This study analyzed consumer attitude, habit strength, subjective norm, a pros evaluation, and intention to consume to estimate perceptible variables that affect apple consumption. Data were collected from 207 men and women through a selfadministrated questionnaire. A partial least squares regression was conducted as one of structural equation models to estimate and test hypotheses. The results showed that attitude, habit strength, and the pros evaluation affected the intention to consume apples, and that the intention increased apple consumption. The results also showed that some marketing strategies are needed to promote apple consumption and to make consumers change their intention, to develop habits for eating apples by changing their diets, and to impress upon them that apples are good for health. This can be interpreted as meaning that it is most important to understand consumer behavior, particularly consumer psychology, which is reflected in the recent trend of marketing that concentrates on meeting the consumer's needs rather than the producer's.
This study was conducted to find gender differences in physical activity, dietary habit and nutrient intake in 4∼6th grade students in elementary school. Physical activity assessment showed that males significantly engaged in more vigorous activity with longer duration than females. It was found that females skipped their breakfast more often and had more snack than males. On the other hand, males were more indulged in peaky eating, despite their good practice of drinking milk. Twenty-four hour dietary recall revealed that energy intakes in both males and females were not sufficient. Furthermore, subjects, regardless of gender, consumed marginal intakes of Ca and Fe. Special attention should be given to marginal intakes of Ca in the subjects. Due to low Fe intake in females, more caution should be taken to include a meal which can enhance iron absorption. It might be suggested that effective intervention strategies need to be developed and implemented to choose nutrient dense foods and activities that lead to better health.

The healthy products dedicated for young people are qualified as a solution to protect the future generation, especially that most commercial deals do not consider the consumer's health and environment. Therefore, it is crucial to define the antecedent of healthy purchases and to examine their impact on teenagers. This research aims to explore the antecedents and the consequences of the consumption of Saudis teenagers. Therefore, we develop a research model in the conceptual framework and the hypotheses to test. The empirical analysis required two samples from Saudis youth consumers. The first sample was utilized in the exploratory study with SPSS software. Then, the second was employed to the confirmatory part with the Amos software, as well as the validation of the hypotheses, and model with Fuzzy Set approach. The findings of this study have significant insights into the Saudi consumption and implications for both practitioners and researchers. Then, we have particularly strenuous on intention purchase antecedents of organic foods, and their consume habit moderation.
This study was conducted with the aim of providing the basic data for an informative and educational program designed to give a guideline how to keep and care the skin healthy and proper. Female freshmen, enrolled in colleges in Jeonbuk provincial area, were surveyed about their status of health and way of skin care and make-up. The results of research were summarized as follows: First, 268 students(65.4%) were 19 years old or younger. Among the respondents, 219 persons(54.4%) lived in small or medium cities and 271(66.1%) showed less than 20 of body mass index($kg/m^{2}$). Second, there were statistically significant correlations between dwelling place, drinking habit(p<0.05), and subjective health status(p<0.05) with health, skin care and make-up habit. Third, drinking, subjective health status appeared to be significant variables affecting facial skin(p<0.05) and health status(p<0.01), respectively. Forth, smoking and regular meal seemed to affect the length of make-up(p<.05) and smoking esd strongly connected with the extent of make-up. The way of thinking about cosmetics were affected by the habits of drinking(p<0.05) and smoking(p<0.01), respectively. Drinking habit was the significant variable of health affecting on the belief in the effect of cosmetics. Fifth, skin health was negatively correlated with drinking and smoking habits and positively with subjective health status, BMI($kg/m^{2}$) and frequency of make-up. Sixth, healthier state of facial skin appeared to be happened with statistical significance(p<0.01) in rural areas than in urban areas and with a person of higher than 20 of BMI($kg/m^{2}$) than of less than 20 from the regression analysis. It has been estimated that there were meaningful correlations between the status of health and make-up among female freshmen. Accordingly, the concept of health reinforcement can be adopted to skin care and skin maintenance, so various and comprehensive approaching methods were required to improve and reinforce the skin management and cosmetic culture.
