The purpose of this research is to discuss the development history and future strategy of Geely Automobile Group Co., Ltd. Founded in 1997, Geely Automotive Group has grown from a small workshop to one of China's leading automakers after nearly three decades of development.This paper first reviews the development of Geely Automobile, from the initial small-scale production to the current global layout and diversified product line. Secondly, it analyzes the challenges and opportunities faced by Geely Automobile, including the intensification of market competition and the changing demand for technological innovation.And put forward the future development strategy of Geely Automobile, including improving the quality of products, expanding the international market and promoting the development of new energy vehicles. By analyzing the development history and future strategy of Geely Automobile Group Co., Ltd., we can better understand the company's position and future development direction in China's automobile industry.
Video surveillance industry as a high-tech industry has traits that a pace of source technology development is slow while a pace of application technology development is fast. Unlike domestic companies have shown technological excellence in the field of video surveillance hardware, global leading companies are leading technologies in the field of intelligence video surveillance which would lead the future of the industry. Therefore, technology selection of the domestic companies determines the viability of the company with respect to the terms of market competitiveness reinforcement. In order to achieving this, find out the technology areas where the global leading companies are focused on analysis of global patents. After global patents analysis, identify the status of domestic technologies and analyze the difference between the global leading companies and the domestic companies. Decompose the technologies by element technology-application matrix which is obtained through a panel discussion of domestic SMEs' CTO, CEO, or other experts, they derive the necessary R&D opportunity technologies to ensure the future competitiveness of the company.
The development of ICT brings a big change in manufacturing industries, and new information technology such as IoT, AR, and big data was applied on manufacturing process. As a result, the concept of smart factory has been introduced as a new manufacturing paradigm. In fact advanced countries like USA, Germany, and Japan have actively introduced smart factory in their manufacturing industries such as electronic, automobile, machinery, to improve production efficiency and quality. The manufacturing environment has been changed into flexible system, so that smart factory will be leading future manufacturing industries. Thes changes have more severe influence on Korean manufacturing industries. Mny industrial companies, have a strong interest in smart factory and they, particularly big enterprises, have been adopting smart factory to increase their manufacturing efficiencies. However, Korean small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) have many financial and technological difficulties so that the diffusion of smart factory in Korean SMEs has not been satisfiable up to present. However, smart factory is very important for enhancing their competitiveness in global market. Therefore, this study aims at identifying the standardization strategy of smart factory in so-called Korean 'roots industry' by presuming that the standardization will activate the diffusion of smart factory among Korean SMEs. For this purpose, first, this study examines the competitiveness of SMEs, especially in 'roots industry' and identifies the necessity of diffusion of smart factory among those SMEs. Second, based on the active review on the existing literature, this study identifies four factor groups that would influence the adoption or diffusion of standardized smart factory. They are technological, organizational, industrial and policy factors. Third, using those four factors, this study made two comprehensive case analyses on the adoption and diffusion of smart factory. These two companies belong to molding sector which is one of the important six sectors in 'root industry'. Finally, based on the theoretical and empirical analyse, this study suggests four strategies for activating the standardization of smart factory; international standardization, government-leading standardization, firm-leading standardization, and non-standardization.
The objective of the present case study is to analysis how effectively Hilti, which is a former family firm owned and managed by a family in Liechtenstein as a tiny european country, a land sandwiched between Switzerland and Austria, has made a global market success. Liechtenstein has $160km^2$ land and about 36,000 residents. Despite its small size of country, however, Hilti Corporation doesn't view its location as a liability in its business strategy. Hilti is a global leading provider of professional power tools in building, mining, civil engineering etc. Also, Hilti is a firm with a clear vision to become the leading industry partner for construction professionals and building installations through customer focus, high quality equipment, and tools and systems specially designed for specific jobs. This study considered Hilti as a good case, which verifies that born-conditions, endogenous factors according to Michael Porters diamond model does not decisive role more for international competitiveness of firms. Lessons from Hilti are that in order to obtain and sustain the global competitiveness of small and medium-sized firms in Korean manufacturing sector under high production cost, they have to do actively innovative. Also they can give to customers newer and higher customer-values than competitors in abroad give. The case summarizes that the strategy of Hilti for the global market success is comprised of several factors: Technological and organizational innovation, and a clear customer-value oriented business strategy and its implementation. Innovation and its integration into marketing for the customers value creation is central to Hilti's Success. The present case study is expected to provide insights and implication for many firms in Korea that are seeking to secure global presence and market success.

Technology innovation activities are very important for companies to secure technological competitiveness and continue to grow. Korea operates a certification system at the national level to promote corporate innovation activities, and strives to enhance SMEs' global technological competitiveness. Among these, the representative system related to technological innovation is the New Excellent Technology (NET) certification. NET is certified through a strict three-stage screening process, and is operated for the purpose of commercialization of new technology, technology trading, and promotion of early market entry by companies. Acquiring NET certification means that the company has a certain level of technological competitiveness. Therefore, this study attempted to conduct an empirical analysis on which technology innovation activities of companies affect the success of R&D projects and improvement of management performance, centering on NET certification system. To verify this, technology strategy, technology planning, systematic R&D process, internal cooperation, and external cooperation activities were set as major variables. As a result of the empirical analysis, it was confirmed that all variables set in this study individually contributed to the success of the R&D project and improvement of management performance. However, when looking at a comprehensive level that considers all variables, it was analyzed that systematic R&D process management and cooperation activities with external organizations have a statistically significant effect on R&D project success, and technology strategy establishment and technology planning activities, which are the initial stages of R&D, have a statistically significant effect on management performance. This study was conducted on innovation-oriented SMEs that have established and operated corporate R&D centers and are actively conducting R&D activities, and multiple regression analysis was used as an analysis method.

