우리나라 학교보건사업(學校保健事業) 변천에 관(關)한 연구 (A Study on the Analysis of School Health Program by the Chronological Events in Korea)

  • The purpose of this study was to identify and name clusters of school health program, and to describe some of the characteristics of administratie supports. The literature, materials and public documents were analysed by the chronological events from 1945 to 1989. The result of this study is as follows : 1. A brief summary of the history of school health program was included as an introduction to the analysis of the current programs of school health. Five current school health-program clusters were identified from findings of a study of programs : 1) physical assessment, laboratory examination and health services for the students, 2) health instruction 3) healthful living condition (environmental health), 4) health clinic management, 5) administrative supports. 2. The earliest school- based efforts focused on communicable disease pevention by the ministry of health and social affairs. Annual medical inspection (health assessment) for school children for eyes, ears, nose, and throat were mandated nation-wide in 1951 by physical assessment Act. 3. In 1979, the health instruction of schools to improve the health status of students was improved by health department in the Ministry of Education 4. Experiences in healthful environment were basic components of the school health program. However, without careful planning and supervision these experiences were not contributed to the goal of school health. The formal program of school health environment were initiated in 1979 5. In 1980, the guidelines of school health clinic management were prepared by Ministry of Education such as guidance of essential degrees and facilities in school health clinic. 6. Two patterns of administration of school health programs existed in Korea. In one the school health department operated its own health program and in the other the physical education department operated the health program within the school system. The school health department was established in Ministry of Education from 1979 to 1982. Improved school health programs will be a key element in the comprehensive national child health policy which I will ask the Ministry of Education to develop for the Department.

관절염 대상자를 위한 건강증진 프로그램의 효과 -보건진료소를 중심으로- (The Effect of Health Promotion Program on Health of the Clients with Arthritis in Primary Health Care Center)

  • A quasi-experimental study was conducted to investigate the effects of health promotion program on health of the clients with arthritis. In this study. the health promotion program consisted of self appointment and confirmation. discussion, health education. group counsel, and exercise. And the program focused on self - help group meeting. A total of 68 subjects was randomly assigned into either the control group(n = 24) or the intervention group(n =44). The results of the study analyzed using a SPSS win, were as follows: 1) In physical function of physical health. there was a significant improvement in flexibility of the shoulder joint(hold the hand upward and downward behind the back). sit and reach, extension of the knee joint in the intervention group, compared to the control group, while no difference in flexibility of the shoulder joint(raising the arm), flexion of the knee joint, and grip strength. There was a significant improvement in physical functional disability in the intervention group, compared to the control group, but no difference in fatigue and pain. 2) The health promotion program resulted in improvement in psychosocial health(e.g. increase of self-efficacy and decreases of social functional disability) in the intervention group, compared to the control group. It was concluded that the health promotion program(weekly session for 6 weeks) employed in this study was appropriate for the clients with arthritis in primary health care center and had a positive effect on health in general.

지역사회 한방건강증진사업을 위한 조사연구 (Survey on Community Oriental Health Promotion Program)

  • Purpose: This study was performed to examine present health condition on community clients and the degree of cognition on community oriental health promotion program. Method: Research design is cross-sectional descriptive study, 300 residents who live in S city were selected. The period of data collection was from October 2005 to April 2006. The research instruments used were the VAS of fatigue, headache, pain, Depression, anxiety to examine present physical and psychological health condition and questionnaire on the degree of cognition on Oriental Health Promotion Program. SPSS 10.0 was used for statistics. Results: The range of fatigue, headache, pain, depression, anxiety was 2.09-3.75. The degree of cognition on program was 2.67. As for the degree of cognition on oriental health promotion program according to general characteristics of subject, there was significant difference(F=3.79, p=.038) between below 65 years(2.88) and above 65 years(3.12). Conclusion: We are trying to develop oriental health promotion program fit to property of community, especially elderly.

부인암 여성과 배우자를 위한 웹 기반 성 건강 프로그램 개발 (Development of a Web-based Sexual Health Program for Women Undergoing Treatment for Gynecologic Cancer and Their Partners)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to develop a web-based sexual health program for women undergoing treatment for gynecologic cancer and their partners, and to evaluate the validity of the developed program. Methods: A web-based sexual health program was developed and evaluated: analysis (needs assessment on 23 patients and content analysis through literature review and web search), design, development, implementation, and evaluation. Results: The web-based sexual health program for women undergoing treatment for gynecologic cancer and their partners was structured with sexual life, sexual response cycle, change of sexual function, sexual dysfunction related to treatment, and useful method for sexual dysfunction. This program included a video to improve for understanding and a bulletin board to promote bi-directional interactions between program users and providers. Experts and users rated this program in terms of efficacy, convenience, design, relevance, and usefulness. This program contents were found appropriate and satisfactory to both experts and users. Conclusion: This web-based sexual health program for women undergoing treatment for gynecologic cancer and their partners would contribute to sexual health promotion for gynecologic cancer women and their partners.

