Purpose: This study was done to investigate the effects of a massage program on the growth of premature infants and on the mothers' confidence and satisfaction in the mothering role. Methods: The participants were 29 mothers of premature infants hospitalized in a neonatal intensive care unit at CNU Hospital (14 in the massage program group and 15 in control group). Massage was done for 10-15 minutes, 2-3 times a day for 4 weeks. The data were using the SAS PC+ program. Result: Significant differences were found in the ratios of weight gain (Z=2.24, p=.013), grow in length (Z=2.50, p=.006) and increase in head circumference (Z=1.91, p=.028) between the massage program group and the control group. Confidence in the mothering role was significantly higher for mothers in the massage program group compared to those in the control group (Z=2.69, p=.004), but there was no significant difference in satisfaction with the mothering role between the two groups (Z=.88, p=.191). Conclusion: These results suggest that the massage program enhances growth of premature infants as well as enhancing the mother's confidence in her role as mother. Therefore, the massage program for premature infants can be use as an effective nursing intervention.
Purpose: This study aimed to examine the effects of a mobile navigation program on uncertainty, resilience, and growth through uncertainty in colorectal cancer patients. Methods: To verify the effectiveness of the mobile navigation program, 61 participants diagnosed with colorectal cancer undergoing surgery were selected. A nonequivalent control group nonsynchronized design was used to evaluate the program. Uncertainty was measured using the Korean version of the Uncertainty in Illness Scale, resilience was measured using the Korean version of the Connor-Davidson Resilience Scale, and growth through uncertainty was measured using the Growth through Uncertainty Scale. Results: Compared with the control group, patients in the mobile navigation program group showed significant differences in scores for uncertainty (F=7.22, p=.009) and resilience (F=4.31, p=.042), but not for growth through uncertainty (F=2.76, p=.102). Conclusion: These results suggest that the mobile navigation program has positive effects on decreasing uncertainty and increasing resilience among colorectal cancer patients. The mobile navigation program could play a significant role in assisting colorectal cancer patients in regard to the continuity and usability of the program.

In the development process, the objective of a reliability growth program is to track the increase in system reliability, and determine as early as possible whether or not the system reliability is growing at a sufficient rate to meet the required goal and allocate available resources accordingly. Implementation of this kind of program will provide very useful information on concept selection, product/process reliability, and cost effectiveness without too much time, money and engineering effort being spent on the development of failure suspect parts. The purpose of this research is to present a practical method for efficiently monitoring a reliability growth test process using AMSAA(Army Materiel Systems Analysis Activity) reliability growth model. The presented growth management is a viable method for identifying failure modes, incorporating design changes and monitoring reliability progress on an on-going basis during the early stages of a product development program.
The purpose of this study was to examine the effects of the self-growth group counseling program on the self-concept and the interpersonal relationships of depressed children in elementary school. A total 20 children who were screened by CDI criteria participated in this study, these students were randomly assigned to the experimental group(N=10) and the control group(N=10). The self-growth group counseling programs were implemented for ten week period. The research hypothesis were as follows: 1-1 : The scores on the self-concept measure of the experimental group received the self-growth group counseling program will be higher than the control group. 1-2 : The post-test scores on the self-concept measure of the experimental group received the self-growth group counseling program will be higher than the pre-test scores. 2-1 : The scores on the interpersonal relationships measure of experimental group received the self-growth group counseling program will be higher than the control group. 2-2 : The post-test scores on the interpersonal relationships measure of the experimental group received the self-growth group counseling program will be higher than pre-test scores. 3-1 : The scores on CDI of the experimental group received the self-growth group counseling program will be lower than the control group. 3-2 : The post-test scores on CDI of the experimental group received self-growth group counseling program will be lower than pre-test scores. The results of the study were as follows: First, the scores of the self-concept and the interpersonal relationships measures of the experimental group students appeared to be higher than the control group. However among the self-concept measure, the score of the emotional self showed no statistically significant differences between the groups. Second, within the experimental group, the scores of the self-concept and the interpersonal relationships measures of the post-test appeared to be higher than the pre-test. Third, the scores on CDI measures also showed significant mean differences between the experimental group and the control group, and between the pre- and post-tests. These findings suggested that the self-growth group counseling program interventions were functioned as for improving the self-concept and the interpersonal relationships, and for decreasing the depressed level of children. The implications and limitations of the study were discussed, and the suggestions for further researches were made.

