초고압을 이용한 신선초 녹즙의 살균 및 갈색화 효소의 불활성화 (Inactivation of Microorganisms and Browning Enzymes in Angelica keiskei Juice Using High Hydrostatic Pressure)

  • 비열처리공법 중 하나로 새롭게 주목받고 있는 초고압처리를 신선초 녹즙에 적용하여 미생물의 살균정도 및 갈변효소의 불활성화정도를 살펴보았다. 실험에는 $3800\;kg_f/cm^2{\sim}6700\;kg_f/cm^2$ 범위의 압력에서 $3{\sim}17\;min$동안 처리하였으며 반응표면분석법(RSM)을 이용하여 미생물 및 효소 불활성화의 최적조건을 구하고자 하였다. 반응표면분석결과 $5700\;kg_f/cm^2$ (558.6 MPa)에서 7.16 min 처리할 때 3.44 log cycles의 총균수 감소효과를 얻을 수 있을 것으로 예상되었다. 대장균의 경우, 모든 처리 조건에서 완전살균이 가능하였다. Peroxidase나 PPO와 같은 갈색화효소는 초고압처리에 의해서 쉽게 불활성화 되지 않았으며, 미생물이나 효소의 불활성화는 처리시간보다는 압력에 더욱 의존함을 알 수 있었다.

  • Dong-tan Station, shared by high-speed railway and urban express railway, is a very complicated underground station having 6 tracks together with barrier and shafts between them, therefore it seems very hard to investigate the aerodynamic effects including the pressure variation and train gust in the station when a high-speed train runs through it. In this study, the aerodynamic effects on the structures and platform passengers when a high-speed train runs through an underground station have been studied using Computational Fluid Dynamics. STAR-CCM+ has been employed for numerical simulation based on Navier-Stokes equation and 2-equation turbulence model and moving mesh scheme supported by STAR-CCM+ has also been used to represent the relative motion between a train and station. Based on the simulation results, the unsteady flow fields in the underground station induced by the high-speed train have been analyzed and the pressures on the PSDs and pressure variation at the platform have quantitatively assessed.

  • When constructing a high-speed railroad, the reduction of the distance between track centers and the width of track bed will save the construction cost. However the shortening the distance between track centers may cause the stability problems due to higher wind pressure. Therefore the extensive technical review and aerodynamical study should be performed to determine the adequate distance between track centers. In this study, the impact that the increase in wind pressure due to the change of aerodynamic phenomena with the change of the distance between track centers may have on two trains passing by each other was predicted, and the stability of train operation was analyzed in order to review the distance between track centers suitable to Honam HSR trains. And we estimated the aerodynamical effects by the results of the real train experiments by using KTX.

가스 터빈 블레이드의 유동 및 응력 해석에 관한 연구 (Study on Flow and Stress Analysis of Gas Turbine Blade)

  • Turbine blades operate under high temperature and pressure. The influence changes according to its width and angle. Thermal stress and pressure are important factors to analyze the stress distribution. The purpose of this study is to investigate the effects of loads on the gas turbine blade using thermal stress analysis. These analysis results show the gas fluid flow with a high pressure around the surface of blade. Gas temperature is related to the pressure of flow around the blade. The stress concentration around blade is shown and the concentration is due to the difference between suction side and pressure side of combustion gas.

  • The effects of change in injection pressure on spray structure in high temperature and pressure field have been investigated. The analysis of liquid and vapor phases of injected fuel is important for emissions control of diesel engines. Therefore, this work examines the evaporating spray structure using a constant volume vessel. The injection pressure is selected as the experimental parameter, is changed from 72MPa to 112MPa by using a common rail injection system(ECD-U2). The images of liquid and vapor phase in the evaporating free diesel spray are simultaneously taken by exciplex fluorescence method. As a result, it can be confirmed that the distribution of vapor concentration is more uniform in the case of the high injection than in that of the low injection pressure.

초임계압 화력 과열기 구조의 고신뢰도 건전성 평가 방법 (A method on integrity evaluation with high reliability for superheater structure in a supercritical thermal power plant)

  • Integrity evaluations on a platen superheater were conducted as per ASME Section VIII Division 2(hereafter 'ASME VIII(2)') which was originally used for design with implicit consideration of creep effects. A platen superheater subjected to severe loading conditions of high pressure and high temperature at creep regime in a supercritical thermal plant in Korea was chosen for present study. Additional evaluations were conducted as per nuclear-grade high-temperature design rule of RCC-MRx that takes creep effects into account explicitly. Comparisons of the two results from ASME VIII(2) and RCC-MRx were conducted to quantify the conservatism of ASME VIII(2). From present analyses, it was shown that the design evaluation results exceeded allowable limits of RCC-MRx for the plant design conditions although limits of ASME VIII(2) were satisfied regardless of operation time, which means that design as per ASME VIII(2) might be potentially non-conservative in case of operation in creep range. A high-temperature design evaluation program as per RCC-MRx, called 'HITEP_RCC-MRx' has been used and it was shown that pressure boundary components can be designed reliably with the program especially for the loading conditions of long-term creep conditions.

