유료노인전문요양원 입주의사 결정요인에 관한 연구 (Factors Influencing the Intention of Admission into a Charged Nursing Home for the Elderly)

  • Objectives : To gather information about the factors which influence the interest and intention of admission into charging nursing hones for the elderly(CNH), as these homes represent an important method for resolving the problems related to the rapid population aging occurring in Korea. Methods : A face-to-face interview survey was carried out with 320(men 159, women 165) patients over 60 years old who were admitted at 2 university hospitals and 5 general hospitals in the Busan area between December 1998 and March 1999. Data were analyzed through t-test, ANOVA, correlation and multiple regression analysis. Results : The mean age and years of education of the study population was 67.0 and 7.7 years, and the types of chronic degenerative disease included musculoskeletal disorders(20.1%), cerebrovascular disease(17.1%), and diabetes(14.3%). The major forms of household living arrangement prior to admission were elderly alone(22.6%), and elderly couple(33.5%), while about half of them(55.5%) didn't want to live with their children id the future. Almost half were paying medication fees by themselves(46.6%). The level of actual intention of admission$(3.07{\pm}1.39)$ into a CNH was lower than that of interest$(3.22{\pm}1.33)$(p<0.01). Multiple analysis revealed that the intention of admission increased with decreasing number of future supportive persons$(\beta=-0.107)$, lower level of activity in daily life$(\beta=-0.447)$, and longer years of education$(\beta=-0.447)$ with 32.7% of $R^2$. As for the factors which determined the admission into a CNH, the fee and facilities were considered to be most important, and professional nursing and physician's care were the most desired services. In nomenclature, they preferred 'elderly hospital' or 'elderly health center' to CNH. Conclusions : Interest in CNH is increasing recently, but existing studies about patient experiences in CHN are still limited. This study may form a basis for future examinations of the needs and uses for CNH. Active financial support and public information are considered by the authors to be important factors for the induction of welfare services for the elderly, though CNH.

말기암 환자와 가족의 의료 및 간호 서비스 요구 (The Study on the Medical and Nursing Service Needs of the Terminal Cancer Patients and Their Caregivers)

  • In this study, we attempted to investigate the needs and problems of the terminal cancer patients and their family caregivers to provide them with nursing information to improve their quality of life and prepare for a peaceful death. Data was collected from August 1, 1995 to July 31, 1996 at the internal medicine unit of S hospital in Seoul area with the two groups of participants who were family members of terminal cancer patients seventy four of them were in-patients and 34 were out-patients who were discharged from the same hospital for home care. The research tool used in this study has been developed by selecting the questionnaires from various references, modifying them for our purpose and refining them based on the results of preliminary study. While general background information about the patients was obtained by reviewing their medical records, all other information was collected by interviewing the primary family caregivers of the patients using the questionnaire. The data collected were analyzed with the SPSS PC/sup +/ program. The results of this study are summarized as follows ; 1) Most frequently complained symptoms of the terminal cancer patients were in the order of pain(87%), weakness(86.1%), anorexia(83.3%) and fatigue (80.6%). 2) Main therapies for the terminal cancer patients were pain control (58.3%), hyperalimentation(47.2%) and antibiotics(21.3%). 3) Special medical devices that terminal cancer patients used most were oxygen device (11.1%), and feeding tube(5.6%). Other devices were used by less than 5% of the patients. 4) The mobility of 70.4% of the patients was worse than ECOG 3 level, they had to stay in bed more than 50% of a day. 5) Patients wanted their medical staffs to help relieve pain(45.4%), various physical symptoms(29.6%), and problems associated with their emotion(11.1%). 6) 16.7% of the family caregivers hoped for full recovery of the patients, refusing to admit the status of the patients. Also, 37% wished for the extension of the patient's life at least for 6 months. 7) Only 38.9% of the family members was preparing for the patient's funeral. 8) 45.4% of family caregivers prefer hospital as the place for the patient's death, 39.8% their own home, and 14.8% undetermined. 9) Caregivers of the patients were mostly close family members, i.e., spouse(62%), and sons and daughters or daughter-in-laws(21.3%). 10) 43.5% of the family caregivers were aware of hospice care. 46.8% of them learned about the hospice care from the mass media, 27.7% from health professionals, and the rest from books and other sources. 11) Caregivers were asked about the most difficult problems they encounter in home care, 41 of them pointed out the lack of health professionals they can contact, counsel and get help from in case of emergency, 17 identified the difficulty of finding appropriate transportation to hospital, and 13 stated the difficulty of admission in hospital as needed. 12) 93.6% of family caregivers demanded 24-hour hot line, 80% the visiting nurses and doctors, and 69.4% the volunteer's help. The above results indicate that terminal patients and their family caregivers demand help from qualified health professionals whenever necessary. Hospice care system led by well-trained medical and nursing staffs is one of the viable answers for such demands.

