Methods: A cross sectional descriptive study was conducted using a convenience sample of 139 mothers. Data was analyzed using SPSS WIN 23.0. Descriptive statistics and a logistic regression analysis were conducted. Results: The vaccination rate of HPV among children was 43.9%. Mothers showed a higher knowledge of the HPV vaccination than of cervical cancer and of human papilloma virus. In self-efficacy scores, the subscores of self-regulation efficacy were higher than self-confidence and task difficulty preference. The factors influencing the vaccination of daughters included the age of the daughters at the time of the vaccination, the provision of information on the HPV vaccine, knowledge of the HPV vaccination, and self-confidence. Conclusion: In order to increase the HPV vaccination rate, it is necessary to provide accurate scientific knowledge to mothers. A variety of intervention strategies should be developed to enhance the confidence of mothers so that mothers who want to provide the HPV vaccination to their daughters are able to follow through and provide the vaccination.

Methods: The subjects were 235 paramedic students who completed ambulance attendant training. There were 51 questions. The infection control dimension was divided into hand washing, personal protective equipment use, and environmental management, for each sub-dimension, awareness and performance were measured by a 4-point scale. The collected data were analyzed using SPSS statistics ver. 22.0. Results: A total of 95.3%, of the subjects completed an orientation for ambulance attendant training and 71.7% received education on infection. In all three sub-dimensions, hand- washing (p<.001), personal protective equipment use (p<.001), and environmental management (p<.001), awareness scored higher than performance. The awareness of infection control showed a significantly positive correlation (r=.394) with performance. Conclusion: In order to improve performance of infection control, education to improve awareness should be provided, and paramedics with higher performance levels in hand washing, and use of gloves and masks wearing should be assigned as training advisors.

  • This study was a cross-sectional descriptive survey study that confirms the effect on subjects that prefer clinical practice in order to prepare basic data for efficient clinical practice guidance for nursing college students. The study participants were 201 students attending C University, and the data collection period was from October 1 to October 15, 2022. The collected data were analyzed using SPSS 18.0 as descriptive statistics, Pearson correlation, Chi square test, ANOVA test, and Multiple regression test. As a result of the analysis, it was found that clinical decision-making and critical thinking were correlated under the statistical significance level (r=.730, p<0.01). The most favorite clinical practice department was community nursing, and male students preferred community nursing the most (Male=45.6%, χ2=.000), female students were found to prefer similar levels of practical subjects with child nursing , adult nursing, and maternal nursing(χ2=000).Clinical decision-making was found to be higher in students who preferred community nursing at a statistical significance level than those who preferred child nursing (F=4.91, p<0.01). Critical thinking was higher among students who preferred adult nursing than those who preferred other subjects (F=4.65, p<0.01). Through the analysis results, it was found that general characteristics vary, but clinical decision-making ability and critical thinking affect the preference of clinical practice subjects. Therefore, based on the results of this study, the professor of clinical practice suggests the development of a program to foster clinical decision-making and critical thinking to make students interested in clinical practice subjects.

  • Background: This study was planned as comparative and descriptive in order to measure and evaluate the knowledge and attitudes regarding early diagnosis of women with and without a family history of cervical cancer. Materials and Methods: The study sample consisted of the relatives of female patients (N=253) who were admitted to Istanbul University of Medicine. Women with a family history of cervical cancer formed the case group, while those without family history of cervical cancer constituted the control group. Two distinct data collection tools, a questionnaire and the Miller Behavioral Style Scale (MBSS), were used in order to obtain data for evaluation with SPSS for Windows 20.0 statistics package program. Results: It was found that 61.0% of the case group with family history of cervical cancer and 19.0% of the control group without family history of cervical cancer were using early diagnostic methods. Thus the presence of an individual with cervical cancer in the family affected the attitudes towards early diagnosis. It was further found that the level of knowledge on cervical cancer and PAP smear test was higher in the case group, which was more sensitive with regard to being informed about cervical cancer as compared to general society. However, the average MBSS scores were not significantly different compared to the control group. Conclusions: It was noted that, women participating this study knowledgeable, but this did not necessarily transform into better behavior.
