This study aims to find out the characteristics and the type classification of contemporary public libraries in terms of browsing circuit. In so doing, it is to analyze 21 recently built libraries by using the browsing circuit, the spatial depth and the spatial layout. The study makes use of codes derived from the concept of 'Classification' and 'Frame' suggested by a pedagogist, Basil Bernstein. As a result, it shows that two codes are phased in overseas cases. In other words, one type is a lower depth of space and a high rate of rings with the multi-layer circuits and the three-dimensional circuit of multi-centered. the other type is the higher depth of space and a low rate of rings with the single-layer circuit and the multi-layer circuit of single-centered. In domestic cases, 4 types are shown. The characteristics of layout are seen as a radial shape and the rate of rings is lower than the overseas cases. It can be said that these results are a transitional phenomenon. For browsing circuit, domestic public libraries would be adapted to the three-dimensional circuit of multi-centered, a lower depth of space and a high rate of rings. By instructions of this plan, the real meaning of a public library will be come true.

Aeroelastic analysis of an aircraft with a high aspect ratio wing for medium altitude and long endurance capability was attempted in this paper. In order to achieve such an objective, various structural models were adopted. The traditional approach has been based on a one-dimensional Euler-Bernoulli beam model. The structural analysis results of the present beam model were compared with those by the three-dimensional NASTRAN finite element model. In it, a taper ratio of 0.5 was applied; it was comprised of 21 ribs and 3 spars, and included two control surfaces. The relevant unsteady aerodynamic forces were obtained by using ZAERO, which is based on the doublet lattice method that considers flow compressibility. To obtain the unsteady aerodynamic force, the structural mode shapes and natural frequencies were transferred to ZAERO. Two types of unsteady aerodynamic forces were considered. The first was the unsteady aerodynamic forces which were based on the one-dimensional beam shape; the other was based on the three-dimensional FEM model shape. These two types of aerodynamic forces were compared, and applied to the foregoing flutter analysis. The ultimate goal of the present research is to analyze the possible interaction between the rigid-body degrees of freedom and the aeroelastic modes. This will be achieved after the development of a reliable nonlinear beam formulation that would validate the current results as well as enable a thorough investigation of the nonlinearity. Moreover, such analysis will allow for an examination of the above-mentioned interaction between the flight dynamics and aeroelastic modes with the inclusion of the rigid body degrees of freedom.
Intracluster stars are believed to be gravitationally bound to a galaxy cluster, however, not to individual cluster galaxies. Their presence is observed as diffuse light typically in the central region extended from the brightest cluster galaxy. The diffuse light, often referred to as intracluster light (ICL), is difficult to quantify in distant high-redshift galaxy clusters because of the significant surface brightness dimming although ICL observations in high-redshift clusters provide powerful constraints on the origin of intracluster stars. In this poster, we present ICL study of the distant galaxy cluster SPT2106-5844 at z=1.132 with Hubble Space Telescope IR imaging data. With careful control of systematics, we successfully quantify the total amount of the ICL, measure the color profile, and obtain its two-dimensional distribution. Our measurement of the high abundance of the intracluster stars in this young cluster favors the ICL formation scenario, wherein production of intracluster stars are predominantly associated with the BCG formation.
HMD, which is applied with the latest technology, minimizes motion sickness with high-resolution displays and fast motion recognition, and can accurately track location and motion. This can provide an environment where you can immerse yourself in a virtual three-dimensional space, and virtual reality contents such as disaster simulators and high-risk equipment learning spaces are developing using these characteristics. These advantages are also applicable in the field of basic science education. In particular, expanding the concepts of electric and magnetic fields in physics described by existing two-dimensional data into three-dimensional spaces and visualizing them in real time can greatly help improve learning understanding. In this paper, realistic physical education environments and contents based on three-dimensional virtual reality are developed and the developed learning contents are experienced by actual learning subjects to prove their effectiveness. A total of 46 middle school and college students were taught and experienced in real time the electric and magnetic fields expressed in three dimensions in a virtual reality environment. As a result of the survey, more than 85% of positive responses were obtained, and positive results were obtained that three-dimensional virtual space-based physical learning could be effectively applied.