영동지역(嶺東地域) 주부(主婦)들의 식생활관리(食生活管理) 및 영양지식(營養知識)에 관한 실태조사(實態調査) (Research on the Status of the Meal Management and Nutritional Knowledge of the Housewives Living in Yong-dong Area)

  • 영동지역 주부들의 식생활관리(食生活管理) 및 영양지식(營養知識)에 관한 실태조사(實態調査)의 결과(結果)는 다음과 같다. 1. 식생활계획(食生活計劃) 및 관리(管理) (1) 식생활비(食生活費) 예산계획(豫算計劃)과 실행(實行)이 잘되지 않거나 또 주식(主食)만 세우고 부식(副食)은 적당히 구입(購入)하는 주부(主婦)가 많았다. (2) 식단(食單)을 계획(計劃)하여 생활(生活)하는 주부(主婦)가 30.5% 정도(程度)로 대체적으로 식단계획(食單計訓)은 잘되지 않고 있었다. (3)식품구입(食品購入)횟수는 일반적으로 잦은 펀이었다. 식품(食品)을 구입(購入)할 장소(場所)를 택할 때 식품(食品)의 품질(品質)과 값을 우선으로 생각하는 비율이 가장 많았고, 다음이 시간(時間)과 거리, 습관적인 면, 보관시설의 순(順)이었다. (4) 조리시(調理時) 중점적으로 고려하는 점은 음식의 맛이 43.7%로 가장 높았고, 식성, 영양의 순(順)이었다. (5) 가정관리(家庭管理)에 대한 주부(主婦)의 관심도 중 가족영양 및 음식만들기가 20.5%로 자녀 및 가족돌보기 보다 낮은 관심도를 나타내었다. (6) 아침, 점심용 밥을 한꺼번에 준비하는 율이 가장 높았고, 먹고 남은 음식은 대부분 다시 먹었다. 식사시(食事時) 한 끼 반찬의 수는 57.8%가 $3{\sim}4$가지를 준비했고, 조리방법중(調理方法中) 가장 많이 이용하는 것은 찌개, 국, 나물의 순(順)이었다. (7) 혼식은 대체로 자주하고 있으며, 분식은 1주일에 한 끼 정도가 51.7%로 가장 많았다. 그러나 매일 아침 빵식인 가정(家庭)은 6.1%로 대부분의 가정(家庭)은 아침 식사로 밥을 좋아하였다. (8) 편식을 고치는 것이 어렵다고 하였으며, 어린이 간식에 대하여는 깊은 관심을 나타냈다. 2. 영양교육(營養敎育) 현황실태(現況實態) (1)식생활(食生活)에 필요한 지식(知識)은 신문이나 잡지, 라디오와 텔레비젼을 통해서 대체로 얻고 있다. (2) 음식과 영양섭취와의 관계성이 있다고 답한 주부(主婦)는 70.8% 이었으며, 가족(家族)의 영양(營養)에 대하여 늘 생각하는 주부는 60% 이었다. 3. 식품섭취 빈도 거의 먹지 않는 식품(食品)으로 버터가 43.%로 가장 높았고, 육류의 섭취율이 낮았다. 반면, 김치와 채소류의 섭취율은 높았다. 집단간의 상관도를 보면 교육별로 김치, 장아찌, 콩이 각각 p>0.5 수준에서 유의한 차가 없었고, 나머지는 유의한 차가 있었다. 연령별로는 멸치가 유의한 차가 없었고(p>0.5), 수입별로는 콩이 유의한 차가 없었다(p>0.5). 4. 영양지식(營養知識) 검토 가정생활(家庭生活)에 필요(必要)한 일반적(一般的)인 영양지식(營養知識)은 대체적으로 낮은 편이었다. 어린이 영양, 편식의 해로움, 비만증의 해로움, 임신부 그리고 수유부 영양에 대하여는 일반적으로 알고 있다고 하였으며, 그다음으로 이유기 영양, 어린이 발육에 필요한 식품, 식품과 영양소와의 관계, 우유의 성분, 노인영양에 대하여 잘 알고 있는 비율이 낮았으며, 인체의 영양소, 식단작성여부, 간식의 이론, 식품감별법에 대하여는 가장 낮은 비율을 나타냈다. 각 영양지식은 교육정도가 높을수록 영양지식이 높았고, 교육별 집단간의 유의한 차가 나타났다. 일부도시국민학교취학아동의 보건생활에 관한 실태조사연구 (A Study on Health Aspects of Daily Life of Elementary School Children in an Urban Area)

