This study is carried out to obtain basic data regarding oxidation and reduction reactions, originated on the recycling of waste tungsten hard scraps by oxidation and reduction processes. First, it is estimated that the theoretical Gibbs free energy for the formation reaction of $WO_2$ and $WO_3$ are calculated as ${\Delta}G_{1,000K}=-407.335kJ/mol$ and ${\Delta}G_{1,000K}=-585.679kJ/mol$, from the thermodynamics data reported by Ihsan Barin. In the experiments, the oxidation of pure tungsten rod by oxygen is carried out over a temperature range of $700-1,000^{\circ}C$ for 1 h, and it is possible to conclude that the oxidation reaction can be represented by a relatively linear relationship. Second, the reduction of $WO_2$ and $WO_3$ powder by hydrogen is also calculated from the same thermodynamics data, and it can be found that it was difficult for the reduction reaction to occur at $1,027^{\circ}C$, in the case of $WO_2$, but it can happen for temperatures higher than $1127^{\circ}C$. On the other hand, $WO_3$ reduction reaction occurs at the relatively low temperature of $827^{\circ}C$. Based on these results, the reduction experiments are carried out at a temperature range of $500-1,000^{\circ}C$ for 15 min to 4 h, in the case of $WO_3$ powder, and it is possible to conclude that the reduction at $900^{\circ}C$ for 2h is needed for a perfect reduction reaction.

Objectives: An objective of this study was to perform a risk assessment and social cost-benefit analysis for revising permissible exposure limits for seven substances: Nickel(Insoluble inorganic compounds), benzene, carbon disulfide, formaldehyde, cadmium(as compounds), trichloroethylene, touluene-2,4-diisocyanate. Materials and Methods: The research methods were divided into risk and hazard assessment and cost-benefit analysis. The risk and hazard assessment for the seven substances consists of four steps: An overview of GHS MSDS(1st), review of document of ACGIH's TLVs (2nd), comparison between international occupational exposure limits and domestic permissible exposure limits(3rd), and analysis of excess workplace and excess rate for occupational exposure limits based on previous work environment measurement data(4th). Total cost was estimated using cost of local exhaust ventilation, number of excess workplace and penalties for exceeding a permissible exposure limit. On the other hand, total benefit was calculated using the reduction rate of occupational disease, number of workplaces treating each substance and industrial accident compensation. Finally, the net benefit was calculated by subtracting total cost from total benefit. Results: All the substances investigated in this study were classified by CMR(Carcinogens, Mutagens or Reproductive toxicants) and their international occupational exposure limits were stricter than the domestic permissible exposure limits. As a result of excess rate analysis, trichloroethylene was the highest at 11%, whereas nickel was the lowest at 0.5%. The excess rates of all substances except for trichloroethylene were observed at less than 10%. Among the seven substances, the total cost was highest for trichloroethylene and lowest for carbon disulfide. The benefits for the seven substances were higher than costs estimated based on strengthening current permissible exposure limits. Thus, revising the permissible exposure limits of the seven substances was determined to be acceptable from a social perspective. Conclusions: The final revised permissible exposure limits suggested for the seven substances are as follows: $0.2mg/m^3$ for nickel, 0.5 ppm(TWA) and 2.5 ppm(STEL) for benzene, 1 ppm(TWA) for carbon disulfide, $0.01mg/m^3$(TWA) for cadmium, 10 ppm(TWA) and 25 ppm(STEL) for trichloroethylene, 0.3 ppm(TWA) for formaldehyde, and 0.005 ppm(TWA) and 0.02 ppm(STEL) for toluene diisocynate(isomers).

