Objectives: A web-based survey has been administered annually since 2005 throughout Korea to assess the prevalence of adolescent health risk behaviors among middle and high school students. The aim of this study was to evaluate the test-retest reliability of the Korea Youth Risk Behavior Web-based Survey (KYRBWS) questionnaire. Methods: A convenience sample of 2298 middle and high school students participated in self-administered questionnaire surveys twice, approximately two weeks apart, in 2008. The percent agreement, kappa statistics, and prevalence rates at the first and second surveys were computed for the core subset of 39 self-reported health risk behavior indices of the KYRBWS. Results: Among 39 indices, seven indices had kappas $\geq$ 0.81 and all of the indices had kappas $\geq$ 0.41. Based on nonoverlapping 95% confidence intervals, three indices had significantly different prevalence rates between the first and second surveys. In the subgroup analyses by school grade and gender, two indices had significantly different reliability estimates between middle and high school students. There were no significantly different reliability estimates between male and female students, except for one index. Conclusions: This study demonstrated that the reliability estimates for the KYRBWS questionnaire are varied, but generally reliable over time. The indices with low reliability estimates need to be evaluated further in order to determine whether the indices should be modified or deleted from future versions of the KYRBWS.
Purpose: The purpose of this study was to investigate the relationships among psycho-social well-being, and health perception and behavior in clinical nurses. Methods: The data were collected from 362 nurses employed at five general hospitals. A self-reported questionnaire was used to assess demographics and job characteristics, health perception and behavior, depression, and psycho-social stress. The data were analysed using Cronbach's alpha, descriptive statistics, t-test, and ANOVA. Results: While nurses perceived themselves to be in good health, represented by a high mean for health perceptions, actual health behavior was poor as the mean for health behavior was low. Forty two percents of the subjects were categorized as having major depression and high-stress levels. There were statistically significant differences in psycho-social well-being according to age, marital status, years of employment, and monthly salary. Also, there were significant differences in psycho-social well-being according to health perception, regular meals and exercise, sufficient sleep, job related injury and accident, and absences for ill. Conclusion: In order to prevent depression and improve psycho-social well-being among clinical nurses, organizational support and health management needs to be focused on high-risk nurses. Furthermore, it is essential to consider the health perception and behavior of clinical nurses.
In order to identify the health promoting behavior and its related factors for high school students, a survey was performed from 4th to 8th of December 2000. Population were selected by stratified random sampling method and total 355 students replied to the self-administered questionnaire survey. Data analysis was done by descriptive statistics, t-test, ANOVA. Pearson's Correlation, stepwise multiple regression. The results were as follows: 1. The average score of health promoting behavior practices was 2.23(SD=.41) points by the 4 point scale, which was lower than that of adults. In the subcategories, the highest degree of performance was self-actualization (mean= 2.68, SD=.68), and the lowest degree was health responsibility (mean = 1.33, SD= .41). 2. According to gender(t=2.70, p=.00), school type(t=2.53, p=.01), father's educational level(F=4.16, p=.00), sleeping hours(F=3.80, p = .02), and number of hours at school (F=4.44, p=.01), there were a statistically significant differences in modifying factors. of health promoting behavior. 3. Health promoting behavior showed significant positive correlations with self- efficacy(r= .461. p= .000), internal health locus of control (r=.284, p=.000), perceived health status (r=.163, p=.002). 4. The combination of self-efficacy, internal health locus of control. school type, and gender explained 30% of the variance of health promoting behavior. Therefore, the findings of research can serve as the basis for developing health promoting programs, which enhance self-efficacy and performed in school and community.
This study evaluated the quality of school milk programs and analyzed the relative importance of school milk program selection attributes using conjoint analysis. The survey was conducted on students from middle and high schools in metropolitan cities that provide school milk programs. Responses were received from 414 students and the data was subjected to frequency analysis, t-test, and conjoint analysis using the SPSS Statistics Package. While evaluating white milk in the school milk program, middle school students rated 'packaging condition' (4.23) the highest, high school students rated 'nutrition' (4.64) the highest, and their evaluation of all the quality attributes was significantly different from that of middle school students (p<0.001). Overall satisfaction scores too, showed a significant difference between high school (4.46) and middle school students (4.01) (p<0.001). Processed milk & dairy products had the highest satisfaction score in the attribute of 'serving time' (4.57). The relative importance of the choice attributes of the school milk program was in the order of 'number per item' (62.260%), 'temperature' (25.708%), and 'serving method' (12.032%) for all students. The school milk program most preferred by all students and middle school students was to provide milk at a refrigerated temperature, select white milk three times a week, processed milk, fermented milk, and cheese twice a week, and provide it at the desired time.

