  • This study for‘Head Image’, which is affected by individual Image, is via fashion collection to analyze formative feature, fashion emotion and meaning structure of emotion and to inquire into correlation. I will offer fundamental data, which is can use Image making from the state of thing. First, to make charm and personal image, if we consider Head image well, it will very effective by the reason that personality and charm operate as important factors in fashion sensibility of Head Image. Second, we can know Head Image has more strong influence the part of emotion than fashion sensibility by showing that the sense of emotion is higher than this point of view of fashion sensibility in Head Image. Third, As a result of the correlation of fashion sensibility and emotion in Head Image, personal Head Image is effective to attract public gaze by causing negative emotion, and attractive Head Image is effective to give pleasant feeling by causing positive emotion. Forth, Avant-garde, Punk, Kitsch Image were estimated as the most personal things and Romantic, Ethnic Image were estimated as the most attractive things of the type of Head Image. Natural Image was estimated as the most feminine thing, and Elegant Image was estimated as the most mature thing. Fifth, when we look into the different appraisals between experts and amateurs about fashion sensibility and emotion of Head Image, a selection of experts are used to peculiar and strong Head Image, so amateurs respond it more sensitively and highly evaluate.

  • In this paper the intent recognition system which recognizes the human's head movements as a simple non-verbal intent representation is presented. The system recognizes five basic intent representations. i.e., strong/weak affirmation. strong/weak negation, and ambiguity by image processing of nodding or shaking movements of head. The vision system for tracking the head movements is composed of CCD camera, image processing board and personal computer. The modified template matching method which replaces the reference image with the searched target image in the previous step is used for the robust tracking of the head movements. For the improvement of the processing speed, the searching is performed in the pyramid representation of the original image. By inspecting the variance of the head movement trajectories. we can recognizes the two basic intent representations - affirmation and negation. Also, by focusing the speed of the head movements, we can see the possibility which recognizes the strength of the intent representation.

  • The purpose of this study was to examine interactive effect of wedding makeup, head dress, and perceiver's culture on bride's image perception. Image analysis was carried out by 10 photos which was designed for brides in their twenties with different makeup and head dress. Subjects were female university students in Seoul, Korea and 100 black female university students in Delaware, U.S. The result of study was as follows. Image perception by bride's makeup and head dress was classified as five dimensions: 'distinctive', 'tidy', 'elegant', 'soft', and 'beautiful'. There was a significant difference in image perception from culture and head dress. The result of interactive effect due to culture and makeup showed that Korean students perceived pink makeup as close to more elegant image, and American students felt orange makeup. We can know through above contents that there was significant difference in image perception by makeup and head dress between Korean and American students. Also, American students in general evaluated the photos (stimulus) presented positively compared to Korean students. This can be interpreted as a meaning that the degree to perceive each photos of American students was lower than Korean students.

  • This paper presents a new observation system which is useful to observe the scene of the remote controlled robot vision. This system is composed of a motionless camera and head motion detector with a motion sensor. The motionless camera has a fish eye lens and is for observing a hemisphere space. The head motion detector has a motion sensor is for defining an arbitrary subspace of the hemisphere space from fish eye lens. Thus processing the angular information from the motion sensor appropriately, the direction of face is estimated. However, since the fisheye image is distorted, it is unclear image. The partial domain of a fish eye image is selected by head motion, and this is converted to perspective image. However, since this conversion enlarges the original image spatially and is based on discrete data, crevice is generated in the converted image. To solve this problem, interpolation based on an intensity of the image is performed for the crevice in the converted image (space problem). This paper provides the experimental results of the proposed observation system with the head motion detector and perspective image conversion using the proposed conversion and interpolation methods, and the adequacy and improving point of the proposed techniques are discussed.

  • This paper presents a three-dimensional (3D) head pose estimation algorithm using the stereo image. Given a pair of stereo image, we automatically extract several important facial feature points using the disparity map, the gabor filter and the canny edge detector. To detect the facial feature region , we propose a region dividing method using the disparity map. On the indoor head & shoulder stereo image, a face region has a larger disparity than a background. So we separate a face region from a background by a divergence of disparity. To estimate 3D head pose, we propose a 2D-3D Error Compensated-SVD (EC-SVD) algorithm. We estimate the 3D coordinates of the facial features using the correspondence of a stereo image. We can estimate the head pose of an input image using Error Compensated-SVD (EC-SVD) method. Experimental results show that the proposed method is capable of estimating pose accurately.