  • This study was carried out for the objectives to collect the basic informations on the health behaviors of the elementary school children in an urban area in Korea. Seven hundred students were drawn to fill in the designed questionnaire which carries variety of Questions on health re-lated behaviors in general, eating habits, disease history, mental health, and sex education. Questionnaire were filled in by their parents. Major findings are as follows: ① 55.7% had habits of washing the hands before eating whereas 59.8% trashing their hands after toilet. The others had no idea of washing hands before eating and after toilet. ② 26,5% had habits of brushing the teeth twice a day 54.7% only once in the morning, and 2.6% once only in the evening. Thus, the idea of prevention from decayed teeth seems to be lacking among the school children. ③ Bathing habits were also inquired to get 40.3% of bathing more than once a week, 43.1% once every two weeks, and the rest of 16.6% once every one to three months. ④ 41.7% keep the regular bedding time whereas 58.3% irregular. Physical exercises were con-ducted by 76.6% on the ground while 23.5% did not practice any physical exercises at all. Of those physical exercises, rope skipping occupied 37.5%, and the other 66.9% consisted of 14 different kinds of individual type physical exercises such as gymnastic exercise. The main reasons for not enjoying exercises were different by sex; boys largely complained the inadequacy and lack of gymnastic facilities and girls felt in short of friends who could join the exercises. ⑤ 31.9% of the school children had been taking not much of food while 28.3% had unbalanced diets. Of these unbalanced diets, meat occupied 33.2% to be the priority to have an order of the following items such as vegetables, bread or noodle, and fishes as next to each. For eating habits, 88.5% take simple snack such as bread (38.4%, cookies, fruits, and candies in order. 25.8% of the children were provided such snacks or their parents regularly. Breakfast was sufficiently taken by 45.0% whereas 8.4% had never sufficiently. As to the lunch, 63.6% had sufficiently while 16.8% insufficiently. 70.6% take breakfast with all family members together and 30.4% separately. Correlation of sufficient taking of breakfast and eating together of tile family member's seems to be significant when we compare 72.5% of sufficient takers who enjoy breakfast together with the family members with 55.6% of insufficient takers who enjoy it with the family. This finding allows the investigator to point out the importance of table circumstances for children's eating. ⑥ The most common disease was catching a cold (38.8%), and the second was stomach trouble to be followed by the frequency of car sickness, headache, and skin infection. Doctors are consulted only by 23.9% when they are sick whereas 59.7% resorted to the drug stores. The lower the educational attainment of the parents, the lower the rate of visiting clinics. ⑦ 36.7% of their parents pointed out the problems of personality guidance as the most difficult thing at home 71.3% of their parents worried about and unsatisfied with their children's personality traits. Of these complains of the parents, impatience stood at the top to be tabulated at 24.1%, and 21.1% indicated narrow-mindedness. In line with this primary socialization at home, the most crucial problem seems to be related with the lack or recognition of the parents'own role when we find only 43.1% of the parents understood the importance of their own role for the home education of children; the latter group attributed tile responsibility of personality formation to the children themselves. ⑧ As to the sex educational aspects, 30.9% of children have ever asked about the physiology of reproduction or sexual matters to their parents, of those parents only 17.0% could give the constructive responses to the inquiries of the children. In companies on with these data, 25.6% recognized their own role in sex education for their own children while the large segments of the parents (51.1%) attributed the responsibility of sex education to tile low level of 38.3% who recognized the importance of sex education in the school curriculum and 25.1% of the parents insisted to wait until they get to know naturally about sex. 38.1% of the parents said they had some knowledge on sex from books while 16.9% through mass media. The next groups had common senses of sex from their own parents, school friends and other sources.