This study was conducted to investigate the effect of two-year course of food and nutrition on improving nutrition knowledge, dietary attitudes and food habits of junior college female students by questionnaires. The subjects were 108 college female students enrolled in the department of food and nutrition in Gyeonggi area. The results were as follows: There were no significant changes in the weights and BMI (Body Mass Index) after 2-yr course of food and nutrition. Nutrition knowledge (14.7 vs 16.3, p < 0.001) and dietary attitude (34.3 vs 35.8, p < 0.01) increased significantly after 2-yr course. However, no significant changes in food habit were observed. Among nutrition knowledge, the scores of functions (4.5 vs 5.2, p < 0.001) and understanding (6.7 vs 7.4, p < 0.01) of nutrients were significantly increased. The recognition of nutrition knowledge increased significantly (83.1 vs 95.7, p < 0.001). Among food habit, dietary habit (13.2 vs 12.5, p < 0.01) and health related habit (15.6 vs 14.6, p < 0.001) were significantly lowered after 2-yr course. The change in dietary attitudes showed significantly positive correlation with food habit changes (p < 0.05). These results showed that 2-yr course of Food and Nutrition had improved the nutrition knowledge and dietary attitudes. Therefore, providing the more systematic and appropriate nutrition education to students during their study period will be improved dietary attitudes and food habits.
The purpose of this study is to investigate dietary pattern and health status related to food habit and degree of fatigue of evening college students. A sample of 476 evening college students in Chonbuk area were surveyed by questionaire examining their food habit, nutrient intakes, degree of fatigue and cornell Medical Index(CMI). In this study, the male and female students were classified into two groups, respectively, the first group is not having jobs and the second is having jobs. The results were summerized as follows: 1. Evaluation status of food habit score indicated that the subjects were included in Fair and Poor group generally. Food habit score of female was significantly higher than score of male. For female students, food habit score of job group was significantly higher than score of non-job group(p<0.05). 2. Average intakes of calorie and protein were 1869.1 kcal and 68.3 g in male and 1612.4 kcal and 58.3 g in female. Other nutrients, such as vitamin $B_1$(1.1 mg), vitamin $B_2$(1.2 mg) and ascorbic acid(41.0 mg) in male, iron(13.5 mg), vitamin $B_2$(1.1 mg) and ascorbic acid(46.5 mg) in female were lower than the korean RDA. 3. The means of degree of physical, mental, neurosensory and CMI scores were 3.1, 1.9, 1.5 and 4.7 in male and 4.0, 2.4, 2.4 and 7.1 in female, respectively. For female students, though significancy was found between job group and non-job group in physical, neurosensory fatigue and CMI score(p<0.05, 0.01), but there were not significant differences in these score for male students. 4. There were significant positive correlation between three types of fatigue and CMI, whereas score of food habit was negative correlation for degree of physical, mental fatigue and CMI. The intakes of protein and vitamin $B_1$ were significantly related to the mental, neurosensory fatigue and CMI.
This survey was conducted to compare food habit and food service satisfaction of high school students in urban and rural areas. The questionnaires were collected from 130 students in Daejeon and 140 in Geumsan. 19.8% of students skipped breakfast because of no time(48.7%), just habit(28.2%), no appetite(20.5%), for weight control(2.6%). The dietary behavior of rural students was better than city in taking snacks and light meal(p<0.05). For health they concerned highly about nutrition label expiration date of processed foods(72.3%) and least in considering nutrition than taste & price(37.9%). The satisfaction of food served was highest in nutrition(3.31), and taste(3.28), smell (3.23), color(3.03), temperature(3.02). The food service satisfaction of rural students was higher than city in proper temperature(p<0.001), nutrition(p<0.01), color(p<0.001). The satisfaction of rural students was higher than city in quantity of bap & side dishes, quality of food materials(p<0.001). The satisfaction of rural students was higher than city in convenience of dining hall, rapidity of food distribution, offer of nutrition information, sanitation of utensils & meals(p<0.001). It is suggested that school dietitian in city should be more concerned about sanitary food service based on students' dietary life & preference.
