  • Electric Power Steering (EPS) mechanism has become widely equipped in passenger vehicle due to the environmental consciousness and higher fuel efficiency. This paper describes the development of co-simulation technique and simulation integration technique of EPS control system with dynamic vehicle model. A full vehicle model interacted with EPS control algorithm is concurrently simulated on a single bump road condition. Dynamic responses of vehicle chassis and steering system resulting from road surface impact are evaluated and compared with proving ground experimental data. The comparisons will show reasonable agreement on tie-rod load. rack displacement, handle-wheel torque and tire center acceleration. This developed simulation capability can be used for EPS performance evaluation and calibration as well as for vehicle handling performance integration and synthesis.

Integration of Single-Cell RNA-Seq Datasets: A Review of Computational Methods

  • With the increased number of single-cell RNA sequencing (scRNA-seq) datasets in public repositories, integrative analysis of multiple scRNA-seq datasets has become commonplace. Batch effects among different datasets are inevitable because of differences in cell isolation and handling protocols, library preparation technology, and sequencing platforms. To remove these batch effects for effective integration of multiple scRNA-seq datasets, a number of methodologies have been developed based on diverse concepts and approaches. These methods have proven useful for examining whether cellular features, such as cell subpopulations and marker genes, identified from a certain dataset, are consistently present, or whether their condition-dependent variations, such as increases in cell subpopulations in particular disease-related conditions, are consistently observed in different datasets generated under similar or distinct conditions. In this review, we summarize the concepts and approaches of the integration methods and their pros and cons as has been reported in previous literature.

  • 현대의 고성능 전투기에 탑재되어 있는 전기식 비행제어계통(Digital Fly-By-Wire Flight Control System)은 통합 다기능 감지기(IMFP : Integrated Multi-Function Probe)에 의해 항공기의 고도/속도/받음각 정보를 얻는다. T-50에 적용되어 있는 3개의 IMFP는 3중 결함 및 분리되지 않는 2중 결함에 대해서 비행 안정성(Flight Stability)을 확보하기 위해 형상 재구성 모드(Air Data Reconfiguration Mode)를 제어법칙에 적용했다. 본 논문에서는 항공기 운용 시 발생할 수 있는 IMFP 결함으로 인한 형상 재구성 모드 제어법칙에 대해, 비행 안정성을 해석하기 위하여 선형해석(Linear Analysis) 및 HQS( Handling Quality Simulator) 조종사 시뮬레이션을 수행하였고, T-50 비행시험 시, 발생했던 IMFP 결함으로 인해 제어법칙이 형상 재구성 모드로 적용되었던 사례를 제시했다. 그 결과, T-50 훈련기의 제어법칙이 형상 재구성 모드로 전환될 경우, 항공기 안정성에는 영향이 없다는 것을 알았다.

3차원 생물체 가시화 모델 구축장치 개발 및 성능평가 (Development and Evaluation of System for 3D Visualization Model of Biological Objects)

  • Nondestructive methods such as ultrasonic and magnetic resonance imaging systems have many advantages but still much expensive. And they do not give exact color information and may miss some details. If it is allowed to destruct a biological object to obtain interior and exterior informations, 3D image visualization model from a series of sliced sectional images gives more useful information with relatively low cost. In this paper, a PC based automatic 3D visualization system is presented. The system is composed of three modules. The first module is the handling and image acquisition module. The handling module feeds and slices a cylindrical shape paraffin, which holds a biological object inside the paraffin. And the paraffin is kept being solid by cooling while being handled. The image acquisition modulo captures the sectional image of the object merged into the paraffin consecutively. The second one is the system control and interface module, which controls actuators for feeding, slicing, and image capturing. And the last one is the image processing and visualization module, which processes a series of acquired sectional images and generates a 3D volumetric model. To verify the condition for the uniform slicing, normal directional forces of the cutting edge according to the various cutting angles were measured using a strain gauge and the amount of the sliced chips were weighed and analyzed. Once the 3D model was constructed on the computer, user could manipulate it with various transformation methods such as translation, rotation, and scaling including arbitrary sectional view.

