing simulation by modifying and enhancing objects in the process of matching feature coordinates of real space.

  • This paper explains the design and implementation of the FDA(Fault Detection Agent) based on IP-USN. FDA is a system that is suitable for detecting software error for multimedia distance education running on home network environment based on IP-USN. This system consists of an ED, and ES. ED is an agent that detects an error by hooking techniques for multimedia distance education based on IP-USN environment. ES is an agent that is an error sharing system for multimedia distance education based on IP-USN environment.

  • This paper describes a digital convergence platform(DCP) whice is implemented based on the MPEG-21 multimedia framework. The DCP is a newly proposed solution in this research for the convergence service of future home multimedia environment. The DCP is a common platform designed to have the feature of configurability, via means of S/W, which is needed for the convergence service of diverse digital media. A distributed peer to peer service and transaction model is also a new feature realized in the DCP using the MPEG-21 multimedia framework. A prototype DCP is implemented to verify its functions of multimedia service and transactions. The developed DCPs are networked with IP clustering storage systems for the distributed service of multimedia. Successful streaming services of the MPEG-2/4 video and audio are verified with the implemented test-bed system of the DCP.

  • We developed a multimedia monitoring system for patients at home, equipped with video and audio-conferencing capabilities. It can also monitor biological signals in real-time with vital signs. The system has an extensible architecture to accommodate probable future needs easily.

  • 최근 유ㆍ무선 통신 기술이 고도화 성장함에 따라 정보 기기, 디지털 가전 기기, 홈 오토메이션 기기들을 하나의 통신망으로 묶어 언제, 어디서나, 임의의 장비를 사용하여 홈 기기들을 제어하고 관리할 수 있는 홈 네트워크를 구축하려는 움직임이 빠르게 진행되고 있다. 본 고에서는 홈 네트워크상에서 발생할 수 있는 보안 위협, 보안 요구사항 둥에 대하여 정의하였으며, 무선의 특성상 보안이 취약한 무선 보안 기술의 응용에 대해 제시하였다.

  • High quality real-time interactive multimedia services like VOD gained huge momentum by information technology industries during the middle of 1990, but failed successful commercial service deployment despite of the expectations. Among the number of reasons, lack of high bandwidth and QoS support from the network infrastructure have become main cause of the failure. On the other hand, the advance of computer industry-driven storage technologies has been reducing the price of in-home storage dramatically. This fact and the delivery of audio-visual material in a digital form to the home storage make very interesting multimedia service applications possible. It enables anytime content delivery (e.g., during off-peak time) without user interaction and anytime content play and, also, enhances utilization by reducing the loads applied to servers and networks using multicast network infrastructure. In this paper, we propose design and implementation of our anytime multimedia service system based on in-home storage, called IMPRESS-AMS.

  • This paper described the design and implementation of the FRA(Fault Recovery Agent) for home network environment based on IP-USN. This system consists of a FDA, FSA, and FRA. FDA is an agent that detects an fault by hooking techniques for multimedia distance education based on IP-USN environment. FSA is an agent that is an fault sharing system for multimedia distance education based on IP-USN environment. FRA is a system that is suitable for recovering software fault for multimedia distance education running on home network environment based on IP-USN. It is necessary for the system to be protected by reactivity of media service instance instead of breaking process of session. This system is limited only for FRA modeling.

  • Streaming Technology can support the real-time playback without downloading and storing multimedia data in local HDD. So, client browser or plug-in can represent multimedia data before the end of file transmission using streaming technology. Recently, the demand for efficient real-time playback and transmission of large amounts of multimedia data is growing rapidly. But most users' connections over network are not fast and stable enough to download large chunks of multimedia data. In this paper, we propose an intelligent IP streaming system based on personalized media service. The proposed IP streaming system enables users to get an intelligent recommendation of multimedia contents based on the user preference information stored on the streaming server or the home media server. The supposed intelligent IP streaming system consists of Server Metadata Agent, Pumping Server, Contents Storage Server, Client Metadata Agent and Streaming Player. And in order to implement the personalized media service, the user information, user preference information and client device information are managed under database concept. Moreover, users are assured of seamless access of streamed content event if they switch to another client device by implementing streaming system based on user identification and device information. We evaluate our approach with manufacturing home server system and simulation results.