Conclusions: The results suggested that M&L Self-Growth Meditation Program improves the quality of life and mindfulness skill and has a positive responses to psychological problems-depression, anxiety, and anger.
Objectives We aimed to compare the bone age (BA) estimation by a deep learning-based program and by a specialist in pediatrics of Korean medicine using the Tanner-Whitehouse 3 (TW3) technique for the cases of children who visited a Korean medicine hospital for growth, and to report the effect of Korean medicine treatment. Methods For three children who visited the Korean medicine hospital for growth, BA estimation by the deep learning program and by the specialist in pediatrics of Korean medicine using the TW3 technique was compared, and the time required for estimation was investigated. The change of height, BA, and predicted adult height (PAH) using deep learning program after Korean medicine treatment was observed. Results BA estimation of the left hand bone X-ray by the specialist using the TW3 technique showed a difference of -0.03 to +0.15 years from the estimation by the deep learning program. The mean estimation time was 5 minutes and 49 seconds per one for the specialist and 48 seconds for the deep learning program. During the treatment period, the height percentile and PAH estimated by deep learning program were increased after Korean medicine treatment compared to baseline while acceleration of BA was suppressed compared to chronological age. Conclusions BA estimation using the deep learning program and the TW3 technique showed a difference of less than 0.15 years, and in three cases of patients with growth as the chief complaint, Korean medicine treatment increased height percentile and PAH without accelerating BA maturation.
This study was conducted to determine how the isolation method of the porcine preantral follicles influenced the following follicular growth in vitro. Mechanical and enzymatical isolations were used for retrieving the follicles from prepubertal porcine ovaries, and in vitro-growth of the follicles and the expression of folliculogenesis-related genes were subsequently monitored. The enzymatic retrieval with collagenase treatment returned more follicles than the mechanical retrieval, while the percentage of morphologically normal follicles was higher with mechanical retrieval than with enzymatic retrieval. After 4 days of culture, mechanically retrieved, preantral follicles yielded more follicles with normal morphology than enzymatically retrieved follicles, which resulted in improved follicular growth. The mRNA expression of FSHR, LHR Cx43, DNMT1 and FGFR2 genes was significantly higher after culture of the follicles retrieved mechanically. These results suggest that mechanical isolation is a better method of isolating porcine preantral follicles that will develop into competent oocytes in in vitro culture.
The purpose of this study was to verify the effects of growth orientation, life satisfaction, perceived stress, positive psychological capital and interpersonal relationships in the group coaching program for the promotion of growth orientation for university students based on the model of the social-cognitive approach to motivation. The program consisted of eight topics: growth orientation, growth mindset and brain plasticity, self-directed goal setting, talent which is a product of ongoing effort, failure attitude and perspective change, positive emotion, thinking and behavior, value of growth orientation and self-coaching, respectively. The program comprised a total of eight sessions, 120 minutes each, and the final program was completed through a preliminary experiment with three university students. In order to verify the effectiveness of the program, 48 university students were divided into 16 in the experimental group, 16 in the comparative group, and 16 in the control group. The experimental group participated in the group coaching program to enhance the growth orientation based on the model of the social-cognitive approach to motivation developed in this study, the comparative group participated in a learning goal orientation improvement program based on an incremental implicit theory, and the control group did not carry out any program. Three groups were tested in pre, post, follow-up1(after 1 month) and follow-up2(after 3 months) in order to growth orientation, life satisfaction, perceived stress, positive psychological capital and interpersonal relationships. We performed analysis to confirm the homogeneity to the data of the three groups and to verify the interaction effects between times and groups. As a result, it was confirmed that the group coaching program to promote growth orientation, life satisfaction, perceived stress, positive psychological capital and interpersonal relationships had statistically significant effect and was more effective than the comparative program due to the larger effective size. Also, we confirmed that the coaching effect was sustained after the program was finished and more effectively maintained than the comparative program. Based on the results of this study, this study has academic implications because it verify the effectiveness of the group coaching for the promotion of the growth orientation by scient ic method.
