고속 볼 엔드밀링의 가공면 특성에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Characteristic of Machined Surface by High Speed Ball End Milling)

  • Recently, high productivity and cost reduction becomes the most important target of industries due to the worldwide economic competition. One of these efforts is High Speed Machining(HSM), which reduces machining time with the increase of machining speed such as cutting speed and feedrate. It is very important, especially in case that the portion of machining time in production cost is high. This research suggests optimum cutting conditions to reduce cutting time with minimizing term error. For this study, a comprehensive model representing the texture of machining surface is developed, including rubbing phenomenon on the tip of ball end mill and expanded fibbing zone trajectory caused by tool deflection. Experiments show that the suggested set of feed and pick feed is optimum for maintaining the surface roughness identified by rubbing and low cutting speed in minimum.

  • High-speed machining is one of the most effective technologies to improve productivity. Because of the high speed and high feedrate, high-speed machining can give great advantages for the machining of dies and molds. In this paper, high-speed machining for HP-4 die material was carried out with a coated tungsten carbide ball endmill. In the high-speed machining, the cutting force and surface roughness of workpiece show various characteristics in different cutting conditions. Especially, the surface roughness of the workpiece depends largely on pick feed and feed-per-revolution of the ball endmill. In the condition where pick feed and feed-per-revolution are equal, better surface roughness is measured. By obtaining good surface roughness at high speed, efficiency of machining can be increased.

Abrasive-Assisted High Energy Water-Jet Machining Characteristics of Solid Wood

  • The application of abrasive-assisted high energy water-jet was investigated as a possible new method of cutting wood. In this study the maximum cutting speeds for species of various wood density were determined and water-jet machining characteristics were investigated for sixteen Korean domestic species. The maximum cutting speed ranged from 200 to 750 mm/min. The results indicate that wood density affects machining characteristics such as maximum cutting speed, surface roughness, and kerf width. Roughness of surface generated increased and kerf width decreased as penetration depth increased.

  • Several evaluation methods of conventional machine tools have been proposed by KS and ISO. Even though the accuracy of the tools can be evaluated with those methods, there are still no proper evaluation method of high sped machining. Because it is hard to evaluate characteristics of high speed machining such as decrease of cutting temperature, cutting force, and reduced machining time. Therefore, new evaluation method for high speed machine should be developed. In this paper, several shape of model have been proposed to evaluate cutting accuracy of high speed machine.

  • Plasma arc cutting is a fusion cutting process in which a gas-constricted arc is employed to produce a high-temperature, high-velocity plasma jet on the workpiece. This process provides some advantages such as increased cutting velocity, excellent working accuracy and the ability to cut special materials (widely used stainless steels and Al-alloys, for example), when compared with iconventional oxyfuel gas cutting. From the view point of price and reliability of the power source, plasma arc cutting has also some distinct advantages over laser beam cutting. High-speed machines with NC or CNC systems are needed for the plasma arc or laser beam cutting process, while for oxyfuel gas cutting, low-speed machines with copying templates or optical-shape tracking sensors can be applied. The low price and high flexibility of the microprocessor arc contributing more and more the application of CNC system in the plasma arc cutting process, as in other manufacturing fields. From these points of view, a microprocessor-based plasma arc cutting system was developed by using a reference-pulse system, and its performance was tested. The interpolating routines were programmed in the assembly language for saving the memory volume and improving the compouting speed, which has an intimate relationship with the available cutting velocity.

다구찌 실험 계획법을 이용한 고속가공에서 공구수명 조건의 최적화 (Optimal Cutting Condition of Tool Life in the High Speed Machining by Taguchi Design of Experiments)

  • High Speed Machining(HSM) reduces machining time and improves surface accuracy because of the high cutting speed and feedrate. Development of HSM makes it allowable to machine difficult-to-cut material and use small-size-endmill. It is however limited to cutting condition and tool material. In the machining operation, it is important to check main parameter of tool life and select optimal cutting condition because tool breakage can interrupt progression of operation. In this study, cutting parameters are determined to 3 factors and 3 levels which are a spindle speed, a feedrate and a width of cut. Experiment is designed to orthogonal array table for L9 with 3 outer array using Taguchi method. Also, it is proposed to inspect significance of the optimal factors and levels by ANOVA using average of SN ratio for tool life. Finally, estimated value of SN ratio in the optimal cutting condition is compared with measured one in the floor shop and reduction of loss is predicted.

  • In this study, three dimensional cutting force components and surface roughness appeared in high speed cutting by using tungsten carbide endmill tools implanted ion or not found mutual relations through several analysis of statistical dispersion. It is showed that cutting force(Fx) is affect with spindle speed and feed rate, cutting force(Fy) is affect with spindle speed and ion implantation time and cutting force(Fz) is affect with feed rate in interaction through the statistical method of ANOVA of cutting force and surface roughness, it is analyzed that it is affected of spindle speed and feed rate in surface roughness.

  • To complite the high speed cutting system, It should be solved some problems, to make light the weight of mechanism for feedrate, develop the Linear motor that bas more power, high speed control system, and high speed cutting tools, nowadays, although many high speed cutting machine is to be built by some machine maker ,they have same problems, in this study, developed the system ball screw type before the feedrate mechanism for linear motor ,so we make the basic system for Line Cents . through that, it is limited to reduce the weight of frame and their frame is to be designed differently each other to reach the purpose special material or strucutre should be contrived.
