경쟁적 전력시장에서 복합화력발전의 입찰전략에 대한 연구 (A Study on the Bidding Strategies of Combined Cycle Plants in a Competitive Electricity Market)

  • Combined cycle plants which feature distinct advantages for power generation such as fast response, high efficiency, environmental friendliness, fuel flexiblity represent the majority of new generating plant installations across the globe. Combined cycle plants have different operating modes where the operating parameters can differ greatly depending which mode is operating at the time. This paper addresses the bidding strategy model of combined cycle plants in a competitive electricity market by using a characteristic of multiple operating modes of combined cycle plants. Simulation results of case studies show that an operating mode among multiple ones is selected strategically in generation bidding for more profit of generation company.

  • The field of digital forensics requires good theoretical and practical knowledge, so practitioners should have an in-depth understanding and knowledge of both theory and practical as they need to take decisions which impacts human lives. With the demand and advancements in the realm of digital forensics, many universities around the globe are offering digital forensics programs, but there is a huge gap between the skills acquired by the student's and the market needs. This research work explores the problems faced by digital forensics programs, and provides solution to overcome the gap between the skills acquired by the student's and the market needs using Activity led learning pedagogy for digital forensics programs.

The Impact of COVID-19 on the Volatility of Bangladeshi Stock Market: Evidence from GJR-GARCH Model

  • The enormous sway of COVID-19 on the international financial market has been felt across the globe. The financial markets of Bangladesh have also been similarly affected by the global epidemic and experienced a significant increase in volatility. To scrutinise the connection between COVID-19 and the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) indices' return and instability, this study uses data of the DSE from February 2014 to September 2021. A comparative examination of the return and instability of the stock indices of the DSE has also been done considering the outbreak of the current COVID-19 situation. After using the GJR-GARCH (1,1) model, this review uncovers that the outbreak of COVID-19 has a statistically positive noteworthy association with the DSE stock indices' instability, which increases the market's volatility. Traders' fear and the rising frequency of COVID-19 reported patients could cause this. Besides, according to this study, COVID-19 shows a substantial positive linkage with stock market returns that increases the market's return. An appealing valuation, lower interest rates in the banking channel, economic rebound following the closure to prevent coronavirus transmission, improved remittance inflows, and a return of export revenues could all have contributed to this outcome. In addition, the findings also reveal that all market indices are in a mean-reverting phase.

중동지역주식시장의 가격및변동성이전효과분석 (Price and Volatility Spillovers in MENA Stock Market)

  • 최근 컴퓨터와 인터넷 등 정보전달매체가 급속하게 발달하고 자본이동의 자유화가 확대되면서 세계 금융시장의 상호 연관성이 높아짐에 따라 국제 주식시장 사이에 나타나는 상관관계 및 이전효과에 대한 연구가 활발하게 진행되어 왔다. 그러나 중동지역에 대한 연구는 거의 없는 실정이다. 본 연구는 터키, 이집트 등 중동지역의 신흥 주식시장과 미국, 일본, 독일 등의 선진 주식시장 사이에 나타나는 정보전달 효과에 대한 실증분석을 시도하였다. 여기에서는 GARCH 모형을 사용하는 기존 연구와는 달리 소파동(wavelet) 분석기법을 이용하였다. 분석결과에 의하면, 주식 수익률 뿐만 아니라 변동성에 대해서도 선진 주식시장으로부터 중동지역 주식시장으로의 이전효과가 나타났으나 이집트에 대한 수익률 이전효과는 매우 약한 것으로 분석되었다. 또한 터키와 이집트 주식시장 사이의 관계를 살펴 본 결과, 두 나라가 비슷한 장기 추세를 보이기는 하지만 서로에 대해 이전효과를 갖지는 못하는 것으로 나타났다.

  • The Diesel Multiple Units (DMU) is a successful mass transportation system, that is being, continuously, on demand by train operators and railway authorities around the globe. One of its advantages is the fact that a diesel engine, along with the correct propulsion and control equipment, could also be used on either Electrified or Non-Electrified Railway Lines. Currently, there are almost 12,000 DM Units being used worldwide and the demand is on the increase. This paper describes the special features as well as the advantages/disadvantages of the different types of the DMUs according to the propulsion systems that are employed, to help establish a trend in the DMU market.

