  • This study was carried out to construct accurate and scientific system of assessment indicators in selection of National Trust conservation areas, which was new concept of domestic environment movement and offer the raw data of new analytic method by introducing the fuzzy theory and weight for overcoming the uncertainty of ranking decision. To transform the Likert's scale granted to assessment indicators into the type of triangular fuzzy number(a, b, c), there was conversion to each minimum(a), median(b), and maximum(c) in applying membership function, and in using the center of gravity and eigenvalue, there was to decide the ranking. The rankings of converted values applied a mean importance and weight were confirmed that they were generally changed. Therefore, the ranking decision was better to accomplish objective and rational ranking decision by applying weight that was calculated in grouping of indicator than to judge the singular concept and to be useful in assessment of diverse National Trust site. In the future, because AHP, which was general method of calculating weight, was lacked, there was to understand the critical point to fix a pertinent weight, and to carry out the study applying engineering concept like fuzzy integral using $\lambda-measure$.

  • Korea Aerospace Research Institute (KARI) is developing an electric-driven HALE UAV in order to secure system and operational technologies since 2010. Based on the 5 years of flight tests and design experiences of the previously developed electric-driven UAVs, KARI has designed EAV-3, a solar-powered HALE UAV. EAV-3 weighs 53 kg, the structure weight is 21 kg, and features a flexible wing of 19.5 m in span with the aspect ratio of 17.4. Designing the main wing and empennage of the EAV-3 the amount of the bending due to the flexible wing, 404 mm at 1-G flight condition based on T-800 composite material, and side wind effects due to low cruise speed, V_cr = 6 m/sec, are carefully considered. Also, unlike the general aircraft there is no center of gravity shift during the flight. Thus, the static margin cuts down to 28.4% and center of gravity moves back to 31% of the Mean Aerodynamic Chord (MAC) comparing to the previously developed scale-down HALE UAVs, EAV-2 and EAV-2H, to minimize a trim drag and enhance a performance of the EAV-3. The first flight of the EAV-3 has successfully conducted on the July 29, 2015 and the test flight above the altitude 14 km has efficiently achieved on the August 5, 2015 at the Goheung aviation center.

  • In this research, we develop an airborne equipment radiating S/C-band signal to a target located at a long distance. RF interface of the equipment comprises band-specific transmitters and an broadband antenna to satisfy EIRP(effective isotropic radiated power) requirements. The equipment is in a shape of a POD like an aircraft fuel tank. The measured weight of the equipment is 119.8 kg, the CG(center of gravity) is 1391.35 mm and the MOI(moment of inertia) are 46.07 ± 0.05(Iyy) kg·㎡, 45.36 ± 0.09(Izz) kg·㎡. All results are found to meet the requirements for aircraft installation. To verify flight safety, EMI(electromagnetic interference) tests (RE102, CE102), environmental tests (high/low temperature operation, altitude), intra-system EMC(electromagnetic compatibility) and HERP(hazards electromagnetic radiation personnel) tests have been conducted and all the test results met the requirements. It is confirmed that the equipment could be mounted on the aircraft by meeting all electrical and mechanical requirements.

  • Welding is an essential process in the automotive industry. Most welding processes that are used for auto body is spot welding. And $CO_2$ arc welding is used in a small part. In production field, $CO_2$ arc welding process is decreased and spot welding process is increased due to welding quality is poor and defects are occurred in $CO_2$ arc welding process frequently. But $CO_2$ arc welding process should be used at robot interference parts and closed parts where spot welding couldn't. $CO_2$ welding is divided into lap welding and plug arc spot welding. In case of plug arc spot welding, burn through and under fill were caused in various welding environment such as different thickness combinations of base metal, teaching point, over the two steps welding and inconsistent voltage/current. It makes some problem like poor quality of welding area and decrease the productivity. In this study, we will evaluate the effect of teaching point through the weld pool behavior and bead geometry in the arc spot welding at the plut hole. Welding position is horizontal position. And galvanized steel sheet of 2.0mm thickness that has plug hole of 6mm diameter was used. Teaching point was changed by center, top, bottom, left and right of the plug hole. At each condition, the phenomenon of weld pool behavior was confirmed using a high-speed camera. As the result, we find the center of plug hole is the most optimal teaching point. In the other teaching point, under fill was occurred at the plug hole. This phenomenon is caused by gravity and surface tension. For performance of arc spot welding at the plug hole, the teaching condition should be controlled at a center of plug hole.

  • In Korea, the Air Quality Conservation Act and the Petroleum and Petroleum Substitute Fuel Business Act stipulate certain quality standards for fuels distributed in Korea, thereby striving to reduce vehicle performance and emissions. Domestic petroleum products import and produce all the crude oil from each oil refiner so that the quality of the petroleum product is different according to the characteristics of the crude oil. As a result, vehicles have been improved by using the physical properties calculated through the physical property measurement that has tried to improve the accuracy of the measurement of the energy consumption efficiency of the automobile by using standard fuel from abroad. In this study, the same test procedure and method as the test method of domestic gasoline vehicle emission are applied using four samples of gasoline and the latest gasoline vehicle which are actually distributed, and the performance evaluation is performed. The purpose of this study is to contribute to improvement of vehicle technology and fuel quality by collecting necessary basic data and obtaining data on the effect of differences in gasoline property on vehicle emissions. The results of the test showed that the emission of gases (NMOG, CO) from gasoline vehicles was the most influenced by the sulfur content, unlike the previous studies that the vehicles emission had the greatest influence on the distillation characteristics and the specific gravity of aromatic compounds. The catalytic reaction such as the poisoning action of the three-way catalyst which is the abatement device was interfered and the emission was increased. The distillation characteristics and specific gravity of aromatic compounds were found to affect the emission of vehicles. According to the physical properties of the fuel, the emission difference was 28.0% in the urban mode and 17.6 % in the highway mode.

