The cable cooling through installing the cooling pipe along the transmission cable becomes universal in foreign leading countries, especially in Japan, and, there are so many study results inside and outside of the country. However, the remarkable study result for cooling method of cable splice part is not achieved in spite of its importance. This paper is, therefore, carrys out detailed heat transfer analysis of existing 154kV underground cable-splice, depending on the insulation thickness variation when it is installed in manhole of tunnel whose temperature is maintained as $10^{\circ}C$ using refrigerator. This paper study also the cooling method of underground cable splice based on this result.
Ultrastructural changes in endomysial connective tissue, sarcolemma, transverse ridges and myofibrillar structures with particular attention given to Z-discs. A and I-filaments induced by heating to $80^{\circ}C$ were observed by transmission and scanning electron microscopy. Muscle heated to $80^{\circ}C$ produced granulation of sarcolemma aid ultrastructural changes and coagulation were observed in endomysial and sarcolemmal connective tissue. The edvient changes in myofibrillar structure were an increase in coagulation compactness of the A-band portion of sarcomere and disintegration of the I-bands. Z-discs appeared to be relative resistant to heat but I-filaments were observed to be most heat labile.
Silicon carbide nanowires were grown by heat treatment of the films at $1200^{\circ}C$ after amorphous SiC thin films were deposited on graphite substrate by radio frequency magnetron sputtering at $600^{\circ}C$. It was confirmed that SiC nanowires with the diameter of 20-60 nm and length of about 50nm were grown from Field Emission Scanning Election Microscope (FE-SEM) and Transmission Election Microscope (TEM) observation. The diameter of nanowires was increased as heat treatment time is increased. The nanowires were identified to ${\beta}$-SiC single crystalline from X-Ray Diffraction(XRD) analysis. It was observed from this study that deposition temperature of samples was critical to the crystallization of nanowires. On the other hand, the effect of deposition time was insignificant.

In HVDC thyristor valves, more than 95% of heat loss occurs in snubber resistors and valve reactors. In order to dissipate the heat from the valves and to suppress the electrolytic current, water with a high heat capacity and a low conductivity of less than 0.2 uS/cm must be used as a refrigerant of the heat sink. The cooling parts must also be arranged to reduce the electrolytic current, whereas the pipe that supplies water to the thyristor heat sink must have the same electric potential as the valve. Corrosion is mainly caused by electrochemical reactions and the influence of water quality and leakage current. This paper identifies the refrigerants involved in the ionization, electrical conductivity, and corrosion in HVDC thyristor valves. A method for preventing corrosion is then introduced. The design of the heat sink with an excellent heat radiation is also analyzed in detail.
The goal of this study is to provide beauticians with the fundamental material to use effectively heat permanent wave in beauty industry as well as their customer's satisfaction. It carried out an experiment with damaged hair of a woman in her late twenties to investigate the change of physical and morphological characteristics by its water content when performing heat permanent wave. After spreading 0g, 1g, 2g, 3g, and 4g of water on damaged hair respectively, heat permanent wave was treated and the change of hair was observed. The change of physical characteristic was compared through permanent wave form of hair, tensile strength and elongation. The change of morphological characteristic was observed through Scanning Electron Microscope(SEM) and Transmission Electron Microscope(TEM). The result of experiment on the physical specificity revealed that permanent wave form was the most ideal when the water content was 2g, also 3g. Though the materials with much moisture content formed the results were not satisfied. The material with 0g of water content didn't make the wave. In terms of tensile strength and elongation, tensile strength was generally reduced as per the damaged degree of hair. On the contrary, elongation was increased. It observed the changes of morphological characteristic that the damage on hair cuticle was deepen, as its moisture content was decreased, and cuticle's surface was worn away. The observation of fine structure on hair section by transmission electronic microscope also certainly showed the result that damaged hair having experience with chemical treatment had got much damaged to hair cuticle as well as hair cortex. Generally chemical treatment makes hair damaged. Under consideration of this aspect, the ultimate goal of this thesis is to minimize the damage of hair caused by chemical treatment and get the satisfaction on the hair style. According to the result of experiment, the damaged hair whose moisture content was 3g showed the best permanent wave form.