Unmeasured value of water for human lives is widely approved, but the water as one of natural resources cannot be evaluated with ease since it changes itself ceaselessly by flowing-out or transforming the phase. Major objectives of the study concerned consequently with investigating its potentiality and evaluating its time seriesly availabity in a volumatic unit. And the study was performed to give the accurate original data to the planners concerned. Some developed rational methods of predicting runoff related to hydrological factors as precipitation, were to be discusseed for their theorical background and to be introduced whether they needed some corrections or not, comparing their estimation with actual runoff from synthetic unit-hydrograph methods. To do so, the study was performed to select Kongju Station, located at the watershed of the Keum River, and to collect such hydrological data from 1962 to 1972 as runoff, water level, precipitation, and so on. On the other hand, the hydrological characteristics of runoff were concluded more reasonably in numerical values, with calculating the the ratio of daily runoff to annual discharge of the flow in percentage, as. the distribution ratio of runoff. The results of the study can be summarized as follows; (1) There needed some consideration to apply the Kajiyama's Formula for predicting monthly runoff of rivers in Korea.(2) The rational methods of predicting runoff might be recommended to become less theorical and reliable than the unique analyzation of data concerned in each given water basin. The results from the Keum River prepared above would be available to any programms concerned. (3) The most accurate estimation for runoff could be suggested to synthetic unithydrograph methods calculated from the relation between each storm and runoff. However it was not contained in the study. (4) The relations between rainfall and runoff at KongJu Station were as following table. The table showed some intersting implications about the characteristics of runoff at site, which indicated that the runoff during three months from July to September approached total of 60% of quantity while precipitation concentrated on the other three from June to August. And there were some months which had more amount of runoff than expected values calculated from the precipitation, such as Febrary, March, August, September, Octover, and December, shown in the table. Such implications should be suggested to meet any correction factors in the future formulation concerned with the subjects, if any rational methods would be required.
A grape fruit is required for a lot of labor to harvest in time in Korea, since the fruit is cut and grabbed currently by hand. In foreign country, especially France, a grape harvester has been developed for processing to make wine out of a grape, not to eat a fresh grape fruit. However, a harvester which harvests to eat a fresh grape fruit has not been developed yet. Therefore, this study was designed and constructed to develope a image processing system for a fresh grape harvester. Its development involved the integration of a vision system along with an personal computer and two cameras. Grape recognition, which was able to found the accurate cutting position in three dimension by the end-effector, needed to find out the object from the background by using two different images from two cameras. Based on the results of this research the following conclusions were made: The model grape was located and measured within less than 1,100 mm from camera center, which means center between two cameras. The distance error of the calculated distance had the distance error within 5mm by using model image in the laboratory. The image processing system proved to be a reliable system for measuring the accurate distance between the camera center and the grape fruit. Also, difference between actual distance and calculated distance was found within 5 mm using stereo vision system in the field. Therefore, the image processing system would be mounted on a grape harvester to be founded to the position of the a grape fruit.

In Korea, July 2012, the law as called 'Act on Safety Control of Radioactive Rays Around Living Environment' was implemented to control the consumer product containing Naturally Occurring Radioactive Material (NORM), but, there are no appropriate database and effective dose calculation system. The aim of this study was to develop evaluation technique of the exposure dose with the use of the consumer products containing NORM and to understand the characteristics of the exposed dose according to the radiation type and energy. For the evaluate of exposure dose, the ICRP reference phantom was simulated by the MCNPX code based on Monte Carlo method, and the minimum, medium, maximum energy of alphas, betas, gammas from the representative NORM of Uranium decay series were used as the source term in the simulation. The annual effective doses were calculated by the exposure scenario of the consumer product usage time and position. Short range of the alpha and beta rays are mostly delivered the dose to the skin. On the other hand, the gamma rays mostly delivered the similar dose to all of the organs. The results of the annual effective dose with $1Bq{\cdot}g^{-1}$ radioactive stone-bed and 10% radioactive concentration were employed with the usage time of 7 hours 50 minute per day, the maximum annual effective dose of alphas, betas, gammas were calculated 0.0222, 0.0836, $0.0101mSv{\cdot}y^{-1}$, respectively.
Pyrausta panopealis is the major pest in green perilla. The larva weaves a web on the shoot of green perilla and damages. In case of extreme, The larva cuts the main branch of green perilla and the leaf of green perilla isn't harvested anymore. A field study was conducted to estimate economic injury levels (EILs) and control thresholds (CTs) for P. panopealis injuring green perilla in green-houses. Different densities of P. panopealis ranged from 1 to 20 crops (2 units per crop) per 100 crops on 13. June, early inoculation. The number of injured leaf and the rate of injured crop were increased by 23. June, on the other hand were decreased after that day. Also, the amount of yield sow the same result above. The economic loss time calculated by the ratio of cost managing this moth to market price (C/V) (C: cost managing a moth, V: Market price) was 4.0%. The economic injury level was 5.1 larval per 100 crops. The control thresholds calculated by 80% level of economic injury level was 4.1 larval per 100 crops.
