Objectives: The regulatory changes in Korea during the national economic crisis 10 years ago and in the current global recession were analyzed to understand the characteristics of deregulation in labor policies. Methods: Data for this study were derived from the Korean government's official database for administrative regulations and a government document reporting deregulation. Results: A great deal of business-friendly deregulation took place during both economic crises. Occupational health and safety were the main targets of deregulation in both periods, and the regulation of employment promotion and vocational training was preserved relatively intact. The sector having to do with working conditions and the on-site welfare of workers was also deregulated greatly during the former economic crisis, but not in the current global recession. Conclusions: Among the three main areas of labor policy, occupational health and safety was most vulnerable to the deregulation in economic crisis of Korea. A probable reason for this is that the impact of deregulation on the health and safety of workers would not be immediately disclosed after the policy change.

Minimum Efficiency Performance Standard (MEPS) has already been operated in many countries. In particular, the European Union (EU) has entered the IE3 stage since 2017. Korea will also enter the IE3 phase from October 2018. As for Korea, there is still a restriction on induction motors only. But, in the EU and the United States, efficiency regulation of variable speed drives is being deeply examined. Standards related to this are gradually being fixed. In this paper, the current status and the direction of global standards related to the efficiency of motors, inverters and systems are reviewed. And the case of improving the efficiency of the system including the motor will be examined.

Air pollution problem has been one of the most urgent global environmental problems since UN Framework Convention on Climate Change accepted in Rio Conference, 1992. International environmental regulations of global community to reduce the green house gases have Influenced the domestic environmental policies. Recently, various policy have been made to cope with foreign environment restrction and active supports for development of related technology have been carried out in our government confrontation strategy still leaves much to be desired. In this paper, government confrontation program to climate agreement, counter strategies in motor and also electrics, electronics industries are investigated and discussed.

Recently Korea and many countries are legislated for pedestrian protection as following the GTR(Global Technical Regulation). Most NCAP organization have been applying pedestrian protection results in their own rating system in individual or overall rating. Euro NCAP agency has been introduced it first. From the beginning, Euro NCAP had assessed occupant and pedestrian protection. It has become to strengthen a pedestrian protection protocol every time published. Korea NCAP also has been rating pedestrian protection with overall rating system. This paper proposed to study new pedestrian protection protocol especially upper leg in order to find injury response based on physical test. On Euro NCAP, the upper leg injury are assessed two kind of value which are bending moment and force.

The filamentous soil bacterium Streptomyces coelicolor is known to produce four distinct antibiotics. The simultaneous global regulation for the biosynthesis of those four antibiotics was previously confirmed by absA and absB mutations that blocked all four antibiotics' biosynthesis without influencing their morphological differentiation. To study the complex regulatory cascade that controls the secondary metabolism in Streptomyces, a new abs-like mutation was characterized. namely absR, which is slightly leaky on a complete R2YE medium, yet tight on a minimal medium. A genetic analysis of the absR locus indicated that it is located at 10 o'clock on the genetic map, near the site of absA. A cloned copy of the absA gene that encoded bacterial two-component regulatory kinases did not restore antibiotic biosyntheis to the absR mutant. Accordingly, it is proposed that absR is another abs-type mutation which is less tight than the previously identified absA or absB mutations income medium conditions, and can be used to characterize another global regulatory gene for secondary metabolete formation in S. coelicolor.

The Uniform Customs and Practice for Documentary Credits ("UCP") may be treated as a useful laboratory for studying the scope and limitations of self regulation. This is due to its almost universal success on a global stage which provides it a perspective rarely available for self regulatory provisions and due to extensive experience of judicial review of it. In this sense, it is worthwhile to examine in brief the latest iteration of the UCP, Publication No. 600 ("UCP600"). This article describes and analyze some of core provisions of the UCP600 from the perspective of their adequacy as an exercise in self regulation. It is attempted first in view of several categories of private rulemaking; definitional rulemaking, default rules, procedural rules, and remedies. After that, it is examined second in view of sound rulemaking which is related to the relative role of law and practice. It points out rich and varied insights into the possibilities and problems associated with private rulemaking in connection with commercial transactions.

The main purpose of the study is to determine the features of state regulation of the hotel and restaurant business in the digital economy. Particularly relevant are the processes of digitalization of the service sector. Trade and transport companies, enterprises in the hotel and restaurant industry, catering got the opportunity to expand the target audience, improve the quality of service, develop at an accelerated pace, take into account that in the global digital economy, victory will go to those whose arsenal will involve a large number of high-quality digital platforms. As a result of the study, key aspects of state regulation of the hotel and restaurant business in the digital economy were identified.

There is an increasing concern in the United States regarding the workforce's ability to maintain a competitive position in the global economy. This has led to an increased interest in effective science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) education. The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of STEM project-based learning (PBL) on students' self-regulation and motivation to learn. Secondary students (n = 60) participated in a STEM summer camp in which STEM PBL was utilized. Results showed that students increased their self-regulation skills (t = 2.83, df = 59, p = .004) and motivation (t = 2.25, df = 59, p =.004), with Cohen's d effect sizes of 0.395 and 0.404, respectively. Student-centered learning and peer collaboration while solving real-world problems were likely the greatest contributing factors to the outcomes. Educators should utilize the results to provide opportunities for students to experience STEM PBL.
