A Verification Study on the Temperature reduction Effect of Water Mist Injection

  • Purpose: Recently, according to climate changes, human health is exposed to danger over the world and they influence all fields of human society. Due to these climate changes, humans can be exposed to more frequent and extreme scorching heat and cold wave than the present. As precautions against these urban higher temperature and dryness, diverse methods are being sought. Among them, as measures to form cold islands, the evaporative cooling effect realistic to social and economic conditions was examined. Method: This study was conducted to analyze effects of temperature reduction and cooling according to injection quantity of minute water particles by using a blast sprayer as one of alternatives of alleviation of urban climate changes in outside space in summer. For this, through temperature difference in accordance with the injection quantity per hour of a day, a time zone representing the value of the highest temperature change was analyzed. Also, by analyzing temperature difference according to the injection quantity per daytime insolation, relation of amounts of insolation and evaporation was investigated. Temperature difference in accordance with distances at the highest temperature with the highest value in temperature changes was analyzed. Result: At the study result, about temperature, as injection quantity increase, temperature reduction was significant statistically at the highest temperature with the most insolation. A factor with the highest influence was judged to be the increase of the injection quantity. According to the injection quantity, it was predicted that $3.1^{\circ}C$ temperature reduction of a daily average in case of 0.16L/min, $3.5^{\circ}C$ temperature reduction of a daily average in case of 0.32L/min, and $4.4^{\circ}C$ temperature reduction of a daily average in case of 0.48L/min.

간접구(間接灸)의 제품별(製品別) 입열기(入熱期) 연소특성(燃燒特性)에 관한 연구(硏究) (The experimental study on the Characteristics of the Moxa-Combustion in the input period of indirect moxibustion)

  • In order to obtain the clinical data on the different effects of the three different methods of indirect moxibustion, moxa-combustion time, peak temperature, average temperature, maximum gradient temperature, average gradient temperature, and moxa-combustion calorie rate of the input period in ARIRANG, JANG, PUNG were measured through this experiment. The results of the experiment were as follows : 1. In the combustion time, during the input period ARIRANG had the longest combustion time followed by PUNG, JANG in a descending order but these were not acknowledged to have significant difference each other. 2. In the peak temperature of the input period, PUNG had the highest temperature followed by ARIRANG, JANG in a descending order. ARIRANG and JANG were acknowledged to have significant difference with PUNG. ARIRANG and JANG however were not acknowledged to have difference each other. 3. In the average temperature, during the input period, PUNG had the highest temperature followed by JANG, ARIRANG in a descending order. ARIRANG and JANG were acknowledged to have significant difference with PUNG. ARIRANG and JANG however were not acknowledged to have difference each other. 4. In the maximum gradient temperature, during the input period, PUNG had the highest temperature followed by ARIRANG, JANG in a descending order. ARIRANG and JANG were acknowledged to have significant difference with PUNG. ARIRANG and JANG however were not acknowledged to have difference each other. 5. In the average gradient temperature, during the input period, PUNG had the highest temperature followed by ARIRANG, JANG in a descending order. ARIRANG and JANG were acknowledged to have significant difference with PUNG. ARIRANG and JANG however were not acknowledged to have difference each other. 6. In the moxa-combustion calorie rate, during the input period, JANG had the highest temperature followed by ARIRANG, PUNG in a descending order. ARIRANG and PUNG were acknowledged to have significant difference with JANG. ARIRANG and PUNG however were not acknowledged to have difference each other.

Mn 및 V 함량이 다른 페라이트-펄라이트 조직강의 강도와 변형능에 미치는 미세조직 인자의 영향 (Effect of Microstructural Factors on the Strength and Deformability of Ferrite-Pearlite Steels with Different Mn and V Contents)

  • This study examines the effect of microstructural factors on the strength and deformability of ferrite-pearlite steels. Six kinds of ferrite-pearlite steel specimens are fabricated with the addition of different amounst of Mn and V and with varying the isothermal transformation temperature. The Mn steel specimen with a highest Mn content has the highest pearlite volume fraction because Mn addition inhibits the formation of ferrite. The V steel specimen with a highest V content has the finest ferrite grain size and lowest pearlite volume fraction because a large amount of ferrite forms in fine austenite grain boundaries that are generated by the pinning effect of many VC precipitates. On the other hand, the room-temperature tensile test results show that the V steel specimen has a longer yield point elongation than other specimens due to the highest ferrite volume fraction. The V specimen has the highest yield strength because of a larger amount of VC precipitates and grain refinement strengthening, while the Mn specimen has the highest tensile strength because the highest pearlite volume fraction largely enhances work hardening. Furthermore, the tensile strength increases with a higher transformation temperature because increasing the precipitate fraction with a higher transformation temperature improves work hardening. The results reveal that an increasing transformation temperature decreases the yield ratio. Meanwhile, the yield ratio decreases with an increasing ferrite grain size because ferrite grain size refinement largely increases the yield strength. However, the uniform elongation shows no significant changes of the microstructural factors.

