공업고등학교 용접실습실의 용접흄 발생농도와 국소배기 실태 (Status of Welding Fume Concentration and Local exhaust Ventilation System at Welding Laboratory in Technical High School)

  • This study was performed to evaluate a local exhaust ventilation system capability and welding fume concentration in welding laboratory at 5 technical high schools. Results of the study are as follows; 1. The personal exposure of welding fume in welding laboratory was measured. The geometric mean of 73 personal samples was $6.27mg/m^3$($3.85{\sim}9.88mg/m^3$), and 68.5% of these exceeded TLV of the Korea Ministry of Labor. 2. The geometric mean of welding fume at outside of booth was $2.27mg/m^3$($1.57{\sim}2.58mg/m^3$). All of measured concentrations were lower than TLV of the Korea Ministry of Labor. 3. Local exhaust ventilation system in welding laboratory could not remove hazardous substance effectively because of inappropriate canopy hood and absurd design. 4. The possibility of exposure risk was estimated to be high because of working point under breathing zone, misplacement of working table and insufficient supply of respiratory protector. 5. The mean values of capture velocity and transportation velocity of local exhaust ventilation system in welding laboratory were 0.38m/sec, 4.27m/sec respectively. These values were satisfied the guideline of the Korea Ministry of Labor. 6. The efficiency of performance of local ventilation system was anticipated to be decreased because of accumulated dust and alien substance on fan and duct.

  • Ozonic use of sterilization and heat treatment of raw material to extend the conservation period of food recently is increased by hard vegetable or microorganism sterilization purpose of fruit. If ozone can create as is easy comparatively because do air or oxygen by raw material and schedule period passes, there is advantage that do not leave the second contaminant because being gotten restored by oxygen. Also, because the effect is big to decolorization beside sterilization effect about microorganism, deodorization, disjointing of venomousness hazardous substance, food save, indoor air purge, good hand processing, hydrospace agricultural chemicals processing etc. the use extent is wide. This research ran parallel a sterilization experiment of E.coli colitis germs by ozone that manufacture ozonizer that use doped diamond maund electrode (BDD) by boron and searched special quality electrochemistry enemy of the ozonizer and is created. E.coli. After cultivate E.coli colitis germs during 37C 1 day is LB ship, after do ozonation, was sterilized more than 90% by ozone as result that examine sterilizing power by substance microscope and could confirm excellency of diamond electrode.

미량 및 신종유해물질의 국내 방류 환경에서의 위해성 평가: 환경부 지정 1순위 80종 대상으로 (Risk Assessment of Micro and Emerging Contaminants in Domestic Effluent Environment: Targeting on 80 First-class substances assigned by Ministry of Environment)

  • In 2018, total 263 micro and emerging contaminants were selected as target substances by the Ministry of Environment, and 80 of them were first-class substance including endocrine disruptors, residual Pharmaceuticals and Personal Care Products (PPCPs), residual organic pollutants, pesticides and heavy metals. In this study, in order to evaluate the Hazard Quotient (HQ) of the 80 types in the domestic water environment the concentration of discharged effluent and nearby water environment reported by Korean institutes since 2010 was investigated. There were 45 substances reported to be detected, and Measurement Environment Concentration (MEC) were obtained by collectively converting them into water environment concentration. For biotoxicity, half maximal Effective Dose (EC50) to Daphnia magna, a water fleas species widely adopted in Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS) was applied. As for the biotoxicity level, the Predicted No-Effect Concentration (PNEC) was obtained by applying the Assessment Factor (AF) and the HQ was derived by dividing it from the MEC. As a result of calculating the HQ, more than 1 substances were Cabamazepine, Mefenamic acid, Acetaminophen, Ibuprofen, Nonylphenol, Nickel, Erythromycin, Acetylslic acid, etc. Meanwhile, perfluorinated compounds were identified as hazardous substances in the water env ironment, with 5 out of 14 species included in the 20 ranks of first-class substance.