  • Pig's original image data was transformed to a binary image, an image excluding head and tail portion from the whole binary image, and a projected image associated with pig's height. Then the length of body, width of shoulder, and area of pig were calculated and the relationships among the above characteristics and pig's weight were analyzed. The results obtained from this study were as follows: 1. Whole binary image data was considered to be improper to determine the pig's weight because the movement of pig's head and tail portion affected the image data. 2. Binary image data excluding head and tail portion from the whole binary image showed a better estimation of the pig's weight than the whole binary image. 3. Pig's should width was analyzed to be improper factor to determine the pig's weight. 4. The projected image associated with pig's height showed the highest correlation between the pig's area of the image and pig's weight(R2=0.9965). From this research the projected image associated with pig's height, which is excluding head and tail portion from the whole body of pig's image, was considered to be the prime factor to measure the pig's weight by the noncontact measurement.

  • Objectives : MR fluid-attenuated inversion recovery(FLAIR) image uses paired long inversion time and relaxation time that nulls the signal from CSF. With nulling of the CSF long echo time readout could be used to increase T2-weighting, hence improving the conspicuousness of most tissue lesions without the deleterious effects of CSF artifact seen on T2 weighted sequence. We examed the usefulness of FALIR image in the diagnosis of mild head injury. Methods : A total of 38 patients with mild head injury were examined by FLAIR image. We compared those images with CT scan and T1, T2-weighted images. Careful observation of MR images were done by two well-trained neuroradiologists. Each image was compared for conspicuousness and detectability of traumatic lesions might have shown abnormal signal intensities. The Wilcoxon signed ranks test was used for statistical evaluation. Results : The FLAIR image was significantly more sensitive than those of other images(p<0.001). T2 FFE(Fast Field Echo) image was more useful for detection of small petechial hemorrhages. Conclusion : FLAIR image is considered to be more sensitive than those of conventional MR images in the evaluation of mild head injuries.

  • As society develops, the importance of safety for individuals and facilities in public places is getting higher. Not only the areas such as the existing parking lot, bank and factory which require security or crime prevention but also individual houses as well as general institutions have the trend to increase investment in guard and security. This study suggests face feature extract and the method to simply divide face region and head region that are import for face recognition by using color transform. First of all, it is to divide face region by using color transform of Y image of YIQ image and head image after dividing head region with K image among CMYK image about input image. Then, it is to extract features of face by using labeling after Log calculation to head image. The clearly divided head and face region can easily classify the shape of head and face and simply find features. When the algorism of the suggested method is utilized, it is expected that security related facilities that require importance can use it effectively to guard or recognize people.

  • Purpose : To evaluate the usefulness of the handmade patient immobilization device and to report the clinical results of it. Materials and methods : We made two fusion images and analyzed those images. One image is made with diagnostic MR image and CT image, the other with therapeutic planning MR image and CT image. With open head holder, we measured the skin dose and attenuation dose. Also, we made the planning CT couch plate with acrylic plate and styrofoam and compared artifact. Results : We could get more accurate fusion image when we use MR head holder(within 2mm error). The skin dose was reduced 2 times and the attenuation dose was reduced more than $20\%$ when open head holder used. The planning CT couch plate was more convenient than conventional board and reduced artifact remarkably. Conclusion : We could verify the localization point in the MR image which is taken with MR head holder. So we could fuse the image more accurately. The same method could be applied to PET and US image, if the alike immobilization device used. With open head holder, the skin dose and the attenuation dose was reduced. And those above devices could substitute for expensive foreign device, if those are manufactured adequately.

  • In this paper, we proposed the new segmentation method of optic nerve head and optic cub to consider the depth of optic nerve head on stereo fundus image. We analyzed the error factor of stereo matching on stereo fundus image, and compensated them. For robust extraction of optic nerve head and optic cub, we proposed the modified active contour model to consider the 3D depth of optic nerve head. As experiment result to various stereo fundus images, we confirmed that proposed method can segment optic nerve head and optic cup effectively.