The purpose of this study is to provide beauticians with the fundamental material for them to use effectively heat permanent wave and satisfy their customers. The purpose of this study was to provide basic data for development of environmental design technology for greenhouses constructed in reclaimed lands. We analyzed the climatic conditions around seven major reclaimed land areas in Korea, which have a plan to install advanced horticultural complexes. The characteristics of heating load through the thermal environment measurement of the greenhouse in Saemangeum were analyzed. The part to be applied to the environmental design of the greenhouses in reclaimed lands were reviewed. The overall heat transfer coefficient of the experimental greenhouse with the aluminum screen and multi-layer thermal curtain averaged $3.79W/m^2^{\circ}C$. It represents a 44 % heat savings rate compared with plastic greenhouses with a single covering, which was significantly lower than that of the common greenhouses with 2-layer thermal curtains. This is because the experimental greenhouse was installed on reclaimed land and wind was stronger than the inland area. Among the total heating load, the transmission heat loss accounted for 96.4~99.9 %, and the infiltration loss and the ground heat exchange were low. Therefore, it is necessary to take countermeasures to minimize the transmission heat loss for greenhouses constructed in reclaimed lands. As the reclaimed land is located on the seaside, the wind is stronger than the inland area, and the fog is frequent. Especially, Saemangeum area has 2.6 times stronger wind speed and 3.4 times longer fog duration than the inland area. In designing the heating systems for greenhouses in reclaimed lands, it is considered that the maximum heating load should be calculated by applying the wind coefficient larger than the inland area. It is reasonable to estimate the operation cost of the heating system by applying the adjustment factor 10 % larger than the average in calculating the seasonal heating load.

The purpose of this study was to analyze factors influencing insulation performance of inorganic Autoclaved Lightweight Concrete(ALC) sandwich wall panels with the application of shear connectors. To analyze the effect of shear connectors on the thermal performance of sandwich wall panels, heat transfer analysis was conducted by using the three-dimensional heat transfer simulation software. Four types of shear connector such as Pin, Clip, Grid, and Truss were selected for insulation performance analysis. Thermal bridge coefficient was calculated by varying typical panel thickness and shear connector thickness and materials such as steel, aluminum, and stainless steel. The results showed that Grid and Truss type widely distributed along the section of sandwich wall panel had a great influence on the thermal bridge coefficient by changing the influence factors. Based on the results of thermal and structural performance analysis, effective heat transmission coefficient of the sandwich wall panel satisfying the passive house insulation criteria was calculated. As a result, it was found that heat transmission coefficient was increased from $0.132W/m^2{\cdot}K$ to $0.141{\sim}0.306W/m^2{\cdot}K$ depending on the shear connector types and materials. In the majority of cases, the passive house insulation criteria was not satisfied after using shear connectors. The results of this study were likely to vary according to how influence factors were set, but it is important to apply the methods that reduce the thermal bridge when there would be a possibility of greatly affecting the insulation performance.
The renewable energy source is considered as a good measure to cope with the global warming problem and the fossil energy exhaustion. The construction of electric power plant such as an offshore wind farm is rapidly increasing and this trend is expected to be continued during this century. The bulky and long distance power transmission media is essential to support and promote the sustainable expansion of renewable energy source. DC power cable is generally considered as the best solution and the demand for DC electric power has been rapidly increasing. Especially, the high temperature superconducting (HTS) DC cable system begins to make a mark because of its advantages of huge power transmission capacity, low transmission loss and other environmental friendly aspects. Technical contents of DC HTS cable system are very similar to those of AC HTS cable system. However the DC HTS cable can be operated near its critical current if the heat generation is insignificant, while the operating current of AC HTS cable is generally selected at about 50~70% of the critical current because of AC loss. We chose the specifications of the cable core of 'Tres Amigas' project as an example for our study and investigated the heat generation when the DC HTS cable operated near the critical current by some electric and thermal analyses. In this paper, we listed some technical issues on the design of the DC HTS cable core and described the process of the cable core design. And the results of examination on the current capacity, heat generation, harmonic loss and current distribution properties of the DC HTS cable are introduced.
In this study, we conducted research on a miniaturized transmission system suitable for ultra-compact electric vehicles, such as electric arts or small electric cars. While conventional electric vehicles eliminate multi-gear transmissions and control motor output or secure initial driving force through reducers, in vehicles like electric karts or compact electric cars, which have relatively small battery capacities, the driving range can be reduced or the motor can be stressed epending on the loading state. Therefore, in this study, we developed a low stage ratio 0.625 and high stage ratio 1.6 a two-stage transmission system that can change gears as needed, considering factors such as slope conditions and loading status, by applying the continuously variable transmission (CVT) mechanism. Based on the selected gear ratios, we designed the transmission and created a test rig to verify the power transmission efficiency of the developed transmission. Using the test rig, we varied the rotational speed and load of the transmission to confirm its power transmission characteristics and also examined the heat generation characteristics during shifting and operation. As a result, developed a two-stage transmission with a CVT structure.