  • Through the examination of literatures, electronic commerce is a subject which is accepted in enterprises to define e-commerce adoption, trends, and issues that are assisting and obstructing its efficacy. E-commerce offers numerous advantages to consumer satisfaction in any place and helps the company to get a competitive benefit over its competitors. The Internet has expanded the scope of business. Many business information is available by the global network that supports information gathering between organizations, businesses and their clients, while various divisions of a business is increasing at an exponential rate. Meanwhile, there are a few barriers to proper e-commerce usage and adoption, such as reliable internet connections, poor e-commerce supporting infrastructures, logistics systems presenting socio-regulatory and poor transportation barriers and demonstrating the significant improvement of e-commerce reliable and affordable Internet provisions, i.e., Internet cost, intensity, and reasonable level of e-readiness. The operational and strategic significance of information-based virtual value chains for all organizations cannot be emphasized. As a consequence, this study confirms worldwide market elements of e-commerce, such as its issues, benefits, relevance, scope, facilitators and projects prospective obstacles in a developing economy.

  • In the beginning of the Web history, the main function and importance of the Internet was focused on the content of the data. However, that focus has been switched to the search engines because of the abundant, humongous amount of data that are spread all over the globe. The Webmasters are now implying flasy, beautiful graphics and newly developed technologies to make their websites attract the Internet users. The significant change was mainly caused by the companies that thought cyber shopping malls were going to be very simple and profitable. They believed that the decreasing prices of hardware and easy-to-use software were going to attract the potential customers, resulting in a new, massive market. A website needs to be extremely captivating and attractive, in order to bring in new customers and induce them to return. The Webmaster has to devise methods to find out what kinds of contents would bring in a bigger audience, as well as checking the validity and correctness of the contents. In the thesis, the necessity and concept of a personalized Internet shopping mall will be discussed through the theoretical examination of the one-to-one marketing and the concept of the current shopping malls. The scheme of the personalized shopping mall will be presented, which will encourage the formation of loyal customers, in the ever-growing competitiveness of the marketing environment, by satisfying their wants faster and more precisely.

  • Maintaining proper tire air pressure is an essential element in ensuring vehicle safety. UHP Tires that boast of many safety features are increasing in the market. In particular, the development of "Self-Inflating Tire" technology is accelerating around the globe. Self-inflating tire refers to a technique for maintaining appropriate tire pressure. An internal regulator senses when tire inflation pressure has dropped below the set air pressure. The tire boosts air through the valve when rolling and compressed air enters into the tire. This procedure keeps the tire air pressure at an appropriate level and increases tire safety. Flow analysis of the internal tube is required to examine self-inflating tires. In this study, a method of tube flow analysis using the FSI Method is proposed. The valve system is also implemented to optimize the regulator and sensor.

패션명품 복제품 태도에 대한 선행변수 (Antecedents of attitudes toward counterfeit luxury fashion goods)

  • The market for counterfeit luxury fashion goods is proliferating across the globe. In an effort to provide some insight into this phenomenon, this study aimed to identify the antecedents of attitudes toward counterfeits of luxury fashion goods. As antecedents, counterfeit proneness and attitudes toward counterfeiting were considered. It was hypothesized that counterfeit proneness not only influences attitudes toward counterfeits of luxury fashion goods directly but also indirectly through attitudes toward counterfeiting. Data were gathered by surveying university students in Seoul, using convenience sampling. Three hundred five questionnaires were used in the statistical analysis. SPSS was used for exploratory factor analysis, and AMOS was used for confirmatory factor analysis and path analysis. The results showed that all the fit statistics for the variable measures were quite acceptable. In addition, the overall fits of the hypothesized model suggest that the model fits the data well. Factor analysis revealed that counterfeit proneness and attitudes toward counterfeits of luxury fashion goods were uni-dimensional and that attitudes toward counterfeiting were two dimensional, which are 'normatively less susceptible' and 'value conscious'. Test of the hypothesized path showed that counterfeit proneness influences attitudes toward counterfeits of luxury fashion goods indirectly through the two factors of attitudes toward counterfeiting. The results suggest some implications for anti-counterfeit businesses.

엔터테인먼트 OTT 구조와 콘텐츠의 분석: WWE Network를 중심으로 (Analysis of Structure and Content of Entertainment OTT: Focus on WWE Network)

  • 본 연구는 미국에서 제작되고 있는 엔터테인먼트 장르의 OTT(Over The Top) WWE Network의 구조와 콘텐츠를 탐구한다. 오늘 날 전 세계의 많은 회사들은 인터넷 스트리밍 서비스를 OTT를 제공하고 있으며, 가장 대표적인 예로는 Netflix가 있다. 본 연구에서는 WWE(World Wrestling Entertainment)의 WWE Network를 집중적으로 조사한다. WWE Network는 스포츠와 엔터테인먼트를 결합한 프로레슬링을 기반으로 하는 특징이 있으며, 범위가 지나치게 광범위하지 않기 때문에 연구에 적합하다고 판단된다. 이를 통해, WWE Network의 구조와 콘텐츠 를 연구할 뿐만 아니라, 전반적인 OTT 시장에 대해서도 탐구한다.
