  • In this paper, the even harmonic current(2nd, 4th, 6th, 8th) of the arc fault current and normal current were measured in computer load and analyzed. The BPF with GIC was developed to detection of harmonic, the exact center frequency and a high degree of sharpness could be easily obtained. The total even harmonic distortion due to series arc fault in computer load was 31.2%, this value was increased 3.9 times better than the total even harmonic distortion of normal current. The results of analysis of arc fault current RMS variation rate and Peak variation rate per half-cycle, The RMS average variation rate are as follows ; the 2nd harmonic was 0.24, the 4th harmonic was 0.15, the 6th harmonic was 0.19, the 8th harmonic was 0.25, respectively. The Peak average variation rate are as follows ; the 2nd harmonic was 0.19, the 4th harmonic was 0.12, the 6th harmonic was 0.13, the 8th harmonic was 0.15, respectively. The results of this analysis utilize data to detect of series arc fault on wiring of computer load.

  • Harmonic/inter-harmonic detection and analysis is an important issue in power system signal processing. This paper proposes a fast algorithm based on matching pursuit (MP) sparse signal decomposition, which can be employed to extract the harmonic or inter-harmonic components of a distorted electric voltage/current signal. In the MP iterations, the method extracts harmonic/inter-harmonic components in order according to the spectrum peak. The Fast Fourier Transform (FFT) and nonlinear optimization techniques are used in the decomposition to realize fast and accurate estimation of the parameters. First, the frequency estimation value corresponding to the maxim spectrum peak in the present residual is obtained, and the phase corresponding to this frequency is searched in discrete sinusoids dictionary. Then the frequency and phase estimations are taken as initial values of the unknown parameters for Nelder-Mead to acquire the optimized parameters. Finally, the duration time of the disturbance is determined by comparing the inner products, and the amplitude is achieved according to the matching expression of the harmonic or inter-harmonic. Simulations and actual signal tests are performed to illustrate the effectiveness and feasibility of the proposed method.

  • For the rotation-invariant pattern recognition, we propose multiple circular harmonic filter which is expanded about the proper center. The proper centerm when input image is given, is the circular harmonic expansion center of the filter which yields a maximum center correlation peak in the output plane. In this paper, we founded the circular harmonic components that the proper center superposes on the same position and then designed multiple circular harmonic filter using these components. Also the proposed filter is compared with conventional multiple circular harmonic filter and shows that it can maximize the center correlation peak for the rotated input image by the computer simulation.

  • The simulation results of the third harmonic conversion with 1.064 um Nd :YAG laser using polarization mismatch method are reported. The third harmonic conversion efficiency was over 65% for the Gaussian incident pulse of $300{\sim}400MW/cm^2$ peak intensity, and over 80% for $3{\sim}4GW/cm^2$ peak intensity pulse. The dependence of the third harmonic conversion efficiency' on the variation of incident polarization angle ${\theta}_p$ and angular discrepancy ${\Delta}{\theta}$ of phase matched angle ${\theta}_m$ is discussed.

  • A reset-free anti-harmonic programmable multiplying delay-locked loop (MDLL) that provides flexible integer clock multiplication for high performance clocking applications is presented. The proposed MDLL removes harmonic locking problems by utilizing a simple harmonic lock detector and control logic, which allows this MDLL to change the input clock frequency and multiplication factor during operation without the use of start-up circuitry and external reset. A programmable voltage controlled delay line (VCDL) is utilized to achieve a wide operating frequency range from 80 MHz to 1.2 GHz with a multiplication factor of 4, 5, 8, 10, 16 and 20. This MDLL achieves a measured peak-to-peak jitter of 20 ps at 1.2 GHz.

  • NDVI(Normalized Difference Vegetation Index), which is broadly used as short-term data composite, is an important parameter for climate change and long-term land surface monitoring. Although atmospheric correction is performed, NDVI dramatically appears several low peak noise in the long-term time series. They are related to various contaminated sources, such as cloud masking problem and wet ground condition. This study suggests a simple method through harmonic analysis for reducing NDVI noise using SPOT/VGT NDVI 10-day MVC data. The harmonic analysis method is compared with the polynomial regression method suggested previously. The polynomial regression method overestimates the NDVI values in the time series. The proposed method showed an improvement in NDVI correction of low peak and overestimation.

  • This paper describes new harmonic disturbance compensation based on a peak filter array for Hard Disk Drives. Unlike a conventional method, the proposed method does not require any sin/cos functions or tables and reduces effects of all harmonic disturbances within a nyquist frequency. Two factors are introduced to parameterize stability and a gain tune. In addition, it is verified that the order of the proposed filter is minimal. From 600 experimental results, 8.5% performance improvement is achieved.

  • The delta modulation used for controlling the speed of an induction motor has high peak of harmonic spectrum at low speed range causing acoustic noises in the induction motor. This paper proposes to suppress the harmonics by synchronizing the reference signal with the hysteresis windows for controlling the distribution of the switching frequency. As a result we can decrease the peak of harmonic spectrum. The simulation results show that the peak spectrum of harmonics can be reduced up to 60%.

  • A new single-stage flyback power converter with PFC for electrolytic capacitor-less LED driver is proposed in this study. This method minimizes the peak-to-average ratio of the LED driving pulsating current by adding the LED driving current near the LED current valley area, as well as the third harmonic component injection into the input current. The reduced peak current value of the LED drive current minimizes the thermal stress of the LED itself, thereby increasing the reliability of the LED, as well as achieving a long lifetime. Simulation and experimental results show the usefulness of the proposed topology.

  • Surface roughness of cold rolled steel sheet as well as the coating technique itself is quite important in obtaining high image clarity of electronic products and car outer panels. Especially, surface characteristics of steel sheet have acquired increasing attention from the steel and automotive industries. While the influence of such characteristics on paintability formability and painted surface appearance is important in defining steel surface requirements for automotive industries. Therefore this paper is dedicated primarily to the issue of paint appearance and reviews for improvement of roughness and peak count about the surface of work roll for the actual temper mill. The conclusions were obtained as follows ; 1) Roughness and peak count about the surface of steel sheet is strongly affected by surface condition of work roll. 2) The electro-discharge textured roll has more uniform roughness distribution than shot blasted roll and it's painted appearance of steel sheet has more improvement than that of the shot blasted because it has more harmonic wave roughness, and the higher peak count of surface roughness.