어린이 주요활동공간 중 소규모학원 내 유해물질 노출 평가 (Exposure Assessment of Hazardous Substances in Small Academy of Children's Activity Zones)

  • Objectives: This study was conducted to identify hazardous factors that reflect the characteristics of the academy and to provide basic data of environmental safety standard. Methods: Heavy metals, volatile organic compounds, formaldehyde, pesticides and phthalates were measured in 20 academies, which were supplementary, music, art and physical education institutes. Results: In case of heavy metals, the 12 locations were detected for lead (Pb) over the standard value, and 15 locations were exceeded for the total heavy metal. In six locations, the concentrations of volatile organic compounds were exceeded the standard value of $400{\mu}g/m^3$, and two locations for formaldehyde were exceeded the standard value of $100{\mu}g/m^3$. The most commonly detected agents in the air dust were chlorpyrifos and diazinon. The concentrations of DEHP, DINP, and DBP were detected and exceeded in several academies, The risk assessment results showed that HCHO as carcinogen had a safety level of 10-7 to 10-6, and DEHP and DINP as non-carcinogens had a safety level as assessed to be under than 0.1. Conclusions: Through the investigation of long-term environmental and health effects related laws on academies, indoor air quality management might be needed because there were cases of exceeding standard.

국내 도료 및 제철·제강산업 발생 폐기물 중 잔류성 유기오염물질류의 함량 특성 -PCDD/DFs, PAHs, PCBs- (Content characteristics of persistent organic pollutants waste from paint, iron making and steel making process)

  • 본 연구는 [지정폐기물 중 신규유해물질 항목설정 및 시험방법 확립에 관한 연구]에 선정된 우선관리대상 미규제 유기물질 3종(PCDD/DFs, PAHs, PCBs)에 대해 효과적인 관리를 위하여 수행하였다. 국립환경과학원에서 제시된 함량시험법에 따라 분석하였으며, 폐유기용제, 폐페인트, 분진이 포함된 도료 및 제철 제강공정에서 발생하는 폐기물을 대상으로 함량을 결정하였다. GC/MSD를 이용한 PAHs 7종을 조사한 결과, 나프탈렌(N.D~1631.33 mg/kg)이 검출되었다. 폐유기용제와 폐페인트의 나프탈렌 결과 값은 해양배출처리기준을 초과하는 것으로 조사되었다. PCB 7종에 대해 함량 분석값은 전부 불검출로 나타났다. PCDD/DFs 분석결과, 바젤협약 기술지침서의 low POP 기준에 부합한 것으로 조사되었다. 10공정(빌렛, 불룸)에서 배출되는 분진 시료에서 PCDD/DFs의 함량 결과는 N.D~5.66 ng I-TEQ/g으로 조사되었다.

반응 위험성분석 및 사고방지를 위한 스마트 합성경로 탐색시스템 (Smart Synthetic Path Search System for Prevention of Hazardous Chemical Accidents and Analysis of Reaction Risk)

  • 연구실 실험, 파일럿 플랜트 및 반응기 운전 중 화학물질에 의한 안전사고가 발생하고 있다. 합성 실험을 시작하기전 사고예방을 위해 관련 정보들을 찾아볼 필요가 있으며, 공정설계 단계에서도 반응 폭주 예방을 위한 반응정보의 확보는 필수적이다. 합성반응 관련 정보는 인터넷을 포함해 다양한 source가 존재하지만, 검색에 오랜 시간이 걸리고, 합성법마다 사용되는 물질도 달라 적정경로 선택의 어려움이 있다. 연구자들의 합성경로 검색시간단축과 합성 시 존재할 수 있는 위험성 및 중간생성물질들의 확인에 도움을 주고자 본 연구는 스마트 합성경로 탐색시스템을 제안하였다. 제안한 탐색시스템은 Python 패키지인 Selenium을 사용한 Web scraping 및 Web crawling을 통해 인터넷에 존재하는 정보를 수집하여 DB를 자동으로 갱신한다. 경로 탐색 알고리즘은 depth-first search에 기반하여 목표 물질을 기준으로 탐색을 진행하고, 유해화학물질 등급, 수율 등을 구분하여, 제한된 경로 단계 수치내에 있는 모든 합성 경로를 제안한다. 또한 각자의 연구 목적에 맞게 연구원들이 가진 비공개 데이터를 형식을 맞춰 DB에 등록하여 확장할 수 있다. 시스템은 차후에 무료 사용이 가능하도록 open source로 공개할 예정이다. 개발 시스템은 연구자들이 제안된 경로를 참고하여 더 안전한 반응 방법을 찾고, 사고의 예방에도 도움을 줄 것으로 기대된다.