학교건강증진사업의 주요 영역과 전략 개발을 위한 선진사례 분석 (Analysis of Advanced School Health Promotion Policies and Programs for Developing Effective School Health Strategies)

  • The role of school as a key setting for health promotion practices should be empathized. However, there were limitations for the effectiveness of school health promotion practices in Korea because of the lack of recognition about its importance, social support, guiding principles of the school health promotion services by the school health related law, and cooperation between school and community. The purpose of this study was to analyse the advanced cases from The United States, Japan, Europe and Australia, and to evaluate the applicability to school health promotion services in Korea for establishing the strategy for effective implementation of school health promotion program in Korea. Four cases of school health program were selected for analysis, including Coordinated School Health Program and National School Health Strategies in the USA, Healthy Japan21, National School Health Initiative in Australia and the European Network of Health Promoting Schools. Major conclusions were as follows: 1. Advanced cases of school health programs were comprehensive in nature. 2. Integrated school and community health promotion efforts was emphasized. mostly. 3. Governmental agencies played an active role in conducting surveillance activities to monitor priority health risk behaviors, developing school health program and training manual, providing periodic program evaluation. 4. Life skill focused health education was the key component for the comprehensive school health program. For the improvement of efficiency in school health promotion practices, above advanced strategies for school health promotion program would be necessary.

중년여성의 통합적 건강증진 프로그램 적용의 효과 (The Effect of an Integrated Health-Promotion Program in Middle-Aged Women)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to test the effect of an integrated health promotion program in middle-aged women. Method: The research design was a quasi experimental, one-group pretest-posttest design. Data was collected from July 1st to August 31st, 2003. One group consisted of 30 subjects. The instruments used for the study were the Self Efficacy Scale and the Health Promotion Behavior Scale developed by Park(1995), Subjective health status developed Speake(1989) and menopause-related symptoms developed by Park(1995). The data was analyzed using the SPSS WIN 10.0 program. In order to compare the effects of the pre-post synthesized health promotion program, the ed t-test was employed. Result: There was not a significant increase in subjective health status after the integrated health promotion program, nor was there a significant decrease in menopause-related symptoms after the synthesized health promotion program. There was a significant increase in self efficacy after the integrated health promotion program(p=.029), and there was also a significant increase in health promotion behavior after the integrated health promotion program(p=.006). Conclusions: Through an 8 week education program for health promotion, self efficacy and health promotion behavior were effectively changed in middle-aged women.

북한이탈주민 맞춤형 구강건강증진 프로그램의 효과 (Evaluation of customized oral health promotion program for North Korean defector)

  • Objectives: The purpose of this study was to evaluate the customized oral health promotion program for North Korean defectors (NKDs). Methods: Using a pre-survey comprising phases 1-5 of the PRECEDE-PROCEED model, a customized oral health promotion program was created. The participants, a total of 129 NKDs, were allocated to the experimental group (n=64; 43 females and 21 males) or the control group (n=65; 46 females and 19 males). After the interventions, phases 7 to 9 of the PRECEDE-PROCEED model were executed to determine the effect of the program. Results: The results for phase 7 revealed high satisfaction with the program, with an average of 2.89 out of 3 points. In phase 8, concerning the impact evaluation, it was found that oral health beliefs and oral health knowledge were improved, with statistically significance differences before and after the experiment. Phase 9, concerning the outcome evaluation, showed that there were statistically significant differences in the average within groups before and after education in oral health beliefs (OHB), O'Leary index scores, and CPI. In terms of the difference between the groups, there were statistically significant improvement in OHB, O'Leary index scores, and CPI after the education program. Conclusions: The oral health promotion program developed in this study has made a positive contribution to improve the oral health status of NKDs.

건강증진교육 프로그램이 중년여성의 자기효능감, 건강관리지식, 건강증진행위에 미치는 효과 (Effects of a Health Promoting Education Program on Self-Efficacy, Knowledge of Health Management and Health Promoting Behavior for Middle-Aged Women)

  • Purpose: This study is to examine the effect of a health promoting education program for middle-aged women. Methods: Health promoting education program: The subject group consisted of 116 women between 40 and 60 years of age. Three 12-week sessions consisted of a 90 minute class each week, from March 14th to November 14th, 2003. Pre- and post-education tests were collected after each session. The data was collected using structured questionnaires before and after the education sessions. Data were analyzed employing descriptive statistics, paired t-test with SPSS/PC (10.0 version) program. Results: There were significant changes in health promoting behavior, but no significant changes in the self-efficacy and the knowledge of health management. Conclusion: This study showed that a health promoting education program has partially positive effects for middle-aged women. Based on this study, a continuous education program through a community health center is needed for middle-aged women's health.

영유아보건생활 교육프로그램 개발에 관한 연구 (Health Education Program Development for Infants, Toddlers and Preschool Children)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to develop a health education program for child care workers of infants, toddlers and preschoolers to improve their care ability. The program provided child care teachers and children with information on how to take care of their health. Method: This program development was based on a systematic design of instruction by Dick & Carey(1996). The process included a review of literature, setting an instructional goal, getting advice from various experts, designing instruction and instructional medias, designing formative evaluation, revising the program and making a summative evaluations. Result: The products of this program were the 'Teachers Guide Book & CD-ROM.' The guide book included health education programs for infants, toddlers and preschoolers. The infant program included a basic baby care program for teachers. The toddlers and preschoolers program included basic health promotion, dental health, nutrition management, communicable disease prevention, substance abuse prevention and a safety program. Conclusion: These programs provided a systematic content of health education for children and their teachers, and useful data which can be applied to child care centers.
