근로자 저축유인과 정년연장의 경제적 효과 (Incentive to Save and the Effects of Extended Mandatory Retirement Age)

  • 본 논문은 정년연장(근로기간 연장)의 경제효과를 분석한다. 근로기간 연장으로 인해 저축이 감소하여 자본투입이 하락할 경우, 근로자의 생애소득과 후생이 오히려 하락할 수도 있는 것으로 분석되었다. 그러나 자본이동에 대해 개방된 경제에서는 자본 유출입을 통해 생산요소의 가격 변화가 최소화되므로 근로자의 생애소득과 후생이 향상될 가능성이 높은 것으로 분석되었다. 따라서 후자의 경우에는 기존 근로자의 후생을 유지하면서도 추가적인 노동수요 확대를 모색할 수 있어 정년연장이 청년층 실업 완화에도 기여할 수 있을 것으로 판단된다.

수산·해운전문계열 교사자격증 표시과목 개선 방안 연구 (A Study on Improvement for Indication Subject of Fisheries and Maritime High School Teacher's Certificate)

  • The purpose of this research was made to suggest the improvement for problems of indication subject of Fisheries & Maritime High School teacher's certificate issued by the operation of the 7th national curriculum in 2000. After analyzing the integrated indication subjects related with fisheries & Maritime high school, among the middle school teacher's 24 subjects of industrial world, the problems and improvements can be arranged as followed. Firstly, the subjects of fisheries & Maritime high school teacher's certificates are fishing industry, aquiculture, sailing, engine and freezing and new subjects are ocean shipping and ocean logistics. Because the teacher's certificate was changed to integrated indication subjects, there were problems of teacher cultivation, teacher hiring, etc. So, in the actual field of school, teacher cultivating university and related department are necessary to strengthen high-quality majoring education/subjects and practical education as well as need to establish teacher cultivating system by teacher cultivating organization's evaluation system and teacher cultivating education program related by differentiation and easiness of majoring characterization. Secondly, teacher cultivating for new departments and new subjects can apply related major system, free major system, etc. Thirdly, if professional high schools find majoring areas whose content is same one another and introduce common indication subject system, it will be helpful to improve the quality of teachers, teacher certification examination, etc. of professional area.

건강근로자효과의 최소화 방안과 보정 방법 (Methods to Minimize or Adjust for Healthy Worker Effect in Occupational Epidemiology)

  • Healthy worker effect (HWE) refers to the consistent tendency for actively employed individuals to have a more favorable mortality experience than the population at large. Although HWE has been well known since the 1970s, only a few studies in occupational epidemiology have attempted to fully define and evaluate HWE. HWE can be separated into effects on the initial hiring into the workforce (healthy worker hire effect) and those on continuing employment (healthy worker survival effect). In this review, we summarize the methods for minimizingor adjusting for the healthy worker effect available in occupational epidemiology. It is noteworthy that healthy worker survival effect appears complicated, considering that employment status plays simultaneous roles as a counfounding variable and intermediate variable, whereas healthy worker hire effect may be adjusted by incorporating health status at baseline into the statistical model. In addition, two retrospective cohort studies for workers in the semiconductor industry and Vietnam veterans in Korea, respectively, were introduced, and their results were explained in terms of healthy worker effect.

어린이집 원장의 초임보육교사 채용에 대한 인식과 선발과정에 관한 연구 (Daycare Center Director's Perception and Selection Process on the Recruitment of Beginning Teacher)

  • Objective: The purpose of this study is to explore daycare-center director's perceptons of recruitment and to understand how hire beginning teachers. Methods: One hundred twenty-five directors of daycare-centers in Seoul, Incheon, and Gyeonggi-do Province answered a questionnaire that was developed by researchers. The results were analyzed by frequency analysis, descriptive statistics and multiple response analysis through SPSS 18.0. Furthermore, 17 of the directors that participated in the study were given individual interviews by qualitative methods for research. Results: First, 56.8% of the directors felt difficulty to employ beginning teachers because of 'lack of information about them' and 'uncertainty of practice capability.' On the other hand, other directors of daycare-centers said that they hire them for 'high acceptance' and 'operational efficiency of the daycare-center.' Second, the main way to recruit teachers for daycare-centers is open recruitment, and through recommendations of acquaintances or through colleges in relevant fields. Professional talent and personal characteristics were important selection criteria for recruitment, and daycare-center directors used interviews, résumés, cover-letters, and demo classes for the hiring process. Primarily, most directors select candidates through résumés and cover-letters, and the final selection is completed by conducting interviews. Conclusion/Implications: In conclusion, this study can be useful to prepare beginning teachers for employment and for educating applicants.

An Input-Output Analysis on the Economic Effect of the Korean First Medium-term Logistics Plan (2001-2005)

  • This study introduces the adoption of the logistics industry by the Korean government as a threshold of overcoming economic difficulties. The core contents of the National Logistics Plans (2001-2020) which contain the basic principles of the logistics policies of the Korean government and its aim to be an 'Excellent Nation of Logistics' is introduced. The economic effect of the logistics policies implemented between 2001 and 2005, (the period of the first Medium-term Logistics Plan according to the National Logistics Plans (2001-2020) set up by the Korean government at the end of 2000) is estimated through input-output analysis. The input-output analysis result is as follows: the total output effect is 8,856 billion won of which indirect output effect is 3,982.9 billion won; indirect output effect comes mainly from real estate and business services, non-metal products, metal products, electrical and electronics products, finance and insurance, wholesale and retail, petroleum and coal; the total amount of value-added effect is 3,376 billion won and total import effect is 726 billion won. Employment effect including self-employed and unpaid family supporters with paid laborers is 79,203.7 people of which paid laborers comprise 67,547.7 people.