In the era of super-aged societies, research and development (R&D) projects related to aging are very important agenda for establishing the direction of future R&D planning and technological competitiveness in the country. In order to respond promptly to this agenda, it is essential to establish a national-level convergence R&D policy. In this study, we utilized the global R&D funding project data from major nations (US, Europe, Japan), and then standardized them with the same fields. To analyze the current status of global R&D related to aging, we performed cluster analysis based on the co-occurrence matrix to explore convergence R&D areas in the US, Europe, and Japan related to aging. In addition, comparative analysis by country suggested that different points on the interdisciplinary area and the convergence of aging-related R&D by each country. These results provide fundamental understandings for the status of convergence in aging-related global R&D, the current technology trends, and establish the direction and strategy of R&D policy.

Unicorn companies are attracting attention around the world as they are recognized for their high corporate value in a short period of time as an innovative business models. Their growth process presents good lessons for the startup ecosystem and have a positive impact on national economic development and job creation. However, previous studies related to unicorn companies are focused on 'event studies' and 'case studies' such as characteristics of founders, environmental factors, business models and success/failure cases of companies already recognized as unicorns rather than a multifaceted approach. The occurrence of unicorn companies and Macroscopic analysis of related factors is lacking. Against this background, this study are considering the characteristics of unicorns examined through previous research and the current status unicorns with a high proportion of technology companies, the purpose was to analyze the impact of the country's technological competitiveness, such as 'technology human resource index', 'R&D index', and 'technology infrastructure index', on the increase in unicorn companies. For statistical analysis, data published by various international organizations, the Bank of Korea, and Statistics Korea from 2017 to 2020 and unicorn company data compiled by CB Insights were used as panel data for 44 countries to be tested by multiple regression analysis. As a result of the study, it was confirmed that the number of science majors had a positive (+) effect on the increase of unicorn companies in the case of technology human resource index, and in the case of R&D index, the total amount of R&D investment had a positive (+) effect on the increase of unicorn companies, while the number of Triad Patents Families and the number of scientific and technological papers published had a negative (-) effect on the increase of unicorn companies. Finally, in the case of technology infrastructure index, it was confirmed that the number of the world's 500th-ranked universities had a positive (+) effect on the increase of unicorn companies. This study is the first to reveal the causal relationship between national technological competitiveness and unicorn company growth based on country-specific and time-series empirical data, which were insufficiently covered in previous studies. and compared to the UN's ranking of the global industrial competitiveness index and the OECD's total R&D investment by country, Korea is considered to have technological and growth potential, while the number of unicorn companies driving growth as leaders of the innovative economy is relatively small, so the research results can be used when establishing policies to discover and foster unicorn companies in the future.
This study aims to measure Korea's global competitiveness in intelligent information technology, which is the core technology of the 4th industrial revolution. For analysis, we collect patents of each field and prior patents cited by them, which are applied at the U.S. Patent Office (USPTO) between 2010 and 2018 from PATSTAT Online. A global knowledge transfer network was established by grouping citing- and cited-relationships at a national level. The in-degree centrality is used to evaluate technology acceptance, which indicates the process of absorbing existing technological knowledge to create new knowledge in each field. Second, to evaluate the impact of existing technological knowledge on the creation of new one, the out-degree centrality is investigated. Third, we apply the PageRank algorithm to qualitatively and quantitatively investigate the importance of the relationships between countries. As a result, it is confirmed through all the indicators that the AI sector is currently the least competitive.
The purpose of this study is to examine the appropriateness of Regulatory Impact Analysis(RIA) in terms of the technological regulation impact assessment in order to confirm whether the current RIA process reflects the important characteristics of technological regulation. This paper develops a logical framework for analysis of technological regulation and evaluates the appropriateness of the RIA statements submitted by the government departments. From the viewpoint of [technological feasibility of regulation], [synthesis of domestic technological norms], [synthesis of international technological norms], as a result of evaluating the contents of the actual RIA statement on the basis of objective facts, feasibility of alternative analysis, and expert judgment, only 23.4% of the RIA statements were judged "appropriate", and there were no particular differences among the government. As a result of reviewing the appropriateness of RIA statements according to regulatory attributes, the appropriateness of RIA statements on technological regulation with social regulatory and indirect regulatory attributes was rather high. In sum, the level of Korean RIA statements is insufficient to carry out the practical meaning of technological regulation impact assessment. That is, as each government department adopts technological regulation, the understanding of the technological properties of the regulation may not be complete. The RIA statement that does not adequately reflect the technological rationale, hinders the careful review of other regulatory alternatives by exaggerating the feasibility of the technology regulation, at the same time leads to the serious problems that impede the acquisition of competitiveness of companies and the public in the global competition system.
Purposes - This study propose the following 4 methods to establish Global HRD system focusing on transferable skill which is attracting attention as future science and technology Manpower. The activation of convergence research creates new industries in the era of 4th industrial revolution. Research design and methodology -This study was conducted by using research methods and expert interviews focused on document analysis. This study also reflects trends through books and materials that cover the latest issues such as the Fourth Industrial Revolution. Results - 4 Things are reflecting the policies of S&T Manpower and securing execution capability, developing competence-based transferable skill model, enhancing science and technology convergence R&D and performance capability, and developing customized HRD program. Conclusions - Transferable skills will contribute to strengthen the national competitiveness of science and technology in the long term by establishing the foundation of technological innovation that can create new industries and secure future growth power in the 4th industrial revolution era. Practically, it was suggested that science and technology professionals should be able to refer to the HRD program design and HRD program design by suggesting the view of transferable skill and the activation plan reflecting the insight.
