The Design of A Program Counter Unit for RISC Processors (RISC 프로세서의 프로그램 카운터 부(PCU)의 설계)

  • This paper proposes a program counter unit(PCU) on the pipelined architecture of RISC (Reduced Instruction Set Computer) type high performance processors, PCU is used for supplying instruction addresses to memory units(Instruction Cache) efficiently. A RISC processor's PCU has to compute the instruction address within required intervals continnously. So, using the method of self-generated incrementor, is more efficient than the conventional one's using ALU or private adder. The proposed PCU is designed to have the fast +4(Byte Address) operation incrementor that has no carry propagation delay. Design specifications are taken by analyzing the whole data path operation of target processor's default and exceptional mode instructions. CMOS and wired logic circuit technologic are used in PCU for the fast operation which has small layout area and power dissipation. The schematic capture and logic, timing simulation of proposed PCU are performed on Apollo W/S using Mentor Graphics CAD tooks.

  • 본 논문은 고효율 및 소형 스위치모드 라인 트랜스포머를 제안한다. 종래의 절연을 위한 라인 트랜스포머와 역률개선 회로를 이용한 전원회로는 60Hz 저주파 트랜스포머의 사용으로 전원회로의 크기와 중량이 큰 단점이 있다. 본 논문에서 제안하는 스위치모드 라인 트랜스포머(SMLT)는 고주파수 구동이 가능한 LLC 공진형 컨버터의 트랜스포머로 절연 규격 및 부피저감을 동시에 달성하였다. 또한 2차 측의 풀브리지 정류기를 이용하여 출력전압을 120Hz 사인파로 복원하여, 기존의 역률개선 회로 앞단에 제안 회로를 적용하여 역률개선이 가능하다. 제안방식의 타당성을 검증하기 위해 350W급 시작품에 대한 실험결과를 제시한다.

  • In this paper, electronic ballast with Interleaved Boost Cell is presented. The proposed topology is based on a single-stage ballast which combines a boost converter and a half-bridge series resonant inverter High power factor and low THD(reduction of current ripple) are achieved by using the boost semi-stage operating in discontinuous conduction mode, and inverter semi-stage operated above resonant frequency to provide zero voltage switching is employed to ballast the fluorescent lamp. The experimental results from the ballast system with fluorescent lamps have demonstrated the feasibility of the proposed electronic ballast.

  • The switching-mode power converter has been widely used because of its features of high efficiency and small weight and size. These features are brought by the ON-OFF operation of semiconductor switching devices. However, this switching operation causes the surge and EMI(Electromagnetic Interference) which deteriorate the reliability of the converter themselves and entire electronic systems. This problem on the surge and noise is one of the most serious difficulties in AC-to-DC converter. In the case of carrier frequency selection, output-voltage of steady state and transient state is fully regulated. A RPWM control method was proposed in order to smooth the switching noise spectrum and reduce it's level. Experimental results are verified by converter operating at 300V/1kW with 5%${\sim}$30% white noise input. Spectrum analysis is performed on the Phase current and the CM noise voltage. The former is measured with Current Probe and the latter is achieved with USN. which are connected to the spectrum analyzer respectively.

  • To achieve ZnO layer with a high resistance, a new sputtering method with a Ramp method and cycled power process mode was developed. The specific resistance of the layers was in rang of 3*10$\^$10/Ωcm to 2*10$\^$11/Ωcm. The characteristics of ZnO thin films changed with working pressure and Ramp method were investigated by XRD(x-ray diffractometer), and SEM (scanning electron microscopy) analyses. This paper presents calculated and measured results for structures with thin ZnO layers. Measurements of SAW Properties using thin ZnO layered structures will be shown. Also presented are results on the quality of ZnO films and specifics of the deposition process.

  • This paper presents a current-source-inverter based on a buck-boost configuration and its application for residential photovoltaic system. The proposed circuit has five switches. Among them, only one switch acts as chopping, and the other determine the polarity of output; therefore, it can reduce the switching loss. Because the input inductor current is operated on the discontinuous conduction mode, high power factor can be achieved without additional input current controller. So the overall system shows a simple structure. The operational modes are analysed in depth, and then it was verified through the experimental results using a 150 W prototype.

  • In this research, a 8-bit CMOS 2 stage folding A/D converter is designed, For low power consumption and small chip size, the A/D converter is designed by using folding and interpolation circuit. Folding circuit is composed of the transistor differential pairs which are connected in parallel. It reduces the number of comparator drastically. The analog block composed of folding block, current interpolation circuit, and three stage current comparator is designed with differential-mode for high speed operation. The simulation in a $0.35\;{\mu}m$ CMOS process. shows DNL and SNDR of 0.5LSB and 47 dB at 250 MHz/s sampling frequency.

  • Advantages of switched reluctance motor(SRM) drives make it an attractive candidate for replacing adjustable speed ac and do drives in both industrial and consumer applications. Furthermore, a simple, low cost and robust SRM drive can be efficiently operatied ill the hostile environment of an automobile. In this paper, novel topology for fast response of various load is proposed. Proposed topology adapts anti-windup PI controller at increasing speed referense and activate braking mode at decreasing speed and forward load, Experiental results show that proposed topology have fast response charecteristics at increasing and decreasing speed reference.

  • 본 논문에서는 발생전압이 충전전압보다 높은 경우는 Buck 컨버터로 동작하고 발생전압이 충전전압보다 낮은 경우 Boost 컨버터로 동작하는 모드 자체를 독립적으로 구현할 수 있는 새로운 형태의 DC-DC 컨버터를 제안함으로서 시비율 변화를 줄여 인덕터의 전류 리플을 줄임으로서 효율을 개선하고자 한다.

  • This paper describes a soft switching using discontinuous inductor current. The soft switching snubber circuit provides ZCS and ZVS for main switch. For high power applications, the input ractifier is fed from a three-phase ac source. The Conventional switching method is hard switching technics, because of the device turn off is ocurred in maximum reactor current. In this time, switching losses are maximised by the hard switching. In generally, soft switching technique has been adjusted with the snubber condenser in order to compensates for this losses. So, it was compared hard switching with soft switching which has proposed in this paper for switching losses, distortion factor by the simulation.