This study was conducted to analyze the characteristics of visitors to Hadong Bukcheon Iceland Poppy (BIP) Festival in order to sustain and enhance local flower festivals as a garden tourism. A questionnaire was distributed to BIP Festival visitors from May 18 to 27, 2018. A total of 167 responses were subject to be analyzed. Descriptive statistics analysis was mainly used and focused on describing the results in direct to explain the BIP Festival as a garden tourism. The number of female visitors and those in their 40s and 50s was high. Most of the visitors were found to live in other cities or counties near the area where BIP Festival was held and to prefer festivals held on the theme of nature and local features. The revisit rate and awareness of BIP Festival were 52.1% and 72.5% respectively. They mainly obtained the information on BIP Festival from people around them including family members, friends and colleagues, or from the Internet. Most answered that BIP festival was the most important destination on their trip. The major motives of BIP Festival visit included "spending quality time with family or friends (34.1%)", "appreciating Iceland poppy and gardens (25.6%)", and "enjoying oneself (tranquility, mental rest, etc.; 21.3%). As a companion, family and friends/colleagues accounted for 62.3% and 26.3% respectively. Most were found to spend 1-2 hours on visiting BIP festival and stay in Hadong county for a quarter of a day. In satisfaction of BIP Festival itself, "display and maintenance of Iceland poppy (3.76)" and "easiness of viewing (places arrangement, path, etc.) (3.57)" were high. In satisfaction of public relation and information, "service and hospitality of guides and desk clerks (3.66)" was high. The intention to revisit BIP Festival was nearly affirmative (3.73-3.80).
Purpose: This study investigated the impact of sense of humor and music on the self-confidence of elementary students with general characteristics. The research found differences between the impact of each participants' sense of humor and sense of music on self-confidence. Methods: The participants of this study comprised 265 children who were 3rd to 6th grade elementary students who lived in Seoul, Gyeonggi-do and Gangwon-do. The participants reported their sense of humor sense, sense of music and self-confidence on three separate questionnaires. The data were analyzed by means of descriptive statistics and t-test, ANOVA and Kruskal-Wallis test. Results: The results showed an increase in self-confidence related to the higher income status, young aged mothers and birth order. Moreover, academic achievement was shown to relate to a high sense of humor and music, and self-confidence. The elementary students with a sense of humor and music and self-confidence showed a significant positive correlation with each other. Conclusion: The above results of this study can be utilized as a source in the development of programs applying sense of humor and music to improve the self-confidence of elementary school students.
Purpose: This study was done to identify the preferences for learning style and the degree of self-directed learning and influencing factors on it among nursing students working on a Bachelor of Science in a nursing program at Suwon. Methods: The study sample included 156 nursing students. A self-report questionnaire was used to assess the data. The data was analyzed using the SPSS/WIN program for descriptive and inferential statistics. Results: Most of the students preferred lectures rather than discussion or team projects as a teaching method. Students preferred deliberating, sensing, and the use of visuals for their learning style. In addition, they favored sequential learning over comprehensive learning. Self directed learning had better outcomes in 3rd and 4th year students than 1st or 2nd year students. Additionally, active learners and high achievers who had a good GPA showed higher self directed learning than the others. Conclusion: In order to maximize students' self-directed learning, study guidance will be necessary for freshmen and for some who experience difficulties in studying nursing courses. Nursing faculty members should pay close attention to facilitate student's self directed learning, and encourage more discussions in the classes.
Purpose: This study was on the structural analysis of the covariant amount in order to evaluate the suitability of the structural models which can explain and predict the mental health of children on the basis of Bronfenbrenner's ecological theory. Methods: A questionnaire was used to survey 269 children from dysfunctional families out of 5th and 6th grade students from 30 elementary schools in one city and 6 counties, which was analyzed by using PASW Statistics 18.0 and LISREL 8.7 programs. Results: The variable which had influence on the self-esteem was the social support. The variable which had influence on the positive reaction under stress was the stress. The variables which had influence on the negative reaction under stress were stress, and self esteem. The variables which had influence on the mental health were the self-esteem and the negative reaction under stress. The main variables to influence the mental health of children from dysfunctional families turned out to be the self-esteem and the negative reaction under stress to the mental health. Conclusion: Evaluating the suitability of the models, I presented the bases on the practical nursing business. They showed the right directions to the mental health care of children from dysfunctional families.

In this paper, we propose a novel unsupervised video object extraction algorithm for individual images or image sequences with low depth of field (DOF). Low DOF is a popular photographic technique which enables the representation of the photographer's intention by giving a clear focus only on an object of interest (OOI). We first describe a fast and efficient scheme for extracting OOIs from individual low-DOF images and then extend it to deal with image sequences with low DOF in the next part. The basic algorithm unfolds into three modules. In the first module, a higher-order statistics map, which represents the spatial distribution of the high-frequency components, is obtained from an input low-DOF image. The second module locates the block-based OOI for further processing. Using the block-based OOI, the final OOI is obtained with pixel-level accuracy. We also present an algorithm to extend the extraction scheme to image sequences with low DOF. The proposed system does not require any user assistance to determine the initial OOI. This is possible due to the use of low-DOF images. The experimental results indicate that the proposed algorithm can serve as an effective tool for applications, such as 2D to 3D and photo-realistic video scene generation.