경수로 사용후핵연료 수중 낙하 충돌 속도의 이론적 평가 (Theoretical Estimation of the Impact Velocity during the PWR Spent Fuel Drop in Water Condition)

  • 저장조에 위치한 사용후핵연료는 가혹한 원자로 조건에 의해 구조적 건전성이 와해되므로 외력에 취약하다. 따라서 운반 및 취급 중 사고 상황이 고려되어야 한다. 극단적인 경우, 핵연료 취급 중 사고로 인해 핵연료 저장조에서 핵연료집합체 낙하가 발생할 수 있다. 이러한 사고 상황 하에서 연료봉 파손 등을 평가하기 위해서 수조에 충돌할 때 발생하는 충돌력을 분석할 필요가 있다. 이는 핵연료가 수조 바닥에 충돌할 때의 속도를 입력으로 하여 평가될 수 있다. 연료봉이 핵연료 중량 및 부피의 대부분을 차지하고 있으므로, 연료봉 다발은 수중 항력을 예측하는데 중요한 역할을 한다고 볼 수 있다. 본 연구에서는 $3{\times}3$ 의 짧은 연료봉 다발을 모델로 사용하여 수중에서 낙하할 때 받는 수력을 계산하였고, 이를 전산모사와의 비교를 통하여 검증하였다. 본 방법론을 사용후핵연료 건전성 평가에 적용할 수 있을 것으로 기대된다.

  • 최근 우리나라의 해상에서는 육상과 섬 또는 섬과 섬을 연결하는 해상교량이 건설 중이거나 건설 예정이다. 선박의 통항로에 해상교량이 설치되면 선박통항의 안전성은 당연히 위해가 되지만, 국가 및 지역의 경제발전을 위해서 설치가 불가피한 경우도 있다. 이러한 선박통항 안전성과 지역 경제성 간에 트레이트 오프(trade off) 관계가 있는 해상교량을 설치하기 위해서는, 선박통항 안전성 면에서 고려되어야 할 요소를 해상교통공학적인 측면에서 조사ㆍ검토하고, 그 요소들을 평가하여 교통 흐름을 원활하게 하고 해역의 안전을 보장하기 위한 것이 이 연구의 목적이다. 주교각폭이 넓은 교량을 설치하면 선박의 통항 안전성 측면에서는 유리하겠지만, 지형적인 영향이나 경제성 측면 때문에 충분한 항로폭을 확보할 수 없는 경우도 있을 수 있다. 따라서 이 논문에서는 해상교통류 시뮬레이션 기법을 이용하여 선박통항의 안전성을 확보하기 위한 통항량 규제와 같은 대안을 검토한다.

동계 북태평양을 항행하는 대형선박의 황천피항조선에 관한 연구 (A Study on the VLCC's Handling to Avoid Heavy Weather ofthe North Pacific in Winter.)

  • In the North Pacific Ocean a lot of large waves set up in winter, affected by continued winds and swells owing to severe extratropical cyclones. Under this sea condition, if the ship is about 100,000L/T (in deadweight capacity tonnage), we can't find the danger involved in the ship at sea apparently. But when we compare the seaworthiness of ship's building strength with the stress given to the hull by waves, we can't insist that the former be more stronger than the latter. As a result, VLCC is in danger of destroying and cutting for lack of longitudinal strength in heavy weather. Up to this time, Naval Architects have actively studied the relation between ship's longitudinal strength and waves as a ship's projector; however, actually, they have never made more profound study on the problem of longitudinal strength in relation to navigation. The main puprpose of this thesis is to clarify these vivid actual states of ship's trouble unknown to ship's masters. In this thesis we picked up VLCC Pan Yard, a vessel of Pan Ocean Bulk Carrier company's, as a model ship. And in the North Pacific Ocean, we have chosen for this research the basins where the wind speed and the wave height are greater than average. The data used this thesis are quotes from the "winds and waves of the North Pacific Ocean('64-'73)", and wind speed more than 30 knots was made use of as an ocject of this study. By usinh the ITTC wave spectrum, we found out the significant waves for every 5 knots within the range of 20 knots to 45 knots of wind speed. According to this H1/1000 was calculated. The stress of ship's hull is determined by ship's speed and wave height. We compared the ship's longitudinal strength with a planned wave height by rules of several famous classification societies in the world. In the last analysis, we found out that ship's present planned strength in heavy weather is not enough. Finally we made a graph for avoiding heavy weather, with which we studied safe ship's handling in the North pacafic Ocean in winter.