  • In this paper, a snowboard simulator that measures the user's motion and makes the user feel physical changes and enjoy actual snowboarding was developed. The speed and direction of the snowboard are determined by the user's center of gravity. The developed simulator is equipped with four springs on the snowboard plate, so that the slope can change according to the change in the user's weight center and be felt directly. The slope due to the change in the center of gravity of the user is measured using a three-axis acceleration sensor. The friction of the slope generated by the rotation of the snowboard is made possible by the user using the BLDC motor, and the rotation of the snowboard is measured using the hole sensor. For rapid data processing of the simulator, two MCUs are used to transfer the measured data to the PC using the acceleration sensor and motor separately. The developed simulator can experience slopes and friction of the slope directly, and wear measured data and HMD to enjoy more realistic snowboarding.

  • The present study aims to improve the accuracy of the maneuvering simulations based on captive model test results. To derive the hydrodynamic coefficients in a self-propelled condition, a mathematical maneuvering model using a whole vehicle model was established. Captive model tests were carried out using the Vertical Planar Motion Mechanism (VPMM) equipment. A motor controller was used to control the constant propeller revolution rate during pure motion tests. The resistance tests, self-propulsion tests, static drift tests, and VPMM tests were performed in the towing tank of Seoul National University. When the vertical drift angle changes, the gravity load on the sensors were changed. The hydrodynamic forces were deduced by subtracting the gravity load from the measured forces. The hydrodynamic coefficients were calculated using the least-square method. The simulation of the turning circle test was compared with the free-running model test result, and the error of the turning radius was 8.3 % compared to the free-running model test.

  • We present a continuous cell separator that achieves density-dependent and size-independent cell separation based on the net force of gravity and buoyancy forces on the cells in dissimilar density fluids. Previous cell separators are, based on the size or dielectrophoretic property of the cells and, are suitable for size-dependent and density-independent cell separation. However, these properties can make it difficult to collect the same types of cells with the same density but with size variations. The present separator, however, is capable of collecting the same types of cells based on the cell density in the fluid. Regardless of cell size, the proposed chip isolates low density cells, (white blood cells, or WBCs) at the upper outlet while obtaining high-density cells (red blood cells, or RBCs) from the lower outlet based on density. Efficiency levels for separation of WBCs and RBCs were $90.9{\pm}9.1%$ and $86.4{\pm}1.99%$, respectively. The present separator therefore has the potential for use in the pretreatment of whole blood.

  • Recently, location recognition technology has attracted much attention, especially for locating people or objects in an indoor environment without being influenced by the surrounding environment GPS technology is widely used as a method of recognizing the position of an object or a person. GPS is a very efficient, but it does not allow the positions of objects or people indoors to be determined. RFID is a technology that identifies the location information of a tagged object or person using radio frequency information. In this study, an RFID system is constructed and the position is measured using tags. At this time, an error occurs between the actual and measured positions. To overcome this problem, a neural network is trained using the measured and actual position data to reduce the error. In this case, since the number of read tags is not constant, they are not suitable as input values for training the neural network, so the neural network is trained by converting them into center-of-gravity inputs and median value inputs. This allows the position error to be reduce by the neural network. In addition, different numbers of trained data are used, viz. 50, 100, 200 and 300, and the correlation between the number of data input values and the error is checked. When the training is performed using the neural network, the errors of the center-of-gravity input and median value input are compared. It was found that the greater the number of trained data, the lower the error, and that the error is lower when the median value input is used than when the center-of-gravity input is used.

  • Based on the fact that a human being walks naturally and stably with consuming a minimum energy, this paper proposes a new method of generating a natural gait of 5-link biped robot like human by analyzing a COG (Center Of Gravity) trajectory of human's gait. In order to generate a natural gait pattern for 5-link biped robot, it considers the COG trajectory measured from human's gait images on the sagittal and frontal plane. Although the human and 5-link biped robot are similar in the side of the kinematical structure, numbers of their DOFs(Degree Of Freedom) are different. Therefore, torques of the human's joints cannot are applied to robot's ones directly. In this paper, the proposed method generates the gait pattern of the 5-link biped robot from the GA algorithm which utilize human's ZMP trajectory and torques of all joints. Since the gait pattern of the 5-link biped robot model is generated from human's ones, the proposed method creates the natural gait pattern of the biped robot that minimizes an energy consumption like human. In the side of visuality and energy efficiency, the superiority of the proposed method have been improved by comparative experiments with a general method that uses a inverse kinematics.