학교보건(學校保健)의 개선방안(改善方案) 연구(硏究) (A Study of Improvement of School Health in Korea)

  • This study is designed to analyze the problems of health education in schools and explore the ways of enhancing health education from a historical perspective. It also shed light on the managerial aspect of health education (including medical-check-up for students disease management. school feeding and the health education law and its organization) as well as its educational aspect (including curriculum, teaching & learning, and wishes of teachers). At the same time it attempted to present the ways of resolving the problems in health education as identified her. Its major findings are as follows; I. Colculsion and Summary 1. Despite the importance of health education, the area remains relatively undeveloped. Students spend a greater part of their time in schools. Hence the government should develop a keener awareness of the importance of health education and invest more in it to ensure a healthy, comfortable life for students. 2. At the moment the outcomes of medical-check-up for students, which constitutes the mainstay of health education, are used only as statistical data to report to the relevant authorities. Needless to say they should be used to help improve the wellbeing of students. Specifically, nurse-teachers and home-room teachers should share the outcomes of medical-check-up to help the students wit shortcomings in growth or development or other physical handicaps more clearly recognize their problems and correct them if possible. 3. In the area of disease management, 62.6, 30.3 and 23.0 percent of primary, middle, and highschool students, respectively, were found to suffer from dental ailments. By contrast 2.2, 7.8, and 11.5 percent of primary, middle and highschool students suffered from visual disorders. The incidence of dental ailments decreases while that of visual impairments increases as students grow up. This signifies that students are under tremendous physical strain in their efforts to be admitted by schools of higher grade. Accordingly the relevant authorities should revise the current admission system as well as improve lighting system in classrooms. 4. Budget restraints have often been cited as a major bottleneck to the expansion of school feeding. Nevertheless it should be extended at least, to all primary schools even at the expense of parents to ensure the sound growth of children by improving their diet. 5. The existing health education law should be revised in such a way as to better meet the needs of schools. Also the manpower for health education should be strengthened. 6. Proper curriculum is essential to the effective implementation of health education. Hence it is necessary to remove those parts in the current health education curriculum that overlaps with other subjects. It is also necessary to make health education a compulsory course in teachers' college at the same time the teachers in charge of health education should be given an in-service training. 7. Currently health education is being taught as part of physical education, science, home economics or other courses. However these subjects tend to be overshadowed by English, mathematics, and other subjects which carry heavier weight in admission test. It is necessary among other things, to develop an educational plan specifying the course hours and teaching materials. 8. Health education is carried out by nurse-teachers or home-room teachers. In connection with health education, they expressed the hope that health education will be normalized with newly-developed teaching material, expanded opportunity for in-service training and increased budget, facilities and supply of manpower. These are the mainpoints that the decision-makers should take into account in the formation of future policy for health education. II. Recommendations for the Improvement of Health Education 1. Regular medical check-up for students, which now is the mainstay of health education, should be used as educational data in an appropriate manner. For instance the records of medical check-up could be transferred between schools. 2. School feeding should be expanded at least in primary schools at the expense of the government or even parents. It will help improve the physical wellbeing of youths and the diet for the people. 3. At the moment the health education law is only nominal. Hence the law should be revised in such a way as to ensure the physical wellbeing of students and faculty. 4. Health education should be made a compulsory course in teachers' college. Also the teachers in service should be offered training in health education. 5. The curriculum of health education should be revised. Also the course hours should be extended or readjusted to better meet the needs of students. 6. In the meantime the course hours should be strictly observed, while educational materials should be revised in no time. 7. The government should expand its investment in facilities, budget and personnel for health education in schools at all levels.