완구제품에 함유된 유해물질 및 관리방안에 대한 연구 (A Study on the Toys Assessment of Harmful Substances and Control)

  • This study is to investigate and compare domestic hazardous toys with harmful substances with foreign toys so that we can find out management criteria for in cognitive infants. Actually, commercially used toys have been collected and tested to find out more effective management standard. it is tried to produce evaluation criteria of environmentally harmful substance but variety of product is needed for overcoming actual barrier due to lot of difficulty huge cost, time, objectiveness. Therefore, This study does not cover all the above. Establishment of evaluation criteria for product harmfulness made by Government or Local government should be continued to improve. Foreign reference material for toy product in Europe, USA, Japan have been investigated and domestic product have been collected and tested for containing heavy metals, formaldehyde, phthalate in the study. All the test have been made in accordance with KSM ISO 2124 to measure heavy metal transfer into body. Toy product used for the study have been purchased in the real market and some of them contains harmful elements with over standard. Post management system such as RAPEX to control periodically should be established for plastic toy with low quality product.

Treatment of cutting-oily wastewater by electrocoagulation-flotation (ECF) process: Modeling approach

  • This work aims to investigate the oily wastewater treatment by the electrocoagulation-flotation (ECF) and propose a mathematical model for the efficiency prediction. Cutting oil was used to prepare the synthetic oily wastewater with submicron droplet sizes. The chemical coagulation by aluminium sulfate was firstly tested following by the electrocoagulation-flotation with aluminium electrodes. Both processes gave the effective treatment performance with the efficiencies higher than 90%. However, the ECF consumed less aluminium dosage as well as produced less sludge, which were its advantage on the chemical coagulation. The performance of the ECF was found to be affected by the current density, oil concentration, and reaction time according to the analysis by the design of experiment (DOE). Finally, the prediction model was proposed by two approaches, including linear and logarithm function. The latter model gave more accuracy prediction results in terms of treatment efficiency and duration in the lag and stable stages.

노말프로판올과 아세틱에씨드 계의 최소자연발화온도(AIT) 측정 및 예측 (Measurement and Prediction of Autoignition Temperature(AIT) of n-Propanol and Acetic acid System)

  • The autoignition temperature (AIT) is crucial combustible characteristics which need attention in chemical process that handle hazardous materials. The AIT, also to as minimum spontaneous ignition temperature(MSIT), is the lowest temperature of a hot surface at which the substance will spontaneously ignite without any obvious sources of ignition such as a spark or flame. The AIT may be used as combustion property to specify operating, storage, and materials handling procedures for process safety. This study measured the AITs of n-propanol+acetic acid system from ignition delay time(time lag) by using ASTM E659 apparatus. The AITs of n-propanol and acetic acid which constituted binary system were $435^{\circ}C$ and $212^{\circ}C$, respectively. The experimental AITs of n-propanol+acetic acid system were a good agreement with the calculated AITs by the proposed equations with a few A.A.D.(average absolute deviation). In the case of n-propanol and acetic acid system, the minimum autoignition temperature behavior (MAITB), which is lower than the lower AIT, is shown among the two pure substances constituting the mixture.
