Alloy 600 having a superior resistance to a corrosion is used as a steam generator tubing in nuclear power plants. In spite of its high corrosion resistance, there are many tubings which experience corrosion problems such as a SCC under the high temperature and high pressure environments of nuclear power plants. The Alloy 600 tubing can be repaired by using a Ni electroplating having an excellent SCC resistance. In order to carry out a successful Ni electrodeposition inside a steam generator tubing, the effects of various parameters on the material properties of the electrodeposit should be elucidated. Hence this work deals with the effects of an applied current density, duty cycle($T_{on}/(T_{on}+T_{off})$) of a pulse current, bath temperature and solution pH on the material properties of Ni electrodeposit obtained from a Ni sulphamate bath by analyzing the current efficiency, potentiodynamic curve, hardness and stress-strain curve. Hardness, YS(yield strength) and TS(tensile strength) decreased whereas the elongation increased as the applied current density increased. This was thought to be by a concentration depletion at the interface of the electrodeposit/solution, and a fractional decrease of the hydrogen reduction reaction. As the duty cycle increased, the hardness, YS and TS decreased while the elongation increased. During an off time at a high duty cycle, the concentration depletion could not be recovered sufficiently enough to induce a coarse grain sized electrodeposit. With an increase of the solution temperature and pH, the YS and TS increased while the elongation decreased. The experimental results of the hardness and the stress-strain curves can be supplemented by the results of the potentiodynamic curve.

Background: Epilobium hirsutum L. is designated as an endangered plant in South Korea located in Asia, due to the destruction of its habitats through the development of wetlands. Therefore, in this study, in order to find a light condition suitable for the growth and ecophysiological responses of Epilobium hirsutum L., those of this plant under treatment with various light qualities in a smart farm were measured. Results: In order to examine the changes in the physiological and growth responses of Epilobium hirsutum L. according to the light qualities, the treatment with light qualities of the smart farm was carried out using the red light: blue light irradiation time ratios of 1:1, 1:1/2, and 1:1/5 and a red light: blue light: white light irradiation time ratio of 1:1:1. As a result, the ecophysiological responses (difference between leaf temperature and atmospheric temperature, transpiration rate, net photosynthetic rate, intercellular CO2 partial pressure, photosynthetic quantum efficiency) to light qualities appeared differently according to the treatments with light qualities. The increase in the blue light ratio increased the difference between the leaf temperature and the atmospheric temperature and the photosynthetic quantum efficiency and decreased the transpiration rate and the intercellular CO2 partial pressure. On the other hand, the white light treatment increased the transpiration rate and intercellular CO2 partial pressure and decreased the temperature difference between the leaf temperature and the ambient temperature and photosynthetic quantum efficiency. Conclusions: The light condition suitable for the propagation by the stolons, which are the propagules of Epilobium hirsutum L., in the smart farm, is red, blue and white mixed light with high net photosynthetic rates and low difference between leaf temperature and atmospheric temperature.
The objective of this study was to investigate the effect of high pressure treatment and type of binding agents on the quality characteristics of restructured pork. For binding agents, 2% (w/w) isolated soy protein (SP), 0.5% (w/w) wheat flour (WF) and 0.5% (w/w) ${\kappa}$-carrageenan (KC) were incorporated into meat batter with or without 0.5% (w/w) glucono-${\delta}$-lactone (GdL). The restructured pork was pressurized at varying pressure levels (0.1-450 MPa) for 3 min under ambient temperature and thermal treated at $75^{\circ}C$ for 30 min. As quality parameters of restructured pork, pH, water binding properties, instrumental color and texture profile analysis were determined and compared with control (C, no binder). For type of binders, SP exhibited the best water binding properties, however, the impact on textural properties were lesser than KC and WF. The addition of GdL decreased the pH of restructured pork down to 0.4 unit, while high pressure processing prevented the moisture loss caused from pH decrease by GdL. In particular, meat restructuring efficiency of SP as a binder improved under the presence of GdL. Therefore, the present study demonstrated the potential advantages of low amount of GdL (0.5%, w/w) combined with protein based binder (SP) and high pressure processing in restructuring meat particles.

