  • The aim of the present study was to measure intra-individual consistency in clothing and fabric evaluation and to examine its relation to the ratings. A sample of 93 female and 97 male university students rated clothing of 4 styles of daytime wear and 2 fabrics on 15 pairs of polar adjectives twice in 7-days interval. Correlation coefficients between the two ratings for each subject, intra-individual consistency in the evaluation, ranged from -0.12 to 0.89 and mean coefficient was 0.63 of female and -0.01 to 0.78 and mean coefficient was 0.54 of male. Based on the coefficients, the subjects were classified into three groups: high, medium, and low intra-individual consistency. Analysis of variance of mean ratings by the three groups revealed that significant difference existed in 24% of female and 23% of male in 90 combinations of 6 clothing and 15 semantic differential scales. Female of subjects with high intra-individual consistency were most likely definite to evaluate clothing, whereas the ones with low were least. But male subjects were not definite. Mean correlation coefficients for style evaluation subscales of female was 0.39, but male was 0.44. Among the semantic differential scales, high stability in the two ratings was observed for the synthetic clothing evaluation. Correlation coefficients for each clothing obtained from the mean score of the subjects in each semantics differential scale were around 0.98, including that the mean scores of the subjects in each scale could yield excellent stability in clothing evaluation.

  • We present a robust and accurate boundary condition for pricing financial options that is a hybrid combination of the payoff-consistent extrapolation and the Dirichlet boundary conditions. The payoff-consistent extrapolation is an extrapolation which is based on the payoff profile. We apply the new hybrid boundary condition to the multi-dimensional Black-Scholes equations with a high correlation. Correlation terms in mixed derivatives make it more difficult to get stable numerical solutions. However, the proposed new boundary treatments guarantee the stability of the numerical solution with high correlation. To verify the excellence of the new boundary condition, we have several numerical tests such as higher dimensional problem and exotic option with nonlinear payoff. The numerical results demonstrate the robustness and accuracy of the proposed numerical scheme.

A questionnaire survey was conducted among 562 students from April 8 to April 22 in 2006. The results are summarized as follows. Convenience to eat is the best motive for visiting fast food restaurants. Nutrition knowledge scores of middle school male students were lower than those of the other groups. The more nutrition knowledge female students have, the lower fast food consumption became. There was no significant difference in nutrition knowledge and fast food consumption in male students. There was a significantly positive correlation between education levels of their parents and dietary attitude of the subjects(p<0.01). Pocket money showed a significantly negative correlation with dietary attitude and with fast food use frequency(p<0.05). There was a significantly positive correlation between nutrition knowledge and dietary attitude of the subjects. The use frequency of fast food showed a negative correlation with dietary attitude(p<0.01) and nutrition knowledge(p<0.05) of the subjects. Therefore, proper nutrition education is required to improve their nutritional status and dietary attitude.

  • The characteristics of drinking groundwater quality at Chung Cheong Nam Do was analyzed by investigating the 3,086 groundwater data which were carried out the water quality inspection from Jan. 1998 to Dec. 1998. It was found that all the mean concentration of items was not over the drinking water quality standard except Zn at Yeongee area. The highest mean concentration of nitrate was $8.2 mg/{\ell}$ at Hongsung area. And the mean concentrations of nitrate and ammonium at Sucheon, Yesan, Yeongee were relatively higher. It was considered that the groundwater of that area was contaminated by breeding livestock as farm pollutants. The mean concentrations of chloride, hardness and evaporation residual at coastal regions were higher than inland regions. Especially the mean concentration of chloride was 2.5 times higher. It was considered that the groundwater at coastal regions was affected by seawater. It was found that the correlation between Fe and Mn was relatively high(r=0.776) and the correlation between hardness and evaporation residual was very high(r=0.983). The rainfall series and detection rate of E-coli had the hydrologic persistence. The correlation between the detection rate and rainfall series over 150 mm was very high (r=0.9146). Therefore it is surely required to control the groundwater sanitation in the rainy season.