공동주택관리사의 전문직화를 위한 탐색적 연구 (A Study for Professionalizlng of Multi-family Housing Manager)

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the difficulty of doing job among housing manager. It might be Provide the basic opinion which could be used for professionalizing of housing manager. The survey had been made 156 housing manager in managerial situation of multi-family housing for sale(so called condominium). The analytical methods adopted in this study were frequency, percentage, 1-test, one-way ANOVA, post-hoc estimation(Scheffe test), correlation by the SPSS 10.1 for Windows program. The major findings of this study were as follows. First, it was revealed that many housing manager thought about Residents' Committee In the negative. Because housing manager considered that Residents' Committee interfered in housing manager's business, on the other hand they set a low value on Residents' Committee disposition and its knowledge about housing management. Second, it was founded that a lot of housing manager felt uneasy about his employment for the reason mentioned. Actually Residents' Committee exercised its influence over hiring as well as dismissing housing manager in any management alternatives. Third, it was necessary that synthetic plan might be prepared for housing manager to educate, to re-educate, to furnish information etc. about related in housing management for the specialization of housing management.

이동 멀티미디어 서비스를 위한 수신버퍼 제어에 관한 연구 (A study on the receive buffer control schemes for bobile multimedia services)

  • 본 논문에서는 고속 무선채널올 통해 실시간 동영상 정보를 전송할 때 이동 수신측에서 적응적 버퍼제어방법을 사용함으로서 셀 경계에서 핸드오버 등으로 인해 발생되는 지연 스파이크(delay spike)에 대해 효과적으로 대처할 수 있는 방안을 제안한다. 제안한 방법을 확인하기 위해 무선채널의 랜덤오류와 버스트 오류 및 핸드오버 등에 의한 패킷 전송지연 특성을 모델링하고, 본 논문에서 제안한 방식과 기존에 제안된 방식을 패킷 전송지연 모델에 적용하여 지연 및 지연 스파이크에 의한 수선버퍼의 적응도를 비교, 평가하였다. 또한 H.263방식으로 압축한 동영상 데이터를 제안한 알고리즘에 적용해 봄으로서 버퍼지연과 버퍼넘침 발생 등이 기존-의 방식에 비해 감소함을 확인하였다.

  • Recently, the increasing need for internet and the activation of hiring business of communication line makes the demand for OPGW cable which can construct the optical communication network in the basis of existing overhead power transmission line. Especially, the demand is focused on the high fiber count OPGW due to high capacity transmission. In step with the trend toward high fiber count cable we have developed the Stainless Steel Loose Tube type OPGW within which have 144core firstly in KOREA. This paper describes the cable design and manufacturing process which gives the stable operation in very severe conditions and the long-term reliability test results conducted in according to dominant specification IEEE Std. 1138-1194.

기업의 핵심역량이 IT 아웃소싱 성과에 직접적인 관련이 있을 것인가? (Does the Understanding of Core Competencies Matter to IT Outsourcing Performance?)

  • IT outsourcing providers has been expanded from a single functional system to the entire IT service to gain sustainable competitiveness. This new trend of IT outsourcing need outsourcing management capability based on a firm's core capacity. Hiring external IT service providers to manage part or all of its information-related services helps a firm focus on its core business and provides better services to its clients, thus obtaining sustainable competitive advantage. This research investigates the major factors that determine the level of a particular firm's success at IT outsourcing. Based on process innovation and core-competency theories, we identify three significant components of a firm's IT outsourcing management method (ITOMM): level of core-competency-based management, maturity of outsourced tasks, and maturity of outsourcing management. Comprehensive data collection was conducted through an outsourcing association. The survey data were analyzed using a structural analysis method. Maturity of outsourced tasks and maturity of outsourcing management were found to affect project performance directly, while level of core-competency-based management only indirectly impacted project performance through its positive impact on the other two ITOMM components.

CEO Education-Performance Relationship: Evidence from Saudi Arabia

  • The study investigates the association between CEO education and firm performance with a sample of 85 nonfinancial firms listed on the Saudi stock exchange during 2018 applying ordinary least squares method. CEO education is defined by three variables, the level of education, if the degree-granting institution is domestic or foreign, and if the highest degree is in management or other fields of study. Financial performance is measured by return on assets and return on equity. Firm size, age, liquidity and growth are introduced as control variables. The study shows that 58 CEOs of the firms studied are graduates, 38 have obtained their degree from a domestic institution and 44 have a management degree. Graduate CEOs are found to enhance performance. Graduating from a domestic institution influences performance positively. Management degree of CEO does not seem to impact performance. Firm size, liquidity and growth are positively associated with performance. Firm age does not explain performance differences of firms. Results are robust to performance measures. The findings of the study suggest that firms can benefit from a CEO hiring policy that emphasizes on the minimum qualification set as graduation or higher, education from a domestic institution and no undue weight on management qualification.