(Bi,La)$Ti_3O_{12}$(BLT) thin film is one of the most attractive materials for ferroelectric random access memory (FRAM) applications due to its some excellent properties such as high fatigue endurance, low processing temperature, and large remanent polarization [1-2]. The authors firstly investigated and reported the damascene process of chemical mechanical polishing (CMP) for BLT thin film capacitor on behalf of plasma etching process for fabrication of FRAM [3]. CMP process could prepare the BLT capacitors with the superior process efficiency to the plasma etching process without the well-known problems such as plasma damages and sloped sidewall, which was enough to apply to the fabrication of FRAM [2]. BLT-CMP characteristics showed the typical oxide-CMP characteristics which were related in both pressure and velocity according to Preston's equation and Hernandez's power law [2-4]. Good surface roughness was also obtained for the densification of multilevel memory structure by CMP process [3]. The well prepared BLT capacitors fabricated by CMP process should have the sufficient ferroelectric properties for FRAM; therefore, in this study the electrical properties of the BLT capacitor fabricated by CMP process were analyzed with the process parameters. Especially, the effects of CMP pressure, which had mainly affected the removal rate of BLT thin films [2], on the electrical properties were investigated. In order to check the influences of the pressure in eMP process on the ferroelectric properties of BLT thin films, the electrical test of the BLT capacitors was performed. The polarization-voltage (P-V) characteristics show a decreased the remanent polarization (Pr) value when CMP process was performed with the high pressure. The shape of the hysteresis loop is close to typical loop of BLT thin films in case of the specimen after CMP process with the pressures of 4.9 kPa; however, the shape of the hysteresis loop is not saturated due to high leakage current caused by structural and/or chemical damages in case of the specimen after CMP process with the pressures of 29.4 kPa. The leakage current density obtained with positive bias is one order lower than that with negative bias in case of 29.4 kPa, which was one or two order higher than in case of 4.9 kPa. The high pressure condition was not suitable for the damascene process of BLT thin films due to the defects in electrical properties although the better efficiency of process. by higher removal rate of BLT thin films was obtained with the high pressure of 29.4 kPa in the previous study [2].
High strength concrete (HSC) has been mainly used in large SOC structures. HSC have superior property as well as improvement in durability compared with normal strength concrete. In spite of durability of HSC, explosive spalling in concrete front surface near the source of fire occurs serious problem in structural safety. Therefore, this study is concerned with experimentally investigation of fire resistance at high temperature due to fireproof material covering thickness in addition to concrete cover. From the test result, it was appeared that the use of fireproof material results in good performance for fire resistance and spalling prevention, and the optimal fireproof covering thickness is 1~3mm. On the other hand, the temperature was rapidly increased by explosive spalling within 30 minutes and showed very little rise caused by evaporation heat after then. It was also found that the void channel was remained at high temperature as PP fiber melts at about $200^{\circ}C$, and the pore pressure in concrete was decreased.

Thin films of polycrystalline silicon (poly-Si) is a promising material for use in large-area electronic devices. Especially, the poly-Si can be used in high resolution and integrated active-matrix liquid-crystal displays (AMLCDs) and active matrix organic light-emitting diodes (AMOLEDs) because of its high mobility compared to hydrogenated _amorphous silicon (a-Si:H). A number of techniques have been proposed during the past several years to achieve poly-Si on large-area glass substrate. However, the conventional method for fabrication of poly-Si could not apply for glass instead of wafer or quartz substrate. Because the conventional method, low pressure chemical vapor deposition (LPCVD) has a high deposition temperature ($600^{\circ}C-1000^{\circ}C$) and solid phase crystallization (SPC) has a high annealing temperature ($600^{\circ}C-700^{\circ}C$). And also these are required time-consuming processes, which are too long to prevent the thermal damage of corning glass such as bending and fracture. The deposition of silicon thin films on low-cost foreign substrates has recently become a major objective in the search for processes having energy consumption and reaching a better cost evaluation. Hence, combining inexpensive deposition techniques with the growth of crystalline silicon seems to be a straightforward way of ensuring reduced production costs of large-area electronic devices. We have deposited crystalline poly-Si thin films on soda -lime glass and SiOz glass substrate as deposited by PVD at low substrate temperature using high power, magnetron sputtering method. The epitaxial orientation, microstructual characteristics and surface properties of the films were analyzed by TEM, XRD, and AFM. For the electrical characterization of these films, its properties were obtained from the Hall effect measurement by the Van der Pauw measurement.

