A Study on the Changing Image of Glossy Materials after 1960s (1960년대 이후 광택소재 이미지 변화에 대한 연구)

  • The purpose of this paper is to investigate the changing fashion image of the glossy materials including metal, leather, vinyl, latex, plastic etc. from 1960's to the present. Glossy materials used in the second half of the 20th century showed a restricted image combined with a specific social circumstance. They expressed a reflection of young and future-oriented space period of 1960s. Many designers like Paco Rabanne and Andre Courreges were concerned with the fashion of space age and expressed that image with leather and synthetic materials including silver leather, metal chain armor, and plastic appeared as the keynote of fashion. In 1970's, glossy material was the symbol of avant-garde and rebellious attitude by the punk fashion. They maximized glamourous look of 1980s, and cyber look with an expectation for a new millenium of 1990s. On the other side, glossy materials seem to be used as a source of various inspiration of fashion designer in the 21st century. Also, some of the past images, for example space look and glamourous look, are revived in the 21 st century by the form of modified design.

Synthesis of Vinyl-nano Silica Ball Composite : Its Application to Clearcoat (비닐-나노실리카볼 화합물의 클리어코트 특성 연구)

  • Inorganic-organic hybrid material such as vinyl-nano sized silica ball was synthesized by acrylo-alkoxysilane and nano silica ball with different particle size. And then they were formulated into acrylic-melamine clearcoat. This material is fully characterized with various analytical methods and applied for strength measurement. The glossy effect, matting effect and anti-scratching properties of materials were investigated for further growth and maintenance. When the particle size of nano silica ball is 20~30 nm, the glossy retain effect was increased by 7% compared to bare acrylic-melamine clearcoat. When a commercially available silica Aerosil 200 (Hydrophilic fumed silica, average particle size 12 nm, Degussa) react with vinyl alkoxysilane vinyl-fumed silica complex form. The vinyl-fumed silica along with clearcoat increases only 2% increase at glossy retain. Nano-scratch test results also support the glossy retain effect of vinyl nano-sized silica ball in clearcoat.

  • High glossy painting and UV lithographic painting as painting methods for wooden furniture have played a positive role in enhancing the diversity of furniture design, which has been proved by the analysis on the relationship between the change in the diversity of design and painting methods of graduation projects (wooden furniture) presented by graduates of local universities, as a focus of this article. Since the development of new painting methods has the potential to develop aesthetic characteristics of wooden furniture, many design experiments are needed to improve decorative features of furniture, such as the application of high glossy painting and UV lithographic painting.

  • The surface of concrete tiles is weak in moisture that it occurrenced efflorescence, but in the former study we found that it is possible to ensure moisture stability of concrete surface by autoclaving. So this study is to discuss the moisture stability and Physical Properties of high-strength glossy concrete according to time and temperature of autoclave curing. As the results, by increasing time and temperature of autoclave curing, compressive strength and surface hardness increased and glossiness decreased. In the case to 3 hour and $180^{\circ}C$ of autoclave curing, there is not effloescences in mosture stability test.

  • Glossy architectural concrete means high qulity concrete which develops marble-like gloss on the surface of concrete. In spite of many benefits of architectural concrete to R.C. structure such as appearance of natural stone, saving of envelope materials and reduction of building weight, the failure of in-situ application of architectural concrete by the absence of knowledge on the physical properties and form work for it can often be found in Korea. This study is to offer the basic materials on the mix proportion, vibrating, curing and treatment of concrete result from the mock up test and in-situ application of architectural concrete to embody high quality architectural concrete in Korea.

  • This study was aimed to evaluate any influence food habits food intake freqyuency and factors associated hair conditions. The subjects of this study consisted of 291 female college students in Chung Ju. Questionnaires were completed by them Eating habits of subjects was irregular and hair type was not good generally hair glossy was most Who had hair trouble. The relationship between hair type and eating habits was not significant. But the rate of hair troubles, fallen hair, white hair, glossy were lower at the fish and soybean intake frequency to increasrd.(p<0.05) The drinking trime of coffee(p<0.01) and alcoholic beverage(p<0.05) per day was significant negative correlation with hair growth.

Consumers' Attitude on Textile Image Generated by CAD for Quick Response based Mass-Customization

  • Companies desire to increase total profits. Consumer's buying behavior depends on the nature of the product just like look, touch, and feel of fabric in apparel shopping on-line with Quick Response based mass-customization. The purpose of this study is to investigate the consumer's texture sensibility from textile image under on-line environment in order to give the direction for marketing strategy in apparel ebusiness. Total 8 kinds of textile swatches representing each of 8 texture-sensibility-axes were selected for this research on the basis of finding in previous studies. The analyses of 60 questionnaires were conducted by frequency, mean, and standard deviation using SPSS 10.0. The results of this research were as follows: Under on-line environment, consumers recognized Homespun as natural, strong, and warm texture sensibility, but not as glossy, and transparent. Oxford was recognized by consumers as refreshing, and plain texture. Consumers recognized Muslin as flat and refreshing, Melton not as transparent but as warm, strong, dense, and natural, Habutae as thin, transparent, refreshing, flat, glossy, and soft, Linen as sandy, Suede not as transparent but as strong, and warm, and Terry as warm, and dense.

  • This study was conducted to investigate the effects of the gloss of a product's packaging on purchase intention and the mediating role of perceived corporate eco-friendliness and perceived quality in food area. The participants were randomly assigned to product package condition (glossy vs. matte) and after observing ketchup and potato chips, they responded to questions on about perceived corporate eco-friendliness, perceived quality, and purchase intention. The participants reported their opinion that companies that manufactured matte package products would likely use more organic ingredients and would be more eco-friendly than companies that manufactured glossy package products. The more the participants perceived a company to be eco-friendly, the better they evaluated the company's product quality and the higher their purchase intention. This study has theoretical and practical implications, in that it extends the study of the product package in relation to its effect on corporate image, and it proposes a practical use of matte product package for improving the eco-friendly image of the company. Limitations and further research were also discussed.

A Basic Study to Reveal the Relationships between Solar Thermal Radiation and Thermographic Images (태양 복사와 열화상이미지의 관계에 대한 기초 연구)

  • Among the factors that must be taken into account when using thermal imaging cameras that are expanding their application to various fields, a basic study was conducted focusing on temperature on the effect of solar radiation on the photographed thermal image. Through all experiments, in order to use an image taken with a thermal imaging camera for an object installed or located outdoors, a separate temperature correction according to the size of solar radiation or a separate device to block the effect of solar radiation must be additionally installed. Since the temperature of the same object may vary in the thermal image taken indoors or outdoors, it is necessary to calibrate it through comparison with other temperatures as a reference point. In the case of measuring the temperature of a glossy surface such as metal indoors with a thermal imaging camera, it was confirmed that an environment that can remove the light reflection effect by the glossy surface must be constructed and photographed.