Structures being used in space environment, should be designed to have minimum CTE(coefficient of thermal expansion) for the dimensional stability. Accurate CTE data of the materials are required to design the space structures consisting of various materials. There are uncertainties in the characteristics of materials even though the same manufacturing processes are applied. Therefore, it is needed to measure the thermal deformation of not only the material specimen but also substructures in simulated space environment, such as high vacuum condition. In this research, therefore, precise CTE measurement system using displacement measuring interferometer and vacuum chamber has been designed with uncertainty analysis of the measurements. This system can be used to measure the CTE of the specimen or thermal expansion of the substructure with varying size up to 50cm in length. To measure the low CTE material, overall uncertainty of this system is expected under 0.01ppm/K.
Human activity recognition in real time is a challenging task. Recently, a plethora of studies has been proposed using deep learning architectures. The implementation of these architectures requires the high computing power of the machine and a massive database. However, handcrafted features-based machine learning models need less computing power and very accurate where features are effectively extracted. In this study, we propose a handcrafted model based on three-dimensional sequential skeleton data. The human body skeleton movement over a frame is computed through joint positions in a frame. The joints of these skeletal frames are projected into two-dimensional space, forming a "movement polygon." These polygons are further transformed into a one-dimensional space by computing amplitudes at different angles from the centroid of polygons. The feature vector is formed by the sampling of these amplitudes at different angles. The performance of the algorithm is evaluated using a support vector machine on four public datasets: MSR Action3D, Berkeley MHAD, TST Fall Detection, and NTU-RGB+D, and the highest accuracies achieved on these datasets are 94.13%, 93.34%, 95.7%, and 86.8%, respectively. These accuracies are compared with similar state-of-the-art and show superior performance.

A Bayesian model-based clustering method is proposed for clustering objects on the basis of dissimilarites. This combines two basic ideas. The first is that tile objects have latent positions in a Euclidean space, and that the observed dissimilarities are measurements of the Euclidean distances with error. The second idea is that the latent positions are generated from a mixture of multivariate normal distributions, each one corresponding to a cluster. We estimate the resulting model in a Bayesian way using Markov chain Monte Carlo. The method carries out multidimensional scaling and model-based clustering simultaneously, and yields good object configurations and good clustering results with reasonable measures of clustering uncertainties. In the examples we studied, the clustering results based on low-dimensional configurations were almost as good as those based on high-dimensional ones. Thus tile method can be used as a tool for dimension reduction when clustering high-dimensional objects, which may be useful especially for visual inspection of clusters. We also propose a Bayesian criterion for choosing the dimension of the object configuration and the number of clusters simultaneously. This is easy to compute and works reasonably well in simulations and real examples.

Orthogonal time frequency space (OTFS) modulation is considered as one of the solutions to cope with high mobility channel environments. It converts the time-varying channel to the near-constant channel response in the delay-Doppler domain. This modulation scheme also benefits from the diversity in two-dimensional modulation. According to recent researches, this method outperforms the conventional OFDM modulation, especially in high-speed channel conditions. In this paper, to investigate the performance of OTFS in a practical system, channel estimation in the delay-Doppler domain is compared with the conventional method in the time-frequency domain at different mobile speeds. Simulation results confirm that the delay-Doppler domain channel estimation brings a better performance compared to the conventional one under the same overhead rate.

A structured model with both single-index and varying coefficients is a powerful tool in modeling high dimensional data. It has been widely used because the single-index can overcome the curse of dimensionality and varying coefficients can allow nonlinear interaction effects in the model. For high dimensional index vectors, variable selection becomes an important question in the model building process. In this paper, we propose an efficient estimation and a variable selection method based on a smoothing spline approach in a partially linear single-index-coefficient regression model. We also propose an efficient algorithm for simultaneously estimating the coefficient functions in a data-adaptive lower-dimensional approximation space and selecting significant variables in the index with the adaptive LASSO penalty. The empirical performance of the proposed method is illustrated with simulated and real data examples.

Canonical correlation analysis is a multivariate technique for identifying and quantifying the statistical relationship between two sets of variables. Like most multivariate techniques, the main objective of canonical correlation analysis is to reduce the dimensionality of the dataset. It would be particularly useful if high dimensional data can be represented in a low dimensional space. In this study, we will construct statistical graphs for paired sets of multivariate data. Specifically, plots of the observations as well as the variables are proposed. We discuss the geometric interpretation and goodness-of-fit of the proposed plots. We also provide a numerical example.
