SI 열화학 수소 생산 공정 요오드 결정화기 열-물질 수지 계산 (Calculation of Mass-Heat Balance on the Iodine Crystallizer for SI Thermochemical Hydrogen Production Process)

  • SI thermochemical hydrogen production process achieves water splitting into hydrogen and oxygen through three chemical reactions. The process is comprised of three sections and one of them is HI decomposition into $H_2$ and $I_2$ called as Section III. The production of $H_2$ included processes involving EED for concentrating a product stream from Section I. Additionally an $I_2$ crystallization would be considered to reduce burden on EED by removing certain amount of $I_2$ out of a process stream prior to EED. In this study, the current thermodynamic model of SI process was briefly described and the calculation results of the applied Electrolytes NRTL model for phase equilibrium calculations was illustrated for ternary systems of Section III. We calculated temperature and heat duty of an $I_2$ crystallizer and heat duty of heaters using UVa model and heat balance equation of simulation tool. The results were expected to be used as operation information in optimizing HI decomposition process and setting up material balance throughout SI process.

  • 3차원 실내공간의 상부에서 일정유속이 유입하여 양측면 하부쪽으로 유출될 경우, 책상형의 가열 장애물 영향에 의한 유동장의 변화와 온도분포를 수치계산 한 결과 다음과 같은 결론을 얻었다. (1)표준 k-$\varepsilon$ 2 방정식 모델로 난류유동장을 해석한 결과 장애물을 기준으로 상하부에는 독립적인 큰 재순환 영역이 존재함을 알 수 있었다. (2) 유입류의 속도 변화에 따른 전제적인 유동패턴은 큰 변화없이 상사적인 분포를 하는 것을 알 수 있었다. (3) 유입속도가 감소함에 따라서, 공간에 대한 발열체의 온도영향이 커진다. (4) Re수가 작은 범위 (10 상(4)-10 상(5)에서는 열전달이 급격히 상승하여, Re수가 10 상(5)이상이 도면 열전달이 거의 일정하다.

  • Experiments were performed to characterize single-phase heat transfer behavior of submerged liquid jet with multiple nozzle normally impinging on the smooth and extended surfaces. Arrays of 9 and 36 nozzles were used, with diameters of 0.5 to 2.0mm providing nozzle area ratio (AR) from 0.05 to 0.2. The square pin fin arrays were chosen as extended surfaces and the effects of geometrical parameters such as fin height, the ratio of fin width to channel width on heat transfer enhancement were examined. Single nozzle characteristics were also evaluated for comparison. The results clearly showed that heat transfer enhancement could be realized by using multiple nozzles at the constant volume flow rate. The average Nusselt number of multiple nozzle impingement on the smooth surface was correlated by the following equation : Nu/$Pr\frac{1}{3}=0.94 Re^{0.56}N^{-0.12}AR^{0.50}$The average heat transfer coefficients of multiple nozzle impingement on the extended surfaces decreased with increasing fin height and the ratio of fin width to channel width. The effectiveness of ex-tended surfaces ranged from 1.5 to 3.5 depending on the fin height, the ratio of fin width to channel width of pin fin arrays, nozzle number and nozzle area ratio.

마이크로 평판내 증발에 의한 확장초승달영역의 열/유동특성 (Flow and Heat Transfer Characteristics of the Evaporating Extended Meniscus in a Micro Parallel Plate)

  • A mathematical model is presented to predict the two-phase flow and heat transfer phenomena of the evaporating extended meniscus region in a micro-channel. The pressure difference at the liquid-vapor interface can be obtained by the augmented Laplace-Young equation. The correlative equations for film thickness, pressure, and velocity in the meniscus region are derived by applying the mass, momentum, and energy equations into the control volume. The results show that increasing the heat flux and the liquid inlet velocity cause the length and liquid film thickness of the extended meniscus region to decrease. The variation, however, of the heat flux and liquid inlet velocity has no effect on the profile of film thickness. The majority of heat is transferred through the thin film region that is a very small region in the extended meniscus region. It is also found that the vapor velocity increases gradually in the meniscus region. However, it increases sharply at the junction of the meniscus and thin film regions.

액적 충돌에 동반된 열전달에 관한 수치적 연구 (Numerical Study of Heat Transfer Associated with Droplet Impact)

  • Numerical analysis of the heat transfer associated with droplet impact on a hot solid surface is performed by solving the equations governing conservation of mass, momentum and energy in the liquid and gas phases. The deformed droplet shape is tracked by a level set method which is modified to achieve volume conservation and to include the effect of contact angle at the wall. The numerical method is validated through the calculations for the cases reported in the literature. Based on the numerical results, the heat transfer rate is found to depend strongly on the droplet spread radius. Decreased advancing/receding contact angles enlarge the splat radius and in turn enhance the wall heat flux. The effect of impact velocity on the droplet spread is reduced as the droplet size decreases. Also, droplet atomization is observed to significantly enhance the heat transfer rate and the effect is pronounced for a smaller size of droplet. An existing model equation to predict the maximum spread radius is improved for application to a micro droplet.

