  • In this paper, photovoltaic module integrated converter (MIC) based on active clamp current-fed half-bridge converter is proposed. The converter stage operates in zero-voltage condition using active clamp technique. The theoretical study and circuit design for proposed inverter are confirmed with PSIM simulator.

A New High Efficiency Half Bridge Converter with Improved ZVS Performance

  • A new asymmetrical pulse width modulation (PWM) half bridge converter with improved ZVS performance is proposed. The ZVS operation of the proposed converter can be maintained from no load to full load conditions since the magnetizing current of the transformer contributes to the ZVS operation at light loads without considerable conduction loss of the transformer and switch. Synchronous rectification is employed to reduce the rectification loss. Operational principles, large signal modeling, ZVS analysis and design equations are presented. Experimental results demonstrate that the proposed converter can achieve a large ZVS range and significant improvement in efficiency for a 100W (5V, 20A) prototype converter.

  • In this paper, zero voltage switched half bridge converter and an active-clamped, zero voltage switched forward converter equipped with self-driven synchronous rectifier is designed and investigated for high efficiency BC-DC converter. A synchronous rectifier is has a lower conduction power loss than shottky diode rectifier. The purpose of this paper is to investigate the effect of parasitic inductance in a synchronous rectifier of DC-DC converters and examine overall efficiency of zero voltage switched DC-DC converters.

Input Voltage Range Extension Method for Half-Bridge LLC Converters by Using Magamp Auxiliary Post-Regulator

  • An improved half-bridge LLC converter with a magamp auxiliary post-regulator is proposed in this paper. The function of the magamp is bypassed when the converter works within the low input-voltage range. Meanwhile, it operates as an auxiliary post-regulator when the input voltage is high. By changing the blocking time of the magamp, the dc gain of the converter can be extended. Hence, the input voltage range of the converter is extended. The realization of proposed topology does not require a complicated circuit. The controller of the magamp can be easily implemented using only passive components, transistors and an OP amp. The generalized operational principle is analyzed and the design criterion for the magamp is presented. Finally, a 25V output, 400W experimental prototype was built and tested for a 160-300V input-voltage range to verify the feasibility of the proposed method.

  • 최근 산업기기의 발달과 신재생에너지원 사용 증가로 인하여 대전력용 직류전원 변환장치의 관심이 고조되고 있다. 이에 본 논문에서는 입출력 절연을 통하여 안전성 향상 및 고승압이 가능하며, 효율이 우수한 Half-Bridge 절연형 DC/DC 컨버터를 제안한다. 제안된 컨버터는 출력단에 콘덴서를 이용한 배압 회로를 사용하여 고승압을 실현 하였으며, Soft Switching 방식을 적용하여 고효율화가 가능함을 검증 하였다.

  • This paper proposes a wide output range AC/DC converter for a rechargeable battery of electric vehicle. In the proposed wide output range AC/DC converter for rechargeable battery of electric vehicle, the main transformer in the DC/DC stage is divided by two. Therefore, if the switch is connected to the middle tap, then half of the maximum voltage is applied. Otherwise, it can be applied the full range of the high voltage by connecting the switch to the whole tab. And also, it is designed to have a wide output voltage range by applying Vin/2 made by changing the full-bridge to half-bridge by using the bridge change switch of the input stage. As it can be supplied the wide range output voltage with a single module, it has the advantage of space utilization and cost reduction effect.

  • The SMZ half-bridge converter uses the resonance between the inductance of transformer and the resonant capacitances to transfer the input power to the load. In addition to this kind of characteristic of the converter, there are some features such as the capability of soft switching operation, a lower switching loss, and a higher power density in the converter. However in the low-voltage and high-output current applications of the converter, the extremely increased output ripple voltage prevents the converter from normal operation. In order to overcome the drawback of the converter, adding the output filter inductor to the converter, the converter shows the completely different resonant characteristics. In this paper, We analyzed the resonant characteristics of the SMZ converter with the output filter inductor and investigated what the analyzed results affect the converter operation. The experiment of a I50W prototype SMZ converter with 5V output and 310V input is carried out to verity the validity of the analyzed results.

  • In this paper the novel converter topology for the switched reluctance motor drives is proposed, which is composed of the minimum switch per phase and is connected to the single-phase voltage inverter for ac voltage source. The proposed converter topology is divided into two types according to the voltage source inverter of half bridge type and full bridge type. Proposed converters of two types are proposed, analyzed and compared with each other. The SRM using proposed converter maintain the hi인 efficiency though the power switches are reduced.

  • A Full-bridge zero-voltage zero-current switching (ZVZCS) converter using transformer auxiliary winding is analyzed. A complete small-signal model for the control scheme is developed. The propoed model is accurate up to half the switching frequency. The dynamic characteristics are compared with those of the zero-voltage switching converter and buck converter. Model predictions are confirmed by experimental measurements.

  • 본 논문은 상이한 누설인덕턴스를 가진 두 개의 변압기를 이용하여 전류불균형을 개선한 하프브리지 LLC 공진형 컨버터를 제안한다. 제안된 컨버터는 변압기의 누설인덕턴스와 자화인덕턴스 및 공진커패시턴스를 이용하여 공진하고, 넓은 부하영역을 가지며, 경부하에서도 영전압스위칭 조건을 만족한다. 직/병렬로 연결된 두 개의 변압기는 동작모드에 따라 변압기 또는 공진인덕턴스로써 교대로 동작하고, 변압기 2차측에는 누설인덕턴스를 이용하므로 별도의 출력 필터인덕턴스가 필요하지 않다. 또한 제안된 컨버터는 두 변압기의 상이한 누설인덕턴스와 하프브리지 스위치의 비대칭 펄스폭변조를 이용하여 2차측 정류다이오드의 전류불균형 문제를 개선한다. 본 논문에서는 제안된 컨버터의 동작원리를 모드별로 설명하고 프로토타입 컨버터의 설계 예를 제시한다. 제안된 컨버터의 우수한 성능을 입증하기 위하여 설계된 프로토타입의 회로파라미터로써 프로토타입 컨버터를 제작하고 실험하였다. 제안된 컨버터의 우수한 성능을 실험결과를 통하여 보인다.
