저축력과 반복수평력을 받는 콘크리트충전 강관기둥의 이력특성 (Hysteresis Performance of CFT Columns subjected to Low Axial Force and Cyclic Lateral Loads)

  • 콘크리트충전 강관구조는 합성효과에 의해 강관과 콘크리트의 단점을 상호보완하여 역학적으로 우수한 성능을 발휘할 수 있다. 그래서, 최근에는 고층건물에 구조시스템의 대안으로서 주목을 받고 있다. 본 연구의 목적은 일정축력과 반복 수평력을 받는 콘크리트충전 강관기둥의 내력 및 변형성능을 평가하는 것이다. 이 실험의 변수로는 강관의 폭두께비, 축력비 및 강관의 형상으로 정하여 총 18개의 실험체를 제작하여 실험하였다. 실험결과로부터 실험체의 최대내력 및 변형성능에 대해 검토하였다.

Seismic behavior of Q690 circular HCFTST columns under constant axial loading and reversed cyclic lateral loading

  • This paper presents an investigation on seismic behavior of out-of-code Q690 circular high-strength concrete-filled thin-walled steel tubular (HCFTST) columns made up of high-strength (HS) steel tubes (yield strength $f_y{\geq}690MPa$). Eight Q690 circular HCFTST columns with various diameter-to-thickness (D/t) ratios, concrete cylinder compressive strengths ($f_c$) and axial compression ratios (n) were tested under the constant axial loading and reversed cyclic lateral loading. The obtained lateral load-displacement hysteretic curves, energy dissipation, skeleton curves and ductility, and stiffness degradation were analyzed in detail to reflect the influences of tested parameters. Subsequently, a simplified shear strength model was derived and validated by the test results. Finally, a finite element analysis (FEA) model incorporating a stress triaxiality dependent fracture criterion was established to simulate the seismic behavior. The systematic investigation indicates the following: compared to the D/t ratio and axial compression ratio, improving the concrete compressive strength (e.g., the HS thin-walled steel tube filled with HS concrete) had a slight influence on the ductility but an obvious enhancement of energy dissipation and peak load; the simplified shear strength model based on truss mechanism accurately predicted the shear-resisting capacity; and the established FEA model incorporating steel fracture criterion simulated well the seismic behavior (e.g., hysteretic curve, local buckling and fracture), which can be applied to the seismic analysis and design of Q690 circular HCFTST columns.

  • The fatigue test under the constant amplitude repeated loading is performed to investigate the fatigue behavior of the Torque Shear type high tension bolted joint which is able to manage the axial force uniformly. From the test results, it's known that the reduction of the axial force of T/S bolt followed by the elasped time is similar to that of the high tension bolts. The difference of relaxation is not occurred according to the position of bolts, the size of the introduced axial force but the effect of the variation of temperature is large. In the reduction of the axial force followed by the cumulation of the fatigue load, the outer bolt is larger than the inner bolt. This result depends on the difference in the distribution of the non-slip zone. The variation of the surface roughness affects the slip and the reduction of the anal force.

볼트접합 앵글을 사용한 PSRC 합성기둥의 편심 압축실험 (Eccentric Axial Load Test of Prefabricated Composite Columns Using Bolt-connected Steel Angles)

  • 볼트접합 앵글을 사용한 선조립-SRC 합성기둥(이하 PSRC 합성기둥)의 구조성능을 평가하기 위하여 PSRC 기둥실험체 6개와 일반 SRC 기둥실험체 2개에 대하여 편심축 압축실험을 수행하였다. 횡보강재의 수직간격 및 단면형상과 축하중의 편심율을 실험변수로 고려하였다. 실험결과, 편심율이 큰 경우 PSRC 실험체는 단면 코너에 위치한 고강성 앵글로 인하여 압축하중 재하능력 및 변형능력이 기존 SRC 실험체보다 향상되었다. PSRC 기둥 실험체에서 횡방향 강판의 좁은 횡보강 간격과 Z형 단면의 횡방향 강판은 우수한 횡구속력을 제공하였으며, 하중재 하능력을 향상시켰다. 실험 및 수치해석을 통한 합성기둥의 휨 압축 강도는 현행설계기준에 의한 휨-압축 상관도를 상회하였다. 수치해석결과는 각 실험체의 강성, 최대강도, 최대하중 이후 강도감소거동을 비교적 잘 예측하였다.