The suitable pressure regulator modeling at each opening ratio and pressure ratio is very important to obtain reliable results, especially in small scale pipeline network analysis such as a pressure regulator system. And it is needed to confirm both whether temperature recovery is achieved after passing by the pressure regulator's narrow neck and how much amount of low temperature area that can cause condensate accumulation is distributed by various PCV models and driving conditions. In this research, the numerical model resembling P company pressure regulator that is used widely for high pressure range in commercial, is adopted as the base model of CFD analysis to investigate pressure regulator's flow characteristics at each pressure ratio and opening ratio. And it is also introduced to examine pressure regulator's critical flow characteristics and possibility of condensation or freezing at each pressure ratio and opening ratio. Additionally, the comparison between the results of CFD analysis and the results of analytic solution obtained by compressible fluid-dynamics theory is attempted to validate the results of CFD modeling in this study and to estimate the accuracy of theoretical approach at each pressure ratio and opening ratio too.
We have studied quality changes of fully ripe fruit of Korean native pumpkin 'Yangsan' regarding the following parameters: pH, sugar content, weight, water content, contents of crude protein and amino acids during 60 days storage at room temperature. As the results, there was no changes in sugar contents according to the storage period, but pH was changing to a little acidic direction with slight decrease in weight and water content. Contents of total crude proteins and comprising amino acids were increased during the storage period. The main contents of amino acids of the Korean native pumpkin, Yangsan, were glutamic acid (15.5%), aspartic acid (10.1%), lysine (8.7%), valine (7.5%), leucine (7.1%) and alanine (6.6%), which were not highly influenced during storage period. Additionally we have investigated the content of free amino acids and color changes during processing of Yangsan under high temperature at $121^{\circ}C$ and high pressure at $1\;kg/cm^2$. In fully ripe fruits, a total of 29 kinds of free amino acids were detected including 8 kinds of essential amino acids (histidine, isoleucine, leucine, lysine, phenylalanine, methionine, threonine and valine). More than 35% of total free amino acids were aspartic acid (20.3%) and asparagine (15.4%); ornithine, citrullin, and arginine, which are related to Ornithine cycle, were also detected in fully ripe fruits. But when treated with high temperature and high pressure, glutamic acid and arginine were decreased rapidly whereas ammnonium chloride was relatively increased. Moreover "b" value as yellow color indicator was decreased from 17.45 to 9.14 while treated for 60 minutes with high temperature and pressure, caused by the degradation of ${\beta}-carotene$ and other yellowish pigments in Yangsan.
Plant polyphenols have attracted attention recently because of their abundance in the human diet, high antioxidant effects, and ability to prevent various diseases associated with oxidative stress, such as cancer and cardiovascular and neurodegenerative diseases. Therefore, this study demonstrated the extraction of bioactive phenolic compounds from Allium hoorkei root (AHR) using subcritical water extraction (scWE) under various temperatures (120 ~ 160 ℃) and times (30 ~ 180 min) at a fixed pressure (10 MPa) and AHR to water ratio (1:20, w/w). Furthermore, this study used severity factors, the combined effect of the temperature and time, in order to optimize the conditions for achieving a high yield and efficient recovery of target bioactive phenolic compounds while minimizing the degradation of the extracted products and maintaining a high selectivity. Subcritical water extraction at 160 ℃ for 30 min (severity of 3.24) produced a relatively high yield (88%) and high number of bioactive compounds including total phenolic contents (31.3 mg GAE/g dry AHR) and rare sugars (D-picose, D-talose, and D-tagatose) compared to Soxhlet extracts obtained from extraction for 8 h with water and 75% ethanol. As a result, the extracts obtained from the green scWE process may have high potential applications in medicines and functional foods because of their high bioactivity and safety.
This work is to investigate the combustion characteristics and flame propagation of the LPG (liquified petroleum gas) and gasoline fuel. In order to characterize the combustion processes of the fuels, the flame propagation and combustion characteristics were investigated by using a constant volume combustion chamber The flame propagation of both LPG and gasoline fuels was investigated by the laser deflection method and the high-speed Schlieren photography. The result of laser deflection method show that the error of measured flame propagation speed by laser method is less than 5% compared with the result of high-speed camera. The flame propagation speed of the fuel is increased with the decrease of initial pressure and the increase of initial temperature in the constant volume chamber. The results also show that the equivalence ratio has a grate effect on the flame speed, combustion pressure and the combustion duration of the fuel-air mixture.