의생활자원 관점에서의 실과(기술ㆍ가정) 환경교육방안에 관한 연구 (The Strategy for the Environmental Education through the Practical Arts(TechnologyㆍHome economics) Subject in a viewpoint of the Clothing & Textiles resources)

  • 본 연구는 의생활 영역의 환경문제를 해결하고자 의생활자원관점에서 실과(기술ㆍ가정) 교과에서 환경교육적 방안을 제시하는데 목적을 두고 수행되었으며 이를 달성하기 위하여 의생활 자원의 소비, 의생활자원의 환경문제 및 이에 대한 정부의 정책과 규제와 기업의 섬유환경기술, 환경교육에 관한 자료를 고찰하였다. 연구의 주요결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 본 연구에서는 의생활 자원 관점에서의 환경교육 체제는 학교교육을 중심으로 한 정부, 가정, 기업, 환경단체의 상호연계 체제로 이루어져야하며, 아울러 의생활 자원 관점에서 환경교육은 실과(기술ㆍ가정) 교과에서 담당하는 것이 가장 타당하다는 것을 확인 할 수 있었다. 둘째로, 실과(기술ㆍ가정) 의생활 영역에서 다루어져야 할 환경교육내용을 '의생활 환경자원의 인식(섬유소비량 생산과 환경문제)', '의류의 마련과 계획 및 구매(계획, 구매)', '의류의 관리(피복재료의 이해, 인체와 환경, 세탁과 환경오염, 정리와 보관)', '의류의 재활용 및 폐기(기부, 리디자인, 리사이클, 폐기)'의 4개영역의 12개 하위요소를 추출하여, 실과(기술ㆍ가정) 의생활 영역 환경교육내용의 분석 준거로 삼았다. 셋째, 의생활 영역에서 다루어져야 할 환경교육내용을 준거로 현행 실과(기술ㆍ가정)교과를 분석한 결과, 의생활과 관련한 환경 교육은 중학교 과정에서 가장 많이 담당하고 있는 것으로 나타났으며, 의생활과 관련한 환경교육 내용면에서는 초ㆍ중등 모두 재활용 부분에 집중되어 있으며 나머지 영역에서는 미흡한 것으로 나타났다. 넷째, 실과(기술ㆍ가정) 교과에서의 의생활영역의 환경교육 내용을 분석한 후 실과(기술ㆍ가정) 각 의생활 단원에서 다루어지지 않았거나 미흡한 내용의 환경교육 강화 방안을 제시하였다. 행동은 물론 과잉 행동에 직, 간접적으로 유의적인 영향을 미치고 있음을 알 수 있었다. 이러한 결과는 어머니의 식생활 환경은 아동의 영양 관리 및 아동의 성장, 발달 및 행동과 학습 행동에 중요한 영향력을 미칠 수 있는 것으로 나타나 어머니의 식생활 환경의 중요성을 강조하여야 할 것이다.재 사용비율은 경기도, 충남에서는 거의 50% 수준에 육박한다. 골재 석산은 경기도, 경북, 경남, 충북에서 거의 비슷한 비율로 분포하며 오히려 전북에서의 골재 석산의 수는 적은 편에 속한다. 강원도가 골재석산의 수가 가장 적은 편이다.지렁이와 토양 미생물에 아무런 영향을 미치지 않았고 토양 중 반감기도 15일 이내로 토양 중에 노출 시 매우 신속하게 분해 소실되어 그 위해성은 매우 낮은 수준인 것으로 판단되며, 작물 재배지에서 밭고랑의 잡초 방제를 위해 비산방지 기구를 이용하여 살포할 경우에는 재배 작물에 안전한 것으로 판단되었다.0.65% 첨가했을 때 WG, SGR, FE, PER이 가장 높았으나, 이전의 실험(Takeuchi, 1980)과 동일한 수준인 n-3와 n-6를 각각 0.5%씩 첨가한 실험구와는 유의적인 차이를 보이지 않았다. 이렇게 볼 때, 뱀장어 치어의 필수지방산은 LNA (n-3), LA (n-6)이고, 그 적정수준은 각각 0.35-0.5%, 0.5-0.65%임을 보여준다.George W, Bush)가 새로운 지도자로 취임하여 얼마 되지 않은 2001년 9월 11일 사상 초유로 본토에서 알 카에다 테러리스트 조직에 의해 공격받게 되었다. 뉴욕의 세계무역센터 빌딩 2개가 완전히 붕괴되고, 펜타곤에 민간 여객기가 충돌하여 많은 사람이 살상 당하고, 전체적으로 세계 80여 개국으로부터의 6천여 명이 살상되었다. 전 세계와

