In this paper, we developed a smart black box that can monitor and record the information of the sensor from subsystem in the smart grid system. The plant is the complex power system which is integrated by solar power system, grid-connected power systems, and BESS(battery energy storage system). The black box with the web-server application can connect and synchronize to an external monitoring system and a smart phone. We hope that this system is to contribute to improve operational efficiency, reliability, and stability for the smart grid power system.
This paper is related to a new solar power conditioner for a built-in step-up chopper function. In the first step-up chopper proposed solar PV power conditioner for mutually connected in series with the input voltage of the bypass diodes are respectively connected to the positive terminal should install the mutual boosting chopper diode connected in series with the boost chopper switching element between the two power supply and at the same time the first and the second was connected to a second diode and a resonance inductor and a snubber capacitor in series with each other. And the common connection point between the bypass diode and the step-up chopper and the step-up chopper diode common connection point of the switching elements of the input voltage was set to the boost inductor for storing energy. In addition, between the step-up chopper and the step-up chopper diode and a switching element of a joint connection point of the first auxiliary diode and the second common connection point of the auxiliary diode was provided, the resonance capacitor. Between the step-up chopper and the step-up chopper diode and a switching element of a joint connection point and the common connection point of the resonance inductor snubber capacitor and connecting the third secondary diode, between two power supply lines is characterized by configuring the DC link capacitor bus lines in parallel. Therefore, it is possible to suppress the switching loss through, DC link bus lines, as well as there could seek miniaturization and weight reduction of the power conditioner itself by using a common capacitor of the non-polar non-polar electrolytic capacitor having a capacitor, the service life of the circuit can be extended and it is possible to greatly reduce the loss can be greatly improve the reliability of the product and the operation of the product itself.
Encouragement of DER from Korean government with several policies boosts DER installation in power system. When the penetration of DER in the grid is getting high, loss of generation with break-away of DER by abnormal grid conditions should be considered, because loss of high generation causes abnormal low frequency and additional operations of protection system. Therefore, KEPCO where is Korean power utility is preparing improvement in regulations for DERs connected to the grid to support abnormal grid conditions such as low and high frequencies or voltages. This is called 'Ride Through' because the requirement is for DER to maintain grid connection during required periods when abnormal grid conditions occur. However, it is not easy to have a test for ride through capability in reality because emulation of abnormal grid conditions is not possible in real power system in operation. Also, it is not easy to have a study on grid effect when ride through capability fails with the same reason. PHILs (Power Hardware In the Loop System) makes it possible to analyze power system and hardware performance at once. Therefore, this paper introduces PHILs test methods and presents verification of ride through capability especially for low voltage grid conditions.
Recently, preparing the problems in connection with energy and environment, grid-connected power systems have been intensively researched in the world. In general, the output power of grid-connected inverter (GCI) contains noisy components of inverter switching frequency. Moreover, pre-existing grid voltage disturbances degrade the output power quality. The objective of this paper is to make a GCI output high quality power. A robust current control scheme using neural network is presented in thispaper. To show the feasibility of the proposed scheme, some simulation results are provided.
When ESS(Energy Storage System) is under normal operation, island situation can be occur because of grid accidents. When island operation occur, the system mode switches in to UPS(Uninterruptible Power Supply) mode to supply stabled load power. To decide island operation, checking grid magnitude or frequency is general. But regulation for sag and swell is required. In this paper, it proposes grid connection error detection algorithm for UPS operation when sag and swell occurs in grid, and analyzed by simulation.
The conventional grid connected PV(Photovoltaic) system has a unstable output pattern due to its dependence on the weather condition, although solar-cell array averagely has a regular output characteristics to have a peak output nearly at noon. Therefore assuming the high density grid connection in the future, this unstable output pattern can be one of the main reasons to generate power disturbance such as voltage variation, frequency variation and harmonic voltage generation in low voltage distribution line. However general grid connected solar-cell system do not have functions to cope with these disturbances. Therefore this study proposed a advanced type grid connected PV system with functions to suppress output power fluctuation due to solar-cell array output variation and showed the levelling effect of fluctuation due to instantaneous array output variation.
Grid-connected distributed power generation has been widely used in green energy generation. However, due to the distributed characteristics, distributed power generation is difficult to be dynamically allocated and monitored in the electrical control process. In order to solve this problem, this research combined the Internet of Things (IoT) with the automatic control system of electrical engineering to improve the control strategy of the power grid inverter according to the characteristics of the IoT system. In the research, a connection system of the power grid inverter and the IoT controller were designed, and the application effect was tested by simulation experiments. The results showed that the power grid inverter had strong tracking control ability for current and power control. Meanwhile, the electrical control system of the IoT could independently and dynamically control the three-phase current and power. The given value was reached within 50 ms after the step signal was input, which could protect the power grid from being affected by the current. The overall system could realize effective control, dynamic control and protective control.
The mode-switching control of transient process is important to grid-connected 400 Hz solid-state power supply systems. Therefore, this paper analyzes the principle of on-grid and islanding operation of the system with or without local loads in the grid-connected process and provides a theoretical study of the effect of different switching sequences on the mode-switching transient process. The conclusion is that the mode switch (MS) must be turned on before the solid-state switch (STS) in the on-grid process and that STS must be turned off before the MS in the off-grid process. A strategy of mode-switching smooth control for transient process of the system is proposed, including its concrete steps. The strategy utilizes the average distribution of peak currents and the smooth adjustment of peak currents and phases to achieve a no-shock grid connection. The simulation and experimental results show that the theoretical analysis is correct and that the method is effective.
