In this paper, mechanical properties of the high strength lightweight self-compacting concrete with simple mixed design method was investigated. Experimental tests were performed as such compressive strength, splitting tensile strength, modulus of elasticity and density of high strength lightweight self-compacting concrete. The 28 days compressive strength of high strength lightweight self-compacting concrete with the LC replacement ratio of $100\%$ reduces about $31\%$ but LF replacement ratio of $100\%$ increase about $20\%$ compared that of the control concrete. The structural efficiency of high strength lightweight self-compacting concrete increase with proportional to the replacement into of LF. The relationship between the splitting tensile strength and 28 days compressive strength can be represented by the equation $f_s=0.076f_{ck}+0.5582$. The modulus of elasticity was found to be lower than that of normal weight concrete, ranging form 24 to 33 GPa.

This research carries out experiments for hydration exothermic rate and adiabatic temperature rise of concrete to examine the characteristics of the hydration heat of high flowing self-compacting concrete with a normal strength. As a result of the hydration exothermic rate experiment, the high flowing self-compacting concrete that used Lime stone powder and fly ash as polymers shows that its hydration heat amount reduces due to the reduction of unit cement. The result measured the adiabatic temperature rise of concrete presents that high flowing self-compacting concrete having lots of binder contents has a good performance in temperature reduction due to the effect of polymer and that triple adding high flowing self-compacting concrete has a similar temperature rise speed with conventional concrete. As a result of the research, high flowing self-compacting concrete shows a better temperature reduction performance for the binder content per unit than conventional concrete. In addition, it is judged that triple adding high flowing self-compacting concrete with a specified concrete strength 30 MPa is more beneficial in temperature reduction and early hydration heat than double adding high flowing self-compacting concrete.

We carried out the feasibility study of super early self compacting concrete having the characteristics of 1 day demoulding without steam curing, high flowable concrete with self compacting, high strength and high durability etc. Here, We test and selected by several methods using high early cement with and without admixtures for the condition of super early strength self compacting concrete's manufacture (SSCC). we sucessed to meet at the goal of SSCC with 20-35N/mm$^2$ at 1 day, without steam curing and with slump flow about 60-65cm. We continue to search the effectual conditions of SSCC's manufacture by changing mix designs, several of admixture (superplasticizer, stabilising agent), slag, fly ash, high early cement and apply the products for practical use.

This study describes the optimum mix proportion of the high strength and self-compacting concrete placed in main structures of LNG above tank. This concrete requires high strength level about $60{\sim}80MPa$, low hydration heat, balance between workability and consistency without vibrating in the actual work. For this purpose, low heat portland cement and fly ash are selected and design factors including water-binder ratio, replacement ratio of fly ash are tested. As experimental results, low heat portland cement shows lower the confined water ratio than another cement type and the optimum replacement ratio of fly ash in order to improve properties of the binder-paste shows 10% by cement weight considering test results of the confined water ratio$({\beta}p)$. Also, flowability of the high strength and self-compacting concrete by using fly ash about $10{\sim}20%$ is improved. The replacement ratio of fly ash 10% and water-binder ratio $25{\sim}27%$ are suitable to the design strength 80MPa and cost, In case of the design strength 60MPa, the replacement ratio of fly ash and water-binder ratio show 20% and $25{\sim}30%$ separately. Based on the results of this study, the optimum mix proportions of the high strength and self-compacting concrete will be applied to the construction of LNG above tank as a new type.

Lightweight concrete is known for its advantage of reducing the self-weight of the structures, reducing the areas of sectional members as well as making the construction convenient. Thus the construction cost can be saved when applied to structures such as long-span bridge and high rise buildings. However, the lightweight concrete requires specific mix design method that is quite different from the typical concrete, since using the typical mix method would give rise the material segregation as well as lower the strength by the reduced weight of the aggregate. In order to avoid such problems, it is recommended to apply the mix design method of self-compacting concrete for the lightweight concrete. Experimental tests were performed as such compressive strength, dry shrinkage and carbonation of high strength lightweight self-compacting concrete.