청소년의 식품구매태도에 대한 환경 요인의 영향 (Impact of the Environmental Factors on Adolescents' Food Purchasing Attitudes)

  • 본 연구는 대구지역에 거주하는 중학생 476명을 대상으로 식품구매태도 및 식품구매태도에 영향을 미치는 환경 요인에 대하여 조사·분석하여 청소년들의 올바른 식품구매 능력을 향상시키는 방안을 마련하고 식생활교육 프로그램 개발에 기초자료를 제공하고자 실시하였다. 청소년들의 식품구매태도 및 식품구매태도에 영향을 미치는 환경 요인에 대한 연구 결과를 요약하면 다음과 같다. 첫째, 청소년들은 식품을 구입할 때 경제성(3.81±0.64), 맛(3.70±0.72), 안전성(3.52±0.78), 건강(2.93±0.92)의 순서로 중요하게 생각하는 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 여학생(3.85±0.62)이 남학생(3.72±0.68)보다 경제성을 유의적으로 더 고려하는 것으로 나타났고(p<.05), 학년에 따라 기호(p<.01)와 안전성(p<.01)을 고려하는 정도에 차이가 있었으며, 용돈액수에 따라 경제성에 대한 태도에 유의적인 차이가 드러났다(p<.05). 셋째, 식품을 구매할 때 청소년들은 부모의 영향(3.44±0.62)을 가장 많이 받고 있었으며 친구의 영향(2.43±0.60)은 적은 것으로 나타났다. 성별에 따라 부모(p<.05)와 상표(p<.05), 학년에 따라 친구(p<.01)와 부모(p<.05)의 영향에 차이가 있었으며, 용돈 액수에 따라서 친구(p<.01)의 영향에 차이가 있는 것으로 나타났다. 넷째, 식품구매 태도와 부모(r=.424), 광고(r=0.194), 상표(r=0.184)는 상관관계가 있는 것으로 나타났다(p<.001). 각 환경요인들이 청소년의 식품구매태도에 미치는 영향에 대한 회귀분석을 실시한 결과, 부모(β=.390, p<.001)와 광고(β=.102, p<.05)는 긍정적, 친구(β=-.122, p<.05)는 부정적인 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났고, 상표는 영향력이 없었다. 결론적으로 대구지역 청소년들은 식품을 구매할 때 가격과 맛을 우선적으로 고려하고 부모의 영향을 많이 받는 것으로 나타났다. 따라서 청소년들이 올바른 식품구매태도를 형성할 수 있도록 소비자 역할모델이 되는 부모님들의 적극적인 역할과 지도가 요구되며, 교육현장에서도 청소년들을 대상으로 바람직한 식품선택 및 구매를 위한 식생활교육 프로그램을 개발하여 적절한 교육서비스를 제공해야 할 것이다.

