한국(韓國)에서 테-다 소나무의 생육가능성(生育可能性) (Growth Feasibility of Loblolly Pine, Pinus taeda L. in Korea)

  • 테-다소나무 자연분포구역내의 종자산지별(種子産地別) 묘목(苗木)의 미국내조림 활착율(活着率)은 대체로 종자산지(種子産地)가 서북쪽으로 갈수록 높았으며 생장은 종자산지(種子産地)가 동남쪽으로 갈수록 좋았다. 따라서 우리나라의 내륙지방에 알맞는 산지로는 Arkansas Texas산(産)이 적합할 것으로 추정되며, 서해안 및 동해안 지방에는 Maryland, North Carolina 구능산이, 또 남해안에 North Carolina 해안산이 가장 유망시 되는 산지로 추정된다.

  • 본 연구에서는 표면 균열이 있는 평판의 탄소성 피로하중 상태에서 성장하는 균열 형태의 변화와, 작용하는 응력의 크기에 따른 균열 개페구 특성의 변화를 연구하 였다.또, 유효 응력 확대계수 범위, .DELTA.K$_{eff}$와 J적분범위, .DELTA.J가 탄소성 응력 상태에서의 표면 피로균열 진전속도를 나타내는 역학양으로 사용되는데 따른 적합성등 을 검토하였다.

  • The fatigue failure of rail is a principal source of derailment accidents. The reduction of fatigue failures can be achieved by Intensive track maintenance and periodic safety assessments for the railway. For the safety assessments, it is required to have more accurate knowledge for fatigue behavior such as the crack initiation, propagation, crack growth rate and the remaining service life in rail. In this paper, the mean stress effects for the fatigue behavior of rail steel are studied. For this study, the fatigue test is conducted and some equations for fatigue evaluation are applied and compared. From the results, we can see that the fatigue crack growth rate is the more increased as the men stress Is the more increased, the mean stress effect is represented well by the combination of stress intensity factor range and maximum stress intensity factor and Crooker and Range's equation represented by ${\Delta}K, K_{max}$ is the best fit for fatigue evaluation and safety assessment of rail.

  • We prepared Au nanoparticles by seed-mediated method and investigated the effects of process variables on the seed-mediated growth of Au nanoparticles. The monodispersed Au seed nanoparticles in the size range from 14.3 nm to 20.3 nm were prepared by the reduction reaction between $HAuCl_4$ and citrate. We added the $HAuCl_4$ precursors with citrates into the Au seed solution and prepared the Au nanoparticles in the size range from 16.8 and 37.8 nm with monodisperse distribution and could control the size of Au nanoparticles by changing the amount of $HAuCl_4$ precursor.

  • Various recrystallization techniques has been applied to control morphology and size of NTO(3-nitro-1, 2, 4-triazole-5-one) crystals. With cooling method, it was found that the size of NTO at aqueous solution was controlled in the range of 5 to 500 $\mu\textrm{m}$. The spherical or cubic shapes of particles were obtained by adjusting operating conditions. Hexagonal and cubic shaped crystals of NTO were also obtained by sonication and evaporative method using aqueous solution of NTO. Their particle sizes were ranged 20 to 30 $\mu\textrm{m}$. In gas anti-solvent method with NTO/DMF and NTO/DMSO solutions, cubic type of NTO was obtained and the range of their sizes was 0.5-2$\mu\textrm{m}$.

$WO_3$가 첨가된 ZNO 바리스터의 미세구조적, 전기적 특성 (A Microstructural and Electrical Properties of $WO_3$-Doped ZnO Varistors)

  • The influence of $WO_3$ (0.5-4.0mol%) on the microstructural and electrical properties of ZnO varistors was investigated. The major part of a tungsten segregated to the nodal point. SEM, EDAX, and XRD analysis revealed that three phase, such as W-rich phase, Bi-rich phase, and spinel phase, coexist at the nodal point. The average grain size increased in the range of 15.5-29.9pm with increasing $WO_3$ content. This may be probably attributed to liquid phase formed by $WO_3$, $WO_3$ acted as promotion additive of grain growth. As $WO_3$ content increase, the varistor voltage greatly decreased in the range 186.82-35.87V/mm due to the increase of grain growth. The barrier height decreased in the range 1.93-0.42eV with increasing $WO_3$content.