Experiments have been conducted to investigate synergistic effects and mechanisms of the Alaskan subbituminous coal/polypropylene (PP). Coliquefaction of coal/PP gave the synergistic effect in yields by 17% compared to independent liquefactions of coal or PP at $430^{\circ}C$. To analyse coliquefaction mechanisms, the second and zeroth order kinetic models were developed for coal and PP conversions respectively. When the models were simulated to fit coliquefaction results, those represented results successfully with the correlation coefficient of 0.99. The amount of tetralin needed to liquefy unit mass of coa 1(${\beta}$) was also calculated using the developed model. According to the calculated results, $\beta$ increased from 0.4 to 1.0 as the coliquefaction temperature increased from $410^{\circ}C$ to $470^{\circ}C$. This indicated that tetralin lowered the molecular weight of oil produced, and this phenomenon was recognized by the GPC analyses. Furthermore, it was found that tetralin prohibited the liquefaction of PP when coal was not added. On the other hand, tetralin was believed to act as a hydrogen-donor solvent to coal rather than prohibit PP liquefaction during coliquefaction. Therefore, the liquefaction rate of PP increases and synergistic effects in oil yields are mainly due to the increase in PP liquefaction during coal/PP coliquefaction.
The electronic structures, magnetism, and half-metallicity of the full-Heusler $Co_2TiSn$(001) surfaces have been investigated by using the all-electron full-potential linearized augmented plane wave method within the generalized gradient approximation. We have considered both of the Co atoms terminated(Co-term) and the TiSn atoms terminated(TiSn-term) surfaces. From the calculated density of states, we found that the half-metallicity was destroyed at the surface of the Co-term, while the half-metallicity was retained at the TiSn-term. For the surface of the Co-term, due to the reduced coordination number the occupied minority d-states were shifted to high energy regions and that cross the Fermi level, thus destroy the surface half-metallicity. On the other hand the surface states at the surface of the TiSn-term were located just below the Fermi level, which reduces the minority spin-gap with respect to that of the center layer. The calculated magnetic moment of the surface Co atom for the Co-term was increased by 10 % to 1.16 ${\mu}_B$ with respect to that of the inner-layers, while the magnetic moment of the subsurface Co atom in the TiSn-term has almost same value of the innerlayers(1.03 ${\mu}_B$).
Precipitation is one of a major causes of landslides by rising of pore water pressure, which leads to fluctuations of soil strength and stress. For this reason, precipitation is the most frequently used to determine the landslide thresholds. However, using only precipitation has limitations in predicting and estimating slope stability quantitatively for reducing false alarm events. On the other hand, Soil Moisture (SM) has been used for calculating slope stability in many studies since it is directly related to pore water pressure than precipitation. Therefore, this study attempted to evaluate the appropriateness of applying soil moisture in determining the landslide threshold. First, the reactivity of soil saturation level to precipitation was identified through time-series analysis. The precipitation threshold was calculated using daily precipitation (Pdaily) and the Antecedent Precipitation Index (API), and the hydrological threshold was calculated using daily precipitation and soil saturation level. Using a contingency table, these two thresholds were assessed qualitatively. In results, compared to Pdaily only threshold, Goesan showed an improvement of 75% (Pdaily + API) and 42% (Pdaily + SM) and Changsu showed an improvement of 33% (Pdaily + API) and 44% (Pdaily + SM), respectively. Both API and SM effectively enhanced the Critical Success Index (CSI) and reduced the False Alarm Rate (FAR). In the future, studies such as calculating rainfall intensity required to cause/trigger landslides through soil saturation level or estimating rainfall resistance according to the soil saturation level are expected to contribute to improving landslide prediction accuracy.
A total of 19 elevators for evacuation were installed in the Lotte World Tower and it is planned to operate the shuttle using the manual key from five refuge floors to the 1st floor in an emergency. In the event of a fire or other disaster, it is necessary to conduct intensive analysis to determine how much RSET reduction could be achieved using the evacuation elevator compared to the existing evacuation plans. When the optimal transportation sharing ratio by the evacuation elevators was 40% at the Lotte World Tower, the RSET of the evacuation scenario in parallel with the elevators in the entire building was calculated to be 1 hour and 2 minutes. The RSET of a conventional evacuation scenario (Walking along the stairs without using the elevators) was calculated to be 1 hour 29 minutes, therefore, the former evacuation scenario were found to have a shortening effect of approximately 27 minutes compared to the latter. On the other hand, to maintain this effect, each part of the evacuation route using the elevator must have the capability to protect the evacuee from any hazards caused by fires, such as smoke, flame, and radiant heat during the evacuation. Moreover, the evacuation route should be continuous from the residence position of the elevator user to the final evacuation site, and be recognized easily.
