생장억제제 처리가 나도풍란(Sedirea japonica) 유묘의 생장과 invertase 활성에 미치는 영향 (Effect of Growth Retardants on Growth and Invertase Activity of Sedirea japonica Seedlings in vitro)

  • 본 연구는 몇 가지 생장억제제를 배지에 처리하였을 때 기내 배양한 나도풍란 유묘의 생장과 그들의 invertase활성 검정을 위하여 실시하였다. 나도풍란에 식물생장억제제 인 ancymidol과 paclobutrazol을 각각 배양용 배지에 첨가했을 때, 농도가 높을수록 엽장이 감소한 반면, 엽폭은 상대적으로 증가하였고, 근장은 짧았으나 근수 및 근직경은 증가하였다 Uniconazole 0.05 mg/L에서는 잎과 뿌리생장이 대조구보다 오히려 촉진되었다. 처리한 모든 종류에 있어서 그 농도가 높아짐에 따라 잎 모양은 원형으로 변하면서 작아졌다. Invertase 활성을 알아보기 위 한 soluble acid invertase 활성과 soluble alkaline invertase활성은 잎에서는 생장억제제 농도가 낮은 처리에서 높았고, 뿌리에서는 정반대의 경향이었다. 지상부 및 지하부의 전분함량은 잎에서는 invertase 활성이 높았던 저농도에서 높았으며, 뿌리에서는 invertase 활성이 높았던 고농도에서 높았다.

Effect of Growth Retardant BX-112 on Growth, Floral Initiation, and Endogenous GA Levels in Sorghum

  • To define the relations between endogenous GA levels and growth and flowering in short-day plant sorghum, growth retardant BX-112 was applied to two sorghum genotypes, wild-type and phytochrome B mutant (phyB-1), which grows faster and flowers earlier than the wild-type. BX-112 and $GA_3$ were applied as a soil drench, and plant height, culm length, and date to floral initiation were investigated. Endogenous GAs contents were measured with GC-MS-SIM. BX-112 treatments inhibited shoot growth in both genotypes and drastically reduced $GA_1$ and $GA_8$ levels. With increasing BX-112 concentrations, $GA_1$ concentrations declined linearly, but caused the accumulation of intermediates from $GA_12$ to $GA_20$. This result implies that $GA_1$ is the major active endogenous GA in shoot elongation in a short day plant sorghum. The inhibition of plant growth in both of wild type and phyB-1 by BX-112 was very similar, while BX-112 effects on floral initiation in two types of plants differed significantly. Floral initiation of phyB-1 was not affected by BX-1l2, but that of wild-type was delayed as BX-1l2 concentration increased. Because BX-112 treatment causes accumulation of biosynthetic intermediates between synthetic pathway from $GA_12$ to $GA_20$ and because phyB-1 is altered in GA metabolism in this same region of the early C13-hydroxylation pathway, BX-112 may fail to block flowering of phyB-1.

  • 본 연구는 나도풍란의 기내 배양에서 몇 가지 종류의 식물생장억제제의 농도별 처리가 식물체 내 유리당 및 단백질 함량에 미치는 영향을 알아보기 위하여 실시되었다. 잎의 유리당의 함량은 생장억제제의 처리 농도가 높아짐에 따라 감소하는 경향이었고, 분석된 유리당 중 glucose의 함량이 가장 높았다. 뿌리의 유리당 함량은 잎과는 반대로 생장억제제 처리 농도가 높아짐에 따라 함량도 같이 높아지는 경향이었으며, 조사된 유리당 중 sucrose의 함량이 비교적 가장 높았다. 잎의 단백질 함량은 생장억제제 처리농도가 높아짐에 따라 감소하는 경향이었으나, 뿌리에서는 증가하는 경향을 나타내었다.

Numerical study on the post-earthquake fire behavior of intermediate steel moment frames

  • As steel is highly sensitive to temperature variations, fire exposure is more destructive in the case of steel structures in comparison to the concrete ones. The performance of an intermediate three-story steel moment frame with 4 spans was studied under the service load, thermal load and post-earthquake fire in this paper. Also, the effects of passive fire-protection materials such as ordinary cement-based and fire-retardant coatings were investigated. To model and analyze the structure; Abaqus software is utilized. In order to apply the earthquake effect, the push-over analysis method is employed. Changes in the stories deflection, endurance time and growth of nonlinear regions due to losses in the steel stiffness and strength, are among the issues considered in this study. As an interesting finding, the beams protected by ordinary cement-based coating could sustain the fire exposure at least for 30 minutes in all cases. The mentioned time is increased by employing a new fire-retardant protection, which could prevent significant loss in the structure resistance against fire, even after 60 minutes of exposure to fire.

