Motion Estimation Algorithm to Guarantee Hard Realtime Operation (경성 실시간 동작을 보장하는 움직임 추정 알고리즘)

  • This paper proposes a motion estimation algorithm with run-time adaptive workload control. It has optimized performance within limited hardware resources while guaranteeing hard realtime operation. It performs maximum searches within hard realtime constraints, since it determines search steps and workload adaptively. It reduces the hardware size to 1/4~1/400 of conventional algorithms, while its PSNR degradation is only 0.02~0.44 dB. It can be easily applied to most conventional fast algorithms, so it is useful to design realtime encoder chips.

  • Personal Robot System in developing, have a module architecture, each module are connected through variety network system like ethernet, WLAN (802.11), IEEE 1394 (firewire), bluetooth, CAN, or RS-232C. In developing personal robot system. We think that the key of robot performance is interoperablity among modules. Each network protocol are well connected in the view of network system for the interoperability. So we make a bridging architecture that can routing converting, and transporting packets with matching each network's properties. Furthermore, we suggest a advanced design scheme for realtime / non-realtime and control signal (short, requiring hard-realtime) / multimedia data (large, requiring soft-realtime).

  • In case of high speed and high mobility multibody tracked vehicle, it is hard to develop the realtime simulation model for track tension control because of the hundreds of highly nonlinear equations. In order to design more trustworthy realtime simulator for track tension control, it is necessary to use off-line tracked vehicle model. In this study, a step by step procedure is presented to develop realtime simulation model based on off-line tracked vehicle model. Simulation results show that modified off-line multibody tracked vehicle model can be used for real time simulation to control the track tension.

In developing personal robot system we think that the key of robot performance is interoperability among modules. By some application systems, we could test performance, interoperability and stability. In this paper, we show our design concept, middleware architecture, and some applications systems using this middleware.

  • In this paper, the new scheme using a Combined Cache(CC) that combing the Paging and Routing Cache(PRC) and an alternative handoff method according to the type of data transmission for achieving the efficient realtime communication. The PRC and quasi-soft handoff method reduce the path duplication. But they increase the network traffic load because of the handoff state packet of Mobile Host(MH). Moreover the use the same handoff method without differentiating the type of transmission data. Those problems are solved by operating U with a semi-soft handoff method for realtime data transmission and with a hard handoff method for non-realtime data transmission. As a result or simulation a better performance is obtained because of the reduction of the number of control packet in case that the number of cells are below 20. And the packet arrival time and loss of packet decreased significantly for realtime data transmission.

  • Pine Wilt Disease (Bursaphelenchus Xylophilus) has been attacked since 1988, then it becomes very serious problem of the all over the country. Government has been invested a lot of money to prevent but it is hard to survey the damaged area and ineffectively control the process of prevention. Therefore, this study is focused on development of Pine Wilt Disease (Bursaphelenchus Xylophilus) Prevention System using GIS and GPS through constructiong database of digital map, satellite imagery and attribute data and development component for desktop PC, internet and mobile system to realtime data transmission between project manager and field worker. Especially, we developed the mobile system that can transmit field conditions in realtime using GPS, GIS and CCD camera, the telecommunication control server that transmit received field condition data to web connecting module and system manager, the web system for end user to notify prevention details, the control system lot manager to recognize filed conditions and to control field workers and the wireless telecommunication module to connect in realtime between field and control center.

  • The sheet metal shearing process is normally used in the precision elements such as semi-conductor components. In precision elements, burrs usually reduce the quality of machined parts and cause interference, jamming and misalignment during assembly procedures and because of their sharpness, they can be safety hazard to personnel. Furthermore, not only burrs are hard to predict and avoid, but also deburring, the process of removing burrs, is time-consuming and costly. In order to get the burr-free parts, therefore, we developed the precise burr measuring system using the laser. Using the X-Y precious table, we used vertical measuring method. Through the laser measurement system, we gain the minute analog signal, so this signal was amplified by the electric circuit. Finally, we gained the realtime burr data using A/D converter, PC. By introducing the novel laser measuring method which employing vertical measurement mechanism, we could get fast and precious burr data. Through the experiments, the accuracy of the developed system is proved. The burr height measured during the punching process can be used for automatic deburring and in-situ aligning.

  • A wireless bridge is essential to transmit control and managing information to sensors or instruments from a central integrated ship area network station. In this paper, a WiMedia Distributed-MAC(D-MAC) protocol is adopted for development of a seamless N-Screen wireless service in Indoor and Ship Area Networks. Furthermore, to provide the OSMU(One Source Multi Use) N-screen service through P2P streaming in the seamless D-MAC protocol, a Dynamic Threshold-based Multicast(DTM) technology is proposed and analyzed. For this technology, a new Hard/Soft Vertical Region(HVR-SVR) based time slot allocation and a multicast resource reservation scheme are combined. From simulation results, proposed DTM scheme expands the number of time slots available for unicast and multicast realtime N-Screen reservations with various service time interval requests. Furthermore, it enhances performances in vewpoints of realtime N-Screen data reservation conflict and throughput.

  • The growth of mobile devices and the increase of using them have required the support of realtime multimedia application in wireless environments. Especially, wireless ad-hoc networks without central management system and with dynamically changing network topology need much researches of QoS routing for multimedia applications. However it is impossible to support the hard realtime QoS for these dynamic networks. In this paper, we propose a QoS routing scheme by using QoS DAG that is maintained by each mobile node and contains the QoS information for neighbor nodes. In order to maintain the QoS DAG, each node transmits its QoS information to neighbor nodes by local broadcasting, and the neighbor nodes update their QoS DAGs by the received message. In our proposed scheme, it is possible to search the QoS path efficiently by the QoS DAG without searching it in the whole network.

Determination of Bridge Scour Depth Considering Flow Conditions and Bed Characteristics (흐름특성과 하상특성을 동시에 고려한 교량세굴심 산정에 관한 연구)

  • In this study, a realtime bridge scour monitoring system was installed and operated to measure the real scour depths in relatively hard and rocky bottom. And riverbed change at before and after flood was investigated by GPR(Ground Penetrating Radar) to check the rationality of measured values. As the result of this study, it was revealed the inaccuracy of equilibrium scour depth estimation through the bridge scout equations because most of the equations do not reflect the differences of geological characteristics, evaluated the real scour depths considering both bed and flow conditions.
