  • 본 논문은 LSI의 물리적 레이아웃 설계시 다량의 패턴 데이타를 고속으로 처리할 수 있는 새로운 2차원 병렬처리 방법을 제안한고 메모리와 프로세서간에 데이타를 양방향으로 고속 전송 하는 스위칭 네트워크를 설계하였다.이스위칭 네트워크를 VHDL 설계 시스템을 이용하여 시뮬레이션하여 그 동작을 확인하였다.

  • This paper introduces an electric gear to run a high speed spindle motor. Compared with inverter driving, electric gear can be used to reduce switching loss caused by using high switching frequency and improve heating problem on reactor with sinusoidal current wave form. In this paper advantages and disadvantages of electric gear are presented in comparison with those of inverter driving and mechanical gear, and its usefulness is verified by means of experimental approach.

  • Silicon Carbide (SiC) is a material with a wide bandgap (3.26eV), a high critical electric field (~2.3MV/cm), a and a high bulk electron mobility ($\sim900cm^2/Vs$). These electronic properties allow high breakdown voltage, high-speed switching capability, and high temperature operation compared to Si devices. Although various SiC DMOSFET structures have been reported so far for optimizing performances, the effect of channel dimension on the switching performance of SiC DMOSFETs has not been extensively examined. This paper studies different channel dimensons ($L_{CH}$ : $0.5{\mu}m$, $1\;{\mu}m$, $1.5\;{\mu}m$) and their effect on the the device transient characteristics. The key design parameters for SiC DMOSFETs have been optimized and a physics-based two-dimensional (2-D) mixed device and circuit simulator by Silvaco Inc. has been used to understand the relationship. with the switching characteristics. To investigate transient characteristic of the device, mixed-mode simulation has been performed, where the solution of the basic transport equations for the 2-D device structures is directly embedded into the solution procedure for the circuit equations. We observe an increase in the turn-on and turn-off time with increasing the channel length. The switching time in 4H-SiC DMOSFETs have been found to be seriously affected by the various intrinsic parasitic components, such as gate-source capacitance and channel resistance. The intrinsic parasitic components relate to the delay time required for the carrier transit from source to drain. Therefore, improvement of switching speed in 4H-SiC DMOSFETs is essential to reduce the gate-source capacitance and channel resistance.

  • 기존의 ISDN 교환기에서 패킷 통신을 위하여 사용되는 X.25교환 방식은 호의 설정 (call set-up) 과정에서 제어 정보의 교환 및 처리가 필요해서 전송지연이 누적되는 단점이 있으며, 또한 64 Kbps 이상의 고속 패킷 통신의 수용은 불가능하다. 본 논문에 서는 기존의 TDX-10 ISDN 교환기의 상기와 같은 문제점을 해결하기 위하여 프레임 릴레이 교환 방식을 기존의교환기에 적용하는 방식을 제안하였으며이에 필요한 프레임릴레이 교환 장치 (ASS_F)의 설계에 관하여 논하였다. 제안된 프레임 릴레이 교환장치(ASS-F)를 수용하는 프레임 릴레이 교환 구조에서는 기존의 64 Kbps 패킷 통신을 효율적으로 수행할 뿐만 아니라, 고속의 패킷 통신을 가능하게 하여준다. 본 논문에서는 제안된 시스템의 성능 특성을 비교하기 위하여 시뮬레이션을 수행하였으며, 교환시스템은 전송 대역폭을 효율적으로 이용하여 방대한 트래픽을 처리 할 수 있으며, 고속의 패킷 통신을 가능하게 하여 주기 때문에 광대역 ISDN으로의 진화 과정중의 중간 단계로 사용될 수 있다.