Effects of Gibberellin Biosynthetic Inhibitors on Oil, Secoisolaresonolodiglucoside, Seed Yield and Endogenous Gibberellin Content in Flax

  • Flax (Linum usitatissimum L.) has been used for the edible oil in Korea. The evaluate the effect of plant growth retardants on flaxseed yield, oil content, and gibberellin level, chloromequat chloride (CMC), paclobutrazol (PBZ), and prohexadione-Ca (PHC) were used as plant growth retardants in this study. These plant growth retardants were foliar-sprayed to flax plant at 55 days after seeding. The concentrations of each plant growth retardant were as followed: CMC 250, 500, 1000 ppm, PBZ 40, 80, 160 ppm and PHC 500, 1000, 2000 ppm. PHC treatment to forming bolls was more stimulated than CMC and PBZ. The highest ripened seed rate was observed in PHC treatment at 2000ppm. The high see yields were obtained in PHC treatment following PBZ and CMC, in turn. Seed yield that significantly increased in PBZ and PHC was found to be increased 12.4 ~ 23.9% as compared to the control. The PHC showed higher flaxseed production and oil yield than that of CMC and PBZ. The results obtained in the present study suggest that higher concentration of plant growth retardant (PHC) increased flaxseed yield and oil content. The optimal concentration of PHC treatment was observed in 2000 ppm. It concludes that the foliar application of PHC 2000 ppm may be useful for the increasing oil and higher seed production in flax plants.

난연소재와 일반소재 알루미늄복합패널의 연소특성 비교에 관한 실험적 연구 (An Experimental Study on Combustion Characteristics of Aluminum Composite Panels for Flame Retardant and General Materials)

  • 본 연구에서는 건축외장재로 많이 사용되고 있는 알루미늄복합패널의 일반재와 난연재에 대한 화재성능 비교분석에 관해 연구하였다. 실험방법은 중소형 실험장치 중 콘칼로리미터 실험과 SBI(Single Burning Item)을 적용하여 분석하였다. 그 결과 콘칼로리미터 실험에서 최대 열방출률이 일반 알루미늄복합패널은 $1,293kW/m^2$($75kW/m^2$), 난연 알루미늄복합패널은 $70kW/m^2$($75kW/m^2$)가 측정되었다. SBI 실험에서 화재확산지수가 일반 알루미늄복합패널은 약 743W/s이고 난연 알루미늄복합패널은 약 97 W/s의 값이 측정되었다. 이는 일반 알루미늄복합패널의 경우 건축물 내장재의 성능기준에서 난연기준에도 훨씬 못 미치고, 플래쉬 오버(Flash over) 발생 가능성을 나타내었다. 따라서 이러한 알루미늄복합패널의 화재 위험성을 평가하여 외장재로서 사용 시 갖춰야 할 조건에 대한 기준마련이 시급히 요구된다.

Preparation of Flame Retardant and Antibacterial Wood with Composite Membrane Coating

  • A novel flame retardant and antibacterial composite membrane coating for wood surfaces was prepared by adding POSS-based phosphorous nitrogen flame retardant (later referred to as NH2-POSS) and silver nanoparticles (Ag NPs) to chitosan (CS). The effects of NH2-POSS content (mass fractions of CS 0%, 0.5%, 1%, 3%, 5%, and 7%) on the structure and properties of the composite membrane coating on wood were investigated. The composite film was prepared by the method of blending and ducting. Contact angle, tensile property and antibacterial effects of the composite film were measured, and infrared spectroscopy was used. The results show that the addition of NH2-POSS can not only improve the toughness of the membrane, but also the flame retardancy of the membrane, which improves the application of the membrane in wood products. However, with the addition of NH2-POSS, the transparency of the composite membrane was weakened. The inhibitory effect of the composite membrane on the growth of Escherichia coli was enhanced with the increase in Ag NPs. This research provides a foundation for the application of functional wood.

  • Due to the construction technique (or the construction culture) growth in and out of Korea, newly-developed products have been continuously released. Furthermore, all legislation and regulation that the World follows are gradually becoming unified. (e.g. FTA(Free Trade Agreement) with the United States was contracted, and inevitable FTA contraction with EU and China ), For this reason, it is considered that Korean fire regulation on building interior materials needs to be reviewed and compared with that of international standard so that it becomes legitimate and reasonable one. Especially, this reference is going to make a description of building interior materials' Flame retardant performance standard.