일부(一部) 전남지역(全南地域) 여자중학생(女子中學生)들의 영양실태(營養寶態) 조사연구(調査硏究) - 전라남도(全羅南道) 장흥군(長輿郡)과 보성군(寶城郡)을 중심(中心)으로 - (A Study on Nutrition Intake of Middle School Girls in Chonnam Area)

  • The purpose of this study was to get a data which can provide a basis for future direction in nutritional education and to build up right eating habit and to find the way how to improve food life and the nutritional supply by evaluating the current nutritional intake of average middle school girls through the survey study of their daily food intakes and physical status. The survey of nutritional intakes and physical status in two girls middle schools, namely Jang'hung girls middle school at Jang'hung Up and Bo'song girls middle school at Bo'song Up, were carried by teachers majoring in Home Economics and nurse-teachers from 5 July to 7 July 1983. From a total of 1080 subjects of two girls middle schools, 887 subjects were surveyed. The results obtained from survey are summarized as follow: 1) Physical Status Average height, weight and chest girth of subjects in both middle schools were much lower than the Korean average standard (p<0.005${\sim}$p<0.001) and t-score of differences between two middle school girls were not significant. Rohrer index, nutrition rate and physique rate were also lower than Korean averag standard through all the ages in both girls middle schools. Menarche appeared mainly between the age of 13 to 15 (91.55 %), with a mean age of 14 (35. 01 %) and which was experienced by the subjects of 51.52 percentage among total surveyed Iniddlf school girls. 2) Nutritional Intakes The average daily intakes of all nutrient except iron, vitamin A, thiamin, ascorbic acid and niacin was lower than Korean Recommanded Dietary Allowances (RDA) . Especially average intake of calorie and calcium were much lower than Korean RDA(p<0.001) while average intake of thiamine and ascorbic acid were much higher than Korean RDA (p<0.001). T-score of differences of iron, thiamin, riboflavin between two middle school girls were very significant (p<0.001). Generally iron and riboflavin were the highest rate of intakes through three meals and breakfast took charge of considerable amount of all nutrient intake without omitting anything (about 30 % of daily nutrient intake). The nutrients of which ratio of nutrient intake by snack was more than 16.7 % were vitamin A, thiamin, riboflavin, ascorbic acid etc. and snack foods which were intake frequently in both middle school girls commonly were fruits, milk and milk products, bread and biscuits in sequence. 3) Correlations and t-score between physical status, menarche and nutrient intakes. Average intake of calorie at Jang'hung area was positively correlated with height, weight, nutrition rate and physique rate and this correlation was very significant (p<0.005). Average intake of calorie was also correlated with chest girth and Rohrer index (P<0.05). At Bo'song area, averse intake of riboflavin was negatively correlated with all the items of physical status (p<0.05-p<0.005), vitamin A was negatively correlated with chest girth and Rohrer index (p<0.05 respectively) and thiamin was also negatively correlated with chest girth, Rohrer index and nutrition rate (p<0.05 respectively). Especially niacin showed a negative cor-relation with all the items of physical status very significantly (p<0.005).The time of menarche showed a positive correlation with iron in both middle school girls commonly P<0.05 at Jang'hung, p<0.10 at Bo'song).

