Development of a VTR head inspection system (비데오 헤드 형상 검사 장치 개발)

  • In one VTR(Video Tape Recorder), two or more heads are used to record or reproduce video signals. To obtain a uniform quality of a VTR, video heads should have similar charcteristics such as geometrical shapes and electro-magnetic performances. This research is aimed to develop a visual inspection system that can measure four geoemtrical parameters;HO, HI, Tw and Cw. To obtain a high realable results, DSP based image board and target based image processing algorithms were used. A series of experiments was performed for one thousands of video heads. From observation of the experimental results, the system is found to show good performance for inspection of video heads.

Investigation of Physical Properties of N-doped DLC Film and Its Application to Mo-tip FEA Devices (질소가 도핑된 DLC 막의 물성 조사 및 Mo-tip FEA 소자에의 응용)

  • N-doped and low-hydrogenated DLC thin films were coated on the Mo-tip FEAs in order to improve the field emission performance and their electrical properties were evaluated. The fabricated devices showed improved field emission performance in terms of turn-on voltage, emission current and current fluctuation. This result might be caused both by the shift of Fermi level toward conduction band by N-doping and by the inherent stability of DLC material. Furthermore, the transconductance of the DLC-coated Mo-tip FEA and electrical conductivity and optical band-gap of the deposited DLC films were investigated.

  • 합1성단락시험에서 차단기의 정확한 아크시간을 검증하기 위해서는 재점호 회로가 필요하게 된다. 재점호장치는 전류원회로의 전류영점 직전에 기울기가 매우 큰 전류를 주입하여 차단기가 시험전류를 차단할 수 없게 하여 차단기의 아크시간을 직접시험과 동일하게 유지시키는 장치로서 본 장치를 구동하는 핵심장치는 고속도로 고전압 및 대전류를 투입하는 스파크 갭 스위치이다. 현재까지 이러한 용도의 스파크 갭 스위치가 개발되어 사용되고 있지만 본 논문에서는 고속 투입스위치로 진공차단기의 인터럽터를 사용하고, 시동용 전원으로 직류 12V만을 사용하여 정확하고 신뢰성 있는 재점호 장치용 스파크 갭 스위치의 설계, 제작 및 시운전 결과 등에 관해 기술 하였다.

  • Recently, it has been widely conceived that Concurrent Enginering (CE) can provide a competitive edge for companies that have confronted with rapidly changing market requirements, such as shortening of product life-cycles, high quality and low cost products, diversity of customer demand, and so on. CE is generally recognized as a practice to bridge the gap between designing a product and other various life-cycle activities, such as manufacturing, assembly, testing, and maintenance, at an early stage of design. In this paper the concepts of CE is first overviewed, and many of its supporting tools are discussed. It is then proposed an architecture of a CE support system that can provide a unifying view of the tools. Finally, a case that has successfully implemented the concepts is presented.

The Effects of Heat-treatment on the Mechanical Properties of High Chromium Cast Irons (고크롬 주철의 기계적 특성에 미치는 열처리 영향)

  • Mechanical characteristics of Hi-Cr cast irons containing 16.8%Cr and 3.0%C were studied with various heat treatments. After as-cast Y-block ingots were annealed fully, the ingots were machined into cylinderical specimens with the size of 9mm in diameter and 20mm in length in order to investigate the effect of heat-treatments on mechanical characteristics of high Cr cast irons. All specimens were heat-treated by quenching- tempering, austempering and cyclic heat at the various temperatures(950, 1000, 1050 and $1100^{\circ}C$) respectively. The wear amount was measured for each heat-treated specimens against the counterpart of a hardened SKD11 steel at the following conditions; wearing velocity: 0.7 m/s, load: 100N and sliding distance: 70 km. After as-cast specimens were annealed, fine $M_{3}C$ carbides were formed, which affected the hardness and the wear resistance of Hi-Cr specimens. High hardness and good wear resistance were appeared on the specimens treated at 950 and $1000^{\circ}C$ and the austempered specimens show excellent wear resistance as well as high hardness.