한복 착용에 따른 피보온의 변화 (Skin Temperature Responses of Hanbok When It Worn)

  • The objective of the study was to investigate skin temperature responses of Hanbok when it was worn. Two healthy females(average 21 years, 155cm and 60kg were exposed to a climatic chamber(Room Temp. $21{\pm}1^{\circ}C,\;52{\pm}2%R.H.$, 0.15m/s). During the experiment, rectal temperature, skin temperature of 9 areas, clothing microclimate, subjective sensation were measured. Chima and Jogory to be made of silk nobang(SN) or Ramie were worn for summer. Polyester(P) Chima and Jogori(R) could be wort for spring and autumn. For winter, silk Chima, Jogori(S) and Durumagi(D) were commonly worn. Rectal temperature was high in order of naked(N), R, SN, P, S, D. However Mean skin temperature was reversely high in order of D, S, SN, R, P, naked. In naked, skin temperature was high in order of head, trunk upper extremity and lower extremity. But on wearing of Hanbok, it was the highest at the chest except head regardless of kinds of clothing ensembles. Skin temperature of upper arm was secondly highest on wearing the silk ensemble and the Durumagi ensemble, but skin temperature of buttock was secondly highest on wearing the silk nobang ensemble and the ramie ensemble. Skin temperature on wearing the silk ensemble was generally higher than those on other clothing ensembles. Local and mean skin temperatures on wearing the silk ensemble and the Durumagj ensemble were generally higher than on other clothing ensembles. Heat resistance of the fabric might have affected on the local skin temperature.

체형별 발한 반응에 관한 연구 (A study of sweating reaction on somato type)

  • To investigate the difference of sweating reaction on somato types. We measured total sweat rate, locl sweat rate, skin temperature, physiological reactions and psyschological reactions at $25{\pm}1^{\circ}C$ and $25{\pm}1^{\circ}C$ under laboratory conditions. Nine healthy adult females were divided into three somato types (slender(3), normal(3) and obese type(3)). The results were as follows; Total sweat rate was highest in obese type, and then comes normal type and slender type in order. Local sweat rate was highest in infrascapular area, and then breast, the back of the hand, upperarm, ant. leg, and ant. thigh in order in all somato types. Mean skin temperature was highest in slender type, and then normal type and obese type in order. Rectal temperature, blood pressure and pulse rate were highest in boese type. Psychological reactions were appeared 'hot' 'humid' 'sweat' as ambient temperature go up. And somato types make little difference in psychological reactions.

체형별 발한 반응에 관한 연구 (A Study of Sweating Reaction by the Somato Types)

  • To investigate the difference of sweating reaction by the somato types, we measured total sweat rate, local sweat rate, skin temperature, physiological reaction and psychological reaction at $25{\pm}1^{\circ}C$ and $29{\pm}1^{\circ}C$ under laboratory conditons. The results were as follows ; Total sweat rate was highest in the obese type, followed by the normal and slender types in order. Local sweat rate was highest in the infrascapular area, and then came breast, the back of the hand, upper ann, anterior leg, and anterior thigh in all somato types. Mean skin temperature was highest in the slender type, and followed the normal and obese types. Rectal temperature, blood pressure and pulse rate were highest in the obese type. Psychological reaction appeared 'hot', 'humid', 'sweaty' as ambient temperature went up. Somato types made little difference in psychological reaction.

  • When the construction in a low temperature, the concrete performance is deteriorated by frost damage at early age. In this study, the form utilizing heating sheet and insulation is measured the performance to prevent frost damage at 10 below zero. It produced five types of the form and to measure the temperature history and compressive strength. At first, form attached heating sheet showed the highest temperature. But the form attached vacuum insulation showed the highest temperature ever since 12hours. In the case of compressive strength, the form attached heating sheet + isopink(polystyrene foam board) showed the highest compressive strength. It was followed by vacuum insulation. As a result, the form utilizing insulation and heating sheet helped to prevent frost damage.