This study was conducted to investigate the dietary habits and assess the dietary intake of preschool children. Food habit, preference and nutritional supplement status were investigated using a questionnaire answered by the mothers of 453 subjects aged 3 to 6 years old. Also, a dietary intake survey using a 24-hour recall method was performed by mothers of the children. It was found that 81.2% of subjects had milk, dairy products, cookies, fruit and bread between meals once or twice per day. As well, 60.3% of subjects had an unbalanced diet and 20.7% had an overeating habit. Thus, unbalanced diet was a serious problem for many of the subjects. Due to weight controls, digestion problems and allergies, 11.7% of subjects had special dietary consideration. And 26.4% of subjects were using nutritional supplements. From the 24-recall survey, it was found that all nutrient intakes were higher than the Korean RDA except calcium and vitamin A. Nutrient intakes for protein, calcium, phosphorus and vitamin B2 were significantly different by sex, and also increased with age but not significantly. Children received 35% of daily energy, 44% of daily fat and 52% of daily calcium from snacks, so snacks clearly play an important role in dietary intake. The average number of foods consumed per day by subjects was 17.6 and that dishes was 11.0. Most children consumed 4 or 5 food groups per day. In conclusion, the dietary intake of children aged 3 to 6 were deemed adequate judging from nutrient intake and dietary diversity. More attention should be paid to the nutritional value of snacks in this age group.
This study was carried out to investigate the information concerning dietary patterns and analysis of the various factors that influence obesity. The subjects of this study were 1,020 middle and high school students in Seoul. Subjects were classified into under weight, normal weight and over weight group by body mass index. We investigated eating habits, life habits, food behavior and food consumption. Data were collected by questionnair and analysed with the SAS program. The results of this study way are summarized and concluded as fellows; In the case of dietary pattern, over weight group showed significantly higher in skipping a meal than the other group. Also over weight group tend to eat fast. There were significant differences of food intake frequency score by body mass index. From the results of factor analysis of variable related to obesity, 4 factors were generated and the factors were named 'Food behavior related to obesity', 'Snack consumption pattern', 'Life habit', 'Family environment related to food habit'. These factors were associated with obesity. To maintain nutritional balance and health, we should implement to ensure good dietary patterns.
Objective: This study was performed to identify the related factors of exercise injury throughout the actual cases among patients. Method: The subjects of the study consisted of 304 patients(209 male and 95 female) over 20's in seoul and kyonggi area, and data collected by using questionnaires were analyzed with SPSS/WIN 11.0 program. To prove the relative factors of exercise injury from hospital patients Results: 1) It was found that the general degree of exercise injury showed significant difference regarding gender, age and education level. In other words, if it was male, young and high school graduate, the portion of exercise injury for the person was higher than others. On the other hand, the duration of medical treatment for the patient, who is male, old and college graduate took longer than the others. 2) It demonstrated that the lower extremity was most intensively damaged due to the exercise injury, especially, knees and ankles had the most portion of exercise injury and a sprain was the most common form of exercise injury for these body parts. 3) The degree of exercise injury regarding of exercise maintains significant difference with the frequency of exercise. In fact, the more exercise was done by a person such as 3 to 4 days a week, the less duration of medical treatment for the person was taken. 4) It also showed that there was significant difference between the habit of exercise and the degree of exercise injury. In other words, a person had better exercise habit, it took the person less duration of medical treatment. As well, if someone had better warming up, he or she had lower degree of exercise injury after all. Conclusion: Consequently, according to the data, the research suggested that the male needed more carefulness than the female in exercise. Old age people needed to be more careful of getting sprain of knee and ankle in particular. As well, it concluded that people needed not only enough warming up before doing exercise but also positive habit of exercise in order to minimize the exercise injury.