비만 남자 대학생의 혈청 지질, 인슐린 및 혈장 아스코르브산의 농도에 관한 연구 (A Study of the Levels of Serum Lipid, Insulin and Plasma Ascorbic Acid in Obese College Men)

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the blood concentrations of lipids, insulin and ascorbic acid, and their correlations in obese college men in Gyeongnam area. The blood pressure was significantly higher (p<0.001) in the obese group($127.8{\pm}7.2/86.7{\pm}9.2\;mmHg$) than the control group($112.8{\pm}6.6/71.9{\pm}6.6\;mmHg$). The serum triglyceride (p<0.01), total cholesterol (p<0.01), LDL-cholesterol (p<0.05), insulin (p<0.001) concentrations and atherogenic index (AI) (p<0.001) were significantly higher in the obese group ($158.8{\pm}79.7\;{\mu}U/L$, $185.0{\pm}26.8\;{\mu}U/L$, $111.9{\pm}28.1\;{\mu}U/L$, $15.2{\pm}5.6\;{\mu}U/L$, $3.6{\pm}1.0$) than the control group($111.9{\pm}35.8\;{\mu}U/L$, $165.9{\pm}19.4\;{\mu}U/L$, $97.0{\pm}16.4\;{\mu}U/L$, $8.9{\pm}4.4\;{\mu}U/L$, $2.6{\pm}0.3$), but HDL-cholesterol concentration was significantly higher (p<0.01) in the control group($46.5{\pm}7.2\;{\mu}U/L$) than the obese group($41.3{\pm}6.9\;{\mu}U/L$). On the other hand, there was no significant difference in the plasma ascorbic acid concentration in both groups. The ascorbic acid concentration was negatively correlated with total cholesterol level in the control group, and with triglyceride, total cholesterol levels and diastolic blood pressure in the obese group (p<0.05). These data show that young adult obesity might be related to hyperlipidemia, atherosclerosis, hypertension and diabetes mellitus, and that the nutrition of ascorbic acid is more important for obese males than normal weight males.

아동의 안전에 관한 인식과 교육 실태 조사 연구 (Research on the Cognition and Education of Safety for Children)

  • It is necessary to examine from primary school children's viewpoint to perception of safety as to how they cope with a condition threatening safety at the realistic world with risky environment and whether knowledge obtained through education is transmitted to action in a correct way. For this, this study explored and analyzed children's perspective to safety felt in life, their achievement of education to safety as trainees, and their perception extent to safety. As a result of it, following conclusion could be obtained. First, as for safety on their way to school and home, the lower grade they were, the more they felt safe, but the higher they were, the more they felt uneasy, which was examined that they generally had uncomfortable mind. Second, as for whether safety education was performed or not, it was indicated that safety education was generally executed, but lower graders responded that safety education was executed, but high graders responded that it was not executed. Third, as for observance of traffic rules, it was examined lower graders kept them well, but higher graders did not do so. Fourth, as for safety of play, it was indicated lower graders wore protective equipment by parents' concern, but higher graders did not wear them since they were full of confidence counting on their capability. Fifth, as for life safety, it was indicated the area most preferentially educated from parents' viewpoint was traffic safety, and the next ones were gas and fire safety. Sixth, as for fire safety, it was indicated they did not play with fire, but higher graders compared to lower ones, played with fire as the means of curiosity and play. Thus, curricula for children's safety education executed from adults' viewpoint should be established, and assessment of children's safety education should get out of the limitation of execution of safety education to habituated action by the transmission of children's knowledge. Also it is urgent to develop programs with which to perform children;'s education at the level of children, establish and operate safety education facilities for practice education that teachers and children can receive safety education through experience by building up children's safety education related entities. And it is thought that safety should not left to only children, but their safety would be kept by developing and training safety education programs to all organizations and individuals related to safety.