Sweet BV 시술이 Rat의 중추신경계에 미치는 영향 - 기능관찰 종합평가를 이용하여- (Effects of Sweet Bee Venom on the Central Nervous System in Rats -using the Functional Observational Battery-)

  • Objectives: This study was performed to analyse the effects of Sweet Bee Venom(Sweet BV-pure melittin, the major component of honey bee venom) on the central nervous system in rats. Methods: All experiments were conducted at Biotoxtech Company, a non-clinical studies authorized institution, under the regulations of Good Laboratory Practice (GLP). Male rats of 5 weeks old were chosen for this study and after confirming condition of rats was stable, Sweet BV was administered in thigh muscle of rats. And checked the effects of Sweet BV on the central nervous system using the functional observational battery (FOB), which is a neuro-toxicity screening assay composed of 30 descriptive, scalar, binary, and continuous endpoints. And home cage observations, home cage removal and handling, open field activity, sensorimotor reflex test/physiological measurements were conducted. Results: 1. In the home cage observation, there was not observed any abnormal signs in rats. 2. In the observation of open field activity, the reduction of number of unit areas crossed and rearing count was observed caused by Sweet BV treatment. 3. In the observation of handling reactivity, there was not observed any abnormal signs in rats. 4. In the observation of sensorimotor reflex tests/physiological measurements, there was not observed any neurotoxic signs in rats. 5. In the measurement of rectal temperature, treatment of Sweet BV did not showed great influences in the body temperature of rats. Conclusions: Above findings suggest that Sweet BV is relatively safe treatment in the central nervous system. But in the using of over dose, Sweet BV may the cause of local pain and disturbance of movement. Further studies on the subject should be conducted to yield more concrete evidences.

허리굽힘과 다리자세가 작업지속시간에 미치는 영향에 관한 연구 (Effect of Trunk Flexion and Low Extremity Posture on Maximum Holding Time)

  • Despite most of tasks in manufacturing, construction and agriculture, etc., were currently mechanized and automated, manual materials handling still existed in atypical working condition. In case of manual materials handling, repetitive work, inappropriate working posture, excessive force, contact stress might cause overload, which could lead to work-related musculoskeletal disorders and low back pains. On this basis, the goal of this study is to reveal the effects of various lifting postures of trunk angles and lower extremity postures on maximum holding time(MHT). Twenty two subjects were recruited from a university population. The experiment was designed by a combination of three trunk angle ($0^{\circ}$, $20^{\circ}$, $60^{\circ}$) and three lower extremity postures(straight, bent, kneeling). Before experimental trials, subjects performed MVC(maximum voluntary contraction) exertions in three trunk angles ($0^{\circ}$, $20^{\circ}$, $60^{\circ}$) to calculate 30%MVC at designated postures. In each trial, they were required to hold the handheld load(30%MVC) for a designated posture as long as they could. The results of MVC by trunk angles were measured in $0^{\circ}$ > $20^{\circ}$ > $60^{\circ}$ orders, but those of MHT measured in $20^{\circ}$ > $0^{\circ}$ > $60^{\circ}$ orders. These results showed that straight posture is the ideal working posture in work exerted a strong force for a short time, but the ability to work might be improved in the trunk angle $20^{\circ}$ in work required 30%MVC for a long time. Also, results of MVC and MHT by lower extremity postures measured in straight > bent > kneeling orders.

웹2.0에서 SOAP 처리와 성능 향상을 위한 모바일 웹 서버 프레임워크의 설계 (A Design of Mobile Web Server Framework for SOAP Transaction and Performance Enhancement in Web2.0)

  • 기존의 웹 서버는 과부하 상태인 경우 폐쇄 연결, 암호 핸드쉐이크 실행 증가와 서버 용량의 현저한 감소로 서버의 처리량에 문제가 발생하여 시스템의 전체적인 성능을 저하시킨다. 또한 쓰레드 블록으로 인하여 다수의 클라이언트 요청 처리가 원활하지 못하고, 쓰레드 활성화를 위하여 많은 시간과 자원을 요구하여, 클라이언트의 요청에 대해 접속시간과 응답 시간이 증가하는 단점이 발생한다. 그러므로 본 논문에서는 웹서버스의 장점인 통합과 커뮤니케이션 지원과 시스템 성능 향상을 위해 서버 과부하를 개선하고, 지연처리를 위해 필요한 기술을 제공하는 확장된 웹서버를 제안한다. 그리고 기존 시스템(Tomcat 5.5에서 구현)과 제안한 모바일 웹 서버 아키텍처를 평가한다. 확장된 서버 아키텍처는 시스템 성능을 위해 우수한 교환 조건을 제공하고, 다중쓰레드와 쓰레드풀을 결합한 개선된 웹 서버 아키텍처를 평가한다. 본 논문에서 제안된 웹서비스 아키텍처는 오리지널 Tomcat 5.5의 평가 결과보다 개선된 성능 이익의 결과를 얻었다.
