  • We demonstrate highly efficient White Polymer Electrophosphorescent Light-emitting Diode using newly developed green and red light emitting heteroleptic iridium complex, Ir-(pq)2tpy, and blue light emitting fluorescent dopant, BczVBi. The best luminous efficiency reached 28cd/A with maximum luminance of 87000cd/m2. The scheme for determining optimum device architecture and dopant concentrations were constructed.

  • The $VCl_3$/In system was found to be a new protocol for debromination of a variety of vic-dibromides to the corresponding alkenes in high yields with short reaction times under mild conditions. This new methodology is highly chemoselective, tolerating several functional groups such as chloro, bromo, fluoro, keto, ester, carboxyl, and methoxy groups.

  • Transnasal esophagoscopy allows. the upper aerodigestive tract, from the nasal cavity to the gastric cardia to be examined in the outpatients department. It is well tolerated by patient with topical anesthesia alone and no sedation or patient preparation is required. The technique is easily learned and performed in the otolaryngologist and highly cost efficient. It is a useful tool for accurate diagnosis and can be used in a variety of office-based procedures.

  • A high-efficiency turbo steam compressor has been successfully developed for the MVR desalination system, first one in Korea. The state-of-the-art design methods using real gas properties were applied to get all the aerodynamic design results. Bull and pinion gear trains, tilting-pad bearings and investment cast impellers were developed also to be integrated into the integral gear-driven turbo steam compressor. System tests show highly efficient performance.

  • In this paper, a decentralized adaptive controller is proposed to control robot manipulators which are governed by highly nonlinear dynamic equations. The controller is computationally efficient since it does not require mathematical model or parameter values of robot manipulators. The stability of the manipulators with the controller is proved by Lyapunov theory. The results of numerical simulations show that the system is stable, and has excellent trajectory tracking performance.

  • Base Station Controller which belongs to IMT-2000(International Mobile Telecommunication - 2000) network has several types of structure for efficient control protocol. This difference of structure occurs two different protocols for call handling. Recently the need of IMT-2000 is highly increasing, so it is important to analyze the performance of processors and IPC(Inter-Processor Communication) module with structure of BSC and protocol difference. This paper presents the performance comparison of different types of BSC in view of processor utilization, waiting time, queue length and QoS(Quality of Service) through the simulation model.

  • The current study presents a mathematical model and numerical method for free vibration of tapered piles embedded in two-parameter elastic foundations. The method of Discrete Singular Convolution (DSC) is used for numerical simulation. Bernoulli-Euler beam theory is considered. Various numerical applications demonstrate the validity and applicability of the proposed method for free vibration analysis. The results prove that the proposed method is quite easy to implement, accurate and highly efficient for free vibration analysis of tapered beam-columns embedded in Winkler- Pasternak elastic foundations.