Self-consolidating concrete (SCC) is a stable and cohesive high consistency concrete mix with enhanced filling ability properties that reduce the need for mechanical compaction. Limited standards and specifications have been reported in the literature on the structural behavior of reinforced self-compacting concrete elements. The significance of the research presented in this paper stems from the need to investigate the effect of enhanced fluidity of SCC on the structural behavior of high strength self-consolidating reinforced concrete beams. To meet the objectives of this research, twelve reinforced concrete beams were prepared with two different generations of superplasticizers and designed to exhibit flexure, shear, or bond splitting failure. The compared beams were identical except for the type of superplasticizer being used (second generation sulphonated-based superplasticizer or third generation polycarboxylate-based superplasticizer). The outcomes of the experimental work revealed comparable resistance of beam specimens made with self-compacting (SCC) and conventional vibrated concrete (VC). The dissimilarities in the experimental values between the SCC and the control VC beams were not major, leading to the conclusion that the high flowability of SCC has little effect on the flexural, shear and bond strengths of concrete members.
This study is to performed to find the optimum mix proportion of the high strength and self compacting concrete for the above-ground LNG storage tank construction and field application. If LNG storage tank wall thicknesscan be reduced, the construction cost and quality can be improved by using self-compacting high strength concrete with compressive strength 60~80 MPa. For this purpose, low heat cement (Type IV) and class F fly ash are used in concrete mix to control hydration heat, flowability, and viscosity. Mix design variables of unit water, fly ash replacement ratio, water-binder ratio, and fine aggregate ratio are selected and tested for material properties and manufacturing cost of the concrete. Also, fly ash replacement ratio is considered using confined water ratio test. The test results showed that the optimum mix proportion of the self-compacting high strength concrete characteristics are as follows. 1) In case of the concrete with specified compressive strength of 60 MPa, the optimum mix proportion is fly ash replacement ratio of 20% and water- binder ratio of 27~30%. 2) In case of the concrete with the strength of 80 MPa, the optimum mix proportion is fly ash replacement ratio of 10% and water-binder ratio 25%. But unit water and fine aggregate ratio are 165 $kg/m^3$ and $51{\pm}2%$, respectively, regardless of the traget concrete compressive strength range. Also, test results showed that concrete manufacturing cost of 60 MPa and 80 MPa concrete require additional costs of 14~22% and 33%, respectively, compared to the manufacturing cost of 40 MPa concrete. Therefore, application of the self-compacting high strength concrete has proven to be economical in the perspective of the material cost, quality control, and site management.

Experimental tests on the high strength self-compacting concrete with light-weight fine aggregate and light-weight coarse aggregate(LHSSC) were performed with slump-flow, reaching time to the slump-flow of 500mm, V-funnel dropping time and U-box difference level and compressive strength. LHSCC with light-weight fine aggregate of 75% and light-weight coarse aggregate of 100% was only satisfied with the property conditions of second self-compacting concrete(SCC), like as flowability, resistance to segregation and filling ability. The 28-day compressive strength of LHSCC indicated above 300kgf/$\textrm{cm}^2$ in all concrete mixtures, and it was increased to increase the replacement ratio of light-weight fine aggregate or to decrease the replacement ratio of light-weight coarse aggregate. Therefore, for satisfying the properties of fresh SCC and hardened concrete with above 350kgf/$\textrm{cm}^2$, it would expected that the replacement ratio of light-weight fine aggregate and light-weight coarse aggregate will be determined with 50~75% and 25~50%, respectively.
The rheological behaviour of high strength self compacting concrete (HS-SCC) studied through an experimental investigation is presented in this paper. The effect of variation in supplementary cementitious materials (SCM) $vis-{\grave{a}}-vis$ four different types of processed crushed sand as fine aggregates is studied. Apart from the ordinary Portland cement (OPC), the SCMs such as fly ash (FA), ground granulated blast furnace slag (GGBS) ultrafine slag (UFS) and micro-silica (MS) are used in different percentages keeping the mix -paste volume and flow of concrete, constant. The combinations of rheology, strength and durability are equally important for selection of mixes in respect of high-rise building constructions. These combinations are referred to as the rheo-strength and rheo-durability which is scientifically linked to performance based rating. The findings show that the fineness of the sands and types of SCM affects the rheo-strength and rheo-durability performance of HS-SCC. The high amount of fines often seen in fine aggregates contributes to the higher yield stress. Further, the mixes with processed sand is found to offer better rheology as compared to that of mixes made using unwashed crushed sand, washed plaster sand, washed fine natural sand. The micro silica and ultra-fine slag conjunction with washed crushed sand can be a good solution for high rise construction in terms of rheo-strength and rheo-durability performance.