Digitally Current Controlled DC-DC Switching Converters Using an Adjacent Cycle Sampling Strategy

  • A novel digital current control strategy for digitally controlled DC-DC switching converters, referred to as Adjacent Cycle Sampling (ACS), is proposed in this paper. For the ACS current control strategy, the available time interval from sampling the current to updating the duty ratio, is approximately one switching cycle. In addition, it is independent of the duty ratio. As a result, the contradiction between the processing speed of the hardware and the transient response speed can be effectively relaxed by using the ACS current control strategy. For digitally controlled buck DC-DC switching converters with trailing-edge modulation, digital current control algorithms with the ACS control strategy are derived for three different control objectives. These objectives are the valley, average, and peak inductor currents. In addition, the sub-harmonic oscillations of the above current control algorithms are analyzed and eliminated by using the digital slope compensation (DSC) method. Experimental results based on a FPGA are given, which verify the theoretical analysis results very well. It can be concluded that the ACS control has a faster transient response speed than the time delay control, and that its requirements for hardware processing speed can be reduced when compared with the deadbeat control. Therefore, it promises to be one of the key technologies for high-frequency DC-DC switching converters.

  • In this study, a new PWM method considering the actuation delay of high speed solenoid valves is proposed to improve the response characteristics of electro hydraulic servo systems controlled by high speed solenoid valves. In addition, the decision method for the system gain, the basic period of PWM, and the sampling time is proposed, Since the conventional system controlled by high speed solenoid valves is too slow to apply this method, a high speed driving circuit(Quick-Drive) which enables rapid switching of the high speed solenoid valve at a high speed sampling mode is applied to realize this method. The experimental result shows that it is possible to achieve precision and quiet control without occurrence of limit cycle and wide range dead band.

  • Gallium nitride (GaN)-based power switching devices, such as high-electron-mobility transistors (HEMT), provide significant performance improvements in terms of faster switching speed, zero reverse recovery, and lower on-state resistance compared with conventional silicon (Si) metal-oxide-semiconductor field-effect transistors (MOSFET). These benefits of GaN HEMTs further lead to low loss, high switching frequency, and high power density converters. Through simulation and experimentation, this research thoroughly contributes to the understanding of performance characterization including the efficiency, loss distribution, and thermal behavior of a 160-W GaN-based synchronous boost converter under various output voltage, load current, and switching frequency operations, as compared with the state-of-the-art Si technology. Original suggestions on design considerations to optimize the GaN converter performance are also provided.

  • The widely used power supply (Switched Mode Power Supply : SMPS) as a source in order to stabilize direct current for electronics or communication systems has merits, when it is compared to the existing source for stability, such as high efficiency, small size, light weight by means of switching process of the semiconductor device which controls the flow of power. However, due to existence of inductors and capacitors used for charging energy, the source part in electronic or communication systems hasn't reached the speed, that is supposed to get, for achieving smaller size and lighter weight. In order to get smallness in size, it is necessary to increase switching frequency. And that makes devices for measuring energy smaller. Nevertheless, the rise switching frequency brings increases in switching loss, inductor loss, and power loss. Also, the occurrence of surge and noise caused by high frequency switching is getting higher. The resonant converter has been considered as one of methods that give solutions for the problems of SMPS and that method have been paid attention as a source technology in electronics and communication.

  • In this paper, to realize high speed position control of LDM (Linear DC Motor), the minimum time control method is applied. But, In this control method, calculation of non-linear function is required Therefore, in order to avoid this complex calculation, optimum switching of the Bang-Bang control is done on parabola type switching function established in the plane of phase. But, the sliding mode is occurred due to the modeling error of LDM and the variation of parameters. Thereby, the optimum 'control is not realized.   • New high-speed rail service, the Korea Train Express(KTX), has been beginning service in Korea. We measured the service quality of the Korea Train Express and comparatively analyzed the service quality of domestic flight and express buses which are means of long distance transportation. Furthermore, by using the Kano model, the perception level of the service of customers is not only segmented in groups but also switching barriers are derived. As a result, the customers by group have a difference in the level of their perception. While in both high-speed bullet train service and flights dimensions significantly affect the customer satisfaction and retention excluding a responsiveness dimension, in the Train Express four dimensions(Reliability, Responsiveness, Assurance, Tangibles) with the exception of Empathy which significantly affect the customer satisfaction and retention.