환경온도에 따른 착의 생리반응과 주관적 감각의 연령별 비교 (Physiological Responses and Subjective Sensations by Age through Seasonal Condition)

  • This study was to investigate the human's physiological responses and subjective sensations with wear trial through seasonal condition by age. Climate chamber was set $5^{\circ}C$, RH 45% for winter and $30^{\circ}C$, RH 65% for summer condition. Thirty male subjects were volunteered consisted of 10 people in their 20s, 40s, and 60s. In this study physiological responses such as rectal temperature, skin temperature, clothing microclimate, heart rate and blood pressure were measured. As for age, 60s was the highest in rectal temperature regardless of seasonal condition. In skin temperature, 40s was the highest in winter and 20s was the highest in summer. In clothing microclimate temperature and heart rate, 20s was the highest regardless of seasonal condition. And blood pressure was appeared the highest in 20s regardless of seasonal condition. Subjective sensations such as temperature sensation, wetness sensation and thermal comfort were measured. The subjects revealed that temperature sensation was higher 20s than 60s. Compare of other age group, 60s felt colder in the same environment and clothing. It suggested that temperature susceptibility in 60s became weakened showing no change sensation during the cold exposure. Wetness sensation was higher 20s than 60s. Thermal comfort of 60s was felt more discomfortable than any other age group. This means require the supplement of a suitable clothing in order to adjust to change of environmental conditions.

퀴노아의 품질특성 및 생리활성에 대한 로스팅 온도의 영향 (Effects of Roasting Temperature on Quality Characteristics and Biological Activity of Quinoa)

  • The present study aimed to evaluate the effects of roasting temperature on the quality characteristics and biological activity of quinoa. Quinoa was roasted at 160, 200, and 220℃ for 20 min. The lightness (L*) of quinoa decreased, however, the redness (a*) increased as the roasting temperature increased. The yellowness (b*) was the highest at 160℃ and decreased at 200 and 220℃. The highest contents of total polyphenol, flavonoid, and quercetin were observed at 220℃, the highest roasting temperature. The highest radical scavenging activities of 2,2'-azino-bis (3-ethylbenzothiazoline-6-sulfonic acid) (73.65%) and α,α-diphenyl-β-picrylhydrazyl free radicals (47.82%) were found in roasted quinoa at 220℃. The α-glucosidase activity was inhibited by 62.13% at this temperature. The roasted quinoa at 220℃ also showed a significant cytoprotective effect against oxidative stress in HepG2 cells. These results could be useful in the development of food products using quinoa.

쾌적 환경에서 헤어스타일 유형이 인체 생리 반응에 미치는 영향 (Effects of Hair Style on Human Physiological Response in a Thermal Neutral Environment)

  • Recently, research on variables associated with hair styles are increasing with the spreading of total coordinated intention in the fields of clothing and cosmetology. In the present study, we focused on examining the skin temperature on the scalp(the vertex, temporal, and occiput), humidity on the occiput, skin temperatures (the forehead, back of ear, back of neck, upper back, abdomen, forearm, hand, thigh, calf, and foot), rectal temperature, total body mass loss by hair styles in a thermal neutral environment. Four young females participated as subjects. For a certain period, each subject had the five different hair styles in a random order: (1)Straight short hair(SS), (2)Perm waved short hair(PS), (3) Straight long hair(SL), (4)Perm waved long hair(PL), (5)Ponytail style(PT). Subjects wore briefs, bra, shirts with long sleeves, long legged training pants, and socks. The environmental variables of a climatic chamber were kept constant at $21{\pm}0.5^{\circ}C$ of air temperature and 55${\pm}$5%RH of air humidity. The results indicated the following: The skin temperature and humidity on the scalp did not show any significant differences among five different hair styles, but straight long hair style(SL)was the highest on the vertex, temporal, and occiput. The temporal skin temperature($29.8\sim30.8^{\circ}C$) was the highest, while the vertex skin temperature($28.7\sim30.1^{\circ}C$) was the lowest. Humidity on the occiput was the highest in the perm waved long hair style(PL). The back of ear skin temperature was significantly lower in the ponytail style(PT) than in the other four hair styles(p<.001). In the straight long hair style(SL), the skin temperature on the back of the neck and on the upper back were significantly higher than those of the other four hair styles(p<.01). Mean skin temperature and rectal temperature had no significant differences among hair styles. Total body mass was the highest in the perm waved long hair style(PL)(p<.05). We acquired fundamental data to enable the improvement of the current hair clinic system, wigs, functional hats, and helmets.