  • The pressure drop phenomenon that occurs when the same flow rate is supplied to the gas regulator was analyzed. The regulator moves the position of the piston through the interaction of the force acting on the upper and lower parts of the piston and the spring tension to release the pressure of a specific range in a specific environment as constant pressure, thereby maintaining the pressure. The flow characteristics and pressure control process of the regulator were investigated through a numerical analysis technique as the volume of the fluid inside the regulator changed. As the gap between the piston and the piston seat decreased, the pressure drop increased and the flow velocity increased. It was verified through numerical analysis that the piston was positioned at 0.12mm under the same conditions as the pressure-flow test (inlet pressure 3MPa, outlet pressure 0.8MPa, flow rate 70kg/h).

Single Channel Analysis of Xenopus Connexin 38 Hemichannel (제노푸스 Cx38 세포막채널의 단일채널분석)

  • Gap junction channels formed by two adjacent cells allow the passage of small molecules up to ${\sim}\;1\;kDa$ between them. Hemichannel (connexon or half of gap junction) also behaves as a membrane channel like sodium or potassium channels in a single cell membrane. Among 26 types of connexin (Cx), $Cx32^*43E1$ (a chimera in which the first extracellular loop of Cx32 has been replaced with that of Cx43), Cx38, Cx46, and Cx50 form functional hemichannels as well as gap junction channels. Although it is known that Xenopus oocytes express endogenous connexin 38 (Cx38), its biophysical characteristics at single channel level are poorly understood. In this study, we performed single channel recordings from single Xenopus oocytes to acquire the biophysical properties of Cx38 including voltage-dependent gating and permeation (conductance and selectivity). The voltage-dependent fast and slow gatings of Cx38 hemichannel are distinct. Fast gating events occur at positive potentials and their open probabilities are low. In contrast, slow gatings dominate at negative potentials with high open probabilites. Based on hi-ionic experiments, Cx38 hemichannel is anion-selective. It will be interesting to test whether charged amino acid residues in the amino terminus of Cx38 are responsible for voltage gatings and permeation.

Reduction of Deposits on the Electrode by the Cell Modification in Direct Sea Water Electrolysis System (해수전해장치 전해조 개선에 의한 전극 부착물 저감)

  • In a direct sea water electrolysis system, deposits on the electrode cause decrease in the performance and increase in electrode damage. To reduce the deposition on the electrode, the modified cells were developed, namely: replaced grating type anodes with plate type ones; reduced the number of anodes from 9 to 8; widened the electrode gap from 2.4 mm to 3.0 mm; and reduced the number of spacers. that maintained the electrode gap, from 27 to 10. The developed cells were installed and tested at a power plant. The modified cells reduced deposition by 36~60%. The current efficiency increased by 15~20%. The electricity consumption reduced by 20%. In each case, the comparisons were between the modified cells and standard cells.

  • In this study, Dual servo mechanism with VCM(Voice Coil Motor) and PZT is designed for a high precision force and position control. We designed the VCM actuator and dual servo mechanism with leaf spring. VCM actuators, with their high linearity, simple structure, low weight, and high efficiency, are increasingly being used in micro-positioning applications. There are many kinds of VCM with a structure. VCM actuators are divided into two types by moving parts. One is moving magnet type and the other moving coil type. We described the properties of these two types of VCM. Design parameters of VCM are defined through the FEM simulation analysis of magnetic field and dynamic model of dual servo mechanism. These researches help to for decreasing loss in the air gap of VCM. We present dual servo mechanism is effective mechanism for a force control in hi h precision, properties of designed VCM.

Development and Application of an Analysis Taxonomy for Curricular Articulation in Mathematics and Science (수학및 과학 교과내용의 연계성 분석을 위한 준거모형 설정과 예시적 분석)

  • A taxonomy which can be used conveniently for analyzing the vertical articulation of mathematics and science textbooks has been developed. It includes two types sanalysis criterion: one is based on the detail of description and the other is based on the depth of contents in terms of their sequence. These two criterion elements are combined to form groups of 'overlap', 'development' and 'gap' to represent the extent of articulation. Examples of applying the taxonomy are illustrated for the concepts of gemetrical area in mathematics and potential energy in science.