  • Pb-Sn eutectic bulk specimens을 thermal cycling동안 electronic package의 땜납이 격게되는 변형 조건 즉 $10^{-3}-10^{-5}$/s정도의 낮은 frequency와 0.2-1%정도의 적당한 strain range에서 피로파괴 실험을 했을때, grain boundary sliding과 관련하여 임계면을 따라 일어나는 균열이 5단계에 의해 묘사될 수 있다는 것을 보였음.

  • 필름형 poly ethylene terephthalate(PET)를 0~1000 mm/min의 속도로 단계적으로 연신시켰을 때, 플라스틱 변형이 일어나면서 형성되는 넥킹 거동을 조사하였다. 필름형 시편을 약 20~100 mm/min의 속도로 연신시켰을 때, 얻어진 응력-변형 곡선에서 응력 진동이 뚜렷하게 발생하였지만, 약 200~500 mm/min의 속도로 연신시켰을 때, 응력 진동이 발생하지 않았다. 약 50 mm/min의 속도로 연신된 시편에서 투명/불투명 존 및 단면을 광학 현미경과 주사형 전자 현미경으로 관찰하였다. NaOH 알칼리 용액 내에서 약 50 mm/min의 속도로 연신된 시편의 부식 특성을 광학 현미경으로 관찰하였다.

Evaluation of crystallinity and defect on (100) ZnTe/GaAs grown by hot wall epitaxy

  • The relationship of crystallinity between defects distribution with (100) ZnTe/GaAs using HWE growth was investigated by four crystal rocking curve (FCRC) and transmission electron microscopy (TEM). The thickness dependence of crystal quality in ZnTe epilayer was evaluated. The FWHM value shows a strong dependence on ZnTe epilayer thickness. For the films thinner than 6 ${\mu}{\textrm}{m}$, the FWHM value decreases very steeply as the thickness increases. For the films thicker than 6 ${\mu}{\textrm}{m}$, it becomes an almost constant value. At the thickness of 12 $\mu\textrm{m}$ with the smallest value of 66 arcsec. which is the best value so far reported on ZnTe epilayers was obtained. Investigation into the nature and behavior of dislocations with film thickness in (100) ZnTe/(100)GaAs heterostructures grown by Hot Wall Epitaxy (HWE). This film defects range from interface to 0.7 ${\mu}{\textrm}{m}$ thickness was high density, due to the large lattice mismatch and thermal expansion coefficients. The thickness of 0.7~1.8 ${\mu}{\textrm}{m}$ was exists low defect density. In the thicker range than 1.8 ${\mu}{\textrm}{m}$ thickness was measured hardly defects.

A Comparative Evaluation of $K_{op}$ Determination and $\Delta{K}_{eff}$ Estimation Methods

  • Methods for determination of the crack opening stress intensity factor ($K_{op}$) and for estimation of the effective stress intensity factor range ($\Delta{K}_{eff}$) are evaluated for crack growth test data of aluminum alloys. Three methods of determining $K_{op}$, visual measurement, ASTM offset compliance method, and the neural network method proposed by Kang and Song, and three methods of estimating $\Delta{K}_{eff}$, conventional, the 2/PIO and 2/PI methods proposed by Donald and Paris, are compared in a quantitative manner by using evaluation criteria. For all $K_{op}$ determination methods discussed, the 2/PI method of estimating $\Delta{K}_{eff}$ provides good results. The neural network method of determining $K_{op}$ provides good correlation of crack growth data. It is recommended to use 2/PI estimation with the neural $K_{op}$ determination method. The ASTM offset method used in conjunction with 2/PI estimation shows a possibility of successful application. It is desired to improve the ASTM method.