Effects of High Pressure/High Temperature Processing on the Recovery and Characteristics of Porcine Placenta Hydrolysates

  • This study was performed to investigate the effects of high pressure/high temperature (HPHT) treatment on the recovery efficiency and characteristics of porcine placenta hydrolysates. The placenta hydrolysates were characterized by solubility, free amino acid contents, gel electrophoresis, gel permeation chromatography (GPC) and amino acid composition. Placenta was treated at 37.5 MPa of pressure combined with various temperatures (150, 170, and $200^{\circ}C$) or various holding times (0, 30, and 60 min at $170^{\circ}C$). Insoluble raw placenta collagen was partially solubilized (> 60% solubility) by the HPHT treatment. Free amino group content of placenta collagen was increased from 0.1 mM/g collagen to > 0.3 mM/g collagen after HPHT treatment, reflecting partial hydrolysis of collagen. The molecular weight ($M_w$) distribution showed evidence of collagen hydrolysis by shifting of $M_w$ peaks toward low molecular weight when treated temperature or holding time was increased. Alanine (Ala), glycine (Gly), hydroxyproline (Hyp), and proline (Pro) contents increased after the HPHT treatments compared to a decrease in the others. In particular, the increase in Gly was obvious, followed by Hyp and Pro, reflecting that placenta hydrolysates were mainly composed of these amino acids. However, increasing temperature or holding time hardly affected the amino acid compositions. These results indicate that the HPHT treatment is advantageous to hydrolyze collagen derived from animal by-products.

Effects of Deposition Pressure on the Phase Formation and Electrical Properties of BiFeO3 Films Deposited by Sputtering

  • $BiFeO_3$ (BFO) thin films were prepared on $Pt/TiO_2/Si$ substrate by r.f. magnetron sputtering. The effects of deposition pressure on electrical properties were investigated using measurement of dielectric properties, leakage current and polarization. When BFO targets were prepared, Fe atoms were substituted with Mn 0.05% to increase electrical resistivity of films. (Fe+Mn)/Bi ratio of BFO thin films increases with increasing partial pressure of $O_2$ gas. The deposited films showed the only BFO phase at 10 mTorr, the coexistence of BFO and $Bi_2O_3$ phase at 30-50 mTorr, and the only $Bi_2O_3$ phase at 70 mTorr. The crystallinity of BFO films was reduced due to the higher Bi contents and the decrease of surface mobility of atoms at high temperature. The porosity and surface roughness of films increased with the increase of the deposition pressure. The films deposited at high pressure showed low dielectric constant and high leakage current. The dielectric constant of films deposited at various deposition pressures was 84${\sim}$153 at 1 kHz. The leakage current density of the films deposited at 10${\sim}$70 mTorr was about $7{\times}10.6{\sim}1.5{\times}10.2A/cm^2$ at 100 kV/cm. The leakage current was found to be closely related to the morphology and composition of the BFO films. BFO films showed poor P-E hysteresis loops due to high leakage current.

Continuous High Pressure Carbon Dioxide Processing of Mandarin Juice

  • Mandarin juice was processed using a continuous high pressure $CO_2$ system. Response surface methodology was used to investigate the effects of the processing parameters such as temperature, pressure, residence time, and %(w/w) ratio of $CO_2$ to juice on total aerobic count (TAC), pectinesterase (PE) activity, cloud level, $^{\circ}Brix$, pH, and titratable acidity (TA) of the juices. Maximum log reduction (3.47) of TAC was observed at $35^{\circ}C$, 41.1 MPa, 9 min residence time, and 7% $CO_2$. PE was inactivated by 7-51%. The cloud was not only retained but was also enhanced by 38%. Lightness and yellowness increased, and redness decreased. The processing temperature and % $CO_2$/juice ratio significantly affected high pressure $CO_2$ processing of the juice in terms of pasteurization, PE inactivation, cloud increase, and color change. The $^{\circ}Brix$, pH, and TA before and after treatment remained unchanged.

항공기용 가스터빈 엔진의 고압터빈에서 열유동 특성해석을 위한 전산해석기법 연구 (A Study on the Numerical Analysis Methodology for Thermal and Flow Characteristics of High Pressure Turbine in Aircraft Gas Turbine Engine)

  • In this study, a numerical analysis methodology is studied to predict thermal and flow characteristics of C3X vane with internal cooling. Effects of turbulence models, transition models and viscous work term on temperature and pressure distributions on the vane surface are investigated. These optional terms have few effects on the pressure distributions over the vane surface. However, they have great influence on prediction of the temperature distributions on the vane surface. The combination of k-${\omega}$ based SST turbulence model, ${\gamma}$ transition model and viscous work term are better than RSM turbulence model on prediction of the surface temperature. The average temperature difference between CFD results and experimental results is calculated 2 % at the pressure side and 1 % at the suction side. Furthermore computing time of this combination is half of the RSM turbulence model. When k-${\omega}$ based SST turbulence model and ${\gamma}$ transition model with viscous work term are applied, more accurate predictions of thermal and internal flow characteristics of high pressure turbine are expected.