  • Experimental studies for the high damping rubber bearing, lead rubber bearing and natural rubber bearing, those are often used to improve the seismic capacity if the structure recently, are conducted to evaluate the seismic capacity of the seismic isolation bearings. The shear stiffness of the bearings decrease and the shear strain amplitude or the constant axial load level increase, but not sensitive to the strain rate effect. Bearings are strong for the axial compression but weak for the axial tension.

공기 포일 스러스트 베어링의 하중지지능력에 관한 연구 (A study of the Load Capacity of Air Foil Thrust Bearings)

  • Air foil thrust bearings are the critical components available on high-efficiency turbomachinery which need an ability to endure the large axial force. Air foil bearings are self-acting hydrodynamic bearings that use ambient air as their lubricant. Since the air is squeezed by the edge of compliance-surface of bearing, hydrodynamic force is generated. In this study, we measured the air film thickness and obtained the minimum film thickness experimentally. To increase the maximum load capacity, compliance of sub-structure was controlled. From numerical analyses, it is seen that, if the air film thickness is distributed more uniformly by variable compliance, the thrust bearings can take more axial load.

  • High strength concrete is a more effective material for columns subject to axial force and moment than for other structural elements. The purpose of this study is to review strength calculation methods for high strength concrete columus by comparison of analytical values and experimental results. The variables of column test under eccentric loading were concrete compressive strength, longitudinal steel ratio, and eccentricity of load. The tied column sections of 120×120mm and 210×210mm were tested and the eccentricity of load varied in the range from 0.16 times to 0.54 times the column depth. The analytical results using the stress-strain relationship to 0.54 times the column depth. The analytical results using the stress-strain relationship as well as the ACI's rectangular block, Zia's modified block, and the trapezoidal block are compared with experimentally obtained data, and discussed in this paper.

Shear behavior of short square tubed steel reinforced concrete columns with high-strength concrete

  • Six shear-critical square tubed steel reinforced concrete (TSRC) columns using the high-strength concrete ($f_{cu,150}=86.6MPa$) were tested under constant axial and lateral cyclic loads. The height-to-depth ratio of the short column specimens was specified as 2.6, and the axial load ratio and the number of shear studs on the steel shape were considered as two main parameters. The shear failure mode of short square TSRC columns was observed from the test. The steel tube with diagonal stiffener plates provided effective confinement to the concrete core, while welding shear studs on the steel section appeared not significantly enhancing the seismic behavior of short square TRSC columns. Specimens with higher axial load ratio showed higher lateral stiffness and shear strength but worse ductility. A modified ACI design method is proposed to calculate the nominal shear strength, which agrees well with the test database containing ten short square TSRC columns with shear failure mode from this study and other related literature.

  • A brake device for the high-speed impacting object is designed using an axial crushing of thin-walled metal cylinder. Thickness of the cylinder is increased smoothly from the impacting end to the fixed end, resulting in the truncated cone shape. Truncated cone shape minimizes the imperfection-sensitivity of the structure and ensures that plastic hinges are formed sequentially from impacting end. This prevents the undesirable sudden rise in the first peak-crushing load. Several specimens with different conic angles, mean thickness of the wall, and materials were designed and quasi-static compression tests were performed on them. Results indicate that adoption of appropriate conic angle prevents simultaneous wrinkles generation and sudden rise of crushing load and that appropriate conic angle differs in each case, depending on the geometry and material property of the cylinder. Finite element analysis was performed for static compression of the cylinder and its accuracy was checked for the future application.

에너지 흡수요소로서의 주름관(bellows)의 최적설계에 관한 연구 (Study on the Optimal Design of Bellows as an Energy Absorbing Element)

  • Bellows are suggested as energy absorbing elements for automotive steering systems. A metallic bellows has nearly constant axial collapse load which is desirable as an energy absorbing element for a steering column. Axial collapsability and bending flexibility of bellows can be utilized to reduce upward tilting and backward displacement of steering columns in the early stage of high speed crash. Since bending flexibility of bellows has negative effects on the vibration characteristics of steering columns it is necessary to maximize the first natural frequency of a bellows while maintaining its plastic bending flexibility and axial collapse load. An effort is made to attain optimum design of bellows based upon the Taguchi method. A general guideline for design of bellows is suggested.