  • 본 논문에서는, 긴 단열부를 갖는 열파이프에 있어서, 단열부에 유동저항이 매우 작은 접힌판재의 그루우브 wick를 넣은 구조에 대한 이론적, 실험적 연구를 다 루었다. 본 논문의 목적은, 위에서 설명한 열파이프의 근본적인 상반기능을 해결해 줄 수 있는 하나의 열파이프 구조를 제공할 뿐만 아니라, 더 나아가 접힌 판재의 그루 우브라는 새로운 형태의 wick의 가능성을 암시하는 데 있는 것이다.

  • 극저온 물질의 저장용기가 외부로부터 일정한 열유속을 받을 때 저장용기내의 압력상승을 해석하였다. 저장용기는 원통형 축대칭이고 윗벽과 아래벽은 단열되었으며 열유속은 옆벽에서 받는다. 유한차분법을 이용하여 저장용기내의 자연대류현상을 해석하였으며, 대상물질로는 산소, 수소 및 질소를 대상으로 하였다. 액체는 비압축성 유체, 기체는 virial 상태방정식을 만족하는 것으로 가정하였다. 기체의 2차 virial 계수는 Lennard-Jones 모형으로부터 구했다. 저장용기내의 압력상승에 미치는 주요한 인자는 외부열유속과 저장용기벽의 열용량 그리고 기체의 초기 부피비였으며, 이들중 가장 중요한 변수는 외부열유속이었다. 산소에 대해 기체를 이상기체를 가정했을 때와 virial 상태방정식을 만족하는 기체로 가정했을 때의 압력차이를 비교했다.

표준공액구배법과 수정공액구배법을 이용한 2차원 열전도 문제의 역해석 (An Inverse Analysis of Two-Dimensional Heat Conduction Problem Using Regular and Modified Conjugate Gradient Method)

  • A two-dimensional transient inverse heat conduction problem involving the estimation of the unknown location, ($X^*$, $Y^*$), and timewise varying unknown strength, $G({\tau})$, of a line heat source embedded inside a rectangular bar with insulated boundaries has been solved simultaneously. The regular conjugate gradient method, RCGM and the modified conjugate gradient method, MCGM with adjoint equation, are used alternately to estimate the unknown strength $G({\tau})$ of the source term, while the parameter estimation approach is used to estimate the unknown location ($X^*$, $Y^*$) of the line heat source. The alternate use of the regular and the modified conjugate gradient methods alleviates the convergence difficulties encountered at the initial and final times (i.e ${\tau}=0$ and ${\tau}={\tau}_f$), hence stabilizes the computation and fastens the convergence of the solution. In order to examine the effectiveness of this approach under severe test conditions, the unknown strength $G({\tau})$ is chosen in the form of rectangular, triangular and sinusoidal functions.

식품의 동결시간 예측을 위한 표면열전달계수 측정 (Measurement of the Surface Heat Transfer Coefficients for Freezing Time Prediction of Foodstuffs)

  • For the accurate prediction of freezing time, probably the most difficult factor to measure and major error source is the surface heat transfer coefficient. In this work, surface heat transfer coefficient were determined for still air freezing and immersion freezing methods by theory of the transient temperature method and confirmed by using a modification of plank's equation to predict the freezing time of ground lean beef. The results showed the cooling rate of immersion freezing was about 11 times faster than that of still air freezing method. A comparison of surface heat transfer coefficient of copper plate and ground lean beef resulted an difference of 25-30% because the food sample surface is not smooth as copper plate. Also, when h-values measured by ground lean beef were applicated to modified model, the accuracy of its results is very high as difference of about 8%.

  • Nowadays there has been great interest in using heat treated cast material for press dies due to several advantages like reduction in die production costs. However, in hot press forming processes H13 forged tool steel is mostly used. Cooling performance of dies in hot press forming processes is considered as an important factor of study and also the IHTC parameter between cast material die and sheet metal should be considered as an essential. In the present study, the IHTC was calculated for the sheet metal in the hot press forming process with cast and forged material dies. The temperature measurements were performed for the sheet metal, casting and forged material dies by applying various contact pressure in hot press forming. IHTC was calculated and studied by adopting the inverse heat convection method in DEFORM-2D. Each IHTC was considered as a function of contact time and contact pressure. The experimental data were compared with calculated data obtained from the proposed equation and references.
