  • There are several ways such as GPS(Global Positioning System) and INS (Inertial Navigation System) to track the location of moving vehicle. The GPS has the advantages of having non-accumulative error even if it brings about errors. In order to obtain the position information, we need to receive at least 3 satellites information. But, the weak point is that GPS is not useful when the 혠 signal is weak or it is in the incommunicable region such as tunnel. In the case of INS, the information of the position and posture of mobile with several Hz~several hundreds Hz data speed is recorded for velocity, direction. INS shows a very precise navigational performance for a short period, but it has the disadvantage of increasing velocity components because of the accumulated error during integration over time. In this paper, sensor fusion algorithm is applied to both of INS and GPS for the position information to overcome the drawbacks. The proposed system gets an accurate position information from experiment using SVD in a non-accessible GPS terrain.

  • Ship's positino data obtaining method is ine of the very important factor innavigation . Nowadays, GPS(Global Positioning System) using the earth orbiting satellites are equipped and operated for the position finding. Because it provides more precise position information than other equipments and is very convenient for navigator. In this study, it is designed to develop the GPS simulator for everybody being able to proactise the GPS operating skill like as navigation planning, navigation calculating etc. And also, it can be operated with personal computer without real GPS receiver. This simulation system is based on the real GPS receiver system and built by the visual basic 5.0 program. And it displays the ship's position and navigating information and plots the ship's moving track on the screen in real time according as initial setup data-main engine's rpm, rudder angle, depature position and waypoint.

  • Indoor localization using an artificial marker plays a key role for a robot to be used in a service environment. A number of researchers have predefined the positions of markers and attached them to the positions in order to reduce the error of the localization method. However, it is practically impossible to attach a marker to the predetermined position accurately. In order to visualize the position of an object in the environment based on the marker attached to them, it is necessary to consider a change of marker's position or the addition of a marker because of moving the existed object or adding a new object. In this paper, we studied the method to estimate the artificial marker's global position for the visualization of environment. The system calculates the relative distance from a reference marker to others repeatedly to estimate the marker's position. When the marker's position is changed or new markers are added, our system can recognize the changed situation of the markers. To verify the proposed system, we attached 12 markers at regular intervals on the ceiling and compared the estimation result of the proposed method and the actual distance. In addition, we compared the estimation result when changing the position of an existing marker or adding a new marker.

  • Nowadays, CPS is used widely, especially in cases which need more precise position information, such as car navigation systems and even in the mobile robot for position measuring in the outdoor environment. RTK (Real-Time Kinematics) and DGPS (Differential Global Positioning System) have more precise accuracy than the general-purposed GPS. However can't easily use them because of high prices and large size of equipments. In order fur the mobile robot to obtain precise position information it is important that CPS receiver has portability and low price. In this study, we introduce a new GPS data acquisition system that offers the precise position data using the DGPS mechanism and satisfying low cost and portability. In addition to this, we propose an improved data compensation algorithm that offers more accurate position information to the outdoor mobile robot by compensating the error rate of CPS data measured from the three points with geometrical rotation and distance formula. Proposed method is verified by comparing with the precise real position data obtained by RTK. Proposed method has more than 70% performance enhancement.

  • Kinematic global positioning system precise point positioning (GPS PPP) technology is widely used to the several area such as monitoring of crustal movement and precise orbit determination (POD) using the dual-frequency GPS observations. In this study we developed a kinematic PPP technology and applied 3-pass (forward/backward/forward) filter for the stabilization of the initial state of the parameters to be estimated. For verification of results, we obtained GPS data sets from six international GPS reference stations (ALGO, AMC2, BJFS, GRAZ, IENG and TSKB) and processed in daily basis by using the developed software. As a result, the mean position errors by kinematic PPP showed 0.51 cm in the east-west direction, 0.31 cm in the north-south direction and 1.02 cm in the up-down direction. The root mean square values produced from them were 1.59 cm for the east-west component, 1.26 cm for the south-west component and 2.95 cm for the up-down component.

  • This study considers and analyzes the position and area errors and the related problems through the experimental study of the converting process from the cadastral coordinate system to the global coordinate system. Also, based on the result, the points of improvement have been considered. According to the conversion of the coordinates in the study area, the standard deviations for the conversion of coordinates in regard to every parcel boundary point (478 points in total) have been calculated as X=0.0079m and Y=0.0153m respectively. It can be considered that such values are extremely excellent. Also, after analyzing the area errors, it has been found that there is a difference of $0.062m^2$ on average. Such a difference stays within the range of the allowable error tolerance specified by the current laws. Therefore, in regard to the limited area which is subject to the study, it can be concluded that the difference is not great in differences of the position or the area. As a result, the converting process into the global coordinate system is possible.

  • As the age of smart device has come, recently many application services related to smart phone are developing. The LBS(Location Based Service) technique is considered as one of the most important techniques to support location based application services. Usually the smart phone acquires the information of position by using the position recognition systems and sensors such as GPS(Global Positioning System) and G-Sensor. However, since the GPS signal from the satellite can hardly be received in the indoor environments, new LBS techniques for the indoor environment are required. In this paper, to solve the problem a position information transceiver using LED lights and smart phone camera sensor is proposed. We proved the possibility of the proposed positioning system through the experiments in the laboratory for the practical verification.

  • This paper presents a novel Long Short-Term Memory (LSTM) network architecture for the integration of an Inertial Measurement Unit (IMU) and Global Navigation Satellite Systems (GNSS). The proposed algorithm consists of two independent LSTM networks and the LSTM networks are trained to predict attitudes and velocities from the sequence of IMU measurements and mechanization solutions. In this paper, three GNSS receivers are used to provide Real Time Kinematic (RTK) GNSS attitude and position information of a vehicle, and the information is used as a target output while training the network. The performance of the proposed method was evaluated with both experimental and simulation data using a lowcost IMU and three RTK-GNSS receivers. The test results showed that the proposed LSTM network could improve positioning accuracy by more than 90% compared to the position solutions obtained using a conventional Kalman filter based IMU/GNSS integration for more than 30 seconds of GNSS outages.
