  • According to the trend for electric power equipment of high capacity and reduction of its size, the needs for the new high performance electric equipments become more and more important. On of the possible solution is high temperature superconducting (HTS) power application. Following the successful development of practical HTS wires, there have been renewed activities in developing superconducting power equipment. HTS equipments have to be operated in a coolant such as liquid nitrogen ($LN_2$) or cooled by conduction-cooling method such as using Gifford-McMahon (G-M) cryocooler to maintain the temperature below critical level. In this paper, the dielectric strength of unfilled epoxy and filled epoxy in $LN_2$ was analyzed. The filled epoxy composite not only compensates for this fragile property but enhances its dielectric strength.

  • The die development of the high-strength steel sheet is very different with that of the common steel sheet. Especially, the springback problem of the high-strength steel is serious in the stamping process. This paper showed the optimized die development of the high-strength steel sheet which was based on the experimental measured and simulated springback auto panel stamping process.

  • A major source of difficulty in die design for high strength steel is the high level of elastic recovery during unloading. The degree of elastic recovery is affected by factors such as material strength, bending angle, punch's corner radius and sheet thickness. Finite Element Method was used in the present work to quantitatively analyze the elastic recovery for various combinations of these parameters. In some cases elastic recovery happened in reverse direction. This phenomenon, which we call spring-go, was explained via changes in stress distribution in the panel occurring in the forming process.

  • Hot-dip galvannealed sheet (GA) with high strength of 590MPa grade in tensile strength, has developed for automotive applications. However, for a successful application, the microstructure and galvannealing behavior of galvannealed TRIP steel sheets must be strictly controlled. High silicon contents steel has problems with weld-ability, zinc coating and reduction of retained austenite volume fraction after galvannealing process. The main purpose of this study is to solve the problem as indicated above.

  • This study describes the cold stamping process design procedure to secure the formability and dimensional accuracy of the automotive structural component fabricated by 1.5GPa grade ultra-high strength steel sheet. The target product is selected as the front side rear lower member which is the most important energy absorption part in the frontal impact condition. To secure the product quality, an intermediate product shape is added while considering the low elongation and high strength characteristics of 1470Mart. The sequential optimization procedure of the intermediate product shape, the fine dimensional quality is then achieved without any crack or wrinkling. The cold stamping method with ultra-high strength steel sheets is validated by conducting the die tryout of the front side rear lower member.

  • The efficiency of complex slurry preparation route for developing the high performance SiC matrix of RS-SiCf/SiC composites has been investigated. The green bodies for RS-SiC materials prior to the infiltration of nw/ten silicon were prepared with various C/SiC complex matrix slurries, which associated with both different sizes of starting SiC particles and blending ratios of starting SiC and carbon particles. The characterization of RS-SiC materials was examined by means of SEM, TEM, EDS and three point bending test. Based on the mechanical property-microstructure correlation, process optimization methodology is also discussed. The flexural strength of RS-SiC materials greatly depended on the content of residual Si. The decrease of starting SiC particle size in the C/SiC complex slurry was effective for improving the flexural strength of RS-SiC materials.

  • Effects of alloying elements such as Si, Mn, Zn on the fluidity and mechanical properties of high ductility Al-Mg based alloys were investigated. The fluidity of alloys was evaluated using a vacuum suction fluidity test, and Si addition was observed to increase the fluidity of AI-Mg binary alloys substantially while Zn somewhat decreased the fluidity. However, both the strength and ductility were significantly deteriorated by the Si additions. It was observed that a small amount of Mn addition to Al-Mg alloy increased the tensile strength effectively without losing much ductility but the effect of Zn addition on the strength was relatively small.

  • The effects of annealing temperature and time on mechanical properties and microstructures were already investigated in cold drawn pearlitic steel wires. During annealing, the increment of the tensile strength at low temperatures found to be due to age hardening, while the decrease in the tensile strength at high temperatures was attributed to age softening, involving the spheroidization of lamellar cementite and recovery of lamellar ferrite. Since Between increase of tensile strength and the occurrence of the delamination would be closely related to the dissolution of cementite, the increase of drawing strain by lower annealing temperature caused the between higher tensile strength and the easier occurrence of the delamination in cold drawn pearlitic steel wires.

  • The aim of this paper is to present a new sustainable ternary and quaternary binder by partially replacing ordinary Portland cement (OPC) with different percentages of supplementary cementitious materials. The motivation is to reduce our dependency on OPC to reduce CO2 emission and carbon foot print. As the main substitute for the OPC, siliceous fly ash was used. Moreover, silica fume and nanosilica were also used. During examinations the main mechanical parameters of concrete composites, i.e., compressive strength (fcm) and splitting tensile strength (fctm) were assed. The microstructure of these materials was also analysed. It was found that the concrete incorporating pozzolanic materials is characterized by a well-developed structure and has high values of mechanical parameters. The quaternary concrete containing: 80% OPC, 5% FA, 10% SF, and 5% nS have shown the best results in terms of good strength parameters as well as the most favourable microstructure, whereas the worst mechanical parameters with microstructure containing microcracks at phase interfaces were characterized by concrete with more content of FA additive in the concrete mix, i.e., 15%. Nevertheless, all concretes made on quaternary binders had better parameters than the reference one. It can be stated that sustainable concrete incorporating pozzolanic materials could be good substitute of ordinary concretes.

  • The material such as steel or concrete has used to civil structures such as drainage pipes , but many problems such as corrosion in using steel and concrete pipes have happened. So, Necessity of developing new materials with high strength and anti-corrosion has been topic recently. One of this topics is study about ERP pipe. The strength of orthotropic FRP tends to be higher than it of isotropic FRP, the buckling problems can be significant in materials with high strength. thus, the study about bucking of orthotropic FRP-pipe is needed. In this study, buckling analysis of laminated cylindrical composite structures subjected In ply angle change under external uniform pressure was performed.
